I think this would be really neat in the campaign, to be able have some up close and personal moments, and not just with dogs either. Come on, don't tell me not a single one of you hasn't wanted to go up to George and just stick a bowie knife deep into his eye? Or to be able to curb stomp an astronaut zombie?

I think they should just have several musical easter eggs in every map, kinda like moon except with full songs, also having them replayable as well. One could be Elena, and the other(s) could be the "musical guest" as it were.

8 Players; who are the other 4?
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to owner_101's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I'm pretty sure that the old crew will only appear in game modes with 4 players only. If they were in 8 player as well, I could see it as more of a character selection thing (that means we could play as the old Richtofen too) with other characters to choose from as well. For example, the FIVE crew, Cotd celebrities, and I don't think it will be limited to those characters either if they decide to add more. There's also always the possibilty of character customization. That, or all the 4+ player game modes will just have everyone as random soldiers. It's still too early to tell. -
About the supposed story mode...
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to InfidelWaffle's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I would love to play through all the old maps, and new for that matter, with focus being purely on story. Make it objective based, with no rounds, just a mission of some sorts that you have to perform or complete. I wouldn't even care if it was in all the old maps, I just want to know everything. -
Zombies: Things Treyarch should NOT do
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to Jimbogobo's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I think they should add a feature that would allow you to immediately rejoin a session that you were disconnected from, especially if they add host migration, too. As for what I wouldn't want, I don't think it would be wise to just throw all the new features into one or two new game modes, they need to have several new game modes, at least 6, hopefully more. Spread out the new features too, create a nice little mix of everything, so that everyone can play a mode that best suits what they want in a zombies match. -
Reminds me of running from those damn sprinters in Veruckt. I like this idea a lot. Also, the devs did say that they do read this particualr forum site, as we are a bit more mature than others. Brains [brains]

Have i been imagining this?
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to Mr.mashmello's topic in General Zombies Discussion
While just about every map (not all), has been based off a multiplayer or single player map, it would not work with multiplayer maps unless they made them a lot bigger. Also I don't really see how wall weapons/traps/doors/ intereactable enviroment/e.t.c. would really work with this either. Then again, we know nothing about the new game modes or how they work. For all we know, they could have their own progession and ranking system, and be very similar to how MP really is with unlockable weapons and perks and such. Don't know how I feel about that though. -
More Maps for Zombies?
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to deathb4di2h0nor's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I would love, and I mean LOVE, a gigantic map where at the start, the whole group was split into either two groups of 4, or four groups of 2 (the latter would be especially interesting and challenging I think). I don't know why they never brought that back from Verruckt. As I recall, that was quite popular back then, and still is. -
Improved community playlist for zombies

I literally just made a topic for this and didn't see that you already have. I think I like your idea better, too. -
Fattening up Zombies
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to lackingvoltage's topic in General Zombies Discussion
In a way this is what I'm hoping for. Then everyone will be happy Zombies will be fine, Treyarch have developed this from a little add-on to a game into part of COD and I doubt they are going to throw it away now. I also don't think that Zombie "Bosses" will go away, look at Der Riese at WaW, the main strategy was to camp by the third teleporter close to the QR, they have found a way to counter this, although it isn't too popular (I'm not a fan either) it is effective and Treyarch are going to have to take a few risks and some of us won't like it. I really think they're going to make smaller maps to try and counter training in areas and people won't like this. But this is the name of the game, survival, you survive under whatever circumstances are presented to you and see how far you can go. All of these things we hate have made that map unique making us enjoy or despise that map more, Treyarch have never failed to put a challenge in front of us and they won't fail!! About the more is better thing I'm not sure what they mean by this, yes there is going to be more characters and zombies, possibly more maps but it depends on how Treyarch have approached this. Anyway, there is a zombie killer in all of us. I say no matter what happens we will still enjoy zombies for what it is BOII has been hyped amazingly and will hopefully be better than all previous games put together. I believe this deserves some brains [brains] -
I recently saw a statement by Mark Lamia where he was commenting about zombies, and during it, he kind of joked around asking what types of team game modes we would like to see. I think that he was honestly asking us what kind of game modes we would like to see for zombies. We've already seen something like this from IW, with the community playlist. The fans asked for specific gamemodes and IW made it available for online play, they even created new ones, such as Drop Zone and All or Nothing. I don't think it would be too farfetched for Treyarch to do the same thing. Here's the link to the interview: http://www.officialplaystationmagazine. ... er-worlds/ I apologize if someone has already suggested this.

Fattening up Zombies
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to lackingvoltage's topic in General Zombies Discussion
You know, something that they could do is just make the classic 4 player survival mode simple and basic, no extravagent bosses, easter eggs, complicated methods to obtaining PaP or perks or anything, just like how it was in WaW. Maybe make these maps more like Der Reise. As for the people that do want these additions, just throw it all into these new game modes. That way, there's still that classic mode that is kept simple and basic for old, more serious fans of the series, and everybody else can just go crazy with everything else. Maybe Treyarch could just create a mix of everything. I think that would do a pretty good job of pleasing everybody. -
8 player zombies: THE REALITY OF IT
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to sstem's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I saw a quote somewhere from Lamia that said 4 player classic survival will still be there. They just want to experiment with new things. And you'll never be able to please the trolls, they don't even belive in half the things they say themselves, they just do it to argue with people for the sake of arguing. That's why I joined these forums, everybody here seems capable of having reasonable discussions and I just enjoy talking about zombies with more informed players. Whereas if you went to some place like the cod wiki, all you'll see is people bitching about anything to do with cod. Not to disparrage them, it just seems to me like all they do is complain. -

Fattening up Zombies
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to lackingvoltage's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I didn't say camping took away from the game, all I ever do on ascension is camp. I was just saying that for some players, it is more fun to rush, while it's better to camp for others. I enjoy the diversity they've created, particualry with the last 3 maps. I respect the fact that you are entitled to your opinion of the maps, but I'm just trying to think of the fanbase as a whole. Not everybody will like the same thing, that you can't change. Treyarch will never be able to please everybody, but at least they try with these new additions. -
If they're smart, they won't renew it, which will make this awesome game even more awesome. But knowing Activisiom, specifically how greedy they are, there is still a strong possibilty that they will renew it if Microsoft ponies up enough dough. I'm tired of seeing these stupid console wars. In my eyes, both consoles are equal. Sure each of them have their own advantages over the other, but they both do the same thing in the end, they let us play the video games we want to. That's all they are, a video game system.

Zombies Info Coming "Soon"?
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to ccm404e's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Well I guess, considering the fact that they didn't even confirm zombies for Black Ops I until September back when it came out, that makes sense. Or perhaps they will just release info in little increments over time. In all honesty, who really knows anyways. -
Fattening up Zombies
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to lackingvoltage's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I actually enjoyed FIVE and Shang as well, but I also really enjoyed Moon because of the challenge it presented. I love the diversity the all the maps they made presented. If you think about it, do you think that you would enjoy zombies if they had not changed a single thing since Nacht? Even if you did, I'm pretty sure most of the fans wouldn't. Sometimes more is better, and sometimes it isn't. For example, George Romero in Cotd. I know a lot of people hated this with a burning passion, and I often found myself cursing him as well. But when I thought about it, his addition was brilliant. It gave Cotd part of it's uniqueness, and it presented a challenge that was very difficult to overcome, particularly the fact that you could never permanently kill him. His presence also acted against camping, which does sometimes take away the thrill from the gameplay. If he wasn't in there, Cotd would've been way too easy. Now I'm not saying you should've enjoyed Moon and are wrong for not doing so. I'm just saying that when they mix it up like that sometimes, it bring ingenuity to the series that always keeps me roped in. It's not the same boring routine over and over, and it also encourages teamwork. What's the point of making it co-op if no one enjoyed working together? -
Treyarch using theories?
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to thetheorist's topic in General Zombies Discussion
That just made my day. Also, good theory. Seems logical to me. -
There's nothing wrong with expressing your expectations of the game. But I do agree it is far too early to bash the game for the single player. I like the idea of creating branching paths in the story, which allows for replayability when I go back to beat the game on Veteran. As for zombies, Lamia did say that the classic, 4 player mode is returning. The 8 player stuff is in the other modes, and if you still don't enjoy them when it comes out, then no one is forcing you to play that game mode, you are free to play the classic mode all you want.
-
This would be amazing, though I wouldn't want it to be a rectangular path. I want to travel through mazelike maps with numerous and random traps, just to make it more complex, possibly even with multiple paths to take, so your're not doing the same path for every map each time. Also no respawn, just to raise the stakes.

Zombies Info Coming "Soon"?
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to ccm404e's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I'm guessing E3. If there really are "lots of exciting developments", maybe they're just honestly excited about telling us about everything they threw in. I'm still pretty sure that we won't find out everything until the game comes out, but they'll give us plenty to go on till then. -
You guys are really bumming me out. nothing but negativity... How about two teams of 4 players spawning in different locations on the map and the first team to get the power on or buy all perks or something wins. You would have to smartly use your money to open doors to reach your goal or set traps to delay the other team. Or a mode where each team gets their certain area of the map and the first team to clear their area of threats wins. Or a balls out deathmatch all the while zombies are randomly attacking. Wunder Weapons could spawn in various places like Halo or they could be killstreaks along with Hell Hounds or George Romero lol. Hell you could even do a mode where 4 player play co-op and 1 other is a "boss enemy" like the Astronaut. How about a mode where the highest scoring player for a round gets a cash bonus or a deploy-able death machine or something? The point is you guys are being wayyyy too close minded. There is a ton of stuff they could do with a blank check for zombies. I wish more people thought like you. The game is still about 6 months out, it's way too early to determine whether or not 8 players would ruin the game. We don't even know what they will do with that, for all we know, they could just be using the multiplayer engine to fix the host migration problem. And also, if you don't like what they do with 8 players, then don't play that game mode. They're still going to have that classic 4 player survival mode.

Maybe they could just have guest appearances or something, like Cotd. Where we would see different celebrities every map mixed in with the old crew. I would also personally love to be able to create my own character, though I don't know how they could have them talk with that, one of my favorite things about zombies is the quotes.
