  1. The easiest map to date is also the toughest map. Die Rise offers many great camping/training spots, the best wonder weapon for high rounds, and the best group of wall weapons. Like many things in life, Die Rise also lies a hidden catch; damn near impossible to recover from a down. No matter where you go down, co-op or solo, your chance of getting jug back and back to your spot is much more improbable than hitting the lottery and scoring with Jessica Simpson. Jug will always spawn in building 2, where there is no room to maneuver away from danger. The only remedy is the who's who/QR tag team. Many recent games in which I go down after down because inaccessible to jug. Frustration mounts because Die Rise is by far the easiest map EVER. Anyone with a good strategy on recovering from a down? I really really miss the days of Superhands simplifying everything for us. We do have guys like BSzombies and Lemonade doing simple guides, so let's hear what the experts have to say about conquering Die Rise. Happy Sunday. P.S. Anyone want to try 35+ with me on PS3??
  2. As always, your love for the overall storyline is unmatched. Your knowledge, your passion, your demeanor and your contributions are royalty, borderline sainthood. Sadly not many true story guys left to full appreciate, fully comprehend, fully applaud your brilliance. To those who truely understand the o stoned shooter, lets nominate him the Prince of CODZ.
  3. Very good discussion, and you know the support/disapproval will be split evenly down the middle. I believe most hardcore zombie fanatics will lean toward BO1, the ability to replay and reinvent BO1 was off the the charts. When BO1 first hit the shelves, the world of zombies was destined for boom. Throughout BO1, we evolved with our game play from camping in the trenches to training and dominating zombie AI. With each map our skills and knowledge soared to new highs, further development and fine tune, to once unbelievable numbers. How many people before BO1 thought round 50 was unreachable? How many people through BO1 thought round 100 was fraud? BTW round 200 is no longer a dream. With each map our expectations have evolved as well. Last year on this forum, we discussed how slow the maps have grown compared to ours. Right here on CODZ we discussed how predictable the maps have been with our execution. We complained how boring the maps are after round 20, simply circle after circle until the power cuts us off. We complained how weak the melee weapons are, how lack of choices simplified our experience. We complained how lack of creativity has hindered the franchise, how one skill can help us reach high rounds. Some complained it is too hard initially, some complained too easy. Some complained solo is too boring, some complained Easter Eggs are too weak. You get the idea. Now look at BO2, and look at all the major complaints and how Treyarch dealt with them. Can you see how brilliantly they have come up with BO2 and how they accepted the challenges members here at CODZ have sent them? Like most hardcore zombie players, I was hoping for BO1 type of maps. I was initially very discouraged with my findings. But with each discovery I realized they were doing their best to meet with all demands, not just yours. Sure none of the maps on BO2 could measure up to our beloved Five or Ascension, but each map unique and refreshing in its own way. BO2 has been a major success no matter your stance. They did enough for the hardcore, they did enough for the novices, they upgraded the creativity, they strengthened the storyline, they improved the statistical analysis, they limited the impacts of rage quitting, they found new ways to rejuvenate the zombie world. If you bought BO2 and considering BO3 then Treyarch did their job. PS I still love BO1 and still prefer it over BO2.
  4. I echoe his opinions.
  5. Care to show me in game whenever I get the map? Hard to decipher the strategy without having played the map.
  6. I personally love these types of discussions. I missed the days of Superhands, Tom, Chopper, Eye and many other great strategists discuss in game managements in the micro form. To better defeat your enemy, first you want to learn about them. A few things you may want to jot down about these perk thieves: 1. Monkey health is weaker than zombies, a la hounds or nova crawlers. 2. When they stomp, they shock and stun your character similar to George Romero. 3. Grenades are ineffective against them, as they will toss back at you. 4. Claymores on flat grounds are useless, monkeys stomps will activate them without being harmed 5. They generally go for perks, but will opt for a player if they are in the vicinity. 6. When they do the chest pumps, they are immune to attack, not certain about splash damage. 7. They come every 4-5 rounds, appear out of the rockets falling off the sky, scattered around the open areas of the map. Here are the personal preferences as you will see many different versions depending on the person. For solo, I do not like to defend jug as much as others. Losing QR to a monkey count as one of the three QRs eligible for each game, I make that my priority. Although available on all maps, Claymores are more important on Ascension for their usage against the monkeys. When stacked on stairs, monkeys do not detect them therefore become a valuable source for protecting perks. I save my claymores at locations where I will not activate spawn and set them off by accident. For example, I stack four on the steps to Mule Kick, given only one, max of two monkeys will go for mule kick. I stack two on the steps in the spawn room by the top window. Any remaining claymores I stack them on the steps en route to jug. During a monkey round, I run back and forth from the mule kick trap to the turret trap, luring any monkeys appearing in the vicinity. This should ensure flopper, jug, and quick revive to be left alone. I kill any monkeys on-site and the only perk in doubt is stamina. During normal rounds I run by the MP5K area to keep zombie spawns from wasting my claymores. Hope this helps, if not it is always fin to see how others approach the situation.
  7. Hi, I'm Jay, happy Friday. No fancy intro, no BS essay to bore you, straight to the point. How fast can you get all six perks? A few months back I did the challenge of trying to get all perks by round 10. After many failed attempts, I was finally able to get all perks by end of round 9, beginning of round 10. Not sure if it's possible to achieve it any earlier, but would like to challenge all of you to beat it. BTW, I did it twice. P.S. Thanks to way for walking me through Die Rise, had no clue how to play it prior to his tutelage.
  8. Hi, I'm Jay, happy Friday. No fancy intro, no BS essays to bore you, straight to the point. What was your quickest round to Hellsredeemer? Last night I was set up to pick it up at end of round 11, but did not until end of 12. A game last week did everything right but somehow did not qualify to get it by round 10. What is the earliest you could get it? What is your quickest round to it? BTW thanks to way for walking me through the steps to retrieve it.
  9. The strategy and game play is the type of posts I miss the post, and most intersted it. The good old days of you and Superhands providing many great tips and pointers. Excellent idea and analysis. One thing I did not see you mention, the impact of Double Tap Root Beer 2 to many of the weapons. I did a similar study months ago, and found many interesting facts on some of the so called "less prefered" weapons.
  10. Everyone take a deep breath. Do people really think that Mr. Syndicate himself has issues with victims of sexual assault and hope to discriminate them on YouTube through his channels?? I'm willing to bet it was an honest mistake that slipped and somehow caught on. I'm also willing to wage that he has since wanting to kick himself in the nuts for ever coming up with it. People who are sensitive toward certain words/actions need to understand and analyze intent. Someone who shouts "fucking faggot" to his friend does not necessarily mean he or she has issues with fornicating homosexuals, it was more likely just a phrase he picked up from associating with others. We are fortunate to be in a society where we are encouraged to speak our minds. In America we often preach "freedom of speech," but also refrain with "political correctness" in fear of offending. We as a society need to analyze the intend to hurt, before we crucify others for certain actions. Some cases are necessary, some cases are overdone. I do agree the society as a whole can be more careful with word selections. I do agree the society as a whole shall be more sensitive to others. I do agree certain offensive words we learned from our associations could be eliminated. However, those who complained about the word usage will then find other things to gripe about. To the rape victims and those effected: get over yourself. (In the most sincere, honest, and respectable way). Everyone go through life facing challenges and self deficiencies. Life is full of obstacles, not only physically, but also mentally. Just because you bleed out on round 20 doesn't mean round 60 is mission impossible. Winners learn to stand up after each fall, but losers moan and cry and rage quit. Just remember, no one goes through life without dark pasts. You are not alone, you are not different, you are handicapping yourself by extending bad memories. Stay mentally tough my friends. Life is not over.
  11. Good game, although I lost count how many of these I have done. Anyways, here they are. 1. Five. My first and favorite map. Played briefly a few of the other maps prior to this but never loved like this. Great historical theatre, great balance of team work and skills. This was not Ascension where you could ignore your team. You are forced to cooperate with them. Perfect example? Many great starts ruined, I mean RUINED by stupid randoms with their mistakes. Not easy enough to lose interest, not impossible to walk away satisfied. 2. Camping with close friends on Five. Whether holding the elevator or the PAP room, I can always sense the brotherhood fighting along your favorites guys. There are no goals, there is no tomorrow, there can't be any fears. We clutch our weapons and connect our hearts to survive for the next round. I live for their safety, they live for mine. Camping with friends on Five takes this game to another level. 3. Challenges on Five. May it be the first room challenge or the MPL challenge, I have had my share of success and failure. Much like camping, the satisfaction comes from keeping everyone alive and into the next round. No one cares about stats, no one cares about yesterday. Just you, your gun, and your friends, holding the fort. 4. Solo on Five. There are times I just want to play alone. There are moments I need by myself. Five is perfect for that. The way I play in the first 15 rounds are execution heavy. M14 and knife, then Bowie, then power and jug, then mp5k and knife, then Mustang Sally for the thief. I force myself to play perfect, whenever I hit a slump. 5. Any other game that others want to do. I do not enjoy other maps/games/challenges/easter egg hunt as much as I enjoy my first four choices, but a good change of pace. Great game, I had fun playing.
  12. Find that train-Created, inspired, and refined by our own great Way2g00. A challenge in which players attemp to gather all 24 zombies in a set area using only one's movement. It is unanimously agreed that your ability to "circle" zombies is your ticket to success, regardless of your surroundings. Find that train is a great way to polish your techniques, showcase your training skills, and create extra juice within the game. During BO1's tenure, Find that train became universally popular for the replayabilites. Different trains for different skill sets; different trains for different maps. They are all fun to explore; they are all fun to execute. Which trains can you name for BO2? Which trains have you completed for BO2? List and rank trains for all maps. 13. Having played all modes and maps at least a few times, I will go into depth how I feel about this game. A few things to like: Break down of the actual map. The idea of separating Green Run into Farm, Bus, and Town was good. Giving us the freedom to explore the map in the sub form. Weapon balance. Especially with double tap, Mustang Sally and Ray gun are no longer that superior compared to the field. Shot guns and Snipers are now usable, and deliver more diversity. Galvaknuckles. We discussed in length our desires for a better melee weapon than the Bowie. Grief mode at first is refreshing. A few things to hate: Sub maps are very limited in terms of accessories and weapons. Just like BO1, once you hit round 15 the game becomes very repetitive and boring. Knuckle is harder to utilize than Bowie in BO1. Very very limited choices of camping spots. The best part of zombies early on was camping with friends. Can't do it on the new maps. The game has evolved to noob friendly. Grief needs more grief related weapons besides the meat. That's all I have for now.
  14. Welcome. BTW the position of old guy name Jay has already been filled.
  15. They never mentioned their gender. Excellent call. Thank you Sam. Maybe we should hook up. "How you doin??"(Heavy Italian accent) I retract my statement to Flo until further notice. Absolutely no offense intended, just not 100% sure I signed up for the right bus.
  16. You seem too perfect to be true. Dump your BF for me, we would be great together. Anyways, welcome. If you and Mr. Flourescent are on PS3, be sure to join my PS3 team.
  17. Mr. Jay

    Hi

Awesome. Welcome my friend. Did you have your favorite reads as a lurker??
  18. You are not alone in this my friend, many regulars have expressed displeasure over the same issues. I lost count how many times I brought up the leadership issue and completely ignored. I also said the same thing about Pinnaz's China thread. Great work, but the story line is just so boring and totally uncorrelated with the zombie story we have learned from the game. It is not his fault, it is CarbonFibah's. About the staff situation, maybe you should fill Eye's role. Put in a request to be on staff, and have a hand in the direction of the forum you have grown to love. Your popularity among the community will ensure this to be unanimous. About the users come and go, we cannot control it or force it on people. There are some notable new faces who are doing their parts, we just have to give them the opportunities to develope into the new Shooter or EyeCntSpel. A rebound from good long relationships are never easy, but must be done. You look back a year ago the stretch we had with you, eye, tom, super, and way winning UOTM and see where we are today. That stretch will never be duplicated, but some guys have the potential to step up and lead. You have always been one of my favorites, and any world is better with Shooter. Keep your head up. Edit: completely off topic but you are the expert. I'm in the market for a new vehicle, perhaps this summer. Been driving G37x for almost 4 years now, and love it. I might go up to M37X, but LOVE the Audi S4. I wanted the convertible before I got my Z4 35i, and now have the chance to own an Audi. What is your expert opinion on it?
  19. Great what part of the big apple? I spent two years in Sunset Park Brooklyn, right in the middle of a Latino neighborhood. Do visit from time to time, just because. Welcome to CODZ, I can't believe I beat infesto.
  20. Welcome to CODZ. I'm sure you will find someone to game with. We have many older, mature guys here, including myself, Way2g00, Infesto, and other in the 30+ range. In zombies it is does not matter how old you are, as long as you carry yourself in a presentable form.
  21. I actually have one simple idea for BO2 leaderboards that I hope get implemented, user rating. On PS3 there are options in which you could mute the player, check profile, and report. Maybe an option to rate. A simple yet effective way to identify lousy players, and promote good behavior.
  22. Hi, welcome. Or should I say accueil?
  23. Too early to say. My initial reaction was the same after playing the game sporadically on Xbox. After finally getting the game on PS3, I was disappointed and remorseful for getting it. The problem was, BO1 was such a success that they set the bar too high. COD zombies brought a new fresh dimension to first person shooter that we had not experienced in the past. The history of Nazi zombies formed on such basic concept of survive with necessary means was so successful that Treyarch slowly twitched the idea to further the appeal. With each new map we saw and felt the growth of zombies to where it is now internationally. By the time Moon was release, they feel they really need to impress again. Enter Tranzit and Grief. I did not like the new game, but I could sense the effort to impress from the developers. The fact that they inserted ideas into the game for our benefits show me that they care. They could have came out with two BO1 type maps and cash in, but they chose to further develope and grow. Albeit in the wrong direction in most hardcore players' views. Stay tuned my friend, it is not over yet. FPS has come a long way since the Bond days, the same core concept of survival will continue to grow, and be successful.
  24. Good intro, welcome to CODZ. Infest always beats me to intros. He is relentless.
  25. I know keeping stats is a lot of fun for most people, especially in America. Americans love things manufactured by stats. Fantasy football, sudoku, are among the many things we love due we our hunger for statistical analysis. I actually like the old system in which you are given three numbers; rounds, points, and kills. The added fun of exploring the mystery of new randoms is watered down by "other" stats like miles traveled and bullets fired. One stat I like to see is disconnection. Much easier to spot a rage quitter.
