Where did Maxis Teleport?

I don't actually know for sure, but the word "tunnel" makes me think of Shangri-La or the Paris catacombs. -

OK, that does make sense and could work. Of course, this is 3arc we're talking about so anything could happen - perhaps they even want us to come up with these sort of theories just to confuse us?
-
This makes a lot of sense - but how do you explain what we see when we go back to Area 51 after the rockets hit Earth?

Most likely some form of hacking/modding, although if there is a legit way to get up there, then I'm sure someone on here will know.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’ Release Could Create Legal Issues
heillingalj replied to MrShortKhop793's topic in Single Player
Crazy indeed... As the article says though, I don't see BO2 being stopped, simply Activision paying IW off with cash (and we all know Activision has plenty of that). Hopefully, we will still get our game (and all its zombies) come November. -
As already said, another Verruckt style map would be awesome. I think that part of the problem is that when playing with randoms, no-one ever seems to open the doors because they think the other pair of players should do it, so it turns into a "who can survive longest in the spawn" which normally ends when the host rage quits after downing and not being revived.

Been a while since I've played CotD, but I can't remember ever seeing a map (not saying it's not there, just that I can't remember). However, what I do remember is that there is actually a meteor in that room as part of the Music EE for that map, and I've had many a glitch with it activating, such as actually activating it from the other side of the room or even the floor above. So perhaps this is what's happened. I'll be sure to check this out next time I play CotD though

Ballistic Knife, Ray Gun (only when there's PHD), CZ75 Dual Wield, HS10 (love them when PaP'ed). If camping then Dragunov is a must for me. For laughs, can't go too far wrong with PaP'ed Law and China Lake...

^^^ Definitely wanted to do both of these at some point. Curb stomping an astro would be cool, smash his head then get thrown across the room as a result!

Probably not, but at the same time, Tanks in WaW could be really fun. They could always put gamemodes with vehicles into their own playlist, so you can avoid them.

Spawning definitely needs work done to get it up to scratch - number of awful spawns on MW3 is ridiculous, to the point that I've played a match on Dome and the other team are actually camping in such a way that they can kill you as soon as you spawn every single time. Knifing also needs improving, would like to see it slightly harder to kill with (i.e less panic knifing), as well as lots more consistency - number of times it lunges compared with number of times it doesn't lunge is mind-boggling). Better maps - with MW3, all the maps have the same sort of fell to them in terms of how the map plays, especially on objective modes. Admittedly, I've found the new maps to be slightly better suited for objective modes, but the other maps all feel slightly similar, IMO. Killstreaks - some improvements needed for the strike package system, mainly for support which shouldn't give you things like Stealth Bombers and EMPs, although I can see how it helps newer players. But, with the futuristic setting, 3arc have lots of room to play around with MP, but especially with things like Killstreaks. Some new gamemodes would be nice (especially nice if War came back). Get rid of Team Defender, keep Kill Confirmed. Could possibly introduce something similar to Headhunter or Stockpile from Halo:Reach (not saying these exact modes, but just something new and different). More focus on objectives. EG - in Dom, taking a point for the entire cap time = 2 points, more than 25% of cap time = 1 point. If you are capping for 50% of cap time but then die, and point still capped, you get 1 point as a Capture assist. This is basically trying to reward players who play the gamemode, and stop people diving in to a Domination flag at the last second while someone else does all the work. Sorry for the block of text ;)

Especially liking the Verruckt-style gamemode idea - I thought Verruckt was very good because of how the team is split, and was slightly disappointed they haven't yet brought that back. But, with 8 players, that could be a way of balancing the map size against the number of players + zombies etc.

Improved community playlist for zombies
heillingalj replied to Fenix's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Could be a very good idea, especially for when you're looking for a quick game of zombies for a bit of fun, rather than trying to play for the high rounds. This would be brilliant if we do get 8 player zombies, because it means we can mess around and find what sort of gametype works for 8 people. -
Original PowerUp Machine Idea
heillingalj replied to ZombiNation's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Decent idea, but don't know quite how well it would work in-game. Also, I don't exactly see people giving up three max ammos for what could turn out to be nothing more than quick revive. -
My hopes for BO2 Zombies (& hello again!)
heillingalj replied to TheOneAndOnly's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Welcome back! Agree with most of what you're saying, but I personally think that there is still something they can do with the original storyline - for example, what happens to Tank, Nikolai, Takeo after they blow up Earth? Do they just stay on the Moon with Sam in Richtofen's body and Richtofen in control of zombies left on the Moon, or do they try returning to Earth? Not dismissing another set of characters etc, but they can't relly introduce a completely new story, just different people in different maps reacting to the zombies maybe? Also, I may be mistaken, but Earth wasn't completely destroyed was it? I mean, the three missiles (from what I've heard) were only sent to places where there were large amounts of zombies, and so wouldn't have destroyed Earth. What if there are still zombies left? There is still lots 3arc can do with the current story, IMO. -
Would love for this to happen, have been thinking of this sort of thing for ages. I think if they did do this, then if you tweak the settings even the tiniest bit, Achievements should be disabled for that match, and the final score shouldn't go on leaderboards. I also think EEs hould be disabled in custom zombies, so that we still have the challenge of solving and completing them in the classic gameplay. There are just so many things that you could do with this - whether you can open doors or not, how many points you start with, what round you start on, which perks are on the map, which weapons are in the box (especially want this - could choose WaW guns in box, or BO weapons etc), which guns are on the wall etc etc etc.
-
Could well be a lens flare, but you can't put it past Treyarch to put something like that in - and it does look a lot like the box light to me.
-
I think as long as they keep them simple - honestly, I would be fine with just tanks - then it's good. It actually gave COD MP some purpose when there were vehicles, as people would work together to take them down, as it was in their interests to do so. Whereas with perks like Assassin Pro and Blind Eye, people can just ignore air support etc, but in WaW you couln't really hide from tanks unless behind significant cover. On the subject of getting killstreaks while in vehicles - I think that you should only be allowed Support killstreaks (assuming these are in the next game), but that there is a cap on how high you can go: eg no higher than a 12 pointstreak can be achieved if you have used a vehicle during that pointstreak?

Carnival (New map idea)
heillingalj replied to Rickety Cricket's topic in General Zombies Discussion
For the EE, you could use some of the mini-game stalls that you see in carnivals, where you have to shoot however many objects in a certain period of time etc? -
Agreed, gameplay should come first, story second - after all, no-one will buy the map if the gameplay is rubbish, and Treyarch can probably fit just about anything into the storyline!
-
Agree with most points on here. The problem is that many of my friends (and indeed pretty much every random) think that a mpa is only good if it is easy. The point is that zombies is meant to be a challenge. At first, I was like "Kino FTW!", but then realised that Kino can be so easy, that past round 30, you're just getting bored. Five requires proper strategy to do well, yet can still be entertaining. I remember playing with three other guys, one running train in war room, rest of us in PaP room, when we got a fire sale - those of us in PaP were out of ammo, immediately screamed "FIRE SALEEEEEEEEE!" and charged out, before remembering that the doors shut behind you, so we ended up screwing the other guy's train and running around with no ammo whatsoever for about 20 seconds before we all died. I prefer the maps that I find challenging - that's why I always played Verruckt on WaW (hated those sprinting zombies!) and will still play some Shangri-La when possible, the problem being that everyone is always on Kino and Moon now.

What is your most favorite on wall guns?
heillingalj replied to Nathan169's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Love double-barrelled - especially on WaW, body parts flying everywhere! Always pick up the Kar98 whenever I play Classic maps, normally upgrade it as it's pretty fun to use.
