Origins EE Is Possible Solo(With Video Link)
MegaAfroMan replied to ApocalypticSk8r's topic in Origins
Wasn't Mob of the Dead solo-able Flammen? I thought I heard it was once. Never tried it myself though. -
So far (I have used all but none past round 30) I think it's really a player preference. Lightning works well for me as I like to run tight trains and high five the zombies when I turn around. Ice is good for somewhat larger trains, which is much more common. Wind is like a thunder gun throw back. Charge it up and let it fly at a tight clump of zombies and then you'll see most, if not all, dead within a few seconds. Fire is the one I've used the least actually, but from what I've seen, it's just as good as the other staffs. The key point with all of them is, you have to know how to use it, and it has to fit with your style. I'm sure if you start looking into potential kills, kills per shot, ammo capacity, reaction speed, and etc past round 30 or 40, some staffs with be technically better than others, but foryour casual game to round 30 or so, all of the staffs are very exceptional. I applaud Treyarch for finally giving 7s a map with 4 wonder weapons, so all players can have one.

He has a point. The completion of the egg before the cutscene opens up a wonderful training location. I think it is worth looking around the other parts of the map and listing ALL the rewards you get for each step (upgraded melee for example).

The Partially Cyclical Omnipotent Samantha Theory
MegaAfroMan replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in Origins
It has to be prior to the conclusion of WWII, or else it would be highly unlikely that Samantha would refer to WWI as "The Great War". -
The Partially Cyclical Omnipotent Samantha Theory
MegaAfroMan replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in Origins
Fair enough, it could very well be coincidental or a running gag. I suppose the burden of proof is on me then... challenge accepted. I will be back. Unless I disprove my own theory. Then, I'll just disappear into the mist and hide my shame. The solid facts are: She refers to WWI as the Great War, which has all but died out because WWII was far worse, so it must be before the conclusion of WWII, yet there are air raid sirens to be heard in the background. So we must be in a war. The only war that air raid sirens would be heard in before the conclusion of WWII but "long" after WWI, would be WWII itself. Therefore 39-47 I believe the time range must be. However we know that near the end of WWII is when all of our events take place involving the O4 in WWII, so it must be early 40's. Unless the Air Raid sirens are for a fictional war, and WWII never happens, but I'd say that that is much less likely and more complicated than saying that they are in Germany during the beginning of WWII. -
Fill Soul Boxes with Templar Souls? Round 1 Fists.
MegaAfroMan replied to yourmapper's topic in Origins
This would be theoretically possible in solo if you were patient with the one box near stamin up and the one box near jug. The other two wouldnt. However I can tell you, it does not work. I have tried. Also, interestingly enough "dug up" zombies dont appear to have souls either. -
The Partially Cyclical Omnipotent Samantha Theory
MegaAfroMan replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in Origins
Hm, perhaps you have a point, you'd think he would stop hiding his resentment towards Richtofen at least after they opened the portal to Agartha for him, if he was faking it at all. Although I do still believe it could be a reason why he retains his memory and can break the cycle this time around. It just seems too coincidental that Maxis has spent all of BO2 (except the finale on Buried) communicating solely through electrical devices, then we have a buildable electric device which Maxis speaks through, yet again. -
You guys do know that just because Samantha called Richtofen "Uncle Eddy" in a quote, doesnt mean he is her uncle, right? Samantha probably feels almost like a mother to the zombies, so when he takes control of the zombies from her, she still comforts them by saying "uncle" in a motherly fashion.
-
I tried it myself in solo with the first generator and I can tell you it cut me off after 100 points. in solo you spend 200 points on the generator, and it gives you 300 back. If he killed 4 zombies he'd have 340 points wouldnt he? I believe you only lose the bonus if you get greedy and try to go for 11 kills or more.

The Partially Cyclical Omnipotent Samantha Theory
MegaAfroMan replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in Origins
I've never heard of Maxis building the Aether Projectionist, or the Difference Engine, or any device meant to search through the Aether. I thought the experiments at Kino der Toten were attempts to brainwash zombies and/or people with projections of certain images and sounds onto a screen. I believe that is where the term "trust barrier" popped up in a radio at some point as well, because it wasnt working. Also Agartha and the Aether are not the same, for the second time. Maxis knows Samatha is not in the MPD, he has been interacting with Richtofen, especially in Buried. He knows that he is in control, and he seems very desperate to reach Agartha to free his little girl after the N4 empower him in Buried. I'm pretty sure he knows where Samatha is. How though, I'm not 100%. MMX, I think our Maxis Drone may have a bit more importance than I intially thought. Being a drone, it is electrical, it's something our Aetherial Maxis can control. In the Aether he can reach through time and space to influence or even completely control the drone. Richtofen's little attempt to preserve his brain didn't actually work, but Maxis from "the future" was able to to still control it, and Richtofen simply assumed that his procedure had worked. Maybe. Maybe not. :P -
Origins. The Start and the End, or the End and the Start?
MegaAfroMan replied to Wooodd's topic in Origins
I dont think it's very mature to be implying that those of us who do not share your belief in this not having all been a childs game are immature. Yes it was a game to Samantha, that was how I believe she saw her control, to her this whole thing this whole time is just like playing with dolls. She doesn't see the difference. That's how I took the ending. The twist for me was her dad stating that he had a plan. However, I do have to join in on the applause for Treyarch managing to throw us completely off at the very last minute again. Bravo. -
that is true, although I wouldnt say "desperately" clinging to making it "real", as we have seen stranger things than omnipotent little girls not wanting to be god, but rather to be a little girl once again. My view is, that's how she sees her control in her mind. It's just playing with dolls, she's back in her comfort zone before all this ever started. Even though she really isn't. But yes, this really has split the community terribly, and unless there is some info still to be found in the map, I feel like it will be an awkward and rough 2 years, if Treyarch doesnt say anything at all about this ending.
-
No, you can only get 100 points from them, and when you reach that threshold you no longer get your 100 point bonus attached to your refund for filling the generator. It is a lot more beneficial to just fill it up as quickly as possible.

The Partially Cyclical Omnipotent Samantha Theory
MegaAfroMan replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in Origins
This is brilliant. This is the first theory I've seen where someone hasnt just given up and said "Origins is just a game, but maybe the rest of the maps arent.." Your point about the cycles is excellent. It makes me wonder whether our Mob of the Dead cycle affected this timeline some how, refers to the same cycle, or was just a device to mentally prepare us to come to the conclusion you have, by showing how similar the maps are, then leading us to realize, it has all been a cycle, this whole time. -
Origins EE song: Archangel - Elena, Malukah & Clark
MegaAfroMan replied to RdJokr's topic in Origins
Every song in game thus far (with the obvious exceptions of the song on FIVE and the Jonny Cash number) has a specific point of view... what the hell are we supposed to do with 3 singers? I have to say this is awesome though, although I wish Nova's voice was a little more distinguishable. I can pick out Elena and Malukah but not him. So I'm assuming he's in the harmonies and possibly the garbled rasp. EDIT: after listening another few times, I think I'm recognizing his voice more in some places that i didnt quite think was him. This is the greatest thing. Although I dont think it's my favorite piece. It's got novelty for having all of our zombie singers (Except A7X) but musically I prefer a few others, just as a personal preference. -
are most zombie players anti-social?
MegaAfroMan replied to R102609's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I know exactly what you mean. Most of the "talkers" either have higher pitched voices, and very little knowledge, and are often narrating their gameplay and making their own sound effects, or, they're crabby and insulting. Of course there are also the stoners, which like to talk about being stoned. So I'd have to agree that at least seemingly for myself there arent many social good zombie partners on Public Lobbies. They all have friends to play the maps with, I'm sure. :P -
Regardless, the box light doesnt really tell us much, as it was blue during both Richtofen and Samantha's ruling I believe.

DLC 4 "mode" called Gateway? (FEAR TEDDY)
MegaAfroMan replied to Electric Jesus's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I find it nonsense as FEAR is the first letter of the Black Ops DLC packs (not necessarily even zombie related) and then the last letter of the Black Ops 2 Zombies Storyline Gamemodes so far happens to spell TEDD. However you have to accept that T, E, and D are very common ending letters. Just in that last sentence it went "r, u, e, o, t, t, d, e, y, n, g, s," You see 2 "e"s and 2 "t"s and a "d". It could very well be a coincidence. -
CoD:Z's Official Persistent Upgrades List!
MegaAfroMan replied to AlphaOmega's topic in General Zombies Discussion
You are incorrect. In Call of Duty since CoD 4 (I believe) and in Call of Duty Zombies (after Nacht der Untoten) "perks" refer to a purchasable upgrade. You do not have the opportunity to purchase any of these persistent upgrades. Furthermore, Treyarch has refered to them in previous patch notes as "persistent upgrades". if THEM naming something doesnt matter, then neither would the names that they gave our characters, maps, perks, weapons or power ups. They deliberately named it. To call them anything other than persistent upgrades is incorrect. It isnt a capital offense, but it is wrong. About the thread. It's good, but I swear I remember seeing a bunch of these after Buried was released, at least detailing all the new perks. A lot of the information I see in here is somewhat incomplete or incorrect. I'd recommend more research, and perhaps some play testing. It's good to get community help, but you as the thread writer have to do a lot yourself. Dig around in the first few pages of the Buried forum and I'm sure you'll find the threads I'm referencing. I can see this being helpful, as I don't remember if any of the existing threads contain ALL the persistent upgrades, but it needs much more verification, at least for it to be a resource I would use. Thanks for putting in the time to write this, I'm sure it will help some people, and I look forward to seeing this thread expand and improve. -
I personally couldnt get the Sniper Perk to work on Die Rise either, but it could have been a fluke.

ATTN Treyarch (Please fix) - Green mist + Paralyzer is OP
MegaAfroMan replied to Dahniska's topic in Buried
It's not camping when you are using an infinite ammo weapon AND the zombies are running away from you after every horde you kill until your weapon cools down enough to kill another horde. I love the available camping spots. The locations are great. The Paralyzer is great. Vulture aid is great. Vulture Aid + Paralyzer is far too easy though. It is NOT camping when you have no concern for ammo and the zombies are running away from you. All they need to do is to make it so a zombie that is killed via the paralyzer without taking ANY damage from other weapons CANNOT drop green gas. To those that say "Stop complaining" or "if you dont like it, the dont use it" are missing the point. It's not that we feel it is cheap and underhanded. It's that it makes it too easy to "water down" the leaderboards. Yes the leader boards are not 100% accurate, but they still give you a good idea of where you are related to other people. Treyarch does an okay job at removing terrible glitchers, so there isnt usually any round 2000's on the board. I personally like to figure out what percentile I am within, and if anyone and their dog can sit in one spot, hold down Right Trigger, then move a few steps to stand in green gas for 30 seconds and then repeat until they reach round 50+ then it makes people who actually are fighting by the skin of their teeth, holding out in a camping spot with traps and an LMG, or dogding and training in the clearings look and feel worse about their final scores. -
Your Favourite Map With...
MegaAfroMan replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Favorite layout- I'd have to either give it to Great Leap Forward, or Alcatraz Island. Both are great mixtures of outrageously tight spaces, and nice open areas. Using the Trample Steam to leap across giant gaps in Die Rise is endlessly fun, and just traveling through Alcatraz, or hearing the thematic music cue up as you activate the gondola is always great as well. Favorite Starting Room- Moon. No Mans Land is the greatest thing ever. However since it's almost it's own unique thing, if I had to pick a "regular" starting area, I'd go with Verruckt specifically for Co-op, the split start is great, and something I wish they had played around with more. Der Riese is always memorable with the hidden radio, and other visible easter eggs viewable straight away. Favorite map with the best wall weapons- Resolution 1925 definitely. The placeable weapon outlines, and the PDW, AN-94, and SVU are all just great options to have. Although, I do miss guns like the STG and Tompson and Trench Gun from the W@W maps. Map with the best wonder weapons- Oh gosh... it may just be because it is new, but the Paralyzer has stolen my heart. Infinite ammo, the ability to fly, and if you're particularly skilled, help your teammates to fly, and of course burn through zombies is just an amazing package. Plus I love the design. Although I loved the Sliquifier, I just wish it wasnt always a scramble to find the last piece and then pretending like you didnt have it until everyone else left. Even after it was nerfed, it is still a very powerful wonder weapon if you use it right. I understand it stops OHKing at 100, but honestly if I make it to 1000, I'll be perfectly fine with anything that is thrown at me. Also, Moon with the QED, Gersh, and Wave Gun was great. That was equipment/tactical heaven. aaand Call of the Dead is often forgotten, the Scavenger was cool, and the Hyena Infra-Dead had the best scope in all of call of duty. Also it made an awesome sound when you fired it. The VR-11 was also underrated. What other gun could "cure" a zombie, and turn your partners into Vrill powered Juggernauts. Seriously, get the VR-11 and just empty the entire gun's worth of ammo into your partner. They will be invincible. Do that pack-a-punched, and I'd be surprised if you told me they werent able to single handedly carry your 4 man team. Okay I'm done. Favorite way to access the Pack-a-punch- Der Riese/ascension (they were practically the same). It made it not ridiculously easy, but still not a pain in the ass, like Shangri-la or Moon or MotD or Die Rise or TranZit . All of those took too much repeat preparation in my opinion. Especially if you like to play with randoms, as I do. Except Die Rise. Die Rise is there because I've had too many bad experiences with the Pack a Punch leaving with my gun still inside. Map with the best traps- Resolution 1925 has some awesome buildable traps. The head Chopper is great. Otherwise, I've always felt sentimental about Kino Der Totens electric traps and the theater auto-turret. Map with the best Special Enemies- I loved the concept behind Shangri-la's enemies, but they did get annoying sometimes. I personally loved the hectic nature of the Monkey Rounds on ascension. It was a pain (for me) on solo, but co-op was great for that. Also the concept of the Ghosts in Buried is cool, having them drain your precious points doesnt make them awful game ruiners, but it still adds an element of risk in engaging them. Best way to get the free perk bottle- Buried, fighting the ghost ladies isnt terrbile, but it isnt necessary something you'll have happen all the time without actually trying. Killing George was always memorable too. I've got a new one for anyone who would like to answer it. Map with the best environment/atmosphere. Mob of the Dead. The Satanic shrines, hanging corpses, and thematic music just grips me everytime I play, along with the eeriely chilling hidden song and fun easter egg song, and complete remake of the mystery box just takes the cake. although after thinking about it, Shangri-La is just beautiful to look at. The sunset, strange mountains in the distance, sunset, eclipse, decaying temples, and decaying monkeys are majestic. -
I've noticed a lot of new green poofs. I feel like we will discover several weapon specific persistant upgrades.
