  1. Well, Shangri-La was smaller than most of its predecessors actually... But this is what I'm hoping for too. I don't think Nuketown is gonna be a map that's exclusive to one type of play (4z4, solo only, etc) like most people seem to think it will be. I'm hoping it'll be a more fun map, maybe small, tight, and kinda hard, cause that's my favorite type. :D
  2. I noticed that when you stand on one end of the bridge - the one opposite the side with the perk and the PM63, where the PaP statue is - no zombies will come out of the tunnel even if the door is open. Superhands noticed this as well, as in his solo strategy guide, it recommends that you spend a couple early rounds camping there to point build. As I did this, I thought to myself: "hey, I wonder how long I could keep this up". And so today, I decided to put that wondering to the test, in what I call: The Shangri-La Camping Trip Challenge Rules: - Every round after three (I'll let you stay in the spawn room a bit to build points) you must spend the rounds in the aforementioned area at the end of the bridge. - You may not leave this area unless you keep a crawler at the end of the round. Exception: If you want to use a monkey to change a power-up into a Max Ammo or a perk, you may chase the monkey, but you have to return immediately afterwards. - All perks are allowed. - All weapons (wall and box) are allowed EXCEPT for the 31-79 JGb215. Sorry, it just makes it too easy. - Spikemores are allowed - and recommended! Optional "Pro" Rule: Only weapons allowed are M1911 and MP5k. Mule Kick not allowed, Spikemores and Monkey Bombs still allowed. This really was an interesting area to camp. I thought it was gonna end terribly, but my first run went better than I thought, and saw me getting to 25. It is possible to train in that area, if you're good enough, but it's very dangerous if they build up - I would say if your train has many more than 10 zombies, it's time to get killing. Try it for yourself, hope you enjoy! :D
  3. Everyone complains because this map is too hard. But it's actually my favorite map of all time, for several reasons. 1. The setting. All gameplay complaints aside, you cannot deny that Shangri-La is beautiful. Sure, it's not as creepy as the older maps, nor is it as "intense" of a setting as Ascension or Moon, but its setting has a feel of its own. 2. The difficulty. The turn-off for most people about this map is the turn-on for me. I like the fact that there's no single spot where I can spend the entire game training. It forces me to move around the whole map, think on my feet to escape sticky situations, always have that pumping adrenaline to keep me alive. And isn't that what zombies is really supposed to play like? 3. The Napalm and Shrieker zombies. Treyarch absolutely perfected the special zombie idea with these guys. When they show up (which isn't too often, once per round max I believe) you have an immediate problem to deal with. They add a challenge. And yet it can be dealt with quickly. The shrieker is just a bit stronger than the other zombies, and the napalm you can simply run past - dangerous, of course, but what's the point of a special zombie if it's not dangerous? Another great thing about these zombies as opposed to certain, erm, abominations *coughastronautcough* is that the wonder weapon will actually help in killing them. Which brings me to my fourth point... 4. The 31-79 JGb215. Known to most as the shrinker, the baby gun, etc. Known to me as The Punter, and as my favorite wonder weapon of all time. I guess it is just really a glorified Thundergun when all is said and done, but it's a bit more than that. It is harder to get out of corners with (those babies can still down you), but to compensate it does come with more ammo than most wonder weapons. Plus, you know it's just really fun to kick those things In conclusion, Shangri-La was intended to be a challenge. You can have fun running in a circle forever on Ascension, but when you're ready for a real man's challenge, you can come on over to Paradise ;)
  4. Yes to all of this. I love the strategy section, it's sad to see it fade away. What's that NML strategy you mentioned? I've been trying to break 300 kills on that, and I'd happily give a new strategy a try Strategies were always a good portion of the gameplay section, but what of challenges? Could we do something here to bring together new and old challenges - and possibly spur some competition seeing who can do the best with them?
  5. I just... I don't even have a response to this... You don't show off your in-game points to other players to show your progression through zombies...
  6. What do you do in multiplayer when you reach the highest Prestige? Oh wait...
  7. I dunno how this would fit very well into the regular game, but I personally thing adding PaP'd weapons to the box would be a cool option to add into private matches/custom games. I'm thinking custom games would allow for full Mystery Box customization: choosing things like the price, what weapons can be in there, if PaP'd weapons can show up (and which ones), etc.
  8. I don't even WANT the perk emblems to change. I like the way they look now, I think they should stick with this consistent style. I'm liking the flow of ideas here, but I'm 99.99% convinced that these are prestige emblems.
  9. It's number one, the ranking system. Those are WAY too detailed to be perk emblems.
  10. He knows something. Otherwise he'd have a TON more speculation videos up right now.
  11. You're pretty dead set on this difficulty thing, huh? I believe it's a ranking system. Some form of difficulty may be implemented, but those look a hella lot like prestige emblems to me. Difficulty icons usually have the same background - hell, they usually have the same face, just progressing from normal to skull-like as the difficulty increases.
  12. This is cool. Makes a lot more sense than having 4 people who are Spetznaz fighting each other...
  13. They actually are working on DLC maps up to the minute that they're released - at least, as far as zombies goes. Not entirely sure about Infinity Ward. Jimmy Zielinski said at the Zombies panel at CoD XP that they do wait for feedback from the last map before making the next, and because of this they have to make the maps very quickly - "sometimes in as little as three weeks".
  14. They have shown that the zombies team has some funny stuff set up around the studio, so it's probably just a fun tidbit. Although, they've been releasing a lot of stuff like this recently, so I expect some zombies info soon. Maybe this will be a street in the Nuketown zombies map?
  15. Yeah, when I said "zombie songs aren't heard until the actual maps are released" I was disregarding game over music.
  16. Have fun guys! Hope you can give us some detailed reviews on that multiplayer. Also, hope they surprise us with some zombies... ;)
  17. I was pretty sure the AK was confirmed...
  18. I think you're making this out to be a bigger problem than it'll be. For starters, I think it's good that UAVs will provide this advantage. It'll encourage more people to use UAVs rather than their selfish killing machines. Also, you know it's impossible to get two UAVs in one life. And if you die and THEN call in your UAV, those points won't count towards your new scorestreak. Also, we've got no confirmation on whether or not these points will have any sort of cap or even be affected by Hardline. I'd calm down, I have faith in what Treyarch's doing with this one.
  19. Well, "reveal" usually implies some gameplay. I'd call that just as good, if not better, than a trailer. I suppose it could just be information, but that wouldn't provide as much excitement as some video would. And I was referring to the BLACK OPS maps. Shi No Numa and Der Riese were World at War.
  20. Mark Lamia confirmed in an interview that there will be a zombie reveal. So, yes. We WILL get a zombies trailer. Case closed. Also, about the music video: in Black Ops, they never made the song available for listening before the map came out. The first time you ever heard the song was in the actual map. I have a feeling they'll continue this trend.
  21. I think the Woods/Mason on the mailboxes and Richtofen on the books were just easter eggs, nothing more. I doubt we'll be seeing campaign character on Nuketown. Now, that being said, I doubt we'll see the original four as well, so I could be wrong. It just seems unlikely that they'd tie zombies in with the campaign that much.
  22. 9/11 is kinda pointless if a zombies trailer comes out lol. Seriously what is the big deal with 9/11 it was like 10 years ago come on. I mean no disrespect by the way. Oh no, I got you. I'd personally be fine with it - I mean, if they were actually making a joke or celebration out of 9/11 that would be a different story of course. But there are some very sensitive people out there who would criticize the crap out of Treyarch for it. They'd be smart to just avoid it.
  23. I dunno about tomorrow. It might be seen as a little disrespectful to make a super-exciting announcement on the anniversary of 9/11. Maybe next Tuesday though. I'm definitely interested in this. It does look like a prestige emblem, hopefully this means some kind of zombies ranking system! :D
  24. This is the way that Treyarch should do this, but it's not necessarily the way they will. Few reasons: 1. It seems like something they would've announced already. I know they haven't given us many details about zombies, but they have tried to tease us about how huge it's gonna be - talking about map size, 4z4, multiplayer engine, etc. If they really wanted to get our attention about how huge it'll be, "it's got it's own disc" would've been at the top of their list to announce. 2. DLC. Treyarch likes to release their zombie maps in the same DLC as the multiplayer maps, because otherwise few would buy the multiplayer DLC. Pieces of DLC are only compatible for one game, and two different discs would be considered two different games. They couldn't release a DLC for both games - they'd have to release one for each. It would either get really complicated, or they would lose multiplayer sales. 3. They'd be selling two discs for the price of one. Could they afford this? Of course, for $60 they could probably be selling the discs in threes. But they wouldn't bring in as much money because the manufacturing costs of the discs would double. Therefore, it wouldn't make much logical sense.
