Petition To get Ranking System Info from Treyarch.
Electric Jesus replied to Jeager1999's topic in TranZit
i agree, kinda. kinda because the game has now been out almost a month, and literally no headway has been made on "discovering" how this abstract ranking system works. And who's fault is that? People who have just given and are now so dedicated to this surrender that they have made/are signing petition for Treyarch to do our job for us. The idea of the rank is to reflect our level of skill (obviously.) however we have no clue what the formula is, or any specifics. Take this example. I doubt this is it, but of it was based on a kill / down ratio, how many kills to deaths earns you the next rank? 100? 200? More? There is no way of telling except by manually testing. But what if it ISN'T based on that ratio? There are a nearly infinite number of formulas possible based on combinations of stats. Can we conceivably try every combination, even as an entire community? So treyarch offering literally NO information on it whatsoever, and you trying to justify them doing it, is like telling us to bang on our keyboards randomly and hope one of us might eventually produce the entire works of Shakespeare. we have no heading and an infinite number of possibilities. No, it is NOT like an Easter egg. We have no hints or indicators of what ranks us up, whereas in an Easter egg there are hints like voices, or glowing orbs. What the hell does this even mean? Oh cool, a knife! I ranked up! But how? WE DON'T KNOW. I think you fully understand our argument, and the fact that anyone can still insist on fighting it is mind-blowing. As has been said, this is just too damn excessive! We know in MP to get kills to rank up. There is no indicator whatsoever what we need to do to rank up here. Even in a game shrouded in mystery, why keep it a secret how to use a new feature? As I said it is not an Easter egg we are talking about, but something we are supposed to have available to us as an extra indicator of our skill level. This is nothing like discovering the storyline. Just because both are left up to us to discover doesn't make them the same. We have radios and such that deliver straight forward info. Now we have some pretty pictures and tallies, as I said we haven't seen this system before and have no heading for beginning to find the exact formula. So basically they handed a caveman an iPhone and assumed he would be able to figure it out. How is a caveman supposed to know? He didn't design it, nor has he seen anything like it before. Would you be surprised if he broke it? Even in a game of mystery, it has never been a case of monkeys at a typewriter, as it is now. I'm just rambling at this point. You get what I mean. I am not mad at treyarch at all, but I want an explanation to a certain degree. I mean, you at least understand our point, right? We aren't crazy here? Well, either way... SIGNED AND SIGNED. -
AHA!! It's my old research files! I wonder what I may have been studying... *dusts off* OH MY! The mystery box cult! I nearly forgot! I must plan an expedition at ONCE! I must pack my pistol, two grenades, some nice boots... THAT'S IT!! I am ready to take to the streets and hitch a ride to Hanford to check out the settlement of cultists who have inhabited the area. I will update my research files accordingly as soon as I return! Farewell my fellow slayers, I will return shortly! (expect tranzit-style updates this week!)

I literally explained what tainting is in this thread halfway down the first page. ............................................________ ....................................,.-‘”...................``~., .............................,.-”...................................“-., .........................,/...............................................”:, .....................,?......................................................\, .................../...........................................................,} ................./......................................................,:`^`..} .............../...................................................,:”........./ ..............?.....__.........................................:`.........../ ............./__.(.....“~-,_..............................,:`........../ .........../(_....”~,_........“~,_....................,:`........_/ ..........{.._$;_......”=,_.......“-,_.......,.-~-,},.~”;/....} ...........((.....*~_.......”=-._......“;,,./`..../”............../ ...,,,___.\`~,......“~.,....................`.....}............../ ............(....`=-,,.......`........................(......;_,,-” ............/.`~,......`-...............................\....../\ .............\`~.*-,.....................................|,./.....\,__ ,,_..........}.>-._\...................................|..............`=~-, .....`=~-,_\_......`\,.................................\ ...................`=~-,,.\,...............................\ ................................`:,,...........................`\..............__ .....................................`=-,...................,%`>--==`` ........................................_\..........._,-%.......`\ ..................................., I'm just joking! I find it wierd that they chose to call it tainting. Everything else had such a non-literal, creative meaning, whereas this is straight forward. They should have called it... Oh, I don't know, how about... B.O. Aka biohazardous odor? Or anything else. I can't think of any more now. Any ideas people? I'm just bored and looking for something to get people thinking creatively,

Possible New Maps and General Map wishes
Electric Jesus replied to Glowck's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I know this isn't confirmed but... There is a stack of magazines in the bus depot. In order from top to bottom they are a picture of a bus, a boat, a train, and a plane. Some people think our "tranZportation" method in the next map will be a boat, then a train, and so on. Then maybe the last would be MDTs. I think this would be cool, but honestly I'm kinda milking the idea of a double-decker bus in Paris. Still that would be pretty nice. -
Well think of it this way. Pull out 6000+ points from the bank once you locate the roof hatch part. Grab the galvaknuckles and perform this glitch. Buy some perks. Now it is round one and you have the fastest melee possible available as a one hit kill until nearly round 15. I may look into this a bit. This looks promising.

Oh just you wait. I am sure you will have your hunger for teammates satisfied shortly after dec 25. Not everyone (even legitimate fans) buy games on release day. Some wait until special occasions of you know what I mean. The number of people visibly online will skyrocket in a months time.

I made up my own elaborate train to use in town, which I use pretty much every game. However I have been experimenting with the tunnel, as I really like the skull crusher strategy. I usually run at the diner in early rounds (before 10) but after that I generally stay exclusively in the areas I described above.

There is a new power-up drop exclusive to grief. It is basically a hunk of raw meat. When you gran it it replaces your gin and you can't shoot until you get rid of it. If you throw it somewhere (it has a perfectly straight trajectory) it leaves a green cloud of vapor behind which acts like a monkey bomb. All the zombies will go to it. If uou throw it at a person on the other team the cloud stays around them and all the zombies target them. This is great for trolling the other team as it allows you to steal their points while they are completely swarmed. Taints are the number of times you use the meat on an actual person.

Which Weapons Are Better Than Others
Electric Jesus replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yeah, I actually meant type 25. I just confused them. You know, because of how similar their names are? derp. -
Hmm. Maybe I tried to put the M1911 in the fridge and couldn't, then just assumed that I also couldn't put it's upgraded variant in. This makes more sense. Plus, as you very well know, when you make an assumption, it makes an ass out of you... And... Umption?

Which Weapons Are Better Than Others
Electric Jesus replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in General Zombies Discussion
In the wunderful thread I mentioned which ones I liked ans disliked. I said that the wave gun was cool but overpowered since it is essentially a thundergun with extended range, and dual wield infinite damage rayguns, all in one slot. You then mentioned that the fractalizer has over 100 more potential kills based in ammo count. Yup yup yup! Also, if the clapping gif I posted earlier didn't show it enough, I think this is an awesome thread, and good enough in general that any Player can peek at it for good advice unless they have a very specific issue with it based on their style. For example as i said above the SMR has a higher kill potential than an MTAR but i would take the latter any time. Take that into account before criticizing him on something that is dependent on the way YOU choose to play the game. I made that mistake above and it was rectified, and I am glad of it. Well done MMX. -
I thought you couldn't put mustang and Sally in it! THE REFRIGERATOR IS A LIAR!! I usually put in an LMG or a skull crusher, depending in which strategy I plan on using that game.

Which Weapons Are Better Than Others
Electric Jesus replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Can't argue with that. I personally would still rather have an MTAR than an SMR, but that is personal preference. We should look at this like the comparison of the wave gun and the fractalizer. The fractalizer has a higher kill potential than the wave gun + zap guns upgraded, but most still prefer it over the fractalizer because it is more practical in that it kills them for you instead of making you rush through them to kill. That is how I feel about the SMR. It may have a better kill potential based on ammo count but I still prefer the other option. Just to give you an idea. Also the bit I quoted you on reminds me that I live only about a mile from the woman who won the lottery. Grumble... -
Was the Avogadro in the shelter with Marlton?
Electric Jesus replied to TubbiPack's topic in TranZit
Just realized something. Firstly this may be completely wrong, but when ate we ever certain here? We acknowledged earlier that he isn't technically alive based on the criteria that defines living organisms, but he is capable of conscious thought, or is seemingly so. what If he truly never was a human and is a piece of artificial intelligence? Not exactly a robot, but very similar. Scientists could have created an elaborate humanoid framework from tesla coils and used robotics technology combined to create what appears to be a glowing framework electric robot. Hmm? This doesn't exactly explain everything, (flying, spawn / death animations, etc.) but just his appearance. Just thought I'd throw that out there. -

Would you rather gave 100 pennies or 50 nickels? Just because there is more of something doesn't make up for the fact that the thing itself is worth less. I am voting SMR off the island. -

Electric Jesus replied to TubbiPack's topic in TranZit
He is almost exactly like the character Tabuu from smash bros. brawl. He looks and moves very similarly to the Avogadro. Hold on, lemme post a link to a video. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LuLNtvRJHuY Just watch the first 10 seconds of this video. See how they are in the same position and they warp around like Avogadro? I doubt this is any very significant connection, but I still felt like pointing it out. Also OP should change the title of this thread since the topic changed direction a bit. -

Electric Jesus replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Fixed that for you,EJ. You are welcome. D'aawwwwww, look at you! Using your powers for good? Thanks bro. Tee hee hee! Also I have invented my own original train strategy for tranzit (I might post it; it's really good) but it absolutely requires an LMG simply because of their magazine size. A Galil just wouldn't cut it. So I still rank them above the Galil. That's just me. -

This is just beautiful. I agree with pretty much everything on this list, with the exception of the LSAT since I'm not getting NTZ until it is available from the season pass. One minor thing I disagree on is that you failed to mention the effectiveness of the upgraded war machine. It is amazingly good for clearing out whole trains on mid-highish rounds. But still, well done. Keep up threads like this and maybe you'll be the one wearing the cyan crown come 2013. Edit: moment of silence? Ain't nobody got time for that. -

Was the Avogadro in the shelter with Marlton?
Electric Jesus replied to TubbiPack's topic in TranZit
One does not simply make something out of nothing! We are talking about a being with complete self-consciousness and consciousness of his surroundings. He cannot be classified as living since he doesn't seem to reproduce or be made of cells, nor does he die. However, there is no way that thing just appeared for no reason. Spontaneous generation was debunked, oh I don't know, centuries ago? IMO he has to have been created from a human test subject. Also the fact that it takes on a humanoid form suggests that it was at one point human. I mean, if it really wanted to it could be shaped like whatever it wanted to, right? Then why would it look like a human? To try to blend in? Shyeah, right. Because that was its original form, the form it is most familiar with. And THAT inplies that it has a workibg memory as well. I think the Avogadro was DEFINITELY a human originally. I don't know what the hell kind of failed experiment could turn you into self-conscious lightning, but what other legitimate explanation is there? Zombies, crawlers, hellhounds, denziens, are all failed experiments. Why shouldn't he be one as well? Naturally this would be involved in haarp, since he controls weather. Maybe he was created as a means to control weather, but they also employed him to power their facility? The fact that he escapes upon powering the facility further implies that if he was put to this task, he ended up as a failed experiment indeed. [/ramblinglunaticmode] -
Maybe it simply means "killing zombies makes them cross over into the aether to power me." that much is obvious, but whether the sign is referring to that or something else we don't know.
-
It looks to me like it means Day, cross over to me. Don't know what that means. Cross over to aether? What does day mean here?

There seems to be a bit more variety in general. Sweet camos, loads of attachments, etc. there used to be 3 main sights: red dot, ACOG, and holo. Now they all have different special effects and are aesthetically very different. We now have over 20 available killstreaks, loads of which are new or innovated cleverly. There are over twice as many lethal and tactical grenades. The wild cards themselves offer the ability to abandon whatever you want and pick up the slack elsewhere. This variety And FREEDOM makes it possibly my favorite MP yet.

Incorporating buildables! Think about it. Drop an electric trap on a staircase, similarly to how you would use a Betty or claymore in multiplayer. The enemy runs up the stairs with a horde hot on their heels, and they get the b'jeezus zapped out of them and get slowed, blinded, and screwed over. Set up your turret to shoot at players, providing some full-auto troll tastic stunning action. Set up your assault shield in order to block off a doorway, yielding a similar effect to the trap I described above. Use a turbine to create the effect of a tactical flare, inflicting a continuous EMP effect on every enemy player in its range. Naturally all of these could be destroyed, because otherwise it would just be a matter of who could block off juggernog first. How these could be incorporated? I'm not so sure yet. If you actually built them, each team could have parts to a certain thing, eliminating the possibility of either team getting it. If this was included I suspect it would be like a power-up. Just throwin' that our there.
