First off welcome. Secondly I could barely read your post as it was poorly structured. Please dig deeper for effort next time. Now coop vs solo. Chances are you will get a lot of arguments on each side as they are slightly different. One minor correction to your point; there are still 24 zombies at once but more zombies per player per round. Solo you are in complete control. You know exactly how zombies are approaching and it becames easier to set the tempo. Coop more instincts are required because you have to constantly be aware of the situations created by your team. A monkey bomb at the wrong time can kill you regardless where you/they are. Solo you have a limited number of chances to survive. Coop as long as your team survives they can carry you. There are many things that go into a game that may influence the outcome. Solo it's more linear to what you do, coop more adjusting to your surroundings. For those who argue the best solo player shall be the best coop is simply inaccurate. The two modes are so different it is nearly night and day. Enjoy your stay.

I tried it but did not like it. The idea is to hold in the bar as long as possible to prevent zombies from spawning either at the M14 window or the corner by Stamina. Somehow I tend to go too quick and get a few spawn from those areas. I run a big Z from the bank door to M14, cut across to stamina and left toward the corner and then back to the bank door. A bad spawn can really mess it up. Although a bit slower, I still prefer to drop from the QR room. I have also been playing with Lemonade's method, in which you would alternate between the MP5 room and QR after each hoard. Only down side is that it is tougher to pick up perks.

Craziest thing I've seen - Treyarch pls fix
Mr. Jay replied to Chopper's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Amazing stuff, perhaps the craziest I have witnessed. I think overall Treyarch did a fabulous job limiting glitches. Back in the day, it seems all maps had a few invincibility glitches. Play it long enough you are bound to run into a few. I have not seen one on BO2. Well done 3arc. bravo. -
Factors behind our enjoyment of zombies
Mr. Jay replied to Chopper's topic in General Zombies Discussion
The storyline bores me, I have never been even remotely attached to the storyline. With that said, I know the majority of guys on here are for the theories and such, and we have had some of the very best users piped from that section. I came for guys like Superhands, Tom and Choppy and the strategy section. I like exploring the intricacies of the gameplay and how to improve upon the results from the mental aspects. The same reasons why I enjoy YouTube, where I could study and analyse gameplay and incorporate them into my game. And I like to troll other users. I have never shied away from it or cared how I'm perceived. -
What's your best WTF moment?
Mr. Jay replied to Hells Warrrior's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Had a game last night, got slapped twice but then dropped down from top floor. A few seconds later another double slaps downed me. I was like WTF I recovered from the previous slaps before getting hit again! mNjvZwU1Z5Y -
Changes I would like to see in the next installment
Mr. Jay replied to Hells Warrrior's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Great minds think alike, I actually have been brainstorming on what changes should be made branched from the current leaderboards. This game, unlike most others, set forth a great importance on who you play with. The randoms they match you with play such an enormous part on your success and experience that we blame them for the deficiencies. Arguments can be made that no matter how great you are, the three you play with can overshadow your skills and deliver disappointment. Especially true on BO2, where leaderboards abruptly ends with the first drop out. The rankings for a while has been puzzling as well. I started my account with many short challenges and accumulated tons of downs. That played a huge part in my long delayed Knife rank and possibly never reaching shot guns. Guys who ascended quickly with the ranking can now relax, because they will not derank. Perhaps a more refined system, or at least publish the formula to ranks. The random lobby is a complete mess. If you ever want to start a two player game, you need lady luck on your side. Private lobby like BO1 could easily fix this problem. We have come to rely too much on randoms' cooperations, and hurt by their ineptness. Perhaps time to minimize their impact. I have a few suggestions. 1. Keep track of rage quitting numbers. Let it be visible. 2. Let the formula for the rankings be more human. 3. Rounds total not hindered by rage quitting. BO1 Rounds tracking was superior. 4. A better preferencial search. And the ability to boot users by the host. 5. Private match. Mr. Treyarch if you are reading, the above list is my Christmas wish. -
Whats your biggest shortcoming?
Mr. Jay replied to TheBSZombie's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I go down basically for three reasons. 1. Lack of concentration. Playing solo I get into grove and rinse lather repeat. After twenty minutes my mind drift off to a mud wrestling match between Jessica Alba and Alyssa Milano with Michael Jackson as the referee. Then I'm surprised I go down with one hand on controller and the other picking my nose. 2. Lack of instincts. For coop I go down when forced to do things I'm not familiar with. You run a certain circle fluently but then on coop you have to account for others. I go mainly because of poor decisions in the nick of time. 3. Inconsistency. If I have gotten jug on round three then god damn it I expect myself to get repeat it everytime. I go down trying to be perfect with execution in the beginning rounds. I'm the type to go down 5 times within the first few rounds but might not get touched again. Of my 800+ downs on BO2, more than half were consumed in the first 5 rounds trying to fly without the cape. But no matter why I go down, I blame others' deficiencies. Darn it way!! -
You lucky you my boy.

Thank you for thanking me Lenne.

Hate to sound like a broken record but I miss some of the old timers. What attracted me to CODZ were the guys like Superhands and Tom, discussing ways to conquer the game. Over time we dissected many topics to help one another get in better "game shape" to prevail. With each discussion we mold and grow into better and smarter players. One main reason why CODZ is hollow to me at this point is the lack of discussions on strategy and gameplay. I barely pick up valuable informations anymore about the game. Worse yet my mentor has gone MIA on PS3 and become Xbox exclusive. Sure guys like BSzombies and Chopper are still providing tips and guides on each map, but still night and day from the old days. Where have the strategy guys gone? Where is passion to develope and discuss strategies? Where are the "Bat Cave" guys? Can the strategy and gameplay be restored? Armageddon might be coming if they do not come save us.

Thanks to all who replied. And apologies for failed mention Turned mode. For me it was enjoyable for 2 minutes. I like BO2 weapons better because overall they are more balanced and offer variety. From map to map our choice of secondary weapons are different, wall or box. The impact of double tap 2 make shot guns and snipers awesome in the early stages. Also love the knuckles. Overall I prefer the creation of BO2 weapons over BO1. As far as buildables, I thought the concept was ok. Instead of making them box items they make you earn them through scavenger hunting. Either way not a make or break deal. We have discussed the bank, and although I absolutely rely on it I wish they could minimize the impact. How else would you obtain the perma tombstone without the bank?? I dislike it but abuse it when I can. Failed to mention the theatre mode in which I love. Unlike many of you I do not have a video recording device. Theatre mode allowed me the freedom to watch and study game tapes and relive the good and bad moments. Overall I like and appreciate the efforts set forth in the changes made for the new game, but see more changes necessary to make them work. Give me better random lobby and better rounds tracking system. Happy Thursday. P.S. My favorite map on BO2 has become Town. Simple yet intense, small yet complex. It offers good camping spots and good training spots for whichever method you prefer. It requires skills and patience, it demands teamwork and cooperation. It is the one map that most mirror BO1 in its gaming experience.

Change can be good and bad, depending on your view. Some can appreciate the consistency, others prefer the freshness. Many changes were made between BO1 and BO2, and as always some were good and some were shit. Let's open the page on the changes made and let the public decide. 1. Persistent upgrades-These upgrades are different from map to map, and some are crucial to your objectives. I would appreciate them more if they play a lesser role in our game. Perks like tombstone and PhD are potentially game changers, thus play great emphasis in our set up. I would like them reduced for the next game. Rating-Neutral 2. Leaderboards and ranking system-Absolute mess in my mind. There is no definite formula to uprank, a year after release. The rounds total abruptly ends with the first drop out, thus making rage quitting a bigger issue than it was. Although solo leaderboards and statistical tracking were cool. Rating-Need improving 3. Uniqueness with each map- They made it a goal to make each map unique, giving fresh looks to each and every map. Although the idea is encourageable, the creativity was lacking. I hate how much time the bus and elevators waste. I find Leroy crushing debris to be stupid, after game set up he becomes obsolete and annoying. The big picture to have freshness is good, but ideas needed refinement. Rating-Neutral 4. New perks and weapons-The creativity for perks weapons for BO2 was really good. Many new perks brought fresh ideas into the game, giving us extra dimensions going into our goals. Absolutely love the new double tap and vulture's aid. Others like tombstone and eletric cherry were also decent designs. Weapons were also very good, giving us different choices yet balanced. BO1 weapons were notoriously boring, with many guns basically the same with different names. BO2 weapons were successful in terms of variety. Almost all guns were usable and effective. Rating-Great 5. Random lobby-Absolute mess and pain to deal with. I would elaborate but my blood pressure would shoot through the roof. Rating-Sucks ass 6. Other minor mechanical twitches-slow zombies, double slaps and other minor changes were good. The general guidelines to zombies stay the same, but force us to make few adjustments. Rating-very good 7. Grief- A major success among hardcore. Grief mode nowadays are overrun by shot guns and knives. Although I hardly play it, it remains a very good idea. Rating-see above Ok, I'm done for now. Time to head home. Thank for reading.

From the BO1 days zombies would chase the monkey regardless. On BO2 once the monkey is tossed if you are closer than they will come for you. Try to think of monkey as the white player on how it attracts. I am convinced.

Back in the day, let's call it the BO1 days, we had a clear understanding how the leaderboards work. At the moment when all the players are down, the round total is scored as well as points gathered plus kills. If the new scores are higher then it replaces the old scores. The kill total is taken from the highest points game. It has been almost year into BO2, but sadly no one has cracked the formula to the new leaderboards. Forget the ranking system for a second and let us focus on the leaderboards. What would happen under the following scenario? Assume none have any stats previously. Four players start the coop game. A normal four player game until round 25. One play quits at beginning of 26. The host quits on 28. Host migration takes place. A third quitter gives up on 30. The last player downs on 35. Does any of the game count? Does it count until 25? Does it stop on 28 with host migration? Does the last player gets credit for a four player game to 25, then three player on 28, two until 30, and solo til 35? Thank you for reading, and thank you if you could test it out.

Randoms are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get. Randoms are unpredictable, randoms are full of surprises. Randoms can be great, randoms can be disastrous. Randoms often do things we hate, randoms often do things we really hate. Here is a game in which we list our biggest pet peeves with randoms. In no particular importance: 1. Singing or music on the Mic- if you abuse the privilege to be listened to, you will be muted. 2. Asking me to open doors simply because I have more points-I am very points conscious but not points selfish. I will contribute with points but not on your terms. 3. Ask me to cooperate with your glitch-I do not mind you as long as you do not interfere. But I will not go the extra mile for you. 4. Ask me to do the EE after the game started- Tell me in advance if you expect more than the ordinary cooperation. 5. Hold the crawler early and often- I can be more lenient on need basis but not so you can recycle ray gun every round starting on 10. Especially that I rarely use the box. 6. Ask personal questions-this also extends to stupid questions. I understand the need to keep communication and interaction, but fill in the blanks with jokes and fun facts, not why I prefer Tupac over Biggie smalls. 7. Play commander in chief- unless you are way or we are doing challenges, try not to be too instructive. Jay do this and Jay do that will not go too well with me. Different story once we become friends. 8. Quit the game for no apparent reason-back in BO1 I hated when hosts would end game and restart, followed by end game and restart for no reason. In BO2 you are just as evil if you are the host, no movement for three rounds, then quit the game. 9. Follow me around furiously-Stop following me. Stop following me. Stop following me. 10. My biggest pet peeve, Kill thieves-zombies in the general vicinity are fair game. But if you are at window A and I'm guarding window B and you toss a grenade to my window without my invitation then you are a schmuck. You deserve to be castrated and forced to eat donkey poo. Here are actions others frown upon but are acceptable by me. 1. No Mic-to me it is optional, not required. 2. Rage quitting- Shit happens. These are randoms to you therefore not expected to grind through. 3. Immature-I can't complain about you being 12 when I act like one. 4. Discriminate based on rank-Hell, I do it too. 5. Not wanting to play together-some days I just want to camp alone. Thanks for reading, thanks for playing.

Most difficult 1. Tranzit 2. Farm 3. Town 4. MOTD 5. Die Rise 6. Buried both Die Rise and Buried are easy, but incredibly difficult to stay focused. Elevators are the most annoying things ever. Next to waiting for the bus to move. Most fun 1. Town 2. Die Rise 3. MOTD 4. Farm tied for least fun maps ever made-Buried and Tranzit Once you PAP the paralyser you can die of boredom. Best layout 1. Tranzit 2. MOTD 3. Die Rise 4. Town 5. Buried 6. Farm The best design map ever, Tranzit, is also the least fun. Waiting for the bus to move is equivalent to waiting for the elevator. I would rather listen to my wife nag than wait for the bus to mowe across.

When dealing with randoms, I used to get emotionally taxed when things do not go how I planned. I used to complain how randoms for the most part do not cooperate with my objectives and goals. I would blame them for my deficiencies and shortcomings. Then I realized I'm the same jerk who failed to comply with other people's needs. Just because the random you met that day did not want to do the EE that instance doesn't mean he or she is not a good teammate. Maybe he is the ideal high round partner and/or challenge specialist. Perhaps she can be that fun loving noob you always neglected but should team with. That annoying young squeaker was not built for challenges but perfect for that 100 revive game you always failed. My point is that trying to convince them to fulfill your ideas is near impossible. Try tailor your plans to fit what they are designed to do.
-
We define randoms by how much they cooperate with us on our goals for that day. Some days I want randoms who can go to high rounds without interference. Some days I want randoms who forego jug for the box to patch my revive totals. Some days I want randoms who are smooth and communicative on the Mic. Some days I want randoms who would surprise me. Some days I want guys who are YouTube makers. My friends list are loaded with guys who fit the above description. Just don't be surprised if randoms do not always fit your goals.

Is it possible to get both ray guns?? Playing town the other day and got the ray gun on the first spin of mystery box. Since then, spent over 100,000 and no ray gun mark 2. The first part of my question is "can you get the other ray gun whilst holding another?" Even though both versions of the ray guns are available from the box, would holding one version hinder your chance of getting the other? I recall vaguely trading in ray gun for the mark 2 a while back on Buried. Never seen another occurrence again on any other maps. There is a chance I was either high or drunk, perhaps both, as well as imaginary hallucinations. Part two of my ray gun question is "certain maps allow both versions but not all maps?" I would be highly appreciated if anyone could provide hard evidence. Thank you for reading. Go Steelers!

40 is the new 30, an expression used to explain how the time has evolved. With advanced technology and knowledge, reaching age 40 is equivalent to reaching 30 from a generation's time. Such a parallel in zombies? Back in BO1, reaching 30 was a goal, was an achievement, was a door into elite status. I recall the day I finally able to reach round 30 on Five, a day in which I shed tears from happiness. Harder maps likes Five and Verrukt take planning, dedication, skills, and patience to hit round 30, a plateau deem impossible for some. The novelty of round 30 was elite. BO2 maps in general are easier. With more powerful weapons, help of perma perks, and stronger perks, round 40 is no longer a dream. With double tap root beer 2, headshot bonus, and Actuated Neutralizer-94, one can breeze through round 28 without moving. On BO1 you need more than 4 clips of AK-74 u2 to accomplish the same feat. There was a time when going to round 30 co-op takes an afternoon. My Die Rise round 50 took less than 2 hours, and I'm slow. Not only can we hit high rounds, we can now hit high rounds faster. Anyone ever try four players on Five to round 30? 3-4 hours, given you are able to get there. Maps like Die Rise or Buried to 30 will be about an hour, with bathroom breaks and naps in between. Round 30 is no longer a destination, it is now a rest stop. More and more people are able to reach 30 on BO2 that the rarity is wearing off. Not only are the rounds easier, they are faster to accomplish. The line that separates elite from pretenders, are now cut at 40. I'm Jay, be sure to tip your waitress.

One thing I failed to emphasize, is the advantage of utilizing the bank early on; perma tombstone. If you purchase four perks before round 4, you have the advantage of keeping your perks when you go down. You would lose quick revive, or your last obtain perk if without QR. This is significant for high rounds. What evolved with the bank, is the complexity of the maps. More money is necessary and more steps are needed to get to our set up. We only get lazier the more we play, and bank solves a much needed solution to easier set up. Borrow 10-15 grand on round one, get all your things done, put them back after you accumulate 100 Gs. I dont hate the bank, I actually rely on the bank now. It is a luxury we have come to depend on, a luxury we will complain if they take away.
-
Setting up in zombies is crucial, and for many people the most fun aspect of the game. Having the perfect set up is arguably the most important gateway to high rounds. One of the new popular features in BO2 is the use of bank. For a small fee, one can deposit and withdraw as often as he chooses. The down side to the bank is that perhaps games are starting to become too easy. With the help of the bank, I could get all my perks and set up on round one, something that might take up to 15 rounds to accomplish traditionally. On maps without the bank, we go through grind and pain just to get enough dough to check our needs. We are slowly become spoiled with the acess of banking system. Buried, is perhaps impossible without the bank. You ever try opening debris with "Leroy" while zombies chasing you? Perhaps avoid hurting Leroy and dodging zombie swarms? How about just trying to generate points in general in the early rounds? Buried in the first ten rounds is by far the hardest map to set up. Zombie maps have evolved, and so have our gaming strategies. Like other luxuries we can no longer live without, bank is now as crucial as jug in the beginning. Here is an idea for a challenge, try playing without the bank.

Ok I lied, Superhands did not develope the strategy but this is Superhand-esque. Found this by accident, as I was going for round 40. Since it was so easy I quit on 48 instead of my original goal. Some credits to BSzombies as I discovered this trying to mimic his boss round strategy. Not sure if it has been done before as it is so easy to execute and borderline childish. Without further ado, here it is. -jIqwaAKvs4

My friend,I love love love strategy!!!and I love this discusiion!ill be reading it in just a few after i shower Personally,on solo one down usually ends die rise for me :? Exactly how I feel.

Thank you for your input, mostly good points for surviving the map. It somewhat bothers me that strategy and gameplay generate little, if any attentions anymore. A phase long attracted my attention to this place, lately an empty mansion that once was, and once so proud.
