My overall View of 'Moon' (A jumble of ideas and such.)
Superhands replied to Arussianmonkey's topic in Moon
I dunno, if you look at the end of the behind the scene's video Moon you see that symbol with the letters CODZL written on it. Who knows what that could mean... Also one of the guys said it'll be a season finale, so my guess is it might be the end of this chapter in the story but it'll continue in the next Treyarch game. -
True that's very annoying. But I think that's the beauty of the layout of Der Riese - the box always starts in the same place, and it doesn't matter what route you take to the box you'll open up the route to the power switch and Juggernog, and have a spot to camp-out 'til things get heavy. Everyone wins I guess

Nice going man! Yeah that's the problem with W@W solo zombies there's no function for Quick Revive and obviously you don't have any team-mates to pick you up, so one little mistake (which happens fairly often even to the best of players) or something just goes wrong beyond your control and you're probably screwed.
-
Fair do's man, maybe renaming the title to add iPhone version might save any confusion, like I said camping is pretty simple on the iPhone so I can see how the strategy would be effective on that particular version of the game ;)
-
Highest is 64 on solo before suiciding cuz I had to go, probably try and beat it sometimes cuz I haven't played the map very much. Can't go far wrong with looping round the whole map with the shrink gun in hand. Also running a figure of 8 round the whole MPL area is good if you prefer small-area rape trains, which I normally prefer but on this map I find the full-map loop is the easier option. Round 14 is my highest on co-op thus far Hopefully soon I'll get into a game with some good players...
-
Nice, not sure if you're playing on the W@W or Black Ops version, but it's the same strategy apart from not being able to use the Flamethrower on the Black Ops version. I'd stick with the Thompson for the rest of the game for a spraying weapon in that case cuz of the buyable ammo, probably would never bother upgrading it. Either way, if you're good at running loops/rape-trains then this strategy is pretty easy to work with ;)

I think you're missing the point of my strategy, any good solo zombies player will tell you that a flamethrower is one of the best weapons for solo play, assuming you're not camping. Yes, you're bound to run into trouble somewhere along the line but that's why we have a killing weapon such as the Ray Gun to run with when we're not shooting and blast zombies out of our path if need be. It's pretty much common knowledge that the iPhone verson of the game is a LOT - and I do mean a LOT - easier than the console versions of the game, for various reasons. If you we're using a camping strategy on the console versions during solo play, you'd start getting seriously overrun by round 30 and be struggling for ammo where the zombies become hard to kill. That's why we use a looping strategy, and why the flamethrower is such as an effective weapon - it does damage and never runs out of ammo, which obviously is key to survival. Round 60 on the iPhone version of the game is, from my experience, the equivalent to about round 25 on the console/PC version. Even after round 100 on the iPhone version some of the zombies still walk instead of running lol. So consider how much of an effective survival strategy mine is seeing how it's taken me to round 56 at one point. You can go to infinite rounds with a good looping strategy such as this one if it's done right, but with a camping strategy you will become overun sooner or later. So I guess the point I'm making is, if you're playing on the iPhone then your strategy will work due to the lowered difficulty of the gameplay. But if you're playing on the console/PC version do NOT use that strategy for solo play or you won't get far. Whereas a strategy like mine will get you to wherever your skills can take you.

Actually, if I remember correctly JD made a tweet in about November, saying that the maps would be released as DLC "in a couple of months". Obviously it took a lot longer than that, but there was definately indicaton that they would be released at some point.

The Four Guardians ***GROUP REQUEST THREAD***
Superhands replied to carbonfibah's topic in Site News
That'd be great news there's a lot of people wanting to join these groups, I've been tryna get in the Richtofen group for about 3 weeks now so it'd be awesome to see something happen. -
When it comes to solo strategies I always say go for what works for you, not sure what round you've done with this. But personally fr me this strategy has WAY too many flaws, the main one being that you should never use a camping strategy in solo play as you'll get overrun a lot quikcer than a co-op game. ALWAYS use a looping strategy where possible. Obviously you wont be able to loop straght away, but the zombies are weak in the early rounds so it doesn't matter. Try and start your looping at about round 10 as that's when they all start running. For Der Riese I'd say that the Wunderwaffe shouldn't be used as a point gaining weapon as it doesn't gain much points, you'd be better off with a rapid fire weapon or flamethrower. Contrary to what you said about opening the right door and never the left, I do exactly the opposite as this allows you to buy the Thompson, which is great for point building and a good weapon to have in the early stages. You can also buy ammo for it. I'd only switch out the Thompson for a Flamethrower, which is the best weapon for running loops or "rape-trains" as it builds loads of points and never runs out of ammo, kills pretty good as well. Would only recommend using it after round 10 though when you've started looping. Obviously there's no Flamethrower in the Black Ops version so if you're playing that then just stick with the Thompson for the rest of the game, once you start your loop you can buy ammo for it on each lap if need be. As for a killing weapon, I'd use the Ray Gun, very easy to move with and kills quick if it looks like you might be in a bit of trouble. I think the video I made on my Der Riese strategy would help explain all this a bit better: http://callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=14483

My choice of weapons for solo too, on the Black Ops versions anyways. I wouldn't bother upgrading it 'til you get to the point where you have tons of points and have nothing to do with them though as it'll cost a fair bit to buy ammo again. You probably make up the points by using the ammo but still. I'd always go with the Flamethrower instead on solo in W@W, upgraded ASAP.
-
If they was really gonna put the ammo-matic machine in the map but only decided not to becuase of time constraints or whatever, don't you think they would have put it in Kino or another Black Ops map by now? I think an ammo machine is a really bad idea anyways, takes the survival out of the game if you can just buy ammo. I said on another thread like this a while ago, people could just sit by the ammo machine, spam all their ammo and use the points earned to re-buy ammo again.
-
Really depends on what sort of strategy you're using. If you're camping or running a rape-train in one area, then the napalm zombie will always be the biggest problem. If you're running a rape-train round the entire map though then the napalm zombie isn't gonna be a problem, you'll eventually run into him but he'll just explode, you'll take a hit from it and you can just keep walking forwards, so there won't be a patch of fire in the way of your route and all the zombies will be behind you so they'll all be killed. So the full-map train is always my choice for Shangri-La. Baby-gun vs. Shriekers FTW!

I personally would wait for the Black Ops versions release, not far away. The game play seems to be more fast paced and exciting. Obviously there's graphical improvements as well. Not to mention that not many people play W@W these days and when the new map pack comes out there will be hardly anyone playing it I'm guessing, people are gonna go nuts for these maps on Black Ops. Also it's better for solo cuz you have a working Quick Revive. I don't own the Black Ops version of the maps just yet but I have played them numerus times on my friend's PS3, definately gonna pre-order them when they're available on the Steam store.

Hey guys, I made this pic a while ago to post on another forum to demonstrate the best loop for gathering the zombies up when running "trains". I've personally done round 112 running this route before giving up, you really shouldn't go wrong if you have a Thundergun and Juggernog. Just thought I'd post it up here to see if I can help some of you guys raise that Ascension solo record! (Can also be used in co-op play of course, actually even easier cuz there's less zombies comin' at ya). You pretty much just walk round, only sprinting when going down the long centre line, and of course if you take a few hits then sprint a little ahead of the pack to get out of trouble. Remember, ALWAYS have the Thundergun out when gathering the zombies, if you get in trouble it'll save your ass if you react quickly.

what is your highest lights out round on acension
Superhands replied to onedeadlytroy88's topic in Ascension
I've yet to try this actually, be interesting to see what I can do... -
I'm pretty sure they're just gonna be the exact same maps as the ones included in the special editions.
-
I personally can't find any negatives in the classic maps finally being released. It's pretty hard to get into a decent game on W@W nowadays so it will be much better to be able to find games easily on Black Ops. Plus the gameplay in Black Ops is much more fast paced and exciting so there's that to it. As a huge zombies fan I never really give a second thought to paying £11.49 for a map pack knowing full well that I'll only really be playing the one zombie map, so paying that amount for 5 maps is a serious no brainer for me.

The Four Guardians ***GROUP REQUEST THREAD***
Superhands replied to carbonfibah's topic in Site News
I've been trying to get into the Richtofen group for about 2 weeks now but I'm not getting any replies to my PMs, hopefully if I post my leaderboard pic here I'll get some help I'm a PC player so hopefully one of the admins has a Steam account so I can verify that it's me if need be. Round 51 CoTD: -
Na all the old weapons have been replaced with the exception of the Wunderwaffe and the wall weapons. Very sad to see the flamethrower not present, it was the ultimate solo weapon :(
-
But as I've already said, there are hardly any servers on W@W anymore, so what's the point in having all of these features if you can't play with anyone?
-
You just don't get it do you? You paid for the privilage of having the maps 6 months earlier than all of us, that's why you're out of pocket compared to the guys that are only just getting it cuz they've waited an extra 3/4 of a year. It's like Black Ops itself, when we first bought the game it was about £40 anywhere you'd find it. You can pick it up brand new for £20-30 now since it was released a while ago. A lot of people wait for the game to go down in price before they buy it (therefore waiting a few months before they get it), same thing with these maps really, or in my case as I'm a pc gamer I had no option to buy the maps in the first place. So damn right they should be cheaper now that I only get a chance to get them 9 months late. It is fun being able to get custom maps yes, but the whole point in getting the maps for Black ops is because the play has improved and there's no players on W@W these days. This thread is ridiculous, 3arc will never see this as a bad choice - okay so they'll upset a few selfish assholes, can't please everyone, but on the whole they're making a lot of their customers happy and making money at the same time. I know if I was in your position I wouldn't have minded paying a little extra to have the maps so much earlier than everyone else, and I'd also be happy that now loads of people are getting them so it'd be easy to get into a co-op game with my friends on em. Also to the guy above about the mod tools, those are just a beta release, the proper mapping and modding tools never get released until after ALL of the map packs are released, if people thought about it they'd stop whining. Not being an asshole just saying, why would Treyarch start letting everyone make their own maps when they haven't even sold us all of theirs yet?
-
You just seem really selfish and bitter. You've had the exclusives for half a fucking year, and you're still bitching. Us PC players didn't even get the fucking option to get a special edition for the W@W maps, so for us to at least get an option now is fair. You also ask "WOULDNT YOU HAVE LIKED 5 BRAND NEW MAPS?" - as most of us here are mostly zombies players and the classic maps is something a lot of us have been waiting for, the answer would, for most of us, be NO. You said you were just stating your opinion and didn't expect to get flamed, maybe people would have respected your opinion if it wasn't so selfish and written in a less condescending tone.

Two player strategy GUARENTEED to get past round 30
Superhands replied to xFlamingC17x's topic in Kino Der Toten
That's what people mean when they say "looping round the stage". But it's NEVER a good idea for 2 people to run the same lap if it's a small area.
