  1. That's the best explanation I've heard so far, but it has a flaw. Why would ANYONE be driving a '60's bus?
  2. Btw, I meant to say Focusing Crystal, not the Focusing Stone. My bad. And lol Electric. No problem, Zen.
  3. It's hard to say WHY Richtofen does things. I can try, but it isn't much beyond speculation. Although I can say that Shangri-La takes place definitely sometime after 1990. This is because of the radios. But the reason why I think 2011 was too far in the future to get the Vril Generator is because the place was abandoned. He probably would've preferred to get it while the place was still functional. As for why he goes to Shangri-La at that time, it's hard to say. At one point in doing the side mission, a Focusing Stone rains from the sky. (Apparently the Focusing Stones are also meteors.) It seemed oddly convenient. However, that happens in the past of Shangri-La, not the "present". However, Richtofen had been there before. (In fact, he was treated a god there.) Perhaps he knew the time delay? Anyway, that's just speculation. The honest real answer I believe to be that Richtofen isn't very accurate with the time traveling. He ended up in many timeframes by accident. @Stop mocking me: That is probably the case, given from how it works in the level.
  4. I long for the day where the weapons in Zombies won't be slivers of the available guns in the entire game. I always thought having a nova gas grenade would be cool. Or a decoy grenade. (Yes it would probably be useless.)
  5. Yes, but Town and Area 51 are far away from each other. We have reason to believe the Bus Driver was stationed near Area 51. But all the various quotes he has indicates he may have been used all across the western United States. From the developer's perspective, the Bus Driver was probably put in a '60's vehicle to match the surrounding setting. From CCC's perspective, perhaps they wanted to have some type of classic throwback design. In any case, it is odd, but the existence of a sentient robot surely raises some eyebrows. Agreed.
  6. A good rule of thumb is that if you haven't heard anything, then there isn't anything to be heard.
  7. What happens after breaking the cycle is literally like asking what happens after the game. All we can do is infer. Since though, that this is a prequel, being in 1933, to the rest of the game, from 1940's onwards, we can assume that this set the stage for future events that we've already seen.
  8. Yes, I now agree, but... there was a time, before Revolution, when I would have sworn you were wrong. Alas, The Great Leap Forward (name says it all) does indeed confirm it HAS to be set in a futuristic or modern setting. It would be a foolish mistake on the Dev's part if it was not. Still though, why the '60's' setting, music and decorum then in Green Run? Why did that one place not evolve through the years? Well, Green Run was a ghost town. I think it may have something to do with the Green Run after which the place is named. It had something to do with a government nuclear project. I'm not too well read on that, though. PINNAZ or Rissole or someone could tell you about that. Also, I do think it made the perfect cover for the Power Facility where they housed "Him".
  9. The ENTIRE world was nuked at the SAME time. Green Run's '60's-looking buildings? Blown up. Great Leap Forward's skyscrapers? Blown up. Nuketown's nuked town? Blown up. Same time. Saaaaaaaame. Time. Great Leap Forward proves it had futuristic technology. Therefore, the time in which the world was nuked was the future. Green Run was just a ghost town.
  10. Keep in mind though that all numbers given are estimations, and they vary widely on the user's skill and strategy. (Some strategies are safer but take more time.)
  11. We haven't heard from Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, nor Samantha since Moon. There's no telling what became of them. But if they didn't die and didn't time travel, then yes, it would mean that they are older.
  12. The word decades means a minimum of 10x2, or 20 years. It can't mean much more because then it makes Marlton's ordeal impossible.
  13. My explanation of that is that Marlton was a child protege. His quotes indicate that he was likely one of the radiation scientists that went to Nuketown. He even had his own laboratory. Marlton took shelter in the bunker and leaves after the missiles hit the Earth, and that would be why he survives the "end of the world". The Bus Driver is near enough to hear his horn but far enough to avoid destruction. He gets on the Bus and later meets the other three. Since Maxis says that Green Run takes place a minimum of 20 years after the end of the world, this means Marlton should have aged 20 years. If he was a child protege in his teens at Nuketown, he would be in his 30's, now. If he had already passed puberty, then his voice would not have changed much. Also, I think Misty was next. And that they got... acquainted... After that Samuel and Russman joined (despite their apparent reluctance), as they talk about an event "Broken Arrow" that they both experienced.
  14. No problem. The nuke dropped on Nuketown. The nuclear spacecraft we see before we play. And the missiles that hit after we play.
  15. Duck's stats weren't 100% accurate.
  16. This is why a leading theory as to the origination of the mushroom cloud is not a nuclear weapon but rather a nuclear spacecraft, the same one detailed in the Nuketown loading screen. This would explain its longevity. Also, it would mean that Nuketown is just unfortunate, being "nuked" three individual times. And Infest, you overlooked one thing: the entire world was nuked at the same time. It wasn't half-nuked in the '60's and half-nuked in the future. So, time travel will not make any loopholes. You can either say Green Run and Nuketown were bombed after they were built or that Great Leap Forward was bombed... before it was built, which of course makes no sense.
  17. Sure. And I was born yesterday. I remembered that Tac had a thread about the Mars theory and either he was the first to find it out or second (behind Telixion) http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=22842 With that kind of attitude, you must have been. You obviously know nothing of the storyline of zombies if you do not understand the importance of the Vril-Ya in the story and how their technology far surpasses even the human imagination. You should probably take a break from theorizing to brush up on your knowledge of the basics. It was the first thing I did when I started long ago.
  18. This is a biased poll. You just told everyone how to vote. Everyone, vote for the '60's because "most" people do. Bah. I would argue most people know it to be in the future.
  19. I appreciate the support, bagel. However, that will not stop me from replying. And yeah, every single page on the CoD wiki has error(s) of some fashion. Die Rise look futuristic? You realize the "future" is only 10 years away, yes? It is 2013. We were supposed to have flying cars by now. Humanity progresses fast, yes, but we often have our goals set higher than we actually attain them. A city in 10 years isn't going to look too much different than one now. And I don't think making Chinese SDC soldier zombies is a reused texture. You'd have to say they were reused textures, rigs, and meshes, which is to say, unlikely. In fact, the textures for the zombies in this map are unseen anywhere else in the game. The textures aren't reused. The SDC is China's government. In fact, in the campaign, unless you directly assassinate the leader of the SDC, China will not aid you in battle. Only when you kill the SDC's leader is China's government finally able to get out of its rein. You misunderstand, my way of life IS information. If you're going to challenge me, ask anyone, you're asking for a challenge. Other evidence for 2025+: There are two refrigerators present in Great Leap Forward that are futuristic-looking. They tell you not only the weather outside but also the traffic and radio. They also have multicolor LED touch-screen displays. Fridges such as this simply do not exist. The technology hasn't developed yet. Also, a poster for a makeup brand says "Since 1996" on it. The phrase "since [date]" is only used in marketing to show off longevity. This is used in Macy's, the Farmer's Almanac, CocaCola, etc., to show they have been around a while. Companies market 40-year anniversaries, not 4-year ones. Therefore, an advertisement displaying this shows us that 1996 is "a long time ago". Also, Shanghai is not in Province 22. Yet this map takes place in Shanghai, in Province 22. How can they both be the same place? Well, they are. How can this be? We must think of an explanation. Here's one: different government of a future China (SDC China). Also, Samuel himself says "I put the F U in future!", and Misty says "This is the future. Kinda." "This is the future." I don't how much more specific you can get. Some other things to note: the computer monitors are flatscreen, showing this is definitely in or past present day; the Jin Mao Tower, a landmark built in 1998, is still standing; the International Zombie Center, an organization that in 2013 does not exist, is present
  20. Okay, I was going to leave you be, allow you to believe what you want, but after reading this, I've changed my mind. Um, no. I have no theory in this regard. What I stated works. You are trying for something more specific, which I do not think works. It's my opinion on your theory, I suppose you could say. The closest theory I have to this is the theory of how what you say doesn't work. The buttons are completely off. The ONLY similarity is the shape and the fact that it HAS buttons and a screen. Narrowing a generic radio to one specific brand of real-life radio is folly. ANDO DiRecorder One more thing, where are your sources? You never really did tell me your sources of this sleek, colored design of the handheld radios. I gave my sources and why I believed it what the year Brock and Gary arrived in Shangri-La. I even gave my sources about the radio model/company/release date. I told you. I don't typically save sources for the purpose of incorrect material. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_recording http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/gram ... 021-e.html It's wikipedia, but there's another source to show it's not full of errors. Not really needed though, in my opinion. The point is not whether I'm right, it's whether you are. But it isn't. Close only counts in horseshoes. It is a fictional radio designed off of radios from the era. Since the era began in 1990. All we know is 1990+. You cannot base it on any specific brand from that era. Well, the Mars theory is something I don't really agree with, neither do I agree with Shangri-La being transported to another location. We know that Shangri-La was transported, and we know that it had the capability of being transported thanks to the Vril-Ya. There is a martian mountain in the game. How did it get there? That is not true: Nacht der Untoten: Unknown, debated to this day Verruckt: Established Perks Shi No Numa: Pictures of characters Der Riese: Identified various purposes of 935 buildings Kino der Toten: Showed how they got there "Five": Had a cutscene instead Ascension: Illustrates Yuri and Gersch Call of the Dead: Basically lays out the movie point Shangri-La: Details catastrophic event Moon: Shows many inventions Green Run: Illustrates '60's stuff Great Leap Forward: Details the intro Alcatraz Island: Shows Al's journal I don't agree with any of that, but I do agree that the loading screens can be mysterious. Yes, and that shows you are not aware of the theory that Shangri-La WAS on Mars. Not is. Was. In the past. Moved by the mighty, mysterious, and alien civilization of the Vril-Ya. It is now on Earth. And that is one reason it is such a mythical site, because it is almost literally... out of this world. Also, the event detailed in the Shangri-La loading screen was not this move. It was something else: http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/vBulle ... ed-5-30-12)
  21. Even if Tac doesn't say it on this thread, there are numerous references to Die Rise taking place past 2025 (futuristic fridges, old 1996 poster, 1998 building, SDC logos, flatscreen monitors, various future quotes, etc.). The game tells us that it takes place both in Province 22 and Shanghai. How is this possible? In 2025, China fell under a new government, the Strategic Defense Coalition. Therefore, a new provincial order is not to be unexpected.
  22. I was making it clear for any viewers, because a lot of people try to pull that ando crap. And are you trying to say that searching "ando radios" in Google is any more justified? Because that's just barbaric. You are using a means of finding a source as justification for the source's existence? That's just ridiculous. According to that type of thinking, we'd all be quite dumb without search engines. I pointed out to you the difference between your radio and the radio. Look at it again. The entire layout is different.
  23. ANDO is a radio manufacturer. Ando Media is simply the first thing to come up when you type in Google, and it is a SOFTWARE packager. It's no more a radio manufacturer than the International Zombie Center is an International Zombie Disaster Center. You must realize that when it comes to the name of a company, coincidences occur. Type in any four letters into a search engine and see you get multiple copies of the same thing. It is FOOLISH to say that a SOFTWARE company makes radios (when you can look on their website and it says otherwise). http://www.andointernational.com http://www.andojapaneserestaurant.com http://www.andomedia.com/login.aspx http://miyaando.com https://www.facebook.com/AndoSalon http://www.andoshoes.gr http://www.ando-shoe.com/home.htm http://www.thaliasurf.com/andoandfriends.html http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/jcfonts/ando/ It is foolish to think that because one of the dozens of "ando"'s has something to do with audio that it is a radio manufacturer. Also, there are many key differences between that radio and the one in the game. Sure, it is kinda close. But it isn't the same. Like I said, it is fictional.
  24. Well, keep up the good work! I find your analogy of Zombies to a seemingly-trivial game like that amusing. :)
