Nuketown zombies mark II ray gun
TheDunbarian replied to Nasdaq401's topic in General Zombies Discussion
THANK YOU!!! I just thought the damn thing hated me, but it turns out it is that rare outside of Buried. It wasn't a glitch. I went to 32 on Nuketown once, hitting the box maybe 1000 times and I never got it, while someone on my team got it sometime in the 20s. Its absolutely ridiculous, trying to get that thing. -
Do you guys REALLY want new Zombies after this?
TheDunbarian replied to killbaoy1537's topic in General Zombies Discussion
First of all, what ending? Buried? You can't be serious... And yes, we do need more. The story should never end. Is that only my opinion? Yes. Will it change? Probably not. -
Letters from the Field - Photos & Videos from Pre-Origins

As long as there's no denizens, horribly blinding fog, or fire, I'm fine with Tranzit 2.0 Doesn't look like there's fog or denizens, my theory is that there will be a "No Man's Land" between areas and that having to evade the robot is your penalty for venturing out there in an attempt to take a dangerous shortcut, while the tank is our equivalent to the bus, safely taking us from locale to locale. This map simply looks amazing. TranZit was a good idea gone horribly wrong, but it looks like they may just do it right this time. -
But Sam wasn't even BORN in 1917, yet alone controlling zombies. Of course, this isn't to say it's not possible, seeing as she was in control in CotD which took place in the 2010s, LONG after her time. So maybe she's capable of time travel, but from when? And why?

Not true. It says: So, looks like the PR actually confirmed that the robot is hostile.

I'm sure the RGM2 will be on the map. Treyarch said that anyone who bought DLC3 will have the gun available on ALL zombies maps. If they don't put it on the new one, they'll have people whining about false advertisement and have to get into legal stuff. As for people talking about the inclusion of perks and PaP... You realize those things could be in the past right? Just because, say, Staminup's first appearance (Ascension) took place in the 60s doesn't mean Staminup was created in the 60s, it could've been sitting there for years. Pack-a-Punch could've been invented before Der Reise took place, it's just that Nacht Der Untoten, Verruckt, and Shi No Numa didn't happen to have a machine there. -

I was excited to hear that they're doing another zombies song (though I'm still hoping for the return of Elena in this map). I'm trying to get tickets to see them live in October!

Old maps returning Your Thoughts
TheDunbarian replied to blackfire561's topic in Research & Development
I wouldn't feel "entitled" to the maps if it weren't for the fact that they were shown off in the trailer. Showing them off and not releasing them seems like a blatant slap in the face on Treyarch's part, seeing as they watch this forum and know that a good portion of us were hoping for the return of the classic maps. I think they at least owe us a response. -
While you are right about the press release confirming the characters, the fact that they were present in the video shouldn't count as official proof, since eight of the maps from Black Ops 1 were also in the trailer but aren't in the DLC. Lesson learned: never trust what's in the video. Only trust what's in the press release.

Well of course we're not happy with Apocalypse. After a trailer showing all of the classic maps, anything less than an all-zombies map pack is gonna be a disappointment. I understand if they don't want to remaster all those maps, because it is a lot of work especially on top of making the new map. But if they're not gonna do it, they shouldn't wave the old maps in front of our faces. -

Soooo... No classic maps then? Gotta say, I was looking forward to those more than the new map itself. -
This also has practical use. If it's the end of a round and you REALLY need ammo for your RGM2 or something and you have a lot of points, you could keep getting Lenny to change the points power up until you eventually get a Max Ammo. I suppose this is also possible mid-round, but I prefer not dying

The more I see of this new map pack, the more I'm starting to buy in to the "time loop" ending. It would make a lot of sense. This map could be a prequel while still being an ending. Mob of the Dead foreshadowed something like it. The inclusion of the classic maps in the DLC would allow players to play the "full cycle". And, most importantly, it would provide a common "ending", regardless of which path was followed on Buried. Also, it wouldn't necessarily mean the end of zombies either. It wouldn't be a cliffhanger, in fact it would be a semi-satisfying ending, but if the developers wanted to continue the story in the future, they would simply need a character to do what Weasel did: break the cycle. Character breaks the cycle, and you have BO3  -
UPDATE! DLC 4: The Giant Metal Man in 935 Paris w/ NML!
TheDunbarian replied to bagel_'s topic in Origins
Bagel, first of all, I love this thread, nicely done sir Secondly, I'm also thinking we might see some interesting things done with the No Man's Land between trenches. Since the robot's foot looks too large to crush you while you're in the trenches, perhaps staying in the trenches will keep you safe from the robot. However, the trenches look like a deathtrap when you're dealing with zombies, and if they cover a large area of the map then getting from point A to point B may take a while. So NML may be used as an escape route when zombies are coming at you from both sides, or as a shortcut (especially useful when a teammate is downed far away). However, in NML, you run the risk of getting crushed by the giant robot! I think this would be a very interesting gameplay feature -

I are excite... But... But... But... Prequel? It has to be more than just a prequel. Buried is not a satisfying ending. Besides, Nathan was right, the original characters probably don't have their same charm pre-experiments. Hopefully they'll give us something that takes place in the future, as well as the past. -
Stage Icons Glowing and Pulsating
TheDunbarian replied to DTyrone's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yeah, based on how the pieces are scattered all over the place, i'm guessing that it's just a little thing to do. No meaning nor use. Actually, they do serve a purpose. Building the table and inserting the correct NAVcard on TranZit, Die Rise, and Buried will cause the first, second, and third lightbulbs (respectively) to light up on the Easter Egg box in Buried - ya know, the one with the big red button. All three of these must be lit in order to push the button. -
I dunno. I feel like Treyarch would've patched it a couple weeks ago if it were considered a glitch. Really it's more of an "exploit", in my opinion - that is, using a game feature to your advantage in a way that the designers didn't necessarily intend. Hey, that's how training got its origin ;)
-
Technically you could've gotten all 7 perks on round 1 without using a single Max Ammo... ...but I like this better

TheDunbarian replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
Yeah I think when put together it will be the basis for the pattern used in PaP. An explanation might be that these runes were made by the Vril and then discovered carved in stone by someone (Maxis?) and then used on weapons to give them special properties, and they made a machine to apply the runes to weapons (PaP). PaP is powered by 115 though... Perhaps this is the camo for a new Vril-related wonder weapon? Or (less likely but a cool thought) an alternate way of upgrading weapons, using Vril instead of 115? -
Ehh, that's overanalyzing it. I think the point is that he's getting a very small number of points, and since he's Marlton he had to use a "nerdy" word or phrase, such as "micro transaction". Most gameplay-related lines serve only for comic relief purposes, or to give the player gameplay-related tips. They usually don't allude to future DLC.

"Every story has a beginning" - DLC Zombie Hint?
TheDunbarian replied to bbobs2's topic in Research & Development
Yeah, they must be part of the new map. Either that, or they ARE things we've seen before, viewed too close up to be recognizable.
