  1. I played iPod Zombies so much that when I played Kino on PS3, I was knifing the first rock and wondering why it wasn't activating. The others thought I was a noob haha!
  2. Brutus sounds very much like the Announcer in Grief. But I'm curious as to what role the Warden plays, when it seems like all of this points to Stanley/Brutus? Altogether, I'm not really sure about this map anymore haha. Taking me back and forth between something I'm not even sure about.
  3. Just remember "Him"'s got a heart. It's electrified, but it's definitely something that stands out, since it looks like the only solid on his body.
  4. And thus begins my journey to convince the Zombies community keep the N4. In all honesty, I will be pissed off if they're killed off. However the "100% unsanctioned" comment makes me think Vonderhaar is just trolling, right? EDIT: Checked his twitter, he wrote it 10 hours ago. But his been retweeting O4 fanboys, so he obviously thinks the same. I'm afraid with his status in the community that it could influence Treyarch's decision to do such a thing.
  5. As the others have said, it's most likely a rough/first draft. Commonly with voice acting, a first draft is done. Notice how the tones and such and the distorted Richtofen was there? The VA's for the N4 and Richtofen probably used it as a template to copy off. It's a bit hard for a developer to explain how to sound, how to talk like and such. What's a better way than to do it yourself so you know you got the right feeling and tones across? Much easier to work off a near perfect recording than be told how to do it.
  6. Don't worry, I love them. The problem is, we have literally only had them for two maps, whilst we've had the O4 for 6 maps (plus BO Nacht and Verruckt, and we hear them in CotD). Basically, they are not developed as much as the O4. Give another couple of maps, and maybe people will turn around. I know the first time I heard the O4, I honestly thought they were stupid and didn't like them. I like them now, but I do think they are grossly overrated (like Elena. dont get me wrong, I'm probs her biggest fan, but give Clark a break. 2 songs compared to 7 is unfair). Gets a bit stale and one-sided having the same characters, and I look forward to their character development with Samantha. Another problem I think is that they tried to piggy back their personalities a little. Misty is like Tank, Samuel like Edward, Russman like Nikolai, and Marlton like Takeo. Treyarch need to give them their OWN personalities to stand out on their own, not be reminiscent of past characters. But I honestly can't wait to hear more of the N4's back story, as well as their enevitable meeting with the O4.
  7. There should be a way to tell the quitters from people who actually have to quit. If there was some formula to calculate when you leave, say during a Down, or say 5 seconds after bleed out, I'd support. Honestly, there needs to be a stat that shows how many games you have quit. It would be low for people who genuinely have to quit, while the rage quitters would have a high number. If you could see that stat in the lobby, it would definitely make me think twice before starting a game with randoms.
  8. I think the Retriever could appear again. And as a box item! But I reckon that you wouldn't be able to upgrade it, so it wouldn't be insta-kill as the Redeemer. Throw in the QED or another tactical grenade, and you have to choose between a reusable tactical item that deals waning damage as the rounds go by, or a 3 uses tactical grenade that does a certain effect. I can tell you right now I'd have difficulty choosing between the two, depending on the other Tac grenade. Some back story into the N4 I would like. But more than anything, I want the Pentagon Thief and/or the Bon-fire Sale to return. Could've had so much potential with these two, it'd be funny to hear Marlton and rest of the N4's thoughts on a boss zombie.
  9. I believe the orange glow is in fact Hell's Retriever. I mean, most often you will feed the 3 dogs before heading off, so almost always you'll see it on your first trip. Like Moon, Alcatraz has two seperate maps. Alcatraz itself, and Golden Gate Bridge. GGB is in fact located diagonally under the Alcatraz map. You can tell by having someone go down on Alcatraz while you're on GGB, and the Revive sign will just be up in the sky randomly. But unlike Moon, you don't all have to get on the Icarus or electric chairs to change map location. In Moon, most assets were unloaded on Griffin Station if you were at Area 51, and vice versa. But this isn't the case for Mob of the Dead. There seems to be a draw limiter for the whole map, but it doesn't seem to apply to the Retriever and it's aura for some reason. But yes, you'll notice that when the Icarus suddenly just changes it's arc, that is when you were teleported/moved to GGB under Alcatraz. Go in Theatre, and you should still be able to see the Box light before the Icarus has crashed.
  10. It will definitely be interesting for sure. If Sledgehammer is indeed part of the developing companies, that means we have 3 companies essentially making the same game with their own views and what they believe is good in it. Though unlikely, what if Sledgehammer took over Treyarch's spot, and they began doing a Zombies only title? But yeah, depending on Sledgehammers game, it could make and break them. Might cement them into CoD history and they'll be a central developer, or maybe not. I really hope they don't do a future or present-era game. A mid-late 90's game would be nice, like WaW or BO. Definitely reckon that there will be a Ghosts 2 though  Oh and I do reckon they'll do mini update/DLC's. Hopefully not payable like Personalization Packs, but a small update once a month to add Survival, Turned or Grief to a map.
  11. Thank you guys and everyone else! I've realized that "BEGINNING" can also be "BIG ENDING". So: Let Go And The Big Ending Will Become The End Of course, that doesn't really make much sense since it is an obvious statement saying an ending will become and end. But I just wanted to get it out there in case someone could make something of it.
  12. Wow, thanks for the info liltaz! I never really knew much about the geometric figures, so thank you. Regarding Puer or "The Boy", well there might be some subtle connection if any. It is a representation of war and male sexuality among other things. Of course, I think of Richtofen's homosexuality when read I think of the second part, but I honestly don't think it has anything to do with it, so we'll move onto war. Of course, this whole debacle started over war. Maxis agreement with the Nazi party to make weapons for war, and in turn not manufacturing Edwards DG-2 as promised led to the events that started it all. Than you have the many themes of war throughout Zombies. Samantha vs. Richtofen, Maxis vs. Richtofen, Humans against Zombies, Humans against Humans (Grief), Humans against Vril-Ya, Humans against Demonic Controllers (MotD), and all the little things within them; Maxis' Nukes, Rivalries, CDC Bombing, etc. I could go on and on about the themes of war in Zombies. And as a little extra, Puer is astrologically associated with Mars. Now we know there are certain links with Mars and Shangri-La that are definitely present. So all that may help with Puer's relevance. Of course that is if these Geomantic Figures are relevant to the storyline, which hopefully they are. :)
  13. Nacht: Grief and Turned would work well here. Verruckt: Grief definitely, but it would have to be 2v2 on each side, so you can grief the other team from the start. Shi No Numa: Grief in the central building only, with all 4 exits inaccessible, so no Flogger or Gondola. Turned maybe, but only in one of the four sections and it's building. Maybe make it random each game? Cause all four have a real great map layout. Der Riese: Hmm, well it seems too big and open for Grief or Turned for me. But teleporters would be a great mechanic. So maybe if only Spawn, the two side buildings and Teleporter A were accesible, that could work? Locked debris on the stairs so no accessing the bridge. The walls that are up near the clock when the powers off would be up as well. Kino: Theatre and possibly Lobby would be a great place for Grief and Turned. All other doors would be unbuyable. Five: All 3 levels would be suitable for Turned and Grief, with Elevators obviously inaccessible, and Basement teleporters would only connect with each other, never War or Top Rooms. War Room DEFCONS would work as normal. Top Room would have built traps already with no access to teleporter as well. Thief would appear on all 3 Grief levels with greatly increased health. (Other team could slow and block players so Thief essentially "aides" them. And Turned would be glorious on Basement with all them teleporters 8-) ) Ascension: The main building (Centrifudge, staircase with MPL, Jug, Stakeout and Power) as a Grief level (This means small outside access where that crashed rocket thing is). And the Stamin-Up area to the Lunar Lander area for Turned. As a 3rd possible level for Grief and Turned, the main outside area (with the Gun trap, PhD, MP5k). CotD: Grief for the whole lighthouse, 74u area and Stamin-Up. Grief for the whole ship (Though the power area would be inaccessible after jumping off that part, so that would be a problem. So maybe if debris was added on the spawn bridge by M14, and by the spawn box so only the island and path the to ship are available, that could work). Turned in just the spawn area. (Water could definitely slow down Zombies). Shangri-La: Could probably do several Turned maps. Power-Stakeout room (Under Spawn Geyser), Maze room-Waterfall(Slide would be blocked), and Spawn-MPL/Mine Cart area. For Grief, Maze Room-Waterfall-MPL-74u. To get to each area, you'd take the Mine Cart to Waterfall, and the Waterslide to the 74u room. If just those methods are used to switch sides, than we can use Spawn as well if we want? But it takes away the gimmick kinda. Moon: Receiving Bay and outer area for Grief and Turned. MPD/Power Room for Turned. Biodome for Turned and Grief, Tunnel 6 for Turned, Tunnel 11 for Turned, and finally MPD, Labs and 74u area for Grief. Maybe even Area 51 for Turned (and No Mans Land as a selectable mode, customised you could have a Grief style with 8 people for extra chaos). Tell me what you guys think? Moon has a lot of opportunities, but I'm loving the Shangri-La Grief were you have to use the Mine Cart and Waterslide to access both sides. :)
  14. You use to be able to do that, but they patched it. My friend and I can't do it anymore, because right at 1, we back out the second controller and it backs us out to the main menu. Never use to do that. Just allowing Custom Matches with no changes and Closed Lobby to work would be fine for me. Exactly the same.
  15. I'd rather BO2 weapons. Put's a new spin, like the Classic Maps. If I wanted a Commando, I'd play BO1. Not to mention, they would only get one PaP Upgrade since they're BO weapons. But I'd prefer they'd work full time on the new maps. If I had to choose one map to reappear, it would be Kino. I see that as a classic map and basically the map that propelled the Zombies craze forward with BO.
  16. Bouncing Betties instead of Claymores. Could've put them in MotD, new or old. New would be interesting though. Smoke Grenades in Grief and Turned. And maybe even the Guardian made from scraps and everyday items as a buildable. Microwave, Tri-Pod and a Battery. Could falter at times like the Turbine. Also, shouldn't this be in Future Zombies?
  17. Would like to bring this thread back from the grave. It's unfortunate Hellhound has left, but, he may have possibly been onto something. I was watching Rise of the Planet of the Apes the other day, and during the movie, there's a brief scene where it shows a TV advertisement for a couple of seconds. The advertisement says “Icarus Entering Mars Atmosphere” and shows a rocket launch. Later on, it says that the vessel is "Lost In Space" on a newspaper. For those of you who haven't watched the original, that was a nod and cameo easter egg to the spaceship that held the humans, which returned after 2000 years to the now apocalyptic earth, which they don't realize and think it's another planet. In a later movie, there is another spaceship called Icarus, which this is also referenced to. Later on during the climax, the final fight scene takes place on the Golden Gate Bridge, with some minor destruction to it. Why am I saying these things? Well, they may not have to do with Zombies at all, but countless times in Zombies, we see inspiration from Indiana Jones. Who's to say they they found inspiration from this as well film series? Though small and really nothing to do with the film, we have Icarus from Mars and an unfinished Golden Gate Bridge. But yeah, the point of this post was to expand on some more similarities between this and MOTD, and that ROTPOTA may have inspired some elements of it.
  18. I dream of a time where consoles are viewed equally by everyone, and they all receive DLC at the same. ;)
  19. Can someone grab a picture? I went into Tranzit Solo but the two newspaper's textures were still the same as always.
  20. So basically, we can still gain Persistant Upgrades, but they're just disabled? Makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised at all, because we can still see NavCards even though they have nothing to do with the map. Those are joined to our profile, and so are Persistant Upgrades. So they may have just disabled the green light animation and its effects. Easy way to check is to not have Faster Revive, revive 17 times in MotD, quit and than check Tranzit or Die Rise.
  21. Just wanted to say that I was playing Turned non-stop before Uprising came out for us, gained around 600 deaths or downs alone from it. After about 4 games of MotD, (all of which were kinda crap except for the 4th game, got 37, round 1500 kills, 500 head shots and funnily enough, exactly 200,000 points altogether), imagine my surprise when I see that I'm now Knife rank. Now, I had been a Skull since BO2's release, and with my obsession for Turned, I definetly and surely thought I would soon be Crossbones. Some additional information; I consider myself quite good at Turned, only really losing due to lag or someone playing the same way I do. That might have something to do with it. Anyway, just thought you'd guys like to know incase it helps. :)
  22. But they're not random letters, they're the last letter of each maps respective mode. If there's a message, TEDDY could definetly fit. Could it hold some merit? Sure. But it could also be a coincidence. We won't know until DLC 3's announcement. Whether it is or not, I don't think it has anything to do with FEAR. RU--, maybe, but FEAR had to with the Cold War, RU-- (LE?) probably has to do with Menedez' revolution, Cordis Die.
  23. Thanks for doing this man, you got me to 38 on I think my 3rd time Solo maybe? I was wondering if there was potential with the Jug camp spot, and thankfully there was. Had to do the Retriever rounds on 21 and 22, since I was still learning the whole process of getting it, and surprisingly I found it easy, with you a few annoyances here and there but yeah. Than after that, I started running the laundry room with X2 Ray and FSIRT, with the Retriever and Redeemer as a back up thing. Obviously this got harder as it went on, so I decided to try out the Acid Trap/Cafeteria strategy by swapping out the VitWit for FSIRT. I wanted to get The Sweeper like you point out, but it was mid 30, and I didn't want to risk moving the box for a Fire Sale. So I kept Ray as more a Insta-Kill/crawler dispenser. But I can safely say I love this strategy, and I love this map because of it. So thank you! Oh yeah, I got Knife rank because of this game, and I seriously wasn't trying or even thought I'd ever get it. I thought I was more closer to downgrading to 2 bones than anything, but yeah. Just another reason I love your strat and map. Quick Question: What's the usefulness of the Golden Spork regarding this strategy? I didn't attempt to get it because the steps looked complicated, but I might get it next time if it can help in some way.
  24. I'd love to play with you, but I'm on Playstation unfortunately. Off topic, but I have read your posts on the CoD Forums about Benn, and I have to say they are some of the funniest things I have ever read (in a good way), and I completely agree with you. But yeah, as Seanolith said, you seem like a really swell guy who would be great to play with. :)
  25. Awesome work man. I felt like I was reading an exciting novel that drew me in to their world. You have a way with words haha.
