Treyarch Teasing Something?
Flammenwerfer replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Okay, green Panzer Soldat? Seems quite strange, as well as the whole idea of green 115. Probably just for show, but it is really weird how they chose a colour that isn't Origins' blue PaP camo. -
Awesome! Can't wait to have Covy back on board! I hope he doesn't get too overwhelmed!
-
It's a reticle for an upcoming camo pack, not a hint to BO3.

Treyarch has gave us hope!
Flammenwerfer replied to ViRaL x Vandal's topic in Research & Development
It says inspired, so they most likely took the pattern and just made it a different colour. I might get it, but I don't know. I haven't played BOII multiplayer since Ghosts came out.- 19 replies

Treyarch Teasing Something?
Flammenwerfer replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Ah, yup. That does seem to be the case. Dammit, Treyarch, why do you have to get our hopes up time and time again? -
Treyarch Teasing Something?
Flammenwerfer replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
It's actually just the new camo that Treyarch's releasing next week. Anyway, this is really strange. It could mean something, but it could also mean nothing. Either way, their DLC coming next week gives me hope for remade zombie maps after all. -
Never before have I disagreed so hard.

I trust Treyarch. I believe that if they have an extra year or so to work on the next installment of Zombies, then they will make the best use of it possible. They've realized their mistakes with biting off more than they can chew (TranZit). Honestly, I'm all for it, even if it means we have to wait an extra year. It just gives us more time to theorize.

Do you mean the gibbing effect, where limbs go everywhere?

I was thinking of like five to ten random Challenges per game that you could do. Maybe some of them could be map-specific (ie. Kill 100 Zombies with the special map-exclusive trap). It'd also be neat to have some sort of checklist that showed what Challenges you've had, completed, how many times you've completed them, and all that. Challenges that you haven't received yet would still remain blank in the list until you encounter it (and complete it). Think the Pokedex in the Pokemon games.
-
If only one, I'd want Challenges back. However, I'd rather have more than three in a map, and have them be dynamic. Having the goals are good, but it'd be even better if they changed from game to game. One game, for example, a Challenge could be to kill 50 Zombies with only the standard M1911, whereas in another game, there would be a Challenge to survive five rounds without spending points instead. Also, make the rewards dynamic too. You could get more perks instead of weapons, or a bunch of Max Ammos, or a bunch of points, etc. Just seems like something that would make Zombies even better in future maps.

Extinction - What we know so far & How it ties into Ghosts
Flammenwerfer replied to GRILL's topic in Extinction Mode
Alright, so I'm going to do a little write-up on this based off of the Intel gathered from the map. If I miss anything, or incorrectly state anything, let me know. So, basically, our "alien" friends aren't actually aliens at all. They have actually been on this Earth for over three million years. After a catastrophic collision with a meteor, the "Cryptids" retreated into the depths of the earth, being able to sustain themselves with the natural heat of the planet's core. It wasn't until about six months prior to the ODIN missile attacks that Captain David Archer discovered these creatures. Archer is a former soldier who is wanted by the U.S. government for treason. After he discovered the Cryptids and their origins, he took the specimens to his research lab, dubbed the "Nightfall Project" up in Alaska. He also recruits Dr. Samantha Cross, a top-grade university graduate with an amazing ability to decipher languages. Her purpose in coming to Nightfall wasn't clear until Archer presented unto her the "Ark", an ancient, three million year old stone slab with strange engravings on it. This intrigued Cross, who devoted countless days and sleepless nights attempting to decipher what this pre-human language was trying to say. Slowly, Archer seemed to be going mad with these experiments. After the Colorado incident (aka Point of Contact), he secretly smuggled more Cryptids to Nightfall. When he hatched the Breeder, the giant spider-like monstrosity, he showed Cross the fruits of his labours. He made her watch as the Breeder devoured a terrified horse, all the while celebrating "like a proud father". This disgusted Cross, who by this time somewhat sympathized with the Cryptids for their unruly experiments. When she finally deciphered what the Ark said, she unleashed the Cryptids from their captivities, perhaps unknowingly or in a trance. She directed where the Cryptids should go, and who to attack. When Archer saw this, he became infuriated and panicked. However, he had a back-up plan. While Cross was obsessed with the Ark, Archer tried to obtain a boat and loyal crew for unknown reasons, possibly for further experiments and secret transportation. Multiple contacts either turned him down, or made an offer that Archer was not interested in. About two weeks after the Colorado incident (aka the setting of Nightfall), he was finally able to get what he needed from an unknown contact, after showing him photos detailing strange and mysterious places. Now that the Cryptids were running wild inside the Nightfall base, the U.S. government decided to send in a team of four elite soldiers to take care of the job (it is unknown if these are the same soldiers from Point of Contact due to the player customization feature). After finding out that Archer was still at Nightfall, though, their primary mission was changed to take him back, dead or alive. However, upon temporarily subduing the Breeder and reaching the facility, the soldiers discovered that Cross was alive as well, and had secured herself inside a small room. Because she managed to decipher the Ark, she decided that Archer should never know what it details. She tried to kill herself, but she was taken away by Archer. After the soldiers exited the facility, they witnessed Archer driving away, with Cross in tow. Before they could stop him, though, the Breeder showed up once again, this time with a bloodthirsty revenge. Although the soldiers defeated the Breeder, Archer had still escaped, and their fate at this time is unknown. Meanwhile, Archer had taken Cross to his hidden boat, where he and a group of doctors/scientists performed a surgery on her. Her brain was seemingly attached to an unknown Cryptid on an operating table. While she screamed, the camera pans below the deck into the ocean, where various fish-based Cryptids are seen, with a larger whale-size Cryptid emerging from the darkness. ---------- Based off of this, I can make a few assumptions. 1. Extinction does take place within the Ghosts campaign's ten year gap. The mention of the ODIN missiles again, the "serious" undertone of everything, and the fact that Archer calls them Cryptids make it seem like this is happening in secluded locations in the real world. (Cryptid is a general term for creatures that have been claimed to have been seen, but have no scientific proof to prove their existence, ie. Bigfoot, Yeti, the Loch Ness Monster, and aliens.) 2. The next map will take place on a boat, freighter, or island. The epilogue pretty much sets this up by showing the underwater Cryptids at the end. -
It is nowhere near as bad as everyone is making it out to be. It's just that a LOT of people were expecting so much from this game, and compared it a lot to BOII. The base maps are generally large for a CoD game, but this isn't nearly as bad as people say it is. Also, the graphics do not suck at all. They're just not that colourful when compared to Black Ops II, which many people were trying to get away from. It's also not like any previous Call of Duty in my opinion. Each series (WWII, MW, BO) feels different from each other, and Ghosts is just like that. It doesn't feel like Black Ops II. It doesn't feel like MW3. It's its own thing, and it shouldn't be chastised for not being exactly the same as the previous games.

Awesome, but can you provide some more tips on the boss battle? Like, how effective is the Venom-X? I've tried using it on her and I heard that it gets her to kneel and be exposed, but I can't seem to quite pull it off.

Oh, so it's basically just another "LOL" Easter Egg, but with Snowmen instead of plus Aliens?
-
Yeah, I remember seeing the hive-thing in the trailer for the map pack on Ignition, so when I saw it on the actual map, I decided to shoot it. Then I got the pop up and spent an hour trying to find the other three.

Are you on Xbox 360 or Xbox One?

Now, this achievement is a bit strange. You have to destroy a hive in Nightfall or PoC...but first, you have to find four alien Hives in the new multiplayer maps. 1. Containment -On the southern part of the map, go into a building at the very back. Go up the stairs, go into the second room, then look out the window on your left towards the left. The Hive will be on top of a building outside the map. Shoot it. 2. BayView -Upon spawning on the north side of the map, turn left until you get the edge of the dock, then look behind you toward the dock across the water. There will be a hive underneath the dock. Shoot it too. 3. Ignition -Go into the underground tunnel and go between the three entrances to the surface. It should be right next to you. Shoot it. 4. Fog -Go into the small cave up on the hill and go to the little waterfall. The Hive will be underneath a rock ledge. Shoot it. After you have found and shot all four Hives, go into Nightfall (or PoC) and destroy the first Hive. You'll get 10,000 XP for Extinction as well as the achievement. Enjoy!

I wonder why this hasn't been posted yet. Oh well, it's a great trailer!
