Original Ray Gun is Diferent on Buried!?!
MysteryMachineX replied to OMGItsPatricio's topic in Buried
You could also say the same about the Perks-a-Colas. In Verrückt, the bottles label says Juggernaut & Sleight of Hand. The Juggernaut poster on the wall also said this name. In Shi No Numa the machines advertised the amount of points they cost, rather than the 10cents. And Der Reise, the machines changed back to 10cents & the bottles changed to what they are now - Jugger-nog & Speed Cola. In the Black Ops version, all of the Perks were made to be consistent. That's when the series was at its infancy. However, with the Ray Gun, there is a DISTINCT, purposeful difference. A lot has changed in the past few days. They added a new map with a new type of Ray Gun. They also updated the icons of many things. They also added the Ray Gun Mark II to every map. HOWEVER The new Ray Gun appears SOLELY in Buried. Not in the other maps. They updated all of them to have the Mark II. Why not update the new Ray Gun to make it match? The answer: it means something. Treyarch specifically chose to make two version of the Ray Gun, and two versions of the first version. -
Maxis is Brock from Shangri-La

Brock doesn't have a known last name. -
Original Ray Gun is Diferent on Buried!?!
MysteryMachineX replied to OMGItsPatricio's topic in Buried
I made a post on this. You're not crazy. I firmly believe that the Ray Gun present in Buried was specifically different from the normal Ray Gun to emphasis the evolution of it. You have the normal Ray Gun and the Ray Gun Mark II. But you've also got this thing, a prototype of the Ray Gun Mark II (because the Mark II also has that green stuff), or a Ray Gun 1.5, if you will. So, it goes Ray Gun > Ray Gun 1.5 > Ray Gun Mark II This might sound far fetched but it isn't the first time. Were you aware that there were actually three Thunderguns? Thundergun Mark I > Thundergun Mark II > Thundergun Mark III -
Story Tie Ins and Connections
MysteryMachineX replied to LALakerIVLYFE's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Mob of the Dead is a precursor to the rest of it. It details what happened before Nacht. Die Rise happens after TranZit after the end of the world after Moon after Shangri-La... and so forth... -
Story Tie Ins and Connections
MysteryMachineX replied to LALakerIVLYFE's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I know the feeling: viewtopic.php?f=100&t=18279 Youtube users can be quite callous. Keep in mind though that Buried is still new and hasn't been added yet. -
PLEASE TREYARCH, remove the trample steam from Grief
MysteryMachineX replied to TheBSZombie's topic in Buried
Stop your complaining. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Oh, excuse me. Buildables don't glitch people. People glitch people. People will always find a way to glitch. Removing the buildable won't change that. Just fix the glitch. -
Changing Easter Egg Paths?
MysteryMachineX replied to BlueBlur107's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Personally, I would advise against it. I helped Maxis, and I am sticking with him all the way through. However, if you want to change, just do it. In fact, you're not able to redo a Side Mission you've already done anyway. If I helped Maxis, I can't help Maxis again. I can go back and help Richtofen though. But then I can't do Richtofen. But I could go help Maxis. Back and forth. -
Maxis is Brock from Shangri-La
MysteryMachineX replied to A Drunk Soviet's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Well vril comes solely from Agartha. -
Really? He has a name? Oooooooh. Maxis ceases to be. And yes, sorta, kinda, maybe, no. It's ambiguous.

I can tell you how they "mess up". They don't. It's approximation in the way the game is made. The menu screen is a 2D projection of a 3D image. You have a spinning 3D Earth with 2D icons on a plane in front of it between the model and the screen. When you spin the Earth, the icons move around on the plane. You can tell when you play the game by going back and forth between icons, you'll notice that the icons shift a bit depending on what you have selected. This is because they are simply scripted to move when the Earth moves, but it doesn't get it exactly right. The intro made it clear that they walked from Die Rise to Buried. That whole scene took place on the way there. It indicates their path of travel took them from the Far East to the Middle East through Africa. On the map itself, you see it is in lower central Africa. Where exactly? See Grill's thread on why Angola. Resolution 1295 affected Angola.

Maxis is Brock from Shangri-La
MysteryMachineX replied to A Drunk Soviet's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I don't think so to be honest. I think the only connection is that they knew the name of the place and that they share the same voice actor. Brock is British and lived in the 1990's/2000's. Maxis is German/Scandinavian and lived in the 1940's. -
Like Tac said, they're not 100% pinpoint accurate. I still think Angola due to the Angola reference IN THE NAME.

I forgot about that. But you just reminded me. Yes, there is more than one way to determine which is evil. You can't say which way is "right" per say. But I define evil by intention and thus Kant. Anyway, you made an intelligent point but you undermined by the saying Richtofen was better. Richtofen's intent is awful, and his outcome isn't much better. Outcome v. outcome, stalemate. Intent v. intent, Maxis.

Servant data entries detail 115 reanimating dead cells as a side-effect of the otherwise more useful attributes. Following entry states Reichstag want zombies. Friendly Nazis? How about the fact I met one? Grandfather of a friend of mine. Seen the movie Valkyrie? Not all Nazis were evil. Thirteen times Hitler was almost assassinated by his own men.

How do you think the story will continue?
MysteryMachineX replied to HypeRedemption's topic in Buried
Keep in mind that there were FOUR ways to end Buried. You either did Maxis or Richtofen or helped a combo of both. If you're playing with someone who helped the other, then it'd assume you had a combo ending and start from there. Btw, the combo ending was essentially a stalemate. -
Spoiler much?

Many Nazis were in fact good guys. Keep in mind that the first country the Nazis invaded was their own. Maxis took active steps to thwart Richtofen. He put him on busy-body projects. He told him to stop killing people. He purposefully never released the DG-2. And no. You are wrong. Zombies were created as an accident of 115. The Reichstag found out and said to make more. Maxis always hated zombies. Your hate blinds you.

The run around (nav card talk)
MysteryMachineX replied to Tattoo247's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I made a post on this earlier. There is no explanation for it as far as I can tell. The closest thing I've got is that Richtofen teleports them back to Green Run and then back to Resolution 1295 in between Rounds. -
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you nayrc. I got in a random game of Grief Borough, and all of my teammates left on Round 1. It was me versus four other guys who looked pretty good. I prioritized safety above all else. I was panicking on what to do, but I remembered your strategy. So I hunkered down in that hallway with a Trample Steam, a Ray Gun, and an empty S12 until, on Round 12, every member of the other team died. Thank you.

How do you think the story will continue?
MysteryMachineX replied to HypeRedemption's topic in Buried
Since progress resets after doing all of them, I think that that means Treyarch will be employing some Bioshock-worthy fatalism. -
Maxis. I will see him through 'til the end.
-
You obviously know nothing of evil. Try defining it. It's practically made up. The term evil in itself is fictional. What is evil? It's your perception. Your bias. The Nazis were evil, because America, who won the war, said so. Would've been the same the other way around. Also, nice to know if a kid takes all the cookies for himself that his selfishness is an act of evil. =_=
-
That's close-minded. There's no black and white here, just shades of gray. You know how people say they'd choose you over the whole world? Sometimes it is literal.

Only if the wiki info is verified/abolished.

Richtofen's boss was Maxis. Maxis's bosses were the Nazis. Since Richtofen signed up for them, Richtofen also worked for the Nazis. The Nazis told Maxis to make an army of the undead. Maxis wrote in his personal files that he thought the undead army was going to be a massive failure. Maxis did what he did because he had to.
