The campaign and zombie are in the same timeline. The Moon Nukes allegedly take place in 12/21/12, since the world 'ends'. So maybe the nukes hit, and the world is sent into a chaos, not knowing who to blame. And since DARPA failed it's mission of keeping us from surprise, it is replaced by TACITUS.
