You can't tell me you wouldn't like the stat tracking like they have in Blops multiplayer to be integrated into the zombies part for BO2. Personally I'd love to know how many times I've pulled the mystery box, amount of zombies I've killed with the Hk/Rpk, accuracy with the mp40, etc. etc. Agreed on the custom classes for classic though. Stat tracking and a the option to play with more than just 3 other friends in a private lobby. Always have 1 or 2 people left out when we get a party going for zombies.
-
If they do have the custom classes that will ONLY be for the 4v4 thing and even then I doubt it will be that way. I wouldn't mind a stat tracking system in zombies just to show how much I've played it compared to multiplayer (At least twice as much and I've put almost 11 days in multi). Gun stats, down stats, challenges to complete, maybe even maps to unlock that don't involve playing through the campaign. As far as the custom classes go, they might let us pick a style (tank, medic, assault) that helps increase our chances for certain weapons out of the box plus we could get special WW based on our classes. Try looking on the bright side. Its easier to see the zombies that way 8-)
-
This is why they won't make it because you can take the best wonder-weapon (with little ammo) and combine it with the gun that has the most ammo then all you have is the wonder-weapon with lots of ammo in a different body. Also I think WW will start to have different forms because of the (Wave Gun) so it would kinda mess up cause you can't take a HK21 apart. (for example) I wouldn't care if the fusion nerfed an ability from whatever was with the previous weapons. As long as I can rapid fire crossbow bolts I'd be happy
-
I can suspend belief for fun. They could make it so some guns can't be fused and it won't allow you to add them to the machine if that weapon isn't in one of your weapon slots. They could add a minor variation to the body style of the guns to make it look more believable but Hk + ray gun sounds very plausible to me, given the damage of the shots are reduced but the ammo count is retained.

4v4 co-op in Zombies confirmed
Poptart replied to lackingvoltage's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I suspected such things would happen. I just want to know HOW they will do it... I also want 8 player co-op. Don't wanna leave those 2 or 3 friends out of zombies when the engine can support it -
Problem with these is that they would be way, way, way too overpowered. I mean, 10 hits before going down? The best players sometimes only get hit that many times total in 20 rounds, so they would be invincible! Unlimited sprint woul also make it stupidly easy to run trains. I like the idea, but as it stands, there is no way that it would work. Totally agree with the overpowered thing. Plus you left out Deadshot, PhD, Double Tap, and Quick Revive. I wouldn't mind an upgradeable perk system (increases the effect by 50-100% or keeps the perk from going away upon getting downed) but yours is too far out there.

what are your theories about zombies in black ops 2?
Poptart replied to Doz's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I highly doubt that is a box light, since it is a single player trailer. The box will most definitely be returning since it is in every single map ever. Oh how I would love a map that has every single wonder weapon in the box. Zap Cannon + Ray gun + mule kick + Wunder Waffe = Dream come true -
As fun as that is, that really isn't all too feasible for a regular zombies map. They could do that as a mission if they ever do a zombies campaign though which I wouldn't mind at all, although the easter egg thing would be taken out. Also your perk sounds more like a power up drop than a perk, but it does seem like a good idea. Totally fine with that wonder weapon and the tie in with the Vatican.

Please change this in black ops 2!
Poptart replied to selectyeti89's topic in General Zombies Discussion
So people being good at zombies is a flaw? Do you propose there the a limit on how far we can go? That would defeat the purpose of zombies since they are supposed to overwhelm us with numbers. -
Love it. Although I know many people have thrown this around, this one is very simple and a lot easier for developers to implement than most of the others I've seen. I kinda want to make an HK-Lawton. Crossbow bolts EVERYWHERE.
-
I don't see why we'd need map voting since you can just pick what map you want to go to right away anyways. Also the host migration is 100% plausible to me thanks to the MP engine, although I don't know if they'll add in due to the way they've done the other 2 zombies modes with a dedicated host for each game all the way through.

Black Ops 2 Official site & Trailer Discussion!
Poptart replied to Strwrsbob's topic in Single Player
Don't know if this has been posted yet, but did anybody notice that it didn't end with the 360 logo? To fellow ps3 players, you know what this means? THE CONTRACT IS OVER. We shall all get our maps all at once, no more waiting a month to play the new maps. No more closing our eyes at the sight of videos and discussion for those of us that want a 100% unspoiled look at the map (aside from trailers that is). -
This is a victory for us all. Cheers to Treyarch for listening to the community.
-
Its not restricting any guns since everybody still gets access to the box and wall weapons, but the experience gained in zombies can carry over to multiplayer. Ever played with that guy that wants to level up, but doesn't want to play zombies because he can't level up when playing it so he isn't as into it as you? This is a potential fix for that. Also having a seperate ranking system that tracks stats in the 8/4 player game modes would be just as cool for customizable characters if they don't use a standard 4 character model like they do now for the teams.
-
The host is the only one with the framerate drop even if everybody has a 4 bar. I don't get why this is and it only happens on 3/4 people games at rounds 30+. Come to think of it, I only recall it doing it on Moon. The WaW maps don't have the issue and Ascension runs just fine for us. Haven't gotten far enough on Shang/CotD often enough to test it
-
So we all know that zombies is on the multiplayer engine, we're going to get the capability to support double the character models, and all that. I've been reading a lot of what you guys have been saying and think that if they do implement a stat tracking system or a way to gain experience/level ups from zombies they could have a way to make it carry over into multiplayer. For instance, one way this could work is if you have 1xp awarded for every zombie you kill multiplied by the current round number and you get awarded 5xp for every round you complete (revives don't give xp because of the potential for milking via suicide/revive). There could also be various amounts of experience rewarded for number of downs versus revives, challenges to complete (kill 2000 zombies in one game on *map*), or do like Blops multiplayer and have lifetime challenges (Get 1000 revives, Get 5000 headshots, Get 100 downs, PaP 250 weapons, the list goes on) Thoughts and opinions? Things that could possibly be tweaked/modified?
-
On zombies with 3/4 players, my friends and I always have massive frame rate drops at round 35+. Of course it only applies to the host but it makes it near impossible for them to play when they feel like they have a 1 bar while hosting. It never happens with 2 people though. I hope the switch over to the multiplayer engine fixes this.

Zombie Melee Weapons Confirmed?
Poptart replied to ZombiNation's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Speaking of creepy german, I wouldn't mind her using that uhh, shotgun like Richtofen and get it to spray all over my face... all over my face. I wouldn't mind them adding new melee weapons. Bowie knife/Sickle and PaP Ballistic Knife get pretty tedious to use for kills after round 18-20ish where zombies become a 3 hit stab. So an extra oomph would be nice with that since I love to knife/revive with it. -
I'm going to pre-order next week when I have some extra cash. Is it worth getting the power-up card at gamestop? My friend says its only 16$ and I go there a lot to look at games I've missed out on when they were new and didn't have money so I buy pretty often. I hardly ever trade-in though since most of the games I buy I'll keep. Only ever traded in games I hate or have 0 replay value. And the MW3 prestige token reward is bullcrap. I never even bought it since I don't like the Modern Warfare games due to lack of content compared to WaW and Blops (specs ops mode isn't near as good to me compared to zombies).
-
I want to know what sort of things they will do with 8 players though. Normal wave by wave? Different game types like multiplayer involving zombies? I also want a zombies trailer asap however that will be months away sadly
-
When they said that the switch over to the MP engine allows for double zombies and players. Hopefully Host Migration will work as well, but classic zombies with the 4 players and wave after wave style is confirmed. I'd love to see 4 new characters with their own dialogue as long as it isn't bad like CotD was (I didn't feel it had the quality of the other maps with the main 4) As far as the time travel goes, they could do maps through the decades after Moon (70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s). Either that, or just go straight to 2025 to show the effect of richtofen's reign after 60 years. If they do this, then I imagine that the universe that campaign is in, is a different universe than the universe the zombies is in. I think this is implied by JFK's knowledge of zombies on Five, but Mason's isn't trying to get wonder weapons/115, but is trying to stop the nova gas. 100% off the top of my head though, but I do think the universes are different.
-
I'm totally fine with this since it allows my group of friends to get everybody in one game if they allow a team of 8 instead of 2 teams of 4. I hardly ever play with randoms because of this but when we do, its because we are either looking for something different or to add extra challenge due to the average skill of the random being lower than my friends.
-
The invisible excavator glitch is very common and happens randomly as far as I know. The round number problem happened to me a few times and I found out that if you use the wave gun/zap cannon or gersh device and teleport while zombies are being shocked/bloated (and havent dinged yet) or they are still being pulled in by a gersh then there is a chance the round number won't come back. My advice is to put you wave gun away and use whatever your other one is and make sure the zombies are running back at you if you use a gersh device.

Quelling Hardcore Zombie Player Fears w/ some speculation
Poptart replied to ASmoothCriminal's topic in Single Player
when people do that I have fun 'fake reviving' them when they inevitably die or I trap them. Those who play dirty will be outplayed by the elite or at the very least, they won't get helped. If you play like an ass then you won't get revived. 100 times this. Zombies is a team game, and if you go around hoarding your points by not opening doors, stealing the teleporter on Kino, stealing kills, overusing the box, then have fun going down and staying down or at least not getting help with getting your juggernog back. My friends and I will occasionally do these things just to screw with each other but if we are aiming to get a high round or playing with randoms, then we play like teammates should (or at least until we get perma perks and a down isn't all that bad so we can screw around a little more with crawlers at the end of rounds). [brains] for you criminal. Had a game a week or 2 ago where a guy kept stealing kills, wouldn't open any doors even though he had at least 4000 points more than the next guy, kept overusing the box, wouldn't throw his monkeys except for hoarding when we had our own train. Once he ran out of monkeys, me and my friend ran out trains towards him and hauled ass out of there. Lost his ray gun and we got the zues cannon away from him. Too bad he didn't have a microphone because I would have loved to hear his reasons for being retarded. -
Mark Lamia gave us Zombies info, but what did he mean?
Poptart replied to CheezyWeezle's topic in Single Player
As far as the custom modes go, I'm all for it and hope they actually do put that in the game. If there can be more than 4 people too that would be AWESOME since my friends and I always have either those one or two people that get left out when we all want to play some zombies so that would solve that problem instantly and forever. Your point for number 2 I feel may be stretching it a little. The consoles only have 256mb of ram to use for maps and putting that many zombies and a map that big together along with up to 7 other people would result in a disastrous frame rate for the host at fairly low rounds. Whoever hosts our moon games with 3 or 4 people usually gets a frame rate drop around 35 and up. And your 3rd point I can sort of agree with. New places, yes, but going off into other dimensions seems a little far fetched seeing how richtofen and samantha want this one I do like the idea of going to mars, however I'd like to see what happened to earth and try to help samantha get her body back.
