  1. Wow, just wow. Why could they have not released this closer to the game though? Damn you Treyarch and the beautiful masterpiece you have created!
  2. What I'm looking forward to the most is if they make him a true pyromaniac, his comments should probably be pretty entertaining. I for some reason keep imagining him with the personality and voice of Firefly from Arkham Knight.
  3. So the other day Treyarch announced they would be revealing new stuff every Friday until launch (fingers crossed one deals with zombies) and the previous Friday they held a livestream revealing the 9th and final specialist for multiplayer. For some reason information is somewhat scarce on this but I did find this brief article from charlieintel describing him a little as well as with some accompanying pictures showing off a new map as well. http://charlieintel.com/2015/10/09/treyarch-reveals-the-9th-specialist-in-black-ops-3-mp/ I like the idea of having a pyro-centric specialist, it should be fun to mess around with. Thoughts?
  4. There is probably some information of interest hidden deep somewhere in there but as it's not the actual game itself I don't think we'll be worst off if we don't manage to find anything. It mostly looks to be supplemental stuff that will really only make sense once the game's released anyway.
  5. That or they go even further and show the aftermath of the series all the way up to 2100 or something along those lines. Yeah, I guess it depends on where they want to take this series after this game, there hasn't really been a recent cod game series that has gone past 3 games. Technically W@W is part of the Black Ops series but the main campaign was very much separate from what they started in BO1. Anyway, Treyarch will do as Treyarch pleases, and they might just ride the Black Ops train for as long as they can. In all fairness they have been talking about it like the Black Ops Trilogy, as if thats where it ends. If anything they will start a new game series after Black Ops, they don't want to drag it on. I would very much prefer a new one after this, one set back in the past. Or at least something different than a futuristic shooter. I'm sure BO3 will be great with a story on par with the previous 2, I just want to see something new and original.

  7. In that last image, the report says something about the person having a birth mark on the side of their neck. Another cursed one? If the 4 playable characters are representations of 4 of the 7 deadly sins, wouldn't that mean that 3 other marked people would appear in SoE? We do see one poor sap get turned into a blood mist at one point in the trailer as part of a ritual. Perhaps these 3 other people are necessary for some of the rituals we perform in the map.
  8. @Nightmare Voyager (tagging instead of quoting to not clog up the thread as much) Maybe that particular article isn't unlocked until the end of the game where they do a 5 year jump for the ending cut-scene as a sort of "where are they now" kind of thing. I think the end of the game cut-scenes for BO2 jumped a year or two in the future itself to explain some stuff. Though it doesn't look as if we'll have multiple decisions to make leading into branching paths that impact the playthrough of the game this time around either, but I do get a sense that this is sort of the final installment of the Black Ops series and they maybe want to kind of tie up any loose ends and what not from all 3 games.
  9. This is interesting because they've repeated the year of 2065 quite a bit. Though I think this just means they'll be jumping around time like usual. The game is set over the duration of a week or two. That would be a first for Black Ops. Maybe they decided to change the year the missions take place in because, well I don't know, Treyarch I guess.

  11. Wtf is this? It doesn't even say anything? God I hate partnerships like this that are purely for boosting sales. The first 4 videos were so cool and they could've at least given us a map about Morg City or something if they didn't want to reveal more about The Shadow Man. They really should've released these video bios like how Rocksteady did for some of their character reveals for Arkham Knight.
  12. The only connection we can make right now is that the crews for both maps were chosen to be put in this hellish nightmare because of their past sins. We don't know yet if the shadow man was involved in MotD or not or why the zombies have different eye colors if the maps have such a big connection. As I love to say, only time will tell.
  13. The double helix theory and the ramifications of the ending Origins cut-scene are perhaps best left on the backburner until you understand the canon better, as both (depending on what your perspective will be) kind of muddy up the story a little and make it a little harder to grasp. I do not have any sources at hand but I would suggest watching full walkthroughs of all the EE's first if you haven't seen or completed them yourself already as well as giving a listen to the radios in every map on YouTube. What occurs in those is what would be considered true cannon, as everything else we have pieced together to fill in the gaps are technically theories and could be proven wrong by Treyarch in any future map. Canon in this case only refers to what we physically see and hear in every zombie map (most likely excluding Dead Ops) and not what we discuss here, even if there is absolutely nothing to prove it wrong for the moment.
  14. I don't think there's any real connection to "Him" and Afterlife mode in MotD. MotD was very much it's own thing and Afterlife was more or less a new feature to fall in line with the Purgatory/Hell theme going on in the map. "Him" was something that I really wish was explained more, or at least the idea of him explored more in other maps. It should be noted that there are however some very similar animations used between the two, actually probably the same ones in order to save development time for other stuff. As recently showcased by the PC beta files, COD games (and many others to be fair) are notorious for reusing code from previous games. Anyway, my point being I believe that's why people thought there was a connection. Maybe there was, but the idea of "Him" seemed to be completely dropped by Treyarch after Tranzit to me.
  15. I can honestly say that I have literally chosen a near empty M1911 over an SMR on several occasions. Most other guns I will use for points if it's early on though.
  16. The zombie team nor Jimmy were ever the intended leads on MotD or Origins and he was not pushed aside at any stage. The campaign team were always the intended lead for MotD and Origins, just as they were with Der Riese and Shangri La. I am not sure where you are getting this from but if you have a source on it I would love to read it. Don't quote me o nthis but I think they lead CotD too. Like thats from hearing about it and just because of the map layout but I believe that Call of the Dead could have actually been a mix between the two more than anything. That would make sense as MotD is somewhat of a spiritual successor to CotD. Both came out in the second DLC pack too.
  17. The gun called Tempest used by the specialist Prophet in the Black Ops 3 multiplayer is remarkably similar to the wunderwaffe, or DG2. It shoots out lightning and chains to nearby enemy players, killing them in one hit.
  18. Are you talking about the Intel you can unlock and find from Extinction? No, I never actually played those as I just didn't ever play Ghosts at all. I'm talking about how it really reminds me of something from a tv show or movie. Not to mention I get a strong Animus vibe from the Assassins Creed games too from it.
  19. Well, I totally predicted we would get little video vignettes like this for the characters a little while back. I just thought they would be within the game as unlocks through the progression system. Also can't help but feel like the style of these videos remind me of something? Oh well. It's always nice to get a little more backstory on stuff in zombies. And I think it's really obvious now that these characters have all fallen prey to some of the 7 sins and that it's a really big deal to SoE. Like they're making it really obvious.
  20. He's not the main playable character, but yes he is who you are thinking of. That would be Christopher Meloni.
  21. Didn't even occur to me that since they used so much of the same code from BO2 that this may be one of the reasons why it's in there. In fact that seems like a glaringly obvious reason as to why it's there.
  22. Boss rounds in the original were absolutely amazing! They gave pretty damn good rewards and offered a challenge besides running little trains in such tight spots. Let's just hope that they make the bonus perk room not so far into the rounds like they did last time. They were, and I want them to be even better now. And that room of fate or whatever it was called was a fun little meta game in itself, paying attention to which arrows came first and which perk would suit your playstyle best. I would love to see that return with more perks added in as well, or at least have more than 4 that maybe even rotate as to which 4 become available with each match you start.
  23. I would like to see them have the option to toggle between 1st and 3rd person, it would certainly open it up to many more players. And yes the life sharing was awful, I hated playing with randoms because dying past round 8 or so literally meant the end for the whole game. Granted it made me get really good at DOA but still. Also, I just want them to truly go all out this time. A crazy boss for each environment (if it still works like that). More weapons, more absurdity, more exploding cows with goodies inside, I need more insanity. If they're going to do a sequel to DOA, then they need to go all in.
  24. Maybe some of these achievements actually are referring to other game modes and we just don't know because they don't say. To be fair in BO2 they clearly stated if the trophy was for another game mode so this is likely not the case. One can hope though. Also, I can't recall but were there trophies for FIVE in BO? I'm just desperate for more than one regular map on disk, but at least having a sequel to Dead Ops will certainly alleviate that if there is no other map. Also regarding the quality of DLC maps, I personally believe that all 3 games with zombies so far, their DLC maps have all been better than the maps provided on disk. Not everyone may believe that and I'm certainly not saying they should, but it seems like whatever the core experience is on disk Treyarch improves upon it in the subsequent maps in response to feedback and what not. W@W with perks and PaP and generally basics. BO1 refining the EE's and additional perks. BO2 with buildables and well, just generally being better than Tranzit.
  25. I like that Dead Ops is back because it means more content for zombies that's more varied on disk, plus I believe it was a highly underrated map that people probably only tried it once or twice and didn't even give it a real chance. I know a couple of my friends did that, those who I dragged to the higher rounds changed their minds though because it's such crazy fun. And I think this is technically a leak but I've always viewed trophies/achievements as fair because most of the time, they're pretty vague. Plus we always get to see the them before DLC comes out as they're physically updated into the game files before the DLC is even released. I still don't know what most of the zombie trophies even really mean, the only real spoilery one is the reveal of Dead Ops' return and the name of what I'm still going to call Cthulu. Beyond that is still only theories, and I could maybe guess that shit is going to blow up Michael Bay style in the campaign too.
