We have seen consistent "evolution" with the zombies mechanics. From the zombies falling off the roof in Kino to rolling and side stepping in ascension, to slowing down in water on COTD, and no gravity and teleporting nova crawler. Treyarch does a pretty good job of changing it slightly to make it fresh, but not too dramatic to lose taste. I have complete faith in their future developments.

This is a great topic for discussions, perhaps we could expand to set up in general regardless of map. I believe your setup is heavily influenced by your surroundings. If you have a great reliable team going for a certain goal you are more likely to stay in "developmental" stages, building for the long run. If you are teamed with a bunch of 10 rounders I bet jug and quick revive are very high on your priorities. Or if you are camping with friends covering a window you have little need for Mustang and Sally, better opt for Ballistic knife. As a supporting gunner maybe rocket launchers are better suited than Galil on round 25. The preferred style also play a role in your set up. Some people are comfortable with Bowie before jug, some will spend all their points on a wonder weapon before anything else. I have seen people forego jug into the teens in hopes for ray gun and/or the special weapon of map and still do very well afterwards. Personally I always make jug my top priority, even though I go down just as much with it. Give me a wall machine gun and I can make my peace into the twenties. I guess I just go with the flow. With this game anyone can make hay with a great setup. I was very fortunate to have played and spectated some of the very best in the world. I have learned that this game is normally determined in situational scenarios where a misstep can doom your chances. Can you make the tough revive when you are least expecting it? Can you make the right cut away from hazards? Can you foresee the window and close it? Your best setup is your mental make up.

Tim I think you might want to cut down on the whiskey and go with something lighter. Great analysis, but a bit far off.

Great intro. I think we are in desperate need of some more matureusers with a better balance of opinionss. No offense to the younger users of course, just hoping for a bit more influx of mature attitude. 30 is a great age, having been battle tested in real life. Many regulars are up there in age, as Ia in my 30s. I think Infest and Way are both in their late 30s, as well as other prominent members like Choppernator and such. Welcome, and have fun. Looking forward to activities.

Worth picking up Black Op 1 for zombies now?
Mr. Jay replied to Bloodzat's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I have played BO2 briefly and believe BO1 is still the superior game. I love Five and Der Rise and still find quality guys to play with from time to time. Kino by far has the most available players, followed by Five and Ascension. I bought another BO1 before Christmas and paid only 15 bucks. It is definitely worth the money, solo or co-op. I have a credit to ascension if you like, given you play on PSN. -
Obviously the requirement for Mustang and Sally is that you have to have experience with it, particularly NML. Tom's quick tips has a great demonstration on how to deal with its splash damage. Basically three shots up close, or two shots plus a hit, or one shot plus two hits. Mustang and sally is the best killing weapon aside from the one hit kill weapons, it is a fact. Good players want the best killing weapon, and learn to cope with its deficiencies. Mustang and sally is my primary killing weapon on Five and Der Riese, two maps without flopper. It is my running weapon on Ascension, COTD, and Moon. My original intention of this post was to educate and influence, in the molds of my idols Superhands and Tom. I was hoping to share my love for the weapon, and what it is capable of. I have no intentions of arguing and defending my claims.

Which Weapons Are Better Than Others
Mr. Jay replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I give him the benefit of the doubt. The data given for the returned weapons look legit, and the new weapons are within the ball park of perceived damage. Everything he's given that could have been checked matched mine source. I would say he's legit. Also, Mustang and Sally consistently kills more zombies than anything available regardless of round. To shy away from it because it is too dangerous is crazy. Good player want the best killing weapon, and work around its deficiencies.o -
Favourite Map from all Zombie Games (COD)
Mr. Jay replied to Broadster01's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Five- I will always have a special place for my first love, much like my first crush. It is very well designed and no overall achilles weakness. No invincibility glitch, wonder weapon not too powerful, reviving is art instead of impossible, among many reasons why its my favorite. For WAW I like Verrukt, BO version. Various great fun camping locations, hard map but not lose your hair hard. Der Rise will be the overwhelming favorite because of the PAP. On a side note I love NML, the best part of the zombie game. But i hate Moon, boring boring map. I love camping with friends, versus running individual trains. -
I guess out of the list maybe the wunderwaffle. There are similar guns to HK21 and RPK available in the new game, so pointless in bringing those back, and I hate one hit kill weapons. I asked for more weapon balance in the new game so very pleased with that, but would like to see more out of shot gun and sniper. Maybe add special effects to those. Also would like to see more tactical weapons in the mold of ballistic knife, awful lawton.

Which Weapons Are Better Than Others
Mr. Jay replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Great list, a must read for anyone new to the new game. I would like to add a few things. Mustang and Sally and Porters 2X are far and away the best two weapons. As I noted in a separate post, game situations at times dictate the weapon damages therefore damages on paper cannot be translated into gaming damages. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26850 Mustang and Sally easily the best weapon especially later rounds as far as killing zombies versus damaging. -
Hi Nick. CODZ is in desperate need of leadership and community structure. Good luck to you, and good luck to CODZ.

Hi, I'm Jay, once a regular on the forum. Hopefully everyone's holiday season is the one to remember. Back to the topic, mustang and sally vs the field. Many of you already know that M & S is one of the best weapons in all of zombies, normally ranked behind the Thunder Gun and the Wave Gun, perhaps as effective as the scavenger and/or the shrink ray. I'm making a case many of you already know, but here are evident findings in my recent research that you might find interesting. On round 15, two shots of Mustang and Sally CAN clear a whole hoard of zombies, given your shot placements are good. Same hoard will demand 12-20 ray gun shots to clear. That same hoard will need about 60-100 Lamentations, or 80-140 AK-74U2s, given you line them up for headshots with decent accuracy. 6-10 M72 Anarchy, plus some room to run around as the reloading makes it hard to fire continuous shots. 15-20 Raids, or 12-20 upgraded snipers to clear that same hoard on 15. Keep in mind these are real game situations, not paper judgements. On round 25 5-7 shots Mustang and Sally, often 8 can clear a path from 24 zombies. Ray Gun needed about 20-30, and 200+ of Lamentation. Almost all of the upgraded AK, and all of Raid barely kills the hoard, given ideal placement of the shots. Same hoard demands 15-20 M72 Anarchy, 30-40 upgraded snipers, or 8-10 winter's howl. On 34, 12-15 Mustang and Sally, but about 60-80 Ray Guns. The best assault rifle in the game, Lamentation, needs almost all of the inventory to clear a whole hoard. A whole MP5K can kill a whopping 10-15 zombies, while the rocket launcher needs about 30-40 pops. Raids barely kills 10 with the entire inventory, and the upgraded snipers used 40-50 for a hoard. Again, these are actual gaming situations where shots are often less than perfect. Mustang and Sally consistently does the best damage as the rounds progress. Only other weapon actually close is the Porter's 2X, with mustang and sally being over all better in gaming situations. The rocket launchers are actually not as bad as predicted, same hold true for snipers. I've seen people trade out mustang and sally for assault rifles, and/or LMGs. Those are good weapons for earlier rounds, or for points. Mustang sally is by far the best weapon to yield, with ray run not too far behind. Happy New Year guys.

My Thoughts on Zombies Thus Far
Mr. Jay replied to perfectlemonade's topic in General Zombies Discussion
This Is what I have missed the most; thoughtful, well written, precise analysis, and/or interesting article on zombies. As a said in the other post, the intention coming in was not to please the hardcore zombies, but reach out to potential new junkies that are tired of regular first person shooters. We all wanted another black ops 1 dlc, but got something a tad different. But its ok, they did their best to accommodate the hardcore fans. I still love and enjoy black ops 1, and judging by the hundreds of thousands that still play black ops 1, I think Treyarch get the message that "we bought BO2, but if this is the new standard we will venture elsewhere." -
Excellent observation. With the success of BO1, they must have felt they got everything they could out of it. Coming into BO2, they must have felt their top priority was to reach out to new fans, which was the reason behind the new mode transit. Also in order to please the hardcore players, they added the grief, as well as other minor twitches to the game in the fashion that was discussed here. I would say overall BO2 in their minds was a major success, as they brilliantly maximized both. Do hardcore zombie players like BO2?? Not sure but I know almost all of them bought the new game. I also know a lot still play the old game because it is still better.

Hi Sam, finally. Sam is a personal friend on PS3 as well as YouTube. BTW check out his channel under the same name to compete/compare achievements. I have learned much from playing with Sam, who recently achieved 142 revives in one game!!! He plays almost every night from 11 Est (GMT +5), and one of the most underrated zombie players. He has been in many epic games with me as well as way2g00. Please be nice to Sam. I recently broke up with Sam (I lost my ps3) and now he is looking for good players to team with, give him a shout. He is a great team player and excellent singer, find out for yourself.

Honestly I have never followed your work, and a bit puzzled by your UOTM bid. But now I understand after some brief scan through your updates and now this. Much admirations for you organization and your demeanor. You remind me of Shooter. We shall call you shooter Jr. (That itself is great compliment)
-
I fell asleep after three paragraphs. Not because you did a poor job, but I have never played the map. Formatting looks good and general organization is easy to follow. Would like to see guides for others maps. Will certainly read and critique then. Please let me know if you do. And welcome to CODZ. I'm Jay.

Welcome lurker, I'm Jay, aka the Jay Walker. What are you looking to contribute the most besides stories???? Game play? BO2?? BTW it must be awesome to mention your favorite topic and have the main author reply your intro. I remember when i signed up and Superhands welcomed me, it was like being a virgin all over again. So exciting.

Welcome, they call me the Jay Walker. Good to see you out of your lurking days, as we are still trying to replenish from many HUGE names absent. What are you lookin for participate the most? Story? Strategy? BO2? Or trolling other members?

I understand what Chopper is referring to. Knowledge of gaming situations, what works under certain conditions and what will not, often make the difference. I have learned much from watching my favorite guys on Youtube and tightened up on my execution. Remember this when I first signed up? viewtopic.php?f=83&t=20603 I have gotten much better since, however I still feel very limited in my abilities, no matter how much knowledge I seek. I understand practice makes perfect, but not everyone can run sub 10 seconds in 100 meters. I love the grenade off the wall on NML, and the jumping trick on Der Riese first room. But no knowledge can change the fact that I cannot pull them off. There are more factors between Chopper the world record holder, and Jay Walker the clown. He has "it", the inexplainable unobtainable winning aura above him. I have the old woman's dirty underwear wrapped around my head to insure I never make it.

The more I think about it and the more I analyze it I believe its more case by case. For solo games, going for high rounds, decision make trumps over anything else. As long as you play it safe and not make mental mistakes success is there for the taking. For challenges and co op games instincts play a much bigger role. One needs to constantly stay alert and react fast to eliminate unnecessary downs. You may play it safe, but some unpredictable variable will get you without good instincts. Once you reach round 30 or higher, strategy becomes the leading factor. 5and5 is constantly developing faster safer ways to reach higher rounds. To conquer NML, one needs pure instincts, while other aspects play minimal roles. At this point of my gaming, I improve mainly from better decisions and better strategies, with instincts somewhat plateaued. How does one improve his instinct? Or is each person limited by his talents?

Welcome to CODZ. For teams you could join team wunderwaffles for Xbox, currently headed by lemonade. Or you could join team grim reapers, just contact way2g00 and he is always up for a game. Be sure to troll him while playing. Enjoy your stay.

No problem my friend, your opinion is always welcomed and appreciated. I may not always agree with you, actually I find myself rarely fully agree with your thoughts, but I always sense a great deal of your apprehension to be well thought out and amicable to disagree. Although I do not always agree with your thoughts, I can certainly respect and feel immensely educated by your view.

Hi, I'm Jay Walker, and I approve this message. Here is a clip from a good friend of mine, King Sam. We have been through many memorable moments and many epic battles, and he is now one of the most underrated players on YouTube. Myself have learned much from playing with him, so please check out his channel and like. Without further ado, here is King Sam with 142 revives with randoms. DPaaFFNQCDI

Hi, I'm changing my name to Jay Walker. Isn't it unfair that Lemonade can easily reach 334 kills on NML when I can't PAP anymore? Isn't it unfair that 5and5 can reach round 50 with anyone within two hours goofying around when I can't even reach round 40? Isn't it unfair that Chopper can reach round 24 without opening any doors on Der Riese when I can't even do that with jug and better weapons? I sub all their channels and analyse all their moves and quite frankly can pull them off as well, until when it really counts. What makes them far better than me when I can do similar moves? Why are they far more success and I'm just a bum? Is it instincts? EyeCntSpel once made a great point about the instincts impact the flow of the game. You feel the hazardous situations and instinctively react to the danger, all without even having registered them in your mind. Is it decision making? Most of my downs were attributed by poor decision makings within the chaos of the game. The "No risk no gain" motto has doomed me almost everytime. Is it concentration? My mind seem to drift away from time to time. I blame Jessica Alba, I blame Gangnam Style, I blame leather whips among many others. Best players always refer to concentration as their biggest asset. Is it luck? Some people have "it", some people have the anecdote for "it". I have seen Way spend the box and get ray gun on the first try thousands of times, yet I waste the 30 grand and stuck with HS10. Not implying that that he is all luck, but stating it always helps to have lady luck on your side. Is it attitude? When I was struggling with NML Tom once told me to pretend it was round 5, approach it as if you knew you would conquer it. Confidence breeds success, if you already have the basic skills in place. Is it strategy? Knowing the best place to be and safest place to run make things that much easier and that much faster for success. Time to cast your vote, what do you feel is the most important aspects in the dynamics of the Nazi zombies?
