Hey guys. I was looking at the old character profiles and found myself a little confused by Richtofen's. Specifically, it says that he has been torturing people "all through his career," marks him as an "incurable sociopath," and suggests that he has always been crazy. However, it seems that some of the radios would suggest different. I daresay Richtofen sounds remarkably normal in the Moon radios, and they suggest that the voices he hears came from the M.P.D. Furthermore, the profile states that he was somewhat infamous in "every town under Axis control." To my recollection, the Axis Powers were not known as such until September of 1940. On the other hand, the first Moon radio is dated December 4, 1939. I realize that it's entirely possible that he became infamous prior to the Tripartite Pact, but that raises issues as well. "Every town under Axis control" implies areas that were invaded and taken over as well, areas outside of where Richtofen would likely have been spending his time. Of course, his reputation could have spread by word of mouth and such, but then why would Dr. Maxis have let him into Group 935 if he had a widespread reputation as a sadistic torturer? Another curiosity from the Moon radio is Richtofen's seeming distaste for Maxis working with the Nazi party and asking "what business of ours is this war?" Now, political opinion aside, that hardly sounds like something someone in the army would say. Aside from that, I find it somewhat difficult to believe that a supposedly high-ranking military officer would simply be able to vanish into a secret scientific group while the country is gripped with war. Now, I'm by no means an expert, but I think there are some discrepancies. To me, it really seems like the magical retcon at work, but maybe some of you more experienced people can help me out and direct me to other information. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I don't think they will. For one thing, the sheer amount of maps we have at this point would make redownloading them cumbersome for many individuals. As of late, the maps have been more storyline driven because of the easter eggs, which have prerequisites to their accomplishment. Thus far, this has operated off achievements (i.e. you must have both CotD and Shangri-La easter eggs completed for Moon's), which could become problematic in re-releases. They would either have to remove the prerequisites, port in or allow double achievements, or remove the eggs all together. While I was never a big fan of the prerequisite system, it seems like it would be a huge slap in the face to simply remove it after so many people went through the trouble of doing it. Furthermore, the achievements/trophies for the easter egg have become, for many, a huge part of the experience. It seems like we've come to far to be getting re-releases. On that note, perhaps I'm being overly optimistic, but Rezurrection seemed like a huge zombie experiment to me. It was the first time that zombies was released as core-content rather than a tiny addition to something else; thus, it was the first real indicator of the zombies community. While I don't necessarily believe they're making a zombies only game (though I really wish they would), I think that as it grows, it will warrant being re-released less. Of course, I could be totally wrong... money is money, after all.

What the note in Paris board says?
Black Wolf replied to Matuzz's topic in General Zombies Discussion
For what it's worth, all nouns are capitalized in German, so that lends no special significance. It does, however, narrow down that second word to one that is not a noun-- no real revelation, unfortunately. I'm not sure where tower came from Aufsatz, unless you are using a translator and entered it uncapitalized. There is a similar word that can translate to "tower" but it is a verb, as in "he towered over her." Otherwise... hm... It can mean the top of something, and that's probably the best usage here making this something about the top of the tube, perhaps. The second word I cannot make any sense out of at the moment. I'll try to get a better look, but I definitely think part of it is hidden under the other image. -
Not trying to be rude but whenever I actived it it always seem to last me till the high 30's and this is when I active it in round 1 (like I always do solo or not) Your experience is different than mine then, perhaps we're on different consoles or something. I tried it last night and activated it on rounds one and two and consistent high drops until about round six, then they sharply tapered off. Upon going back to the note on round sixteen, they immediately went back up. So if one only has to do it once and it lasts, great, but if one does it a single time and does not get good results, it's worth returning to the note before dismissing the practice as ineffective. In my experience, it works equally well on both.

I'm going to throw my hat in and say that I also believe this to be remarkably effective. It only seems to last a round or so each time, so the action must be repeated. It seems to work equally well on both co-op and solo. However, you must make sure you hear the character's reaction to make sure you really 'activated' it. For those having difficulty, be aware that it is a slip of paper with Illuminati symbols you're looking for. I find that that standing next to the grates with my back to the fence and using a gun with wider a wider cross-hair is easiest. Another thing I noticed when I did this is that, even my first time using a teleporter, Sam refused to give me drops. I can't guarantee that the two are related, but in my experience, you usually get a power-up the first couple times you teleport. Likewise, I can't guarantee that the two are related, but it is something to be aware of.

Well that explains a lot, thank you. Did your team mates get the Cryogenic Slumber Party trophy? Honestly, it sounds like a random glitch of the game simply not recognizing what you did, could have been a minor connection flaw. Weird things happen. I'd try it on solo and update us if it still fails.

You should be getting "Cryogenic Slumber Party" the moment the pyramid opens. You pull the switch on the wall, the pyramid opens, Sam emerges, and everybody gets a death machine. There are no perks awarded for this part, but "Cryogenic Slumber Party" should be awarded. If you're unlocking perks in the easter egg then I must conclude that you've gone farther then that point. There is a second interaction with the pyramid involves filling 4 tubes which ultimately causes Richtofen and Samantha to change bodies. If you are playing as Richtofen/Sam at this point, you will get the perks; however, this is not the end of the easter egg, and there is no trophy for this point. If you were playing as Richtofen, it explains your confusion. There are two more steps you must take to complete the easter egg, unlock the perks for your team mates, and, of course, earn the final trophy. Ultimately, there are two trophies for this easter egg. If you've seen Sam, you should have "Cryogenic Slumber Party." Are you saying that you got the trophy for "Big Bang Theory" and not "Cryogenic Slumber Party?" I'd go back and double check to make sure it didn't unlock. If it hasn't, it's really probably just a silly glitch. You can get "Cryogenic Slumber Party" on solo, of course, so it's not much to fret over. Is it a repeating glitch, or did you just try the one time?
-
You do not get all the perks for opening the pyramid and finding Samantha (Cryogenic Slumber Party), you have to go much further to do that. So please clarify exactly what part of the easter egg you had completed or were attempting in regards to which trophy should have unlocked. Also, double check to make sure that it wasn't just a glitched notification. I'm on Xbox 360, but I've noticed that sometimes the pop-up notification does not show, but the achievement is actually unlocked.

It actually seems to be a somewhat uncommon visual glitch. Someone else posted about it here: viewtopic.php?f=72&t=17757 That being said, I'm sure it's annoying. You said "we," so I assume you're always trying it with someone else, and if you're working with someone else offline then you must be split-screening, right? Have you tried doing it completely solo with just one player or playing online with people? If you play online with someone who can see her then you know for certain it's just a graphical glitch. Also, when the pyramid opens, the characters usually react to Samantha with a comment, or at least the one who flipped the switch does. What system are you on?

When I started getting into multiplayer gaming, I noticed that the term "noob" seems to have a really negative connotation to the point that it seems to mean something more than simply someone who is new at the game. It seems similar to the distinction between ignorant and stupid; a new player (I tend to use the term newbie) may not know the ins and outs of the game and may make a lot of mistakes but is genuinely trying, whereas a noob has no desire to learn or see any position other than his or her own. When someone is trying to understand, I think it's definitely a service to the community to do your best to help. Everybody was new once. I'm still really new, but we all start somewhere.

Eclipse Pressure Plates: The Illuminati's Hidden Message?
Black Wolf replied to Rissole25's topic in Shangri-La
Perhaps I'm completely wrong here, but I might have something. (I'm also really new, so if I am wrong, please be gentle...) Also, I'll go ahead and say that I do not currently have Shangri-La, so I can't go look at these things for myself, so sorry again. One thing I noticed, is that the triangle shape which represents I could also be a sideways representation of M. So I started with this string of letters: M/I X/G R L S C S E K Q I set the numbers aside at first, and then decided to try using them as an encoding mechanism for the letters. The most promising one was by adding 2 to each letter, yielding: O/K Z/I T N U E U G M S From this sequence, something jumped out at me. Rearranging the letters we can easily get "Tungusk," which is really just one letter away from Tunguska, obviously. At first, I wondered if the 1 could be reversed back into the letter A, which would complete the word Tunguska, but that doesn't seem to fit any sort of pattern. Is it possible that there is a missing tile? Alternately, you could drop the K and have "Tungus," which used to be a term for the people of the region and is sometimes used to refer to the meteorite. At any rate, this left me with the following letters: Z/I E M and possibly O/K and of course the leftover 1. At this point, I was a bit lost, so I decided to switch the letters into numbers... 26/9 5 13 15/11 and the 1. If I apply my previous coding to the 1, it becomes a 3, and I potentially have 935 with the 13/M leftover. However, as I was looking at it I noticed that the original leftover letters were Z/I E M. MEI, according to a quick search, can be an acronym for "Maximum Exposed Individual," which seems relevant, although I have no idea why it jumped out at me. Anyway, I'll try to work on it more when I have time, but I'm posting in hopes that someone with more knowledge of this map can maybe nudge me in the right direction. Sorry if I'm way off in left field...
