Odd, i've never heard of that before. Never seen a post on it either. Anyone else confirm this? I'll try and repro it tonight, but the steps are preeeeetty specific. I'll check the rest of the replay, but i died like a chump 1 or 2 levels later, so i dunno if i managed to pick up another carpenter.

Solo, round 4, handgun and bowie. Just making points and walking around solo. Went up to the ledge from the roof and was fixing windows. Knifed a bunch of zombies and was repairing the window on and off. Knifed a guy and got a carpenter, knifed a few more, repairing the window, got hit in the back/side while repairing. Persistant perk gained. Wasn't barric-aid, the end of the video shows that. At the end of the video i got something else, i think it was ammo, but i don't think that's relevant. Ideas? Died a round or so later, so i didn't get a chance to tinker about and find out anything, really. No time to try and repro, work at 7am is a whore. Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd49Wbq8nx4 note: yes, my window aim was pathetic, i'm tired!

Are the free perks really rewarded for 100% accuracy?
Blakwulf replied to NikolaisVodka's topic in Die Rise
If explosives count towards 100%, then you should be able to get a perk by having a leaper die to a single claymore and knifing the rest? First thing i'm trying when i get home. I think when my friend and i looked into it, we had some clay's down.. that might have polluted the experiment. -

Yup, we checked the replay. Going to try it out a bit more tonight, too. My best guess is that it lets you still count at 100% if one of the players has 0 ammo and the other gets 100% accuracy? Seems like an awful lot of fail-safing if you ask me. Needs more investigation. -

Just a bit more info on this, as i tried out a few variables last night with a friend. Me: Used 1 bullet, 100% accuracy, knifed the rest. Him: Did not fire, knifed all. Result: No perk. Me: Used 1 bullet, 100% accuracy, knifed the rest. Him: Had 0/0 ammo, handgun and knife only, knifed all the leapers. Result: Perk dropped. Me: Used 1 bullet, 100% accuracy, knifed the rest. Him: Used 1 bullet, 100% accuracy, knifed the rest. Result: Perk dropped. -

I usually go early bowie and get the steam a little later on, since i won't get any points for the kills. Always typically try and get all my perks right away so that when/if the leapers drop one it'll be a bonus and not something that i don't want in my 4 priority slots. 7 total in this map, right? -

Gonna try this out when i get home. Honestly, with juggeraid and juggernog in solo, they aren't a problem. If anything, i wait for them to show so i can stock up on some free ammo. -

Oh snap, so you can just galva/knife/stabbie them all to death and you get it? What if a tramplesteam kills them all? -

So that's how you get the perk out of the leapers.. was wondering. But what's this about a bonus? Do you also get 2000 points AND a perk bottle? I've gotten the bottle before, but never noticed anything about extra points. -
Naming rights? I don't know about the rest of you, but at home and when i play online with friends, i don't use any of your 'official' names. Everyone i know calls them whatever they want. Some of them are catchy (Barric-aid), and others i don't like at all. As much as i like this forum, i don't think it's the be-all and end-all of zombie players. If you want the ACTUAL real names, go ask Treyarch to see their bug database and game design documents. :D

I don't see why not. They could have a trigger set up very easily where regardless of your actions, you first need the prerequisite number of perks obtained before the triggering steps do anything. Games do things like this all the time. Frankly, i like the idea. Something that you can't get until you've played the game somewhat ectensively. I really don't think it would have to be an EXACT number, like.. it'll only work if you have 123 perks drank. I've got over 1100 perks drank (i have a drinking problem), so i'll certainly tinker with this when i get home. Why do these things always have to come up while i'm at work and can't jump on it right away!

Ok, so i'm confused as to how this "stacks". If you go into a level, buy a perk, go prone - you 'bank' 1000 points, yes? Then if you go to the next perk machine, buy it, go prone - you bank another 1000? And if you go to a third machine, buy a perk, then do NOT go prone - you get 2000 points back? Also, what the video was saying is that his plan is to go into Tranzit, buy quick revive, go prone, bank 1000, quit, then do it again? Then at some point in any map, he can go in, buy a perk, not prone, then get a bunch of points back? So, going by his logic you could just do it over and over, then start up a Die Rise map with like.. 10,000 points banked? That right?
-
Ah yes.. right. It was the same on Tranzit.

I noticed this as well the first time i played Die Rise when it came out on PS3.. one of the first things i did was an accidental swam dive. I thought afterwards that they made the game easier, as even since then i've been able to take upwards of 3 hits from a zombie. Is the persistent jugg THAT persistent? It's been days and i still have it.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong, since the 'beams' aren't seen on all platforms. If it were intended (and important) it would be in the base game code and spread across all platforms. 99% sure it's a bug. I'm also 99% sure that Tranzit is done as far as EE's go, at least until the last DLC map comes out and we get the NavCard that goes into the Tranzit card reader. As to what that does.. guess we'll find out in half a year or so.

Crawlers still die if you leave them behind on PS3.
-
You can get a very slight FPS drop on the PS3 if you're laying into a crowd of 25+ zombies. I'll see it now and then if i'm in a tight hallway and letting the RPD open up fully. Not enough of an issue to bother me. Kinda adds some chunkyness to it.
-
Well, PS3 is free to play online, Xbox costs a subscription fee. Xbox has a deal that gets them DLC a month earlier too. And as for the WiiU.. um.. well.. i don't know anyone that actually has a WiiU, so i don't know what their online community is like. Or if they even have one.
-
Might maybe be the same as the headshot-perk. Kill more than one head with one shot.. maybe it counts for grenades too?
-
I've got a friend online that just got a new rank icon last night (skull with one knife), while i'm still at the usual skull icon. My stats are higher than his in every single way, yet he's ranked up ahead of me. Do we know what the deal is yet? My KDr is above his, way more revives, doors, perks, headshots, accuracy.. you name it. I've played much more than him though.. i've got ~60,000 kills while he's in the ~30,000 region. Ideas?
-
You can do it with 2 people. Also, i wouldn't suggest going for it unless you have a pile of cash in the bank you're ready to spend on randoming.
-
I'm with you on the jugger-aid going away at lvl 15. Pretty sure that's just in there as a last chance help for people that are really struggling to get to and beyond lvl 20. As for the weapon proficiencies.. eh.... i don't know. I have some time tonight and i'll investigate it. This would be really easy to check on PC with a debug damage display. :/

Occasionally my friend and i will use it downstairs in the PaP room, setting up the turret to aim at the Pap machine for some extra cover. Sometimes we'll put it on the top of the bus facing the rear to clear off the swarm. The turret makes me paranoid though, since even with all the perks in the world it'll still drop you on your ass in 1 shot. Haven't found any good use for the electric trap yet, really.
-
I hear ya, but that leaves the Tranzit forums to us PS3 guys! I've heard, but havn't tried since i don't use them, that the power station glitch still works. I've also gotten the jugger-aid persistent perk, but haven't been able to get the new overkill to work.
