Cody! You are the air beneath my wings!
-
Undead reintroduced himself, Tac made a new thread, and now this? Life is amazing. Now we just need Tom and Superhands to return from the dead and most of my "generation" will be back online! I cannot wait for Covy's return. I shall call him Julio once more!
-
It could indeed be what you suspect, but it also may be a reticle for one of the new personalization packs they're putting out. Either way, nice find!
-
It's not just efficent, it's also necessary. In order for your system to understand the strings of code refering to the new weapon camos, it needs to have those weapon camos taught to it. So things like the peacekeeper, and weapon camos and such that ALL players can see redardless of DLC are actually included in updates.

Tom! Welcome back.

Hello and welcome to CoDz! If you're not used to it, forums may be a bit of an adjustment, but I assure you that it is worth it. You'll meet many new people, some you'll like, some you'll respect. You'll also learn how to type up easy to read threads and posts. The message from Tech Support above me is filled with plenty of useful links and threads. Feel free to stop and ask pretty much anyone any question you have at anytime. To answer your questions: Tech Support has several links in the above post to a few sections and threads. If you like stories, and all the hidden conspiracies in zombies, I recommend, although it is long, you find a thread called "A Zombie Trilogy" By MurderMachineX. He has it written out, as well as a recently created 4 hour youtube video, which is more similar to an audio book with visuals. If you like gameplay and strategy I recommend you find a thread called "The Master Zombies Guide" by Ehjookayted. This only contains info on Black Ops 1 zombies, but the general basics are applicable to Black Ops 2. Plus if you like zombies, you'll want to find Black Ops 1 at some point. It appears to be the opinion of many here that zombies were better in Black Ops 1 than they are in Black Ops 2. You get banned by violating the Code of Conduct (Link in Tech supports post) which is basically common sense stuff. Don't be an ass, don't spam the forum with advertisements, and so on. The colors represent groups. We used to have many achievable groups, but these have since been replaced with medals. Now the groups are essentially just forum staff members, and donors. My color is blue, because I have donated money to this site. Moderators (Staff) are green, and they essentially enforce rules and do the housekeeping. Administrators are Red, and they handle more of the leadership and tech support roles. There is a weird orange group called affiliates but I don't even understand them so just pretend they're all super cool. Oh and Yellow is for people who really are super cool. There are only a few of them, and I think all of them were really high level staff who have since retired. No question is a stupid question. I hope you enjoy your stay here.

The door to the BAR room in Verruckt. It's so deliciously pointless.

Again, you and I have different views on the linearity of time. You bring up Samantha's inability to be born after the cycle is broken as a paradox, but I don't see it that way. Samantha doesn't need to be born the second time around. She was born the first time around. The way I look at time travel is from a branching realities viewpoint. Everytime, every single time, anyone went back in time, it created a new branch. You could NEVER change your personal history. If you went back and time and killed your grandfather, you wouldn't fade out of existence, instead you'd just ensure that an ALTERNATE you wouldn't be born. The homocidal you is still very much alive. With that in mind, it doesn't matter than time travel didn't happen until the late 40's. Once the box is open, everything is subject. Just as well, Samatha was an omnipotent being who could travel through time at will. There is no reason she couldn't have escaped to the past and created a new branch of history. I still think it's more logical to say that the 1918 excavation either never happened, or was highly unsuccessful. If I had to choose, I'd say the alatter. I think the O4 never met, in fact I'd be willing to go so far to say it is unlikely any of them, let alone all of them (except Richtofen), would have even been sent there. I'll try to sit down and write out my views in a more properly written format soon. Maybe then you can either show me where I'm mistaken, orI can show you. Either way, it's a win.

I disagree. I've played into mid 40's on Origins without doing any EE steps. In fact, NOT touching the crystals actually opens up a really nice quick survival area. It isn't inevitable. I almost NEVER touch the One inch Punch, or the Beacons, and I alone, build and upgrade only one staff. Two at most. I think you're misusing the term complexity. Just because perks change, or the layout makes spawns hard to control, doesn't make the map complex. Complexity comes, at least for the sake of this thread as defined by myself, and as it appears, Nayrc and Rissole possibly Jay but who cares about him, all agree with my definition. A complex map has numerous additional OBJECTIVES. A complicated situation could be created on ANY map. You can't base it on that. You have to base it on essentially the number of different features present on the map that the player needs to, or can, interact with.
-
I've given that question a lot of thought, and no, I don't think you can. In order to make a complex map feel rewarding, there needs to be great rewards for completing objectives. Requiring the completion of complex objectives to aquire the ideal setup is exactly what makes a map not simple. In order to be simple, the best set up needs to be quick (relatively) and easy. If both a quick setup and a complex reward setup were in a map, then it would devalue the complex setup. Because unless it is much better, why would you bother with something harder if you can get something just as good a lot easier? However if it is made to be worth the extra effort then the easy set up is no longer as "ideal" as the complex set up. You can't truly have one without the other. Moon was probably the simplest Complex map on my list, because the Hacker was the main complicator. And while it was much better to have the hacker, the cons were minimal to obtaining it. Likewise if you really didn't want it, you wouldn't be significantly worse off.
-
In terms of complexity vs simplicity I don't see what you're basing most of your opinions off of. Nacht: Simplistic Verruckt: Simple-Complex (only due to the start split.) Shi no Numa: Simplistic (shifting perks does not make it complex) Der Riese: Simple-Complex (the pack a punch unlock, is rather signficant) Kino Der Toten: Simplistic FIVE: Simple-Complex (Buildable traps and pack a punch unlock) Ascension: Simple-Complex (pack a punch unlock, and perk guarding from monkeys) Call of the Dead: Simple-Complex (George Romero objective, and EE for Wunderwaffe drop) Shangri-La: Simple-Complex (Pack a punch unlock, and EE for permaperks) Moon: Complex-Simple (Hacker, No Mans Land, EE) Nuketown: Simplistic TranZit: Complex-Simple (buildables, Pack a punch unlock, bank unlock) -- All TranZit Sub Maps are Simplistic Die Rise: Simple-Complex (Buildables) Mob of the Dead: Complex (Mutliple secret objectives, Pack a punch unlock, buildables) Buried: Complex (Multiple buildables, The Big Guy) Origins: Complex (Multiple major objectives, pack a punch unlock, crazy place unlock, buildables) That is my most objective analysis of maps on a scale of simple, simple-complex, complex-simple, and complex. The general tune of Black Ops was Simple-Complex. I do not care for any of the basic Simplistic maps, more of my favorites reside on the complex side. However this is just an evaluation of their complexity. Not quality. I felt that Buried was trash, yet Die Rise was wonderful, even though Buried is Complex and Die Rise is Simple-Complex.
-
I've never lasted past 50, and I rarely give many attempts to do so. I prefer complex objective based maps much more than simpler. Although in that note, I like MotD and Origins FAR more than Buried and TranZit when it comes to this. I could see MotD and Origins objectives maybe getting boring after doing them so many times, and just wanting an easy quick game. TranZit and Buried's objectives are almost instantly annoying and tedious for me. I think it becomes a mix between map design and how much the objectives play a role in the overall game. If they don't do enough for a reward, then they're pointless. If it is too much, it's offputting for those who don't like objectives due to various reasons. I think the ideal solution would be objective based "story" maps, and then tweaks for a survival gamemode for the same map. Buildables are already built and must be bought, wonderweapon upgrades with Packapunch. Tactical rewards are purchased, and so on.

I'm keeping my Blue. So suck on that Jay.

Jay you don't get warnings, reported, or hate mail because you've converted me. Well actually it's because I no longer have any authority around here. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Weapons packs: Future of Cod gaming for MP and zombies!
MegaAfroMan replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in Zombie Labs
Except for the one that actually DOES give you a new weapon, I don't see any balance issues. They'd be neat, but overall they're a waste of the studios time in my opinion. It just opens the door for Microtransactions even more, and I dislike that idea. -
I don't think that'd be possible solo, would it? You need the showers open to get to the door you need to use the key on to zap the laundry. Unless you could zap it over the gate, but I haven't ever been able to pull that off.
-
I'm pretty sure you can get those kills on the bridge as well, but in early rounds this can make the time needed on the bridge exceed 3 or 4 rounds. Sometimes it doesn't properly register that you're on the bridge either if you got the required kills for step one while already on the bridge.
-
Well, you'll hear a notification sound (it's hard to explain but if you listen, you'll hear it) when you've achieved the 1st set of kills, then the 2nd set. You see you need to first get some x number of kills ANYWHERE with the retriever. Then you need to survive one whole round on the bridge. If you do this too early, it could turn out that the number of zombies on the first round on the bridge isn't sufficient to meet the "x" kills requirement. Then on round 2 on the bridge you might pass the first step, but you still need to survive a whole round. Basically don't leave until you've heard the notification sound at the end of the round. Even then, I've had it where I've never gotten the 2nd notification until I left the bridge and come back. It could be a minimum round requirement for all I know.

Modern Warfare 2 is ***FALLINGAPART***

I just realized a few days ago I'll be 20 by the end of the year. It's kinda freaky. -

Headshot only bypassed with Mark two?
MegaAfroMan replied to Dummkopt's topic in General Zombies Discussion
It's not a terrible glitch. It's more of an oversight on Treyarch's part. If you've noticed, explosive damage also ignores the headshots only setting. M&S is just as effective as before. Then again I guess I haven't played with headshots only in a while.
