  1. The whole idea of SNN coming after Der Riese sounds good at first, but ultimately doesn't really makes sense as we are told by the Kino loading screen/monologue from Rictofan that the DG2 overloaded the teleporter at Der Riese, or what is assumed to be Der Riese because as far as I know, there are no teleporters in SNN or any of the other W@W maps. I believe what happened was the zombie outbreak, as seen in The Giant occurs shortly after Maxis and Samantha are teleported, Rictofen wakes up the test subjects and guides them to SNN presumably for Rictofen to pick up some research notes and whatnot, maybe some of that sweet 115 from the meteor lying outside the map. He then takes them back to Der Riese for whatever else he forgot to grab from there and while trying to fight their way out, they happen to blast the DG2 right as they teleported, thus arriving at Kino and the rest is more or less clear. Until BO2 anyway.
  2. I like these kind of maps because they're usually simpler than the newer maps and basically provide that core zombie experience that has been around since W@W and is a nice fallback when the more extravagant maps get too overwhelming or frustrating.
  3. The story of zombies can be explained simply for sure, but considering everything that has been in all the maps it is super complicated if you really think about it. I recall aliens being a big part of the story early on, and now it's Vril-ya and Lovecraft horror stuff. Characters have come and gone, and come back again yet different in a significant way. We've been everywhere spanning from WWI to modern times. It has insane connections to obscure military operations and supernatural events and so much more. It's why we have a whole website dedicated to discussing every little minute detail we can extrapolate from all the maps.
  4. I believe Sam went back in time to Origins as a last ditch effort once the O4 got to the Moon in the first BO, or very shortly before they arrived. I now firmly believe (not confirmed, just my opinion based on everything we know so far) Origins does in fact take place within the main timeline. I'm starting to come up with an idea on how Maxis' presence in Origins and then subsequent maps many years later still alive and with a body, until he arrives on the Moon, but it's only an idea at this point.
  5. From what I've noticed, maps like CotD and MotD have given us way more info on the story than a lot of the other maps have, not in terms of progressing it but more so filling in the huge gaps of info. SoE will probably tie into the larger ongoing story in a huge way.
  6. I feel as if they do in fact take place in the same timeline, they just simply happen before Samantha is in control, as stated above. And the controller/announcer is the "greater evil" Samantha spoke of during Moon. What's interesting is how the radio from MotD indicates the inmates just disappeared and there was no sign of any kind of zombie attack leading to the idea that many of these events take place in some sort of pocket of time, maybe not necessarily in an alternate dimension or reality, that still exists outside of the normal one somehow. This is most strongly supported by Der Riese, and the fact that the clock kept resetting every 15 seconds (I believe that was the span of time, I don't exactly remember). This is also showed off significantly in the trailer for The Giant. Another interesting observation is the fact that the Origins crew doesn't show up until after the clock freezes/resets. This tells me that they didn't actually time travel but rather were simply transported to this particular pocket of time. Given how time does not function the same in the Aether with the controller being able to view several different points of time at once, Samantha (or whomever) simply moved them from the Crazy place in Origins to this bubble, which could have existed parallel to it like a parallel dimension. Just thinking about this makes my brain hurt.
  7. I had always just assumed that Origins took place in another timeline/realtiy/dimension, but given the fact that the O4 look so much younger and also that we know they had their memories wiped before the events of W@W, I now most certainly believe it's possible that Origins is infact within the same timeline and that in proving themselves to be capable warriors against this new zombie threat, Rictofen (after having his mid poisoned by 115) kidnapped the other 3 and began testing them, wiping their memories in the process. Thus Rictofen is the only one left who knows of the power of the Aether and with the memory of the events that took place in Origins, or at least what originally happened before Samantha went back to alter history. The only thing that doesn't really make sense is the whole Maxis situation in Origins.
  8. A moon map in regular mp would probably set a completely new precedent for mp, because if they successfully made a good map with that then I would want maps like one being entirely underwater or one where it takes place in a construction site where you're mainly sticking to wall running and climbing with machinery moving all over the place. They could successfully implement dynamic maps in a way I think Sledgehammer tried and failed to really do in an exciting way.
  9. I wonder how they're going to expand it to compensate for the new movement system while still retaining the original Nuketown feel and layout. My guess is it will actually not be quite that similar to the previous versions. Maybe it will actually be more of a town with more than just the 2 houses being accessible.
  10. I should be able to donate more here soon once I get all the textbooks I need for college, I would really love to see this service created for zombies and personally I believe this site is the best place for it.
  11. If Dempsey was aware of the cycle and Rictofen keeps continuing it, why would he even put up a fight after Origins Rictofen shoots Nazi Rictofen, knowing full well it will just happen again. I do believe he was just referring to the fact that they just changed history again. Given the exchange that took place before the shooting it seemed like the O3 wanted to have certain events happen (the events of BO), but given the look of disgust on O-Rictofen's face when he saw his Nazi equivalent, he decided to forge a new path and not become the monster he saw in front of him. He did so also believing they did not need to set the events of BO in motion to prevent whatever it is they are trying to stop from happening. My best guess being the Earth not being bombarded by massive 115 missiles.
  12. You get a like for the Drawn Together reference.
  13. I would have to agree, not only would it just not be the same as playing that first map at launch, but I don't see how they could even do a zombies beta. Would it be cut portions of the map like town and farm from Tranzit in BO2? Or the full SoE map with limited features? It just doesn't really work for zombies and I would much prefer if no one could really get their hands on it until release like always. Zombies always works best when we don't know what to expect.
  14. Personally I would like a sequel to Dead Ops, it was an enjoyable little side game mode to a bigger side game mode. I can't imagine it taking too much effort to make another one, and it would also be one thing I wouldn't mind seeing it as an iOS game in a companion app or something with it. They've had 3 years to develop this game and why not go all out with another Dead Ops? As for a third regular map at launch, same reason as I listed for Dead Ops. They had a whole extra year to work on this so it stand to reason that they most certainly had the time to possibly make another map. I've seen possible evidence to suggest there is in fact another map at launch. But just looking at what we know, especially the fact that they revealed so much already and so soon. I recall watching their presentation at the DICE summit and Mark Lamia talking about how they always have been so restrained when it's come to zombies and marketing, so why the sudden change in tactics now? That is unless they have way more in store for us that they're waiting to let us discover for ourselves at launch. And on a side note, I would love if we found hidden content again like we did in the first BO. I know it wasn't too significant later on but being able to break out of the chair and access stuff through the computer terminal was really cool. It doesn't have to be exactly like that but something unconventional like that again would be really cool. Maybe this can be done through the new safehouse feature.
  15. I think the new movement system is far better than the one in AW, transitions from vaulting over objects and wall running is beautifully seamless. And it also feels like a natural progression from Black Ops 2, which was my favorite of the series so far. Map designs are classic Treyarch, and are just as good as ever. I am even more hyped for zombies now with this awesome first impression from just the Beta alone.
  16. After spending more time playing it I still definitely enjoy it but the spawning is awful at times. It seems to work best on Hunted from what I've noticed. I don't mind when the enemy defending team is spawning practically right on top of the robot because otherwise one good team wipe would end the match in seconds, but spawns definitely need to be adjusted for launch.
  17. I like it, though they definitely need to come up with a better tie breaker than playing the whole match over again. Besides that, seeing a guy break 100 kills 2 games in a row (on my team!) with the rest of us getting 40 to 60 kills was fun as hell. And I like the idea of creating new game modes that last longer when I'm looking to play mp for the long haul, so props to Treyarch for that. Still needs some fine tuning but that's why it's a beta!
  18. Of all the WW's they could've put in a Easter egg of, it's very interesting that they chose the wave gun. I loved that weapon so I sincerely hope that means it will be returning to zombies
  19. I just shout Rictofen quotes with his voice with every kill.
  20. I completely agree with everything you just said. And glitch is very interesting to use, it's very good for scouting out areas, running with the flag in CTF, and getting out of very risky situatuions, most often in S&D. Personally I prefer the Tempest and the War Machine, form the Battery specialist, as when used right can net you way more kills than any other killstreak. Plus the Tempest is literally a usuable DG2 in mp, and let's be honest here, who doesn't squeal like Rictofen when then get a chain multi-kill with it?
  21. The special weapon Tempest used by the Prophet specialist is the closest thing we'll ever get to the DG-2 in regular mp. And is fun as hell to use.
  22. You're welcome!
  23. That's why I take advantage of the save data cloud feature. It doesn't take long for games to download on my PS4 so if I'm not playing it I just delete the game data and keep the save data in the cloud. Leaves me tons of space on the hard drive. But back to the topic at hand, I got to play it for a few hours this morning and enjoyed it so far. The new specialist classes are a nice change of pace and so far there is a decent variety in every match, none are op as of yet. The thrust jumps and wall running and swimming and everything have all been incorporated very smoothly. It's not super twitchy like AW and mainly serve as a means to widen your mobility. Gunplay definitely has a BO feel to it, time to kill is short but not as short as previous games and so far there hasn't been any noticeably op weapons. And even though some of the features are currently locked, the customization is pretty extensive. The token unlock system from BO2 also makes a return, so I do suggest finding a specialist you like early so you're not blowing all your tokens on that. On a side note, so so happy Demolition is back.
  24. Der Riese is just one of the most popular maps in all of zombies, if not the most popular map. Of all maps to do a remake of, it kind of makes the most sense, especially if it's actually canon to the story, and in context of the story is the pinnacle point in which everything was truly set in motion. I'm sure the layout will generally be the same with a few extra areas. It'll be a fun little bonus for any who are interested.
