What about Remastered Zombies for Next-Gen?
Stop Mocking Me0 replied to Waddles's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Quite the opposite. It's actually quite easy to re-construct each map. But to do THEM ALL would be costly and should feature as a full priced stand-alone game. -
What about Remastered Zombies for Next-Gen?
Stop Mocking Me0 replied to Waddles's topic in General Zombies Discussion
See, here was my recollection of it: The WAW would not be hard to port over, but to remaster would be SLIGHTLY more costly. The BO1 maps would be a bigger issue, needing to be re-mastered and rebuilt with things like "george A romero's" AI. Bo2 is the biggest issue, it requires a LOT of AI encoding and things linked between all maps. Like the ray gun M2. Obviously BO3's maps would not be included because they would need to be bought from the still-kind-of-selling-game right then. Then I did some math: Each BO1 and BO2 DLC cost 15USD (about) and roughly 50% of the effort went into the zombies maps (with the exclusion of "resurrection") but then I got to take cash back again for using re-used maps SO: Kino: 3.25 Five: 6.50 DOA: ----Not sure---- Ascension: 9.75 COTD: 13.00 Shangri-la: 16.25 Moon: 19.50 Tranzit: 22.75 Nuketown: (same price) 26.00 Die-rise: 29.25 Mob of the Dead: 32.50 Buried: 35.75 Origins: 39.00 ---Easier maps get the price reduced--- Nact: 41.25 Verruct: 43.50 Shi-no-numa: 45.75 Der Reise: 48.00 Now add in some extra for -New and returning VS maps (Greif) -Improved leaderboards -Sideproject funding. And the total cost per-game would be about 60$USD just as much as an average game. So: What I would do, is make "zombies Classic" available from the XBL market, or PSNMarket or whatever, and then give those who pre-order BO3, or the game after that, get access to zombies: Classic before any others in a 40$ extra pre-order package. That would maximize sales IMO. -
It is a discussion about the next game. But I see your confusion. IMO, we shouldn't split the zombies mode to have any thing like that, unless: there should be a "party roulette" mode in zombies, which allows you to enter a match with randomly picked customizations: First room only, no wall weapons, dogs enabled, no box, head shots only. These things and more would award more towards leveling up then an average match, but obviously could be harder.

2015 Zombie Perks/Weapon Levelling System!

That sounds nice, i always preferred lobby leaderboards compared to symbols. Plus I would have a reason to play grief other then "I only have an hour and a half, better pop in some cellblock" -
2015 Zombie Perks/Weapon Levelling System!
Stop Mocking Me0 replied to AshMedley's topic in Zombie Labs
Saddly that's never going away. Sure there will be some maps that allow for one or two players, and I don't see the point in a 3 player easter egg, but in order to play 4 player zombies one needs to have either a second console, or Xbox live/PSnetwork. That improves xbox gold sales. More people will get online to complete the easteregg. It's a a big tourist trap. -
See I almost NEVER hit the box in origins. I ALWAYS end up opening all the doors and being stuck with a B23r----> Mp40---->Staff---->STG-40. Due to the HIGH ability to go down I never get mule kick so, the box is fairly useless to me. Furthermore, lets return to the topic: I don't think a WAW2 is ENTIRELY out of the question. It could refer to an alternate World war 2, or world war 3. But elder warfare is gone, it's not worth devoting a whole COD to it. NOW, an INTERESTING topic is a WAW mode in which one plays MP with only weapons from the WAW era. That'd be cool, or maybe a DLC that could include a WAW arsenal.

So after all the speculation of what I've seen on youtube and trayarch's pearl harbor posts, I've decided to write my own version of "call of duty: World at War II". Now, for those who know me, you know there is a SERIOUS issue with returning to the WW2 era for COD: Gameplay. In my opinion, any video game relies on 3 standpoints: Story, Gameplay, and Graphics. Graphics and story are not and issue for next-gen WW2. The issue comes with gameplay. WIth the MOST jam-packed game of gadgets and syfy wonder seen in a COD game being released before this, no one is going to like moving from being at control of drones, cloaks, double jumping and laser guns to being constantly pinned down in a trench with a STG-40 again. So, to compensate this issue, I've devised a way to import the classic World-at-War feel, while also improving gameplay. The best way I could come up with was re-writing history to a more extreme scale. SO, without further adu: Call of duty WAW2. The game begins not actually in war, but at the manhattan project's base. You are attending the last test before the bomb's a go for use against the Japanese. You are a scientist escorting President Roosevelt, Vannevar Bush, and Vice President Henry A. Wallace to the test site. Your name is Doctor Lemming Faux. You are Oppenheimer's right hand man (literally, he sits right next to you). You are debriefed on the subject, then introduced, and before long, a buzzer will go off, this will signify that a spy is attempting to flee. It's your job to make sure he doesn't. The spy runs into the briefing room and attempts to shoot Roosevelt (whom is paralyzed). You save him by removing the person's gun and killing him with the scissors you were holding, the bullets only appear to have hit Roosevelt in the legs, which he has bandaged and laughs off. T-minus one hour till launch. You look at your own hands in horror at what you've done. You eventually end up in the hallway, and begin running down the corridor. Eventually, you reach the bomb's site, where no man is to be. You climb and dis-arm the bomb, taking the uranium out and putting it into a special briefcase for this exact reason. You return to the base with 30 minutes to go.. No one has noticed what you've done. You begin to see delusions of roosevelt laughing and war and the blood on your hands. Doing the only thing you can, you hide the uranium in the other nuclear device, not yet being tested, inside the base, then set the timer, and then return to the nuclear-empty test site, bringing three scientist who had gone to find out what the issue with the bomb was hostage. You remain horror struck when you watch roosevelt and the others die in the explosion that should have whipped out the very land you're standing on. BANG, one of the scientists you killed, a man by the name of "Doctor Howard Derain" then shoots and kills your other hostages, stating that you've made his job all the easier. Now he has a fully functional nuke in his possession, and he plans to make good work with the money it will make him. He then ends by killing you. "World At War/ II " At this point you're offered one of three tasks to pursue, but know, each path can have a choice that will effect the outcome of the war/game. But typically you will be tasked to play as one of 3 characters, each with it's own story. NOTE: The game progresses by time, so if you complete one mission, the two missions you didn't complete are left with an automatic outcome and can not be re-completed. Now the 3 players: Joseph Carlile: Former italian-American mob boss. Lost his power when america came to hate mussolini. Now battles in the front lines for his own objectives. He will play as part of the 42nd ground force on the invasion of germany, but will then branch off and travel across nazi-england, france, and Italy until he finds mussolini and takes the sun-of-a-bitch down himself. His secondary is always his trusty "problem solver" revolver. Likewise, he has two lackeys who fallow him into battle: Thorndike McVan, and Klauz manwiths: Thorndike is an expert sharpshooter, and Klauz is super handy with modern technology. Officer Laura Valderaz: First women chief of police for american forces. Her job is to keep forces in america from acting out. Her partner "Dylan Mikes" is a wisecracking alcoholic and former war-veterine. Together they maintain piece outside the dead-zone (a no-man's land war-zone in which anyone whom crosses are instantly obliterated by Japanese turrets) Her job is to repress the dead-zone as well as keep it from expanding. AND making sure hordes of people stay out of it. Spec-Ops opperative Lewis Ninevi:: Special opperations-ist in charge of tracking and exciting the biggest threat of the war: Doctor Howard Derain. His issue is his squad is currently lined up in a mobile german death camp on the ocean. You must escape, regroup, and find Derain. Derain is the madman behind all of this. Because of his selfish intentions, he sold the bomb to japan. In turn, the bomb was used to save germany from american forces, although hitler is still dead. Due to this, Germany never fell and Italy is still under it's power. Furthermore, germany has now conquered most of russia as well with this new technology. To make matters worse, Japan has now crossed the sea and is stationed on the opposing side of the dead-zone. Here they developed war turrets and drones to keep their side safe. Meanwhile, germany, now under control of a man known as "Jacoviar Quinzel" has set up more death camps specifically for the american soldiers. Although germany continues to fight, it it's self is in civil war with it's own views on nazi-ism. Half of them want no more, and the other want it back. This isn't totally bad however. Under command of President Cordell Hull (The next member of the white house who wasn't killed in the explosion) this would later leave to advancements in weaponry. This is an odd hybrid of futuristic and WW2 warfare. Drones, juggernauts, flame throwers, napalm, nano-bots, cloaking tech. (no boost jumps), grappling tech (which allows one to grapple like in Advanced warfare, but not boost jump, this is available in MP), tommy guns, shock grenades, but no in-head coms, just walkie-talkies. 1984 (time of this) is a REALLY interesting time period for warfare in this universe. And that's the basis! What do you think?

Yeah, basically the whole menu was a replica of Nact, where the help room was the PSN and XBL lobby, the first room was the offline lobby, the upstairs was used for customization and purchasing customizations for survival characters. There was also a music box which allowed one to listen to any song they found in game, a bank to transfer points (to be used in the store for customization or the In-game bank) furthermore one could customize what weapons were in the box and when searching for matches zombies would attack and you'd have every weapon at your disposal (as long as you keep pushing Y,Triangle, or scroll-wheel) Zombies can down you and you do actually have a lobby round score. Furthermore, when other players joined the lobby they too would help fend off the hordes. The lobby's host has the ability to kick unwanted players for the game and one ready's up or checks lobby leader boards by pressing left and right respectively on the D-pad.

Can we escape? well... no... Not for another 4 and a half years....
-
Expect the regular bollocks: bigger maps, bigger guns, more things to kill with, better story.
-
Two words: Next-Gen Another two words and a number: 3 Year Cycle yeah, there's no such thing as "too big" anymore. They've already stated they're testing domination. MEANING, -Guns? Finished (or at least enough to start with) -Multiplayer? Working -Maps? Some multiplayer maps have been developed. _Modes? Yep, some of those too! Surprisingly enough, trayarch didn't procrastinate. With any luck, the remaining budget will go towards zombies and the cloud servers. I saw this on outside Xbox and I thought it was brilliant: cloud servers. Unlike previous games which are limited to the console's ability to process information. The Xbone has the ability to read info from a server cloud, this has it's ups and downs: Ups: Upgrading can now be done without the need for you to do ANYTHING! Upgrading can now be expanded further then before for EVERYONE! Downs: This will mean that the cloud is connecting to your server wirelessly… Meaning bad internet connections are even worse now…

Are you kidding? The lightning staff is the best until you get to round 40 or so. There is not a sane sole in the world who will say origins is even within the top 10 easiest maps with you on this one buddy. Mind you, there's been a grand total of 16 maps: nact Verruct Shino Der Reise Kino Five Ascension Call of the Dead Shangri-la Moon Tranzit Nuketown Die rise MOTD Buried Origins Now, they may say origins is easy, because zombies is easy. But lets be honest with randoms: You are not going to have all staffs by round 11. You'll be lucky to have A staff by that time. In trained groups, sure, but that's not an easy map, that's an elite group. Also, panzer is always a pain even if you have a staff. Because you aren't just fighting a panzer. You're fighting zombies. Zombies that will block your path mid-reload and screw you over. Zombies that rubber-band back to RIGHT where you were standing before the lag spike. As for the robots. I have not gotten a golden helm in a LONG time. SO many people go TRY HARD for that shovel. Then if I do get the golden shovel I get told to "lay off the digs" so others can get the shovel. By the time that comes around, someone has lagged to death. Not to mention, each staff has a major flaw: Fire: Does not kill instantly, hit zombies can still approach and feast on you. Wind: Is VERY weak, likewise amo sucks. Charged attack does not kill instantly. Lightning: If you don't know how to use it, it's the worst staff. Those who can master it's properties know this is the staff to take though. Not good spread. Ice: Again: Does not instantly kill zombies, even in it's charged form. Also, any wonder weapon would break the game the way you've got it set up. Figuratively speaking, one could complete the easter egg on solo, then just run circles in the crazy place with all 4 staffs until they get tired and die. But that won't work because each staff tends to run out of amo long before a max amo can be gotten. See, there is an equation for this. On the later rounds, typically, drops you see on one round will be replaced by other drops on the next round. So that's a max amo every 2 rounds. Thing is, when four players are using their staves, all 4's amo is depleting at the same time (Unless you're like me and you save your amo, but then you'll just go down for NOT having your WW out…) So, by the time the first round is over, on say, 30, the wind staff is DEAD. The ice staff is half-gone, the fire-staff is half gone, and theres quite a bit of lightning amo missing. By the time you reach the end of the second round you're practically out of amo. Same thing happens in solo because you can't get replenished amo in a gun you're not holding, so even if you suddenly re-gain fire amo, the ice and wind amo is still gone.
-
Let's put 4 ice staves on transit and watch unlimited rounds. People like the 4 wonder weapons because it's easy. Origins requires no skill, anyone who can get past round 8 s all of a sudden is a round 50 player. Transit, you have unlimited traps, wide open spaces, and an infinite weapon all that takes skill in which increases every round to adapt. Seems like a much better experience than camping after surviving just 8 rounds. That is complete bullshit, just stating that now. NEVER have I gotten to round 50 with 4 players, even if we had elemental fists by round 17. Combined with the mud, wide spacing and of course the variety of mechs, it takes a lot of skill to maintain a high round optimal. Tranzit is equally hard but simply because of the small amounts of running space and huge space between running space. Say you're training in the tunnel. If you go down, it doesn't matter how many ice staffs there are. No one is going to be able to get to you unless the bus is about to go. Even if you get revived, you're not making it back to jug without going down again, ice-staff or no. Origins is the hardest map released for Black ops two, and the second hardest in the series, right after shangri-la. (In my opinion). It has 4 wonder weapons, and it's still hard. Adding more wonder weapons does NOT make things easier.

Well not ENTIRELY true, it wouldn't be hard to re-create a MP map into a grief map: Bit of debris here, box here, perk there. It could be very possible. But I think one of the biggest issues with grief was that it would be bad for your rank if you lagged out. My total town grief maps say I've lost over 50 matches and won, maybe 21. But In reality, I've only legitimately lost like 10-15. The rest are all from lagging out, which is very common in a game which can barely run with 4 people in nuketown. (and for those who don't know, even in town the ENTIRE map of tranzit loads in, missing entities of course: No bus, no out-of-map box spawns or wall weapons. But every texture from the tractor at farm to the chairs in the bus depot is still there. ) Cloud servers would improve this greatly (I think that was a part of the Xbone's upgrade list…)
-
Why? Many people loved having 4 wonder weapons… Better then having no wonder weapon like in tranzit… what's that? There is a wonder weapon? Power weapon? Jet gun? That's a weapon?
-
This is interesting because the animations for how a zombie comes apart isn't like the jet gun or a grenade on insta-kill. The weapon deliberately destroys a zombie's torso first and then slowly pulls the rest of it apart. Furthermore, flying isn't actually flying, it's more of being PUSHED against a magnet, that's why if you push off the floor you gain height and no force is pulling you down, but if you fall and shoot, you slowly descend because there is force initially pushing you down. SO, with that logic, one can assume the force of the paralyzer's electromagnetic pull is equal to the force of gravity's electro-feild. When a force against gravity is disrupted constantly in a confined space this can pull apart the fields within it, like the ones holding a zombie together.

Yup! Welcome to Mocking's 25 days of christmas countdown! Don't worry BHS, I'm not here to steal your thunder, his particular posts will be nine times as fun and drawn out as mine so feel free to check them out! In the mean time, I'll just start a thread EVERY DAY until my FAVORITE holiday comes to pass! Anyway I'd figure we'd start it off with a BANG! Or in THIS case, a BLEEP! By the way all these thread's prompts are going to be in code, simple enough to decode of course, but still more challenging! This week's easy: Morse code, you remember this from COTD ya? - .... .. ... / .-- . . -.- / .. .----. -.. / .-.. .. -.- . / - --- / -.. .. ... -.-. ..- ... ... / - .... . / .. -.. . .- / --- ..-. / ... .--. .. -.. . .-. -....- --.. --- -- -... .. . ... .-.-.- / .. .----. ...- . / ... . . -. / ... --- -- . / .-- . .. .-. -.. / ... .--. .. -.. . .-. -- .- -. / . .--. .. ... --- -.. . ... / .-.. .- - . .-.. -.-- --..-- / .- -. -.. / .. / - .... --- ..- --. .... - ---... / .-- .... .- - / .. ..-. / .... . / .-- .- ... / .- / --.. --- -- -... .. . ..--.. / -- . .- -. .. -. --. / - .... . / --.. --- -- -... .. . ... / .... .- ...- . / -- ..- .-.. - .. .--. .-.. . / .-.. .. -- -... ... / -.--.- -- --- .-. . / - .... . -. / ....- -.--.- / .- -. -.. / .-- .- .-.. -.- / .- .-. --- ..- -. -.. / --- -. / - .... . / ..-. .-.. --- --- .-. --..-- / -... ..- - / -.-. .- -. / .- .-.. ... --- / -.-. .-.. .. -- -... / -.-. . .. .-.. .. -. --. ... / - .... .. -. -.- --..-- / -.-- --- ..- .----. .-. . / .--- ..- ... - / .-- .- .. - .. -. --. / - .... . .-. . .- .-.. .-.. / .. -. -. --- -.-. . -. - --..-- / -.-- --- ..- .----. ...- . / --. --- - / -.-- --- ..- .-. / -.-. .- -- .--. .. -. --. / ... .--. --- - / .- .-.. .-.. / .-- --- .-. -.- . -.. / --- ..- - / .-- .... . -. / --- ..- - / ..-. .-. --- -- / - .... . / ... .... .- -.. --- .-- ... / .- -... --- ...- . --..-- / .- / ... .--. .. -.. . .-. / --.. --- -- -... .. . / -.-. --- -- . ... / --- ..- - / .- -. -.. / -.- -. .- .-- ... / .- - / -.-- --- ..- / ..-. .-. --- -- / .- -... --- ...- . .-.-.- http://morsecode.scphillips.com/jtranslator.html
