  1. One could argue that (within the isolated, topsy-turvy) universe of zombies, all of the historical events and characters were entirely made up. The weasel fabricated all of the characters, who (by an obvious stretch from treyarch) hold parallels to real life people. This would account for several anachronisms in the story relative to historical events. For example certain characters presumed KIA (Kennedy, the CotD crew, etc.) didn't actually die at the times or locations shown in-game. This can be explained by the fact that the weasel is just making up a story. The fact that his "original" characters are all real historical figures from the future (relative to him) can be explained in 2 ways IMO: 1. Time Travel. Weasel knows the future, and is basing his comic off of real events and characters. He could have somehow time-traveled to the future and learned there what happens in the past (relatively still his future.) like in Back to the future part 2. 2. Omnipotence. He doesn't know the future. He is creating the future. His comics could be like prophecies, and the future events depicted in them occur decades after they are originally written. That second one is pretty psychedelic. Those are just 2 dramatic ideas that occured to me. I don't necessarily agree with this idea because of how far you have to venture to secure the loopholes. However its an awesome idea and i want to help it as best i can!
  2. In the opening cinematic we literally see the guard turn into a zombie in 10 seconds, with no indication of past memory or even any human consciousness. i dont think being newly turned can affect the boss. if george romero is 50% human, 50% zombie, this guy is more like 75 to 25. he is always aggressive and zombified but still has a slight degree of self-awareness and a slight capacity for human thought.
  3. I feel like its probably just a portal to hell within Alcatraz, rather than the prison itself being a portal. And yes, I think the portal is to hell. You made some really nice points and brought up some cool stories here! Well done. +1 Edit: you should be careful using the word "proof." sure it's very solid evidence, but until we know without a shadow of a doubt that he'll is on the other side we can't say anything about it is proven. I mean it's kinda like when we thought the zombie shield was going to return. we saw all the parts in the trailer so it was basically confirmed, but we couldn't actually say "the shield is back" until we actually got the map. Just be careful with the word "proof."
  4. The same idea with the drains occurred to me too. Since the Vitriolic Withering liquified the zombies and the Zombies themselves contain copious amounts of 115, soaking a spoon in it might power the spoon up in some way. The exact way this occurs is unclear (chemical reaction?) but we know that 115 enhances weaponry. It isn't exactly a conventional weapon initially but still. What I don't understand though is exactly what happens to the spork to enhance it. For example the Bowie knife is powerful because it's massive. However the spork is the same size as the combat knife roughly and realistically nowhere near as sharp. It doesn't use electricity, fire, or acid (as far as we know.) it's just inexplicably more powerful. Also couldn't the spork be considered a wonder weapon?
  5. I would like to draw your attention to the signs near the diner on Green Run. As you probably know the signs have coincidentally burned out in such ways that they spell out "Now Die," "On 4 U," etc. however, in turned most of the letters are still illuminated. Since we can safely assume the bulbs burnt out over time, we can say that turned takes place shortly before the events of green run. As for an actual purpose for the mode, we can guess that richtofen is just amusing himself by toying with his minions. He might also be "training" for his upcoming exertions of power in Green Run, establishing the extent of his control and "omnipotence." What exactly does establishing a setting for Turned help us with? ... To be continued. Just something I noticed that seemed worth mentioning.
  6. The people controlling the zombie's can send their voice to earth from the aether for players to hear. However as far as we know they can't manifest themselves in a physical form. For example, apart from Samantha's physical body in the MPD, we have never seen the aetherial Sam, richtofen, or maxis. As these are the 3 most powerful entities so far, I doubt a random insignificant soul like russman's could actually appear as a physical entity without some kind of power while the controllers can't. But it DOES look like russman. So maybe he isn't just a random insignificant soul. Another idea is that russman is in control in MotD. If so then he might just pop up to scare us for the sole purpose of amusing himself by scaring us (very effectively I might add.) however as there is no tangible evedence that it is russman, my conclusion (and TL;DR) is that... Whoever is in control is projecting a scary image of themself just to mess with us. It's another method of torment in this purgatory state in which Alcatraz is suspended. That's not necessarily true but I find it most likely. Besides Russ has his same personality in Die Rise (where he "dies") as in GR, so I doubt he has been taken over / had his soul evicted. His death there is just used to emphasize the ressurection cycle exaggerated in Die Rise.
  7. My "dislike" of DOA is more along the lines of "Ain't nobody got time fo dat." let's say you see a nickel sitting next to a brick of gold. You snatch up the brick of gold and completely disregard the nickel. Why? It's a perfectly good nickel. There's nothing wrong with it. However it serves as a distraction from the gold which is exponentially more valuable. You hardly need the significantly less valuable nickel. You've got gold! Why would you need it! It's useless to you! DOA = a nickel Normal Zombies = Gold Like I said, ain't nobody got time fo dat. But if MotD does exist outside the reaches of time, I don't see why lucifer couldn't snatch the perks from any time he wants. Think of it this way. Hell is like a crossroads. Many different times intersect it. One of these times is a zombies map containing perks, which exist in an aetherial state in hell, as they don't truly belong. They exist on a convergent timeline but not at the exact point at which they intersect (the vertex if you will). Alcatraz is another converging setting, which explains why the map is mostly intact (this actually DOES overlap with the vertex.) Hmm...
  8. As most of you know, most maps have a comic book page on their loading screens. These maps are all the WaW maps, all the BO1 maps except for "Five", then Nuketown, and Die Rise. (Five is a shot of the 4 survivors, Green Run are a series of postcards, and MotD features a bunch of drawings. What you may not have noticed on the Nuketown page is that the staples in the comic book are visible. Everyone who has read a comic book knows that this means the book is halfway over. Based on this count, there are 8 comic book page maps before the staples, so we can assume 8 more will be after Nuketown. Since we've already seen 2 pages after nuketown, we can guess that there are 6 pages left after mon of the dead. However that only includes maps that are featured as comic book pages. It's likely more than one future map will not be a comic book page. So that means there will probably more maps in the future than there are pages left. Bearing that in mind, there will most likely be at least 6 more zombies maps in the future. And unless map pack 4 is an all-zombies map pack, this means there might just be zombies in the title after GHOSTS. Also they don't even necessarily have to end it with the comic; there could be "Nazi Zombies the Comic: Part II"
  9. Hey all! Ok so firstly, if you look closely while playing DOA (not that you would ever play it ) you will notice that the zombies have red eyes. As we know, they also have red eyes in mob of the dead. Now why might this be? What connection could the two very seperate maps / modes hold? Well, let's first look at MotD. We know a seemingly demonic in nature being is in control. The being is often referred to as lucifer. The characters are trapped in an endless cycle of resurrection and failed escape attempts. The characters even remark on things like power-ups, saying stuff like "god, another way to extend our torture." from this we can concludd that MotD's characters are being subjected to the kind of torment richtofen might enjoy, by actually playing with his prisoners for his own amusement. The mobsters are trapped in sort of a game. Now bearing in mind that call of dury zombies is in fact a video game, mob of the dead draws our attention specifically to the fact that death and ressurection in no way affect the characters' presence in subsequent games. It's like they are subtly breaking the fourth wall and setting up an in-game scenario identical to the actual game scenario. Now obviously DOA takes on a much less realistic form than MotD or the other maps. In fact DOA can hardly be considered a map. My point is that it takes on more of a mini-game type feel than anything. So in a much more direct sense, DOA is more of a "game" than the rest of zombies. Do what do we know, or what can we infer? > DOA and MotD have the same controller of the zombies. > Both are a sort of game, yet also a prison of sorts. (the second one might just be evidence of the first.) The one that jumps out is that they may have the same controller. As I said DOA is hardly considered a map. However, this might establish an actual setting for the map in relation to MotD. A commonly held notion is that the MotD 4 exist in hell, or some warped form of hell through the rift. Let's consider the possibility of DOA existing in hell. An anonymous man fights through hordes of impossible numbers of undead in an unrealistic area. Even upon conquering the Cosmic Silverback he is returned to the start, with rven more undead to take on. Upon finally succumbing to the impossible numbers, he is seemingly rewarded with gems and such, only to be beaten and robbed by the silverback, and forced to restart. Yep, sounds pretty hellish. Now as for a time setting, here is my idea. We know in MotD initially it takes place in the 30s. However upon suddenly transitioning to the hellish nightmare of a prison as seen during actual gameplay, it has entered hell. In hell there is no time. So while Alcatraz and the mobsters existed in Alcatraz, they were in the timeline. Afterwards they were completely off the grid. Consequently DOA was never ON the grid, so it never existed on a timeline relative to the rest. DOA's arena only ever existed in hell. For all intents and purposes, it IS hell. (or at least a small part of it.) I'm not so sure it's possible to gather any significant clues for future use from this, but it's fun to look back at what makes sense now, but was just sort of blegh back then. Also is it just me or is playing DOA basically hell anyway? Dat awful mode.
  10. Atlantis and Agartha both keep popping up around here. I don't doubt they will hold more direct significance, but I'd only bet on one of them becoming an actual map. Also we've already been on mars.
  11. I remember several years ago replacing all the default windows sounds on my brother's computer with screams. Any time he clicked, or did anything else-- AAAAHAAAAAAAAHHH!!! The scream sound effect I used was this exact one. I recognized it immediately both now and when I heard it in the MotD cutscene. Not only is it a reused sound effect, but it isn't even an original sound. :D
  12. I saw a thread (I don't remember who posted it; I think it might have been Tac or Grill) that gave a bunch of evidence about NML being in the 60s. Something about the groom lake banner I think. In retrospect NML could have gone unchanged for decades being deserted, allowing it to appear as though it were In the 60s, despite it being in the future. In other words the banner has been there for quite a while. The future idea makes sense now though.
  13. So you're saying the missiles detonated in the future? And therefore moon is also in the future? My problem was that I was basing my statements on the assumption that moon took place in the 60s. Well if it doesn't, then My ideas... *flushes toilet*
  14. What happens if you're severely damaged and enter purgatory mode? Are you that hurt when you get back up? So for example you have a red screen and panick and hit a purgatory switch. Does it affect afterlife, and does the damage regenerate when you respawn?
  15. My 2 favorites have always been Nikolai and Richtofen. I certainly remember restarting until I got one of these two. Now that richtofen is off being an aetherial being, yes, I want Nikolai back! The N4 are alright, but come on.
  16. Remember the Maverick Code? I don't remember exactly the original code, but decided it said something like "Viktor Reznov is dead, or is he? You never saw the body." or something like that. Essentially it just hinted towards Reznov surviving vorkuta. The game tries to convince you that he's dead, but there is in fact no proof of that, and quite a few hints otherwise. As far as we know, Reznov is NOT dead. Honestly I still think the jump scare looks more like Russ than Rez (though it certainly isn't the spittin' image of Russ anyway.) who knows.
  17. Oh, it turns out I can't read. If treyarch takes on this idea I hereby say that any royalties shall go to ElectricJesus. Sorry about that. Oh I wasn't accusing you of stealing my idea or anything! I was just like "wow he totally missed that lol". We can have joint custody of the idea! Just sign on the line. _______________________ X How about a new new idea? Hand-held Acoustic Magnification Mechanism (they'll call it the HAMM for short) It's basically an insane looking futuristic megaphone used like a thundergun. You press the trigger and a small scratchy electronic noise rings out like someone receiving feedback from a microphone that has just been turned on. Then you raise it in from of your face (almost completely obscuring your character's view) then scream. A massively amplified scream blasts out of the front, shaking your screen and sending zombies either flying backwards or their heads just blow up. After each shot, you open a latch, dump out a blown speaker, and carefully reinsert a new one. This takes a while and must be done after each shot. The drawbacks are that it impedes your view while in use, and it needs a reload after each shot. Also things like EMPs or a possible electric-based boss would temporarily disable it. Upgraded it is the H.A.M.M. Equipped w/ Gravitational Guidance Systems (yes, the HAMM + EGGS) Now upgraded it has a secondary function. Use the D-Pad to activate the new attachment. Using it adjusts your grip to a two-handed shotgun style grip. Blasting it creates a much smaller shockwave, which knocks zombies over and away with little to no damage. You can use this for a quick getaway or to strategically blast them off of edges.
  18. Firstly you guys need to understand that there are loads of anachronisms in zombies. What "should" or "should not" exist in the past / future is often blurred. For instance, teleporters and unrealistically powerful space-age guns should not exist in the 40s, but they do. Not everything is 100% chronologically accurate, compared to the real world. So do the people in MotD. So.. you're saying that all the Black Ops 2 maps take place in the future, because all of them use BO2 multiplayer weapons that are featured in the 2025 part of the campaign? How about the Cold War weapons in BO1 that you can use in the Zombies maps, that supposedly happen in the 1940's? Maybe in the end Treyarch just allows you to use whatever the weapons are from the game you're in, for gameplay reasons... I'm pretty sure BOI zombies takes place in the 60s, because of the time travel from Der Riese. That would make all of the weapons there fitting. The MotD future weapons can be attributed to the rift. However many people simply say that available weapons are non-canon. I personally am of the opinion that Green Run and nuketown take place during the 60s. We know with certainty that green run takes place after moon, so technically it could be any time from the 60s on. Now If the jump from Green Run to Die Rise involved time travel, we know Die Rise likely takes place from 2000-2025 or somewhere around there. Bearing in mind the possibility that Green Run could exist in about a 40 year span, we have two possibilities that occur to me. 1: Green Run takes place in the future, and no time "jumps" occur from GR to Die Rise. Or... 2: Green Run takes place in the 60s-80s, and the warp from GR to Die Rise also sends them through time, to Die Rise, which takes place in 2025. There is, however, the issue of Nuketown. It takes place shortly before the events of Green Run, so its time would also set the time for Green Run. So, what is its time? We know it takes place at the same time as Moon, setting it most likely in the 60s. Since Marlton is in both Nuketown and GR we can say GR is right after Nuketown. But then how could maxis have searched for many decades, but the transition from moon to Green Run is likely much shorter? The (possible) answer: maxis began "searching" as soon as he was betrayed at Gryphon station in the 40s. There are still loads of anachronisms to account for, like guns, the bus driver, etc. I've probably just confused myself further here, but of well. The damage is done.
  19. On the original firing range map there were several clues that led people to believe that a map would be based on firing range, called "Quarantine." so I definitely think they could revisit this idea. I haven't seen these, but I'll inspect them for further clues ASAP. However I don't know how fans would react to another reskinned zombies multiplayer map. I would like it, but it seems a little lazy.
  20. More like THIS. http://youtube.com/watch?v=hDlif8Km4S4 SEND IN THE DROP SQUAD!!
  21. I don't think my life will ever be the same after that. Bravo. I think the bridge is a little sloppy though. BK, did you tweet this page to Kevin? And no, it's Nikola Tesla's coke.
  22. I know prior to the release of MotD he tweeted something like "save a perk or revive a perk?" this seems to be implying that based on fan feedback they could choose to either save the perks wr're used to in black ops 2, or sacrifice one or more in exchange for an old one (presumably PhD.) Maybe it's linked to that? We mustn't rule out the possibility that you were hammered though.
  23. It also eliminates idle sway, which comes in handy when using sniper rifles for instance. It's good if you get trapped in a corner by one or two zombie's or get surprised when turning a corner, because it lets you aim right for the head and take them out and get them out of the way much more quickly. Now it almost always comes down to DD and electric cherry for the 4th perk. Both can be helpfu for getting you out of a tight squeeze, but it's really down to your gameplay style to determine which is best for you.
  24. Honestly it's probably just for laughs. Obviously there's no legitimate reason for why a spoon fork hybrid would be stronger than the other weapons. BUT THAT'S THE POINT! You'd never expect a damn spoon to be able to cut down zombie after zombie, but treyarch made it do that. Why? Because they can. And because it's hilarious. Fun fact: I actually predicted that we'd get an eating utensil as a melee weapon, because I thought it would be fitting to a Paris map.
