How many points could you get on round 1?
Electric Jesus replied to TBGxRyan's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Reviving a teammate siphons 5% of their points I think (might not be exactly 5) so theoretically you could get a team of three to down themselves repeatedly and have the 4th guy keep reviving them, then that guy could slowly reach that number without even any kills! -
I doubt Antarctica because of the triangle. That would form an equiangular / equilateral triangle. Maxis specifically states that he needs a trichotomous obtuse scalene triangle. Interestingly enough that puts the location for the next map anywhere from east of USA, west of china, north of Antarctica. Interestingly enough this leaves us with possible locations in Europe, South America, Africa, and even the Atlantic ocean (which makes up like 50% of the possible area for the 3rd spire.) *cough* Atlantis *cough* 'scuse me. Just getting used to the Aether.
-
They could just be random generic suburban people from the surrounding area. It's kinda like the auschwitz idea, how instead of fighting unread holocaust victims it's just random undead civilians from the surrounding area.

Honestly I know treyarch say they have meaning behind everything, but when it comes to the other characters being able to hear the drops, that is likely for a sort of obvious reason. Gameplay. obviously they want all of the PLAYERS to know what drop they got, which gives them a reason to allow all the players to hear his voice. Otherwise Sam's player would have to tell everyone what drop he got, and that would just be stupid. For the actual storyline you could simply say that richtofen wants to give the characters a little bit of a break and make his game of toying with them more enjoyable giving them a fighting chance. Verrückt's point is the main flaw in this idea. Plus as y'all said the flesh is likely the reason he can hear Richtofen. However, What about the flesh makes him able to hear richtofen? We know the zombie's can hear him because they do his bidding. As Crazy Train said it might make him ever so slightly 115-ified, granting contact (albeit minuscule) with the aether, which is the "dimension" from which richtofen operates.

I've always loved the idea of a school map and I think this is a really cool idea. I came up with 4 archetypal high school students to play as too. There's the stuck up hipster girl, the jock guy, the nerd guy, and the emo girl. the pack a punch idea you made is freaking awesome. It is like the call of the dead lighthouse but it makes sense logically rather than magic lightning bolts. :D

Honestly this seems more tedious than just taking four trips down the elevator. I suppose I'll just have to try it. Thanks for pointing out anyway. By the way your username. So much yes.

I came up with this idea after posting in the asylum. Anyway, first I'd like to address the actual voice itself. One bit of confusion people seem to be encountering is that they believe the "Demon Voice" Samuel hears us some unknown entity. However it is actually just Richtofen. Listen to the last thing it says in the opening scene. If you listen hard it says "accept your fate; begin anew!" which is what richtofen says immediately afterwards. It seems he is just repeating himself in a different voice. Now, why does he change his voice? We know Samuel is the only one who hears the demon voice. Perhaps the answer is more obvious than we thought. He is simply throwing his voice beyond Misty, Russman, and Marlton's range of hearing. For whatever reason he chooses to address Samuel individually sometimes, in which case he uses a voice beyond the others' perception. Now this still leaves us with two big questions: Why does richtofen choose to target Samuel specifically? What makes Samuel's range of hearing greater than normal? That is what I want to discuss here.
-
This monster voice you keep talking about is actually just richtofen. Listen to its very last statement in the opening sequence. It is actually saying "accept your fate; begin anew!" it's hard to tell but trust me. That is also the exact quote richtofen then says next. It seems to me the demon voice is just the voice he uses to talk to Samuel. Maybe it's outside of everyone else's range of hearing for some reason. But he switches to a normal human voice at the end when addressing everyone.

Yeah this has been brought up a lot. Maxis needs to form a trichotomous obtuse scalene triangle, so there are 3 towers with each tower being a vertex. So only one more tower. There's actually a future DLC section here you know. Might wanna check it out. This would fit better there.

I don't mean in moon, I mean in the black ops 2 maps. I already addressed that. I mean that the death music in black ops 2 doesn't correspond to the next map, like It did in the past.
-
Ever since the beginning, the instrumentals that play on the game over screen on each map is a clip from the Easter egg song on the next map. For example when you die on Kino, a piece of instrumental plays from "Abracadavre", the ascension Easter egg song. When you die on Nacht der Untoten the intro to "Lullaby of a Deadman", the Verrückt Easter egg song plays. Oh yeah, there is one exception. Moon has no music on the death screen, but that is likely because they simply hadn't written the song for green run yet because it was in the transition to BOII. But that's not what I'm concerned about here. Well the instrumentals that play when you die on green run aren't heard in Die Rise / Great Leap Forward, are they? Take a listen. https://youtube.com/watch?v=YzJmx5PKXZ4 Also is there even music at the end of Die Rise / GLF? It just sounds like someone locking a gate. So are they abandoning this idea, or could it possibly have deeper meaning?

Guns: Best Wall Gun To PAP
Electric Jesus replied to MehSparky's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I forgot Mustang and Sally!! Not exactly a "wall" gun, but still possibly my favorite guns ever. Definitely a must for me, nearly every game. I can just roll with a PDW and a (semi-useless) M1911 and rack up points until I can pack a punch both of them. Usually only takes a few rounds. Then I wait until I get mule kick from the little beasties and grab a sliquifier to complete my personal ideal class: M+S, PDW, Sliquifier. I assumed we were talking about black ops 2 only, but since lenne said T+R I'll retort. Tokyo and Rose had beastly power and their only real drawback was the lack of accuracy since you had to hip fire with them, and this increases the possibility of missing and makes the need to fire at point blank greater, which is a big no-no. Otherwise they were great. I still preferred the afterburner (upgraded MP40) or Skullcrusher (upgraded M16) because hip firing / dual wield almost completely eliminates the possibility of going for headshots. -
Guns: Best Wall Gun To PAP
Electric Jesus replied to MehSparky's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I would say... Probably the M16 (or the Colt M16A1), or the PDW, or maybe the AN-94. All of these are good for similar reasons: great power, fire rate, accuracy, ammo count, and all the normal things you'd expect. However the main things that set this above the SVU for example are... Availability: the M16 is right next to one of the best possible training spots on the map. You know, that room with the collapsed floor near the mystery box? Yeah. You can just leap up and grab ammo with a strafe jump or a trample steam and grab an ammo refill. Awesome. The PDW is slightly less available, because regardless of your location it requires riding an elevator, but it's near the mystery box ramp, allowing you to slide back to your training spot quickly. The AN-94 is also right next to the Buddha room, again allowing you to flung up and grab a nice ammo refill as you please. Points: sure, you might be able to pierce 3 heads with a single SVU shot (scoring 100 points per kill max) but with an automatic you'll be pumping in loads of ammo, easily cranking out an average of hundreds of points per kill. Chou might think that this wastes ammo, but with double tap you can still go for about 2-3 shots to a headshot kill on mid-high rounds. You'll have about the same Max killing potential as the SVU based on damage and ammo count but with exponentially greater point gain. Stopping Power: if you're backed into a corner, good luck blasting out with a bolt action rifle. You need to go for a long powerful headshot burst. Here rate of fire is your best friend. The AN, M16, and PDW are great choices here. Which of these you choose is generally based on your training or camping location (pick the nearest one) but you can choose whichever you like. I personally prefer the PDW just because it's my primary in multiplayer and I really know the feel of it. However if you're more of an assault rifle guy go for it. Also I'm not entirely biased here. If (unlike me) you happen to be a 1337 SN1P3R, I think the SVU is actually a pretty good choice. However in general I think automatics are just better for the average player. -
I see where you're coming from but I kinda disagree. Here's why. This is a community of good zombie players. However, think about it. One out of how many games with randoms make it past round 30? One out of every hundred? Less? Like I said, we personally could do this on our own, but the majority of players can't even make it TO round 30, let alone way into high rounds. However, with die rise for instance, the first 20 rounds or so (which are the rounds in which you establish your long-term strategy) are much harder. I think that is undeniable. So for all intents and purposes, it IS harder. However once you make it past that part of the game to the part where you are actually performing your train / camp, it flatlines. But like I said, only 1% of the community or less can actually reach that period routinely. If you were to increase the zombies cap to 48, that would greatly increase the difficulty of camping. Perhaps too much so. Think of your favorite camping strategy. Now think of your camping strategy with double the zombie's. You might not realize how great of a leap that is. The same goes for training. Imagine your horde of 24 zombies. It takes up most if the room, the biggest room in the map, doesn't it? Double it. You almost literally COULDN'T use this strategy if there is no room big enough to permit a decent train and have enough space for it. With both of these strategies so greatly affected by this change, Even for the 1% who are actually skilled it would be TOO hard. Plus the early rounds would be devastatingly difficult. Especially for the 99%. When you're scrambling through the map to get to the box or a perk or something with your wall guns and your minimal perks, imagine taking on double the zombie's, before you've even established your above strategy. So yeah. I don't agree. Maybe on a map that is designed to have this capacity it would be good, but as of now it's a big no-no.

Zombie's in SSSSPPPPPAAAAACCCCCEEEEEEEEE!
Electric Jesus replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in Zombie Labs
I like. It makes sense story wise too. Perhaps our 3 spires are going to fire a big ol' death star laser at the moon. And that would be exciting. Because lasers are VERY exciting. It would be a major déjà vu moment. Where else have we destroyed a significant celestial body from a great distance in space? -
Harrassment when playing as Misty
Electric Jesus replied to ETEl2NAL407's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yeah well... Undead? I'm trying to be logical and objective so sorry if I come off as anything but. Like I said there have always been threads for complaining about randoms, and how people are rude on mics, and how people camp and noob tube and blah blah blah. The threads aren't working towards a massive community-wide revolution, eliminating that particular issue from the face of the earth. They don't really achieve anything to be honest. It's just for us coming together as a community, united against a common enemy: N3WBZ. (again I'm being objective and dead serious) if you think that is a bad thing, I'd have no hard feelings if you locked such a thread up (this one for example.) however wouldn't it be hypocritical to lock this and none of the others, like this one, which I happened to stumble across while typing this: viewtopic.php?f=117&t=29433 Shouts to that thread's author, but anyway my point is that discussing the fact that people can be immature jerks on CoD doesn't necessarily need to directly accomplish anything in order to be productive. It creates awareness, for instance. I kinda got sidetracked, and went on one of my signature pointless rants. *pats self on back* "you dun good EJ." That's all I have to say about that. -
This started as an idea that I tossed out in passing, but the more I think about it the more it seems to make sense. Anyway, this would most likely pertain to the 3rd or 4th DLC, as the third and final spire will most likely be completed in the next one. Firstly, I'm adopting the name of this thread from Portal, so read up if you don't get it. The name is REALLY important for the theory. Let's consider this possibility: maxis is powering up spires in order to generate enough energy (like richtofen did with the Vril device) to perform a MPD soul-swap. As you know this required the power of over one hundred souls and several unique artifacts, which explains the huge extent to which maxis is working to match this power. It seems so me that his goal is to remove richtofen from power and replace him with another, in order to restore done degree of order to the world. But let's think back to moon. Richtofen gathered souls from the surrounding area. However, the three spires seem to be generating this energy remotely, like radio towers, and for the same purpose. Instead of replacing the Vril device (a completely unique device) maxis uses the towers to generate the necessary energy instead. Now let's think again about moon. Pretend like the MPD is all nice and powered up. What now? Maxis can't just zap richtofen out of control. He needs to be MANUALLY EJECTED, like Edward did to Samantha. Now, who do we have readily available, on the moon, ready to eject and replace Edward? Go on, guess. the original four are our stalemate associates! This ties in several things that are rumored / speculated to make a return, such as the map moon itself and the original crew. The shortest path from point A to point B is a straight line through an MTD by thinking with portals.

Harrassment when playing as Misty
Electric Jesus replied to ETEl2NAL407's topic in General Zombies Discussion
The tridalo guy is the one I was referring to... Yeah I know! it did get a bit confusing when his comment was removed. Anyway think of it all this way. I've seen countless threads about people being rude over mics, teabagging, and yes, violating misty... And countless other immature acts. This is nothing more. Treat it as such. -
One rule I personally never break is to only go to the box from the side without the slide. A well times dive or simply a trample steam can get you over that seemingly unreachable ledge. In the spawn area past the first but able door you can drop down a series of ledges in order to make it to the ledge I mention above, granting the ability to potentially use the box on the first round. I'm not saying this is exactly what you should do, but definitely take the time to learn how to make those jumps, as it saves you from needing to buy like 3 doors. they are found at the top of the escalator in the room just past the spawn.

Harrassment when playing as Misty
Electric Jesus replied to ETEl2NAL407's topic in General Zombies Discussion
The key word is mature. There's a lot of players that can't reach that "mature" word. Even if they are physically mature, many are not mentally... Edit: Literally every time this guy (tridalo) has posted about misty he has called her a dirty skank or something to that effect. If he's going to do it again and again after numerous warnings... Well, just be a good citizen and report any non-law abiding citizens. -
Sorry, all of my friends call that room the china room for some reason. It is past the AN-94 down the elevator shaft, and it has a teddy bear, red columns, upside down statues, and that broken stone column thing that sticks out, and you can jump off of it into the floor with the power switch.
-
My idea is that the power from the 3 spires (yes I feel sure there are 3, and they form an obtuse scalene triangle) will be used to put another back in control of the zombies in the multidimensional pyramid device. However they would still need to manually eject richtofen and insert another. Have you ever played portal 2? Think of it like a stalemate associate. And just who might be our stalemate associates? Let's think. Who is readily available for us on the moon? That is what I think is going to happen.
-
If it is in the middle of the room how could it send you off the edge??? This has happened to me many times in the china room. Our team plopped down 4 trample steams and were basically running in circles around them. The train artist in me tried to do a cutback and jump over one but some fool ran into me and I bumped the trample steam and was sent plummeting to my death. Another rule: don't isolate yourself! I know you can't all train in the same room, but if you are in a separate building and you go down everyone is screwed. at least take necessary precautions before going off alone, like buying who's who.

It shouldn't be like they are completely invisible, and it should only last for a minute or two. It should be like so that you don't see them at first glance, giving them the upper hand in a firefight, not like total uber ninja mode. That would be too cheap. Otherwise you could just camp and... Yeah it would just suck. Plus you would be able to get big scorestreaks easily by just camping and creeping in the shadows and such. Maybe 50 points per kill while active too? I'm not trying to hijack your idea (no pun intended) I just think it is an awesome idea that DESERVES some help, not just needs it. ;)
