  1. One might argue that it's not cool to claim an area as yours, which is true enough. But still, regardless of the person's mindset, you never run through someone's train! I'm not saying it's that person's express property, but it's just common courtesy. It boils down to the classic notion that randoms have no courtesy or zombies etiquette. I would never go as far as to claim an area as my own, and would probably let someone take an area if they asked nicely. But if they just run through, you bet your ass they aren't getting their hands on my PP. Edit: I thought of a good analogy. So you're driving down the highway and someone in another lane tries to merge. So they put on their blinker and just start coming over. You're like woah woah buddy what are you doing? I wasn't ready for that! Just because you put your blinker on doesn't mean it's alright to just start coming into my lane! Well it's not MY lane, but I mean I was here! If you try to come over we might crash. I'd like to thank the academy.
  2. I like to think of traps with grief in mind. Hehe. I feel so evil. Idea #1. Parts: Tripod, satellite dish, battery, wires. Acts like a mounted paralyzer turret. Doesn't oscillate like a sentry turret. (Only faces one direction.) On players it acts like a guardian from multiplayer but without damaging. On zombies it acts like a paralyzer but kills more slowly. Idea #2. Parts: Cylindrical handle, Red Crystal, Batteries, Chip. Makes a mini lightsaber that resembles a dagger (but, you know, with an energy blade.) It breaks after 50 swings and you have to return to the parts' original locations to find new batteries to use it again. However it's a one hit kill until round 30 and doesn't occupy a weapon slot. (Replaces knife.) Idea #3. I'm not entirely sure what to say about this, but I really want a weapon whose effect changes based on how you build it. Imagine if there was only one staff on origins, and you swap out the heads to change it's element. Hmm. I wonder how it could be pulled off effectively. Maybe like this. Parts: generic gun part 1, generic gun part 2, generic gun part 3, Light crystal, Shadow crystal, Temporal crystal, Dimensional crystal. You build the gun, and depending on which of the crystals you use it has a different effect. You can only choose ONE! If you build it with the light crystal the gun shoots a ray of yellow white light to fry the zombies. Shadow crystal, they are hit by a wave of black and purple and disintegrate. Temporal crystal the zombies are hit by a ripple in space then age rapidly then turn into dust. The dimensional crystal makes them get pulled through a rift. After a certain amount of uses the gun breaks. Max Ammos don't affect it. You can rebuild it with a different crystal (or the same one) to try out new effects. Sorry about the long post. :D
  3. I really like that last idea. I think honestly we need to think with portals. If there were ever a portal mechanic in the game, it would be super OP if you could use it and zombies couldn't. So maybe zombies can only use it when following you through it. Still acts like a nice get-away and funnels zombies. Would also come in handy on spacious maps. This should be come the "new tactical ideas" thread (plural)
  4. Yeah I was also thinking of Ender Pearls. I personally love it, and think there's some serious trickshot potential there. Imagine someone going down at the bus depot while you're at the Diner. One good throw and they can be easily revived. It could also work like a Hookshot from Zelda. You shoot out a hook on a spring loaded chain and it drags you to whatever surface it locks on to. Or maybe like Farore's Wind. You drop it somewhere like a time bomb to set a warp location, and later you can activate it to warp to that location on command. Kinda like a time bomb but without turning back time. The only restriction is that it would likely be one time use.
  5. Today I leaned that an injured soldier was abandoned, propped against a tree with only a pistol and 8 bullets. He was found later still alive, with 8 dead enemy soldiers around him. That's a true soldier.

  8. Here's the thing. I like pretty much everything they've added in BOII. I'm not saying I PREFER buildables wonder weapons, but the novelty of it balanced out the inconvenience if it, and I still ended up liking it a lot. Some people would like it if we went back to only box WWs. I think that's a counter-intuitive idea. My suggestion is that we have the ENTIRE classic zombies feel there with some ADDITIONS, rather than modifications. Buildables are a good example of this. In BOIII, we should have a box wonder weapon AND a buildables one + other buildables. Some people like the classic feel so that should still be available to them in the new game unchanged. However the less conservative players should still be able to branch out. You know what I'm saying? I personally don't have a problem with this at all but a lot of people do. The way they changed things like Hiw to reach PaP and how to obtain wonder weapons could have been better in BOII.
  9. I must amend to my previous comment. I was trying to defend the box but I think I overstated my love of it. So let me put it this way. I might hit it once before I get jug just because I'm skilled enough to survive without jug for a while cooperatively. But in Grief (oh grief, my sweet child) I always get mustang and Sally. The randoms go down because they can't handle the versatility required from excessive box use. I am that versatile, but it doesn't matter when I know I'm going to get a powerful weapon at way. RELIANCE on the box is bad, but simply using it is fine. Likewise I've never lost a game of grief with randoms. I'm serious, check my profile. I'm 9 wins 0 losses. Thanks to those damn mystery box cultists. :D
  10. I wonder if master Tankeo is still among us using a different name.

It hasn't even been that long since he was last here actually. I do remember speaking to him when Die Rise hit, about We All Fall Down.

He liked it, and liked the direction Kevin and Clark were going.

Damn I miss him. He was an arse at the end, but I think that came with age. Him and my character in the Inception RP were going to hook up at some point.

Anyway, my money is on TAMB, but that seems way to obvious haha. I know his alt accounts were floofy and...

Ah it cuts off after a certain point.

Floofy and TripleX were his alts. But yeah, I hope he is doing well wherever he is.

  11. I think under some circumstances hitting the box first is fine. The issue isn't with hitting the box; the issue is with wasting points. For a player like me (and everyone else here) we know how to maximize points and can survive without jug in low rounds. The risk of getting a bad weapon from the box is still present, but we know how to accommodate. The reason randoms go down is because they are the opposite. They will hit the box once and have a war machine, no jug and no points. So sure as a general principle jug is more important. But if I'm camping on round ten with no jug and no weapon I'll sometimes take the risk and go for the box. Granted I can survive with almost any weapon you throw at me, but most randoms, sadly, aren't as versatile as we are here on CoDz. Besides its all about having fun! What's life without a little... Mystery? *badumptsss* I felt the need to defend the box there. It always gets a lot of hate. It's like everything else in the game. You don't hate the thing itself. It's actually really good. You hate people who misuse it.
  12. Well in the hardened edition of black ops 1 you got the WaW maps remastered. So it's a possibility. But if it's a map that is story-based (the characters physically revisit the location, not just the player) it won't be the first. Unless there are 2 zombies maps, like BOI. Tranzit had potential, and I still have fun playing it. Sure it's flawed and frustrating, but your ability to have fun in a map is based entirely on you. You critics would do well to remember that. Well it's a bit shaky because of the files being jumbled, but if they remastered tranzit I can see it being great. If Sam announcer quotes are there it could be pre-nukes, and there would be no lava, a lot less fog and a lot more... Stuff. Hopefully this gives them a chance to do the map justice.
  13. Well the PaP machine and the mystery box are Vril devices on Origins. They are from Agartha, so they might shimmer because they are out of their original dimension / realm. That's the reason why that happens on MotD. All the perk machines except electric cherry flicker because they don't belong there. They are from the main realm, which MotD is not a part of, like how origins is not a part of the Agarthan realm. Granted I'm not familiar with that quote, but I get the gist of it.
  14. My goal is to eventually meet a CoDz member in real life. As long as it isn't ThrowaMonkeyBomb.

  15. The thing about the thundergun is that sometimes if you point-blank a train, the one or two zombies that are closest to you survive. Like, WHAT? And naturally they get those few hits on you when you're reloading. Plus if you already took a few hits and fired the thundergun as a panic escape, those last hits after the blast are what kill you. It's like how one building is left standing at ground zero when a nuke goes off. Edit: so I didn't read through the subsequent conversation or the date before posting. This is embarrassing. XD
  16. Hmm. Interesting. Well my first reaction. I literally drifted through the next day and a half like an empty shell. I'm pretty sure I legitimately went into shock. I like MMX's partially cyclic omnipotent Sam theory. Essentially there is the Dieselpunk WWI timeline (origins) where Sam plays with dolls, and the "Normal" WWI timeline. They both exist, and are in a type of reciprocal cycle. (If I remember correctly. ) Personally I recall Vonderhaar (VONDERHAAR!!!!) saying in one of the trailers that it takes place in an "alternate" world war 1, and presents "one possible way" the story came to be. Now we all know zombies exists in an alternate universe (not our universe) but that's always been a given. So when he states that it is an alternate WWI, I think he's referring to the map in specific. I mean, the series has never been too historically accurate in regards to our timeline.so that suggests that it takes place in an alternate timeline (to me at least.) Additionally the second quote from our dear DSR nerfing pal says that it is "one possible way" the zombies story began. Now this doesn't say "this is the way the story began," but it is a possibility. To me this screams multiverse. So what I'm thinking is that there are infinite different zombies universes, and all are equally real. This is how one universe began, so within that universe it's Canon. Outside of that universe it is real but not necessarily canon. But what I'm most concerned with is the main universe, which encompasses the other maps. The way that universe ended or began remains to be seen. That's my spin on that. So sure it's real, but not necessarily canon to the main universe / timeline. The dumbest theory? No offense, but the people who just give up and say "we were always dolls from the beginning." That's not necessarily a bad theory (in terms of evidence and logic) but come on. I guess I think it's stupid because I don't WANT it to be true. I love scotch.
  17. So I can't hear out of my right ear for the past 3 days, but I just found a can of vanilla coke in my fridge which I though I drank already, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

EJ, i would go to a pharmacy and buy an ear wax cleaning kit. I've had that problem twice in my life, and each time it was ear wax blocking the passage to my ear drum. once it was clean, I could hear soooo much better

  18. Hail the mighty thread necromancer.
  19. But what it comes down to is this: Do I let them die and lose their stuff, or do I get them and risk getting trapped and lose the entire game? Whether or not you go for the revive depends on your chances of getting them and surviving yourself. If the odds aren't good you don't take the risk. This thread is about all the spots where the odds are not in your favor. Just sayin.
  20. That's the thing about randoms. As weird as the hoaxes they spew out are, they always say they've done it before. Half of them are just trolling, the other half just fooled themselves into believing it, and none of them are worth my time.
  21. I'm so sick. I need to pay a visit to Saint illness hospital. Or just stay on CoDz all day.

  22. I'm glad you said this. That's what this thread is about, not taking credit for stuff. One idea I had was that we'd get a wonder weapon with no ammo and a cool down time instead. My idea was more similar to the Paralyzer than the Jet Gun (which isn't actually a wonder weapon anyway.) the idea was essentially the same as the paralyzer, but stylized differently. It would have been covered in mirrors and fried zombies with a beam of light, paying homage to Tesla's death ray.

  24. I feel like this is more than likely a glitch. It isn't like treyarch to make something attainable by killing yourself and respawning. Besides, funky spawning has always brought about some famous glitches. I'd try and avoid doing this, for the sake of integrity.
  25. Every so often when a new map comes out, I hear people say "hey, that was my idea! I made that idea months ago on the forums and now treyarch is using it!" Or alternatively, you might have just predicted a plot element correctly. These are the moments that fill us with pride and remind us that treyarch take feedback from the community, specifically CoDz. So tell me, what ideas have YOU contributed to the game? I feel like this might end up bringing back some awesome theories and posts from our senior members. Still even fresh faces have good ideas! In fact, try to copy/paste your old post if you can. I personally think I contributed to the Ghosts / Witches in Buried. (Lol sorry.) here's the original post, made during the off-season between black ops 1 and 2. Note: I don't mean treyarch are plagiarizing our ideas. By posting them to the public you are making them available for use. Don't post asking for a paycheck from treyarch please. Thanks. :)
