  1. I agree, it makes absolutely no sense and is an affront to the whole notion of ranks. The whole point of ranks is to get a judge of skill level. With this system you see a rank and have no idea at all of the skill level of the player. Might as well just trash the whole system and try again.
  2. I'm pretty sure the kill/down theory is wrong. While going through my friends list last night I noticed one of my friends has been ripping it up. I'm not at my house so I don't have the exact numbers but this is what I found. He has knife with 5 slashes. I've seen him online everyday playing solo mostly. His kill to down is approx 165. His kill to death is over 200. According to most theories concerning kill / down,, he should be max rank. Also he has been very active these last two weeks and putting up 40+ gameplays almost daily. I think this is a prime example of how the kill/down theory fails.
  3. I think it's an alright multiplayer. I don't have many lag issues a few but manageable. But I do know that if you consistently pull host you will experience lag compensation which can effectively keep you a second behind everyone. My friend has fiber optic internet with less than 10 ms ping nearly anywhere in the us, and he found the game unplayable. Shooting but never fired on killcam, lost every gun fight, the list goes on. He said he "nerfed" his router and restricted his nat to avoid host and he can mostly play now. My only issues with the game are map layout (too cluttered) and low recoil. Gone are days of cod 4 i guess  , I need to lower my standards. I still put black ops 1 over this game as well, blops 2 is tied with mw3 currently. (Yay you aren't broken like mw2 good job!)
  4. @ Triple X So by your own reasoning, if blops 3 made you hack into a database from the main menu, banter around an ms-dos menu trying passwords before you could even get into the zombies platform, you would find that acceptable? I mean it would bring the element of discovery to new parts of the game right? Maybe blops 4 could be in encased in an 8x8 rubics cube, with directions written in a code encrypted with RSA? The point I'm making here, is yes, discovery is a great and wonderful aspect of zombies. However, that should remain with the story. When you cross that over into the menu mechanics and leaderboards and ranks, you end up with a confusing mess. I don't consider discovering how the ranking system works a great discovery full of twists and turns and lost connections (like the story). I consider it a waste of time.
  5. Just wanted to point out in case Way is tracking this information that your kill/death and kill/downs are reversed. k/death = 213.11 k/down = 112.29
  6. The ranking system should have been explained in the Maxis diary entry when I first turned on the game. I know zombies are supposed to mystical and what not, but this is like changing the prestiage system for multiplayer into something no one understands and then not explaining it. The ranking system is not some piece of the story or a means to discovering the remaining secrets of the TranZit map. It's part of the newly added statistical interface and it has not been explained at all. Even the video you posted has the guy saying there's extra factors to it, that he doesn't completely understand. And something like this shouldn't require statistical analysis to figure out. It should be told to us. This is the first game I've ever seen that included a ranking system where 3 weeks in the community still had no clue how the mechanics works.
  7. Lol i got into a random match the other day, with a kid who had the knife. He started freaking about his rank when he went down and dashboarded. Funny I enjoyed the other random, who was a squeaker and had never played tranZit before more than him.
  8. I'd assume leaderboards cap at round 99 like black ops but it will still allow you to keep going. Stated with no proof whatsoever.
  9. I've never had a problem with people using semi-harmless glitches in zombies. As long as it doesn't mess up the leaderboards I am fine with it. Could someone use this to get farther then they might without it? Sure. Could someone use this to get ultra high rounds/stats on the leaderboards? No. Therefore I'm fine with it for the most part, although I wouldn't use it myself. Same deal with the hacker on moon. Sure it was a glitch, some might consider any good games done with a split hacker invalid but it wasn't leaderboard breaking and only made things slightly less annoying / time saving. Now the round skipping glitch on Moon, is a different story as it directly affected the leaderboards, hence the abundance of high round games on that map. If this was multiplayer where I actually face off against other players then I scorn all glitches but in zombies as long as it doesn't effect me or ruin my experience I have little to no concern over harmless things like this.
  10. I assume that someone would have found this by no-clipping already. So not likely.
  11. Well it is a glitch, much like splitting the hacker on moon. Yet useful, especially for doing the Richtofen EE.
  12. One thing that has stood out to me is the fact that they took out a way to gather all the perks permanently. This was introduced in Shang and carried over to moon, kind of surprised that it was left out of BO 2, unless the EE has more to it still undiscovered. Also, Flopper and Mulekick got removed. While I never was a strong supporter of Mulekick, Flopper was arguably the best perk in the game after Jugg. Why they removed this perk still preplexes me, although I suppose it's due to the fact that it would be OP considering the amount of lava and fire. We get Tombstone instead, while useful, it's usefulness is only there because of the size and non-ability to move through TranZit quickly. That aside, I enjoy the survival maps and the Grief mode. I'm glad they added this, even if the maps do not feel quite as glorious as those of Black ops. TranZit I'm still not sold on, but I'm coming around. Good post Perfect, pretty much spot on.
  13. So the stat "taints" tracks how many times you've hit enemies with it then? I have been wondering about this for a while, thanks for clearing it up.
  14. So since we're talking about Grief...anyone know what a taint is?
  15. I love Grief, it has quickly become one of my favorite gamemodes. Shorter games and competitive nature while still having the co-op factor makes it great! One example of the teamwork and competitive nature of the game is: Me and my friend were playing grief on town the other day. Neither of us had a down and our teammates had backed out somewhere on the way to round 20. The opposing team had been doing alright one guy also had 0 downs was mostly carrying as his teammates had started going down a lot. Well anyways my friend had to go so we knew we had to do something quick. Their good player decided to go camp near the hole in the wall in jugg building. We came up with a plan. My friend gathered a hoard in the bar and once complete brought it directly below the hole in the wall. I ran up and knifed him through the hole. He fell and got downed. We won. It was fun  .
  16. @OP I know your pain. When I first bought the game I could play every gamemode online except TranZit! Every other mode found games almost instantly, but TranZit I literally could not find a game for the life of me. When I happened to get into a game, I lagged so bad that weird things would happen like lagged out of bus while moving, everyone sees me go down on bus then I'm out in the road, lost my gun, and running for my life. My landlord messed with his router and it works now thankfully. I still lag a little bit but I can play now. Check your router settings.
  17. The first time I played the map, I had to run into the other room real quick while the loading screen was up. I came back and was down . On topic: Maybe if the crew was teleported there, the zombies were pacified by the teleporter effect in the room.
  18. I haven't really tried for any high rounds yet (connection issues for quite a while), but when I get home I'll try to remember to update this post with the info. I do see a problem with your ranking theory however. It does not take Grief into account whatsoever. I am positive that I jumped from 2 bones to skull after a Grief match last week. I am currently a skull with blue eyes and the blue eyes updated after a grief match last night. Thank god I can finally play this game. So any sort of ranking system based solely on rounds would completely disregard Grief, as rounds have no pertinance to that gamemode. There must be more going on here. I tend to believe that activity is the largest factor, after that who knows. :?
  19. Thanks for the link. He's doing something not legit here as the perma-abilities don't translate to non-TranZit game modes and he's definently not playing TranZit. Oh well.
  20. Yeah, this was known quickly after the achievements were leaked. When I loaded the game for the first time, I said oh yes I was right. I made a few posts on the subject when the leak happened, but they were removed. I resorted to cryptic clues to help people along. They are around here somewhere.
  21. Yeah probably not smart, but not really surprising either. These are the same people that denoted a nuclear device inthe upper stratosphere pretty much for "fun". They and the USSR really had no idea what the effect would be and some scientists beleived that such explosions could ignite our atomsphere killing all life on Earth. They did it anyways. Ohhh look pretty lights. /facepalm.
  22. Are you sure it was in Grief? As far as I know, there is not an equivalent of the TranZit perma-abliities in different game modes. That effect sounds like a nerfed perma-flopper and I want it. The video shows him as the CIA team, so I assume its Grief?!? Correct? Thats why I was wondering if there were an explainable reason in Greif you could take fire without damage. And to make it more fishy he disabled comments on the video after I questioned it. Yeah that would be either survival or grief. If it was on town, you should be to see the pap, a wall gun, or maybe the box light in the outside position. Definently sounds like he used a glitch or a hack to disable fire damage. Still post the link please.
  23. It's 200-300 boards in one game, not 200,300.
  24. I believe the revives need to come from the same teammate for it to work. I know with 50+ at least one person would have to be in the range (15-20) to get it, but not gaurenteed since it happens randomly at different values. I think 60+ revives would be gaurenteed, as long as it doesn't glitch. And yes the QR ability is definitly worth it. It's a very noticable increase.
