~New Boss~ Scariest Map? They Weren't Kidding!
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in Mob of the Dead
Floating, fiery, horned head? Honestly by now that wouldn't really surprise me. On a serious note, maybe the protrusions I thought were horns we're actually wings? If so it would actually make sense if it were a fiery bat, or even a fiery demon head. Sorta like the skull monsters in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. or the A7X logo. Edit: upon closer inspection... It DOES resemble a bat... But the way it remains stationary while chomping seems more like the kind of thing a land creature could do. Unless its a demon hummingbird. What I mean Is that it exhibits two large biting motions in the space of about 2 seconds. However as it is doing this, its distance from the player doesn't change, nor does it's elevation off the ground. Since the zombification of hellhounds doesn't change their physiology dramatically (essentially they are still dogs, just crazy and on fire) why would zombifying a bat change the way it moves so dramatically? Bats can NOT hover in the air by the way. Which this thing is clearly doing. Unless like someone said, it appears stationary because it is clawing out of a fixed portal? -
~New Boss~ Scariest Map? They Weren't Kidding!
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in Mob of the Dead
Possibly a Warden of the prison. He might be a boss along the lines of George Romero. However the shot that shows him run up and scream into the "camera" is very cinematic looking, so it might just be a clip from the opening cutscene. (this map is going to have an opening cutscene by the way.) Check this out. At first I thought it was a hellhound too, but look closely. This is NOT a hellhound. It looks like it has HORNS, and its face looks really... demonic. I am reminded of the weird dog demon things from Ghostbusters. I can't be sure of whether it not its coming out of a portal, or just on fire. BUT WAAAAIIT..... Red eyes? Demonic creatures spawning from fiery portals? Maybe Satan actually is in control! -
We asked, and treyarch delivered! Essentially the map Studio is just firing range 2025. It has the exact same layout as firing range had in black ops 1, but with new visual features and textures, and an overall new theme. Who else is pumped? Do you think in the future they might remaster other fan favorites, like summit?

Maybe it will send you to some psychedelic place which is supposed to be the aether? You can see random trippy nonsense like the vortex when teleporting, and it could contain some clues? Or maybe it just eliminates the possibility of spectating in order to make it harder on you and your team to communicate. Or MAYBE, it could just be some mini game type thing that occupies you, yet also influences gameplay for your team. For example, how well you do mashing a button or something affects the frequency of power ups until you return.

Ok people. Check out the exact time 2:58 in the trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdJONV3KvW0p In the back on the left you see... A big, flaming... Thingy. Its motion distinctly resembles a jaw opening motion. My first thought was hellhounds, but this thing looks as though it is suspended in mid air! You can clearly see that it has no legs. Looking closely, it DOES resemble a hellhound, but why would it be flying / hovering? We know hellhounds and zombies can come at the same time because of der riese and NML, but note that it is present alongside normal zombies. All I can say is that this thing is CREEPY. It Almost seems to suggest something demonic in nature. Ideas?

True, but since we've never seen zombies that aren't under control from the MPD, nothing says their eyes CAN'T glow without a controller. Just because they DO glow WITH a controller, doesn't mean they CAN'T glow WITHOUT a controller. Though honestly my first thought was that maxis gained control, which I believe firmly. WHERE WHERE WHERE?!?! I'm pretty sure I saw a mini Uzi at one point. When the dev introduced the second character.

Mob of the Dead Discussion/ Trailer Analysis
Electric Jesus replied to JMDogg's topic in Mob of the Dead
Woo finally! Thanks for posting! Ok, so, I'm sure you all noticed red-eyed zombies. As you know, this chNge only occurs when the soul controlling the MPD changes. My theory? Maxis is now in control. Like I said HERE, a third consecutive map with the N4 powering up the tower would be too redundant. It has simply been implied that it occurred. Finally right about something! Let me just... Bask in this moment... -
It's just a reflection off of his TV screen of his dog sleeping on his couch. it's on the little table thingy where the valve part spawns sometimes.
-
What exactly do you meanbu turning them into gas zombies? I've heard people mention this before, but I don't really get what it means. Do you mean turning them into the crawlers from kino and five? Because that seems very counter-productive to me...
-
I personally have never seen this, but my partner BK was playing due rise with me and he was shouting at the beginning of the match how everything was green. He restarted a few times and nothing changed. It stopped eventually but I have no clue what caused it. I remember this happening to me a handful of times in black ops 1 multiplayer, on the map summit.
-
Also although MMX is technically right, when developers were talking about all the upcoming features of the game prior to black ops 2's release (you know, where they first brought up 4z4 and the multiplayer engine) they described the new tranzit mode. They also said that it includes the "best wonder weapon to date." so maybe they were considering it a wonder weapon. Think of it this way. Maybe just because all of the WaW / BO1 wonder weapons included associations with 115 / 935 / Aether or whatever, doesn't mean a weapon can't be a wonderweapon unless it possesses these qualities. A wonderweapon from an objective viewpoint could just be any unconventional, unrealistic, extra powerful weapon. So as of now a wonder weapon by definition must include element 115 or whatever. However maybe the fact that the jet gun is NOT seen as a wonder weapon is due to a fault in the definition. :| I'm not saying I believe that. Just food for thought.
-
Hmm. I'm having the biggest déjà vu moment. Where have I *cough* heard this *cough*gersch*cough* before? Hmm. It's on the tip of my tongue... Oh forget it. Anyway... How about... A weapon along the lines of the jet gun, but based off of tesla's death ray? It is covered in solar panels and mirrors and what not. Holding down the trigger fires a continuous ray of light that fries zombies. However it has to cool down after a certain amount of continuous use. Edit: is it unclear whether the sliquifier is a wonder weapon or not? I've heard that its just a normal water gun with an unknown substance used instead of water. However I heard that it might be benzene? If so it wouldn't be a wonder weapon.
-
No no no! He isn't saying that it is the only unique one by its killing method (burning, shocking, etc.) What he means is that apart from the Raygun and Vr-11 (which are intentionally designed for different purposes than the others,) all the wonder weapons essentially kill loads of zombies quickly with a single shot. However the sliquifier isn't just BAM YOU'RE DEAD. It takes time and effort to use it correctly. Over-Powered wonderweapon is redundant. That's kinda the point. However a weapon should always be overpowered and also restrictive like the sliquifier. Lots of killing power, but requires lots of patience. Maybe a fire weapon at last? It could have enormous killing potential, but take a while to slow-roast the zombies. That way you need patience and skill to use it but it's still awesome. Also I have at least a dozen wonder weapon ideas posted on that thread. Check 'em out on pages 4 thru 5!
-
GUYS! Like 3 / 4 of this thread is completely off topic! You can talk about whether or not sliquifier is over-powered elsewhere. I doubt the ensuing debate was the type of response OP intended when he brought up a sneaky little trick used to get the sliquifier. Seriously, guys. You need to get your act together with the tangential arguments. PLEASE. STAY. ON. TOPIC. I personally am really good at using the sliquifier and would use this idea shamelessly, under the assumption that the other randoms aren't as good as me with it. However in general I like to collaborate with my team as I'm usually the one carrying them, and would never try to "pull a fast one." with my friends I've built jet guns and sliquifiers outside their supervision just 'cause. But in a game with randoms I wouldn't go this far. It's not exactly being a douche as someone said, since you have to take the Time to build it alone, but it is still kinda mean.

The Tunguska Event - A Map, Finally?
Electric Jesus replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Research & Development
Isn't the moon just a moon? We (the site) have been talking about tesla and his death ray like lunatics for at least a year or more now, though it's cool that you brought it to the table with its relevance here. Honestly around here if you were to refer to Nikola tesla as "this one guy," PINNAZ, Tac, Mix, Shooter, Flammen, and about a dozen other users would probably just explode. (no pun intended.) I'm just messing with you. -

Hey I'm pretty sure that supposed DLC thing you mentioned is actually a leak. (a thread on that subject was removed.) so you should edit that part out. -
The Tunguska Event - A Map, Finally?
Electric Jesus replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Research & Development
I think it is a good idea considering we've been to other places that hold historical significance. However I would like to point out that none of the other historical events we've visited have been so directly influential to the game's progression as the Tunguska event. It certainly would be a great leap to make as far as story relevance goes. That doesn't necessarily mean it won't happen; I'm just pointing that out. Also, something looks different about you... Did you get a haircut or something? -
~EJ's Pro-Tips~ Need Some Advice?
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in General Zombies Discussion
What you are gonna want to do is get everyone on your team to buy a Bowie knife by round 5-6, or earlier if you manage it. Knife only for the first 2 rounds. Kill the first zombie of round 3 with 2 knives then 2 headshots. This will give you a power-up every time. Then use your ammo on the zombies to maximize points. Leave towards the box on round 4. Each use the box as few times as it takes to get a decent weapon. And by decent, I mean a CZ75 will do. Try only using the box once. Or you can buy an automatic off the wall if you are confident enough in your ability to use it effectively. Anyway use those weapons to hold off until you each have almost 4000 points. Buy through to the power and get Bowie knives. If you stay together and use the Bowie knives you will be at a minimum risk of downing, and will pull in points like crazy at 130 per kill. Do this until you can all afford jugg. You should all have it easily by round 8 or probably before. If uou continue using them after that until they are no longer one hit kills you should have enough for several box spins each, which will likely get you off to a great start. then you can just use whatever long term strategy you want. -
I do really like your original ideas for each perk, but to be honest I've heard this pro perk idea a lot. It's sorta a cliche thread to be honest. like "new perk ideas" threads. I've definitely herd the exact phrase "Perk-a-Punch" or "pack-a-perk" already. I do like the idea of Choosing which machine to build. That way it's like multiplayer. Perks enhance players, and attachments enhance guns.

~EJ's Pro-Tips~ Need Some Advice?
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I believe I know the brother in question. What you do in early rounds is most important to get a good game going. For a beginner i'd say that by round 6 he should have jug, a built trample steam, and galvaknuckles. He can train wherever, but as long as he uses the trample steam on boss rounds he will get free perks easily. On round 3 ride the quick revive elevator (which always has power) up and down until the trample steam is built. Then jump down to the area below (with the hole on the ground) and hold off with a PDW until the boss round. (by now you should have at least 10,000 points.) Once you complete the boss round drop down the shaft and buy knuckles. Then rush through to the power and buy jug ASAP. From here you can head wherever you want. You don't need to train because the knuckles are still a one hit kill until roughly round 13. Before that time comes (rounds 7-12) you can go to the box or build a sliquifier or whatever. That is a good consistent strategy I use to get off to a great start. -

I usually leave a crawler or two. They don't die unless you spend more than 15 seconds or so on the top floor. You just need to know where the pieces are and hurry up! -

Now I'm just using this thread to help other people out on an as-needed basis. However if you have a bit of advice relating to something people ask about a lot feel free to give me a tip and I'll add it to the OP. -
~EJ's Pro-Tips~ Need Some Advice?
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in General Zombies Discussion
For the revival person? Their primary should NOT be the sliquifier. Any powerful enough weapon will do just fine. This could be a Galil or an LMG for example. A raygun works too. Think of it this way. There are zombie's between you and the person you need to revive. You do NOT need to kill them all. All you need is to get a few out of your way to give you time to swoop in with the Krauss. For perks, obviously Juggernog. Don't bother with quick revive because the Krauss does that anyway. Who's Who because they usually train alone. Then double-tap 2. Even if you're not using a bullet based primary (raygun) it helps you kill faster. Like I said you need to put yourself in a position where you can kill a single (or possibly a few) zombies as quickly as possible. And as your last speed cola is the best. -

You're going to want your revival guy in the trample steam room training. Ideally he would be your best player because he needs to stand alone. Then have all 3 others in the area below. You know, where you sprint off and land on the mats. one trains in the first area, another below him through the collapsed floor, and the last in the mystery box room. Those 3 can revive eachother while the first guy survives on his own. Then if all 3 of the main group go down he can jump down and use the Krauss. This helps a lot because if he doesn't have time to trample steam up to the guy in the box room he can shoot him. Edit: or your revival guy could be on the roof near the dragon, then 1 guy near trample steam and 2 down below. That way if the revival guy goes down the guy in the trample steam room can fling over and get him, but he still has access to everyone else.
