  2. You should also note that it is the only robot that seems to consciously attempt to step on the players. The others just stroll through, but this one actually looked down at the players before deliberately stepping on them. I think that at the moment it first steps, the crew inside is alive, enabling finer motor skills. Maybe the crew fled the battlefield in the robot, which would suggest that it is a 5th robot. Or possibly it is just one of the other robots, and the crew eject themselves, returning the robot to autopilot. But hang on, you can see the dead crew inside each of the 3 robots. So the crew couldn't have manually ejected. But how could they have died if the robots weren't under attack at that time? I think the former idea is most likely: they nope'd outta there when the zombies showed up, and tried to step on the players on the way out. Of course even that is a bit complex of an explanation, but it is still suspicious that this is the only robot that seems aware of the player's presence.

  4. Pretty much any generator station is open enough for training. I suggest you avoid generators 1, 2, and 6, because they are out of the way and generally more cramped than other areas of the map. However, every generator is near where the robot steps. This can be hazardous for 2 reasons. Firstly if you mess up and have to make a cut-back too far out of your normal path you might get stepped on or sandwiched against the foot. Secondly the shockwave from the robot stepping can knock zombies over, which will throw your train out of whack. You need to focus more on avoiding zombies than killing them. Keep moving, and the zombies behind you won't be an issue. Juke around zombies using basic train methods. Jump through mud and don't look back. It's a lot easier to traverse the map when you know that the zombies are in one general area (behind you.) just focus on passing the zombies so that you can put them behind you. Run with a light weapon out. If you absolutely have to kill zombies to get through a choke point, kill them in the quickest way possible. Use the weapon which kills fastest in your load out, and go for headshots. Remember, if you've got 23 zombies on one side and 1 on the other, that one zombie is the most deadly. Yes, it is in this map, but it is a lot more rare than in buried. Remember that you can't have the Raygun and the RGM2 at the same time. Well there are a few ways of reviving on this map easily. The new features are the Maxis drone and Sekhmet's Vigor. Any upgraded staff gets a D-pad attachment called Sekhmet's vigor. It shoots a ball of light which revives a downed teammate instantly. Very useful. Also the Maxis drone (a new buildable quadrotor) can revive teammates for You. Well the box can be either at generator 2 or 3 first. It's a 50/50 shot. It really doesn't matter which way you go. But if you enter the bunker between the 2 generators you can buy the Five-Seven pistol off the wall upstairs, which is significantly more powerful than the MP40. However it is single-fire, so it requires more skill to use effectively. But if you have a decent trigger finger it is one of the best wall weapons on the map. Have you noticed those hexagonal medals that appear above your perks on your HUD? Those are the rituals of the ancients. You get a reward token after completing certain challenges. If you spend 30,000 points in one game you get a special reward token. Take it to one of the reward chests. There is one chest in the spawn (it gives you a power-up when you activate generator 1) and another behind the church near generator 6. Insert the token and you get a free bottle of double tap 2. Even if you already have 4 perks you can do this and get a 5th perk. Probably the best place is to leave the door to generator 3 (speed cola) CLOSED from the spawn. Go through the other way from the spawn, then go back through to generator 3 from the bunker. Put the CLOSED door to the spawn at your back and camp the long stretch ahead of you. Be wary of the fire tunnel.
  5. Only time will tell... We've all been saying that for years. Wait until the next game. Next DLC. But if you think about it, we were saying that to ourselves after moon, and we STILL don't know where the O4 are. Hopefully treyarch actually are finished with the N4 hiatus, and we actually will learn more next game.
  6. Another thing I'd like to mention regarding the possibility of maxis sending Sam to Agartha willingly after moon. Richtofen talks about missing the O4 on tranzit. That means at some point between moon and tranzit they became unreachable to him. Most people assumed that this meant that they are dead. But wait! After pressing the button for maxis, richtofen says "if your daughter is even still alive, she has my body!" Or sonetging to that effect. This shows us that he actually doesn't know where she is or her condition. Assuming that Sam and the O3 are together, they could all very well be in Agartha. Additionally we haven't heard from any of them since moon. In BO3 we could very well find out that they are suspened in Agartha. And we could finally, truly, actually enter Agartha and release them. Most people consider the maxis ending the more likely one for treyarch to follow, so I don't see why not. Remember that buried is the furthest forward period in time we've encountered chronologically. Treyarch cleverly cut away from the main story with origins. There's still more events that could unfold after buried as a result of the button.
  7. Maybe it's like inception, and their subconscious image of richtofen manifests into a physical form which they perceive in origins. Each character has a different perspective in Agartha. The main 3 characters see it as a zombies situation, with which they are most familiar. Samantha projects herself as a dominant power of sorts, which is why she sees herself controlling them. Richtofen is just a projection of their view of him. Again it's very far fetched, but I'm just tossing it around.
  8. I tend to take on an agnostic standpoint in regards to the storyline. Until you prove something, we can't declare it true. Until you disprove something, it can't be declared false. Anyway, the answer most people feel comfortable with is supply that origins takes place in its own alternate reality. Like I said I don't necessarily believe that, but it would account for the very different Samanthas. If there was a real world Samantha and an alternate origins Samantha, then for all intents and purposes there are in fact 2 Samanthas. But let's say origins does exist in the main timeline. Consider this. Maxis can talk to us through electronics. The only time we saw him in the flesh (sorta) was when we made the vessel for him in origins. After that, we only ever hear him through electronics. Perhaps this is because after he becomes the maxis drone, he never re-enters his human body. Part of the explanation for his seemingly impossible lifespan is that he only exists as a brain manipulating electronics for the rest of the time we know him. But how could he have a daughter naturally? Alternatively, if maxis was finally given a body Frankenstein style, he could have inhabited the body of a person much younger than his own body. That way he could live longer than average, and theoretically go on to have a daughter. However, doesn't maxis enter the teleporter after the origins EE? Where did he go, and how could he still be around afterwards? The players themselves activate the teleporter, which triggers the cutscene. So how did he get from wherever he went to Germany some 30 years later? I'm not sure about that. Besides, how does one enter Agartha? Apparently maxis knows. Additionally we know that tranzit takes place shortly after the events of moon. We know this because in tranzit, richtofen is "just getting used to the aether." But still, something could have happened after moon and before tranzit. Here's a far-fetched idea I had. We know maxis had done degree of control over the electronics on gryphon station. Maybe in order to protect them (specifically Samantha) maxis instructed the O4 to enter Agartha. I mean, they did have a readily available teleporter. He could have sent them there out of harm's way with the intent to free them later once he took control of the aether and gained the trust of a few people to help him influence the physical world. (The N4.) Like I said, I can't come up with anything conclusive yet, but I figured I'd toss some ideas around.
  9. I've been in a grief game against 4 AFK. We just pushed them into the lava immediately. I've had a few memorable ultimate sacrifice moments when diving on the last enemy alive on the other team. I almost forgot to mention all of my "drop-a-load-in-your-pants" moments. 1. The MotD jumpscare. 2. The damn denizens. 3. Brutus 4. The panzer soldat 5. The origins jumpscare And countless plummets into the abyss of die rise, whether it be because of the trample steam, not paying attention, or my teammates trolling.
  10. Black ops... 2? Let's see. I can't choose just one. Probably the greatest clutch of my career on town grief 2v3. The second greatest clutch of my career on cell block grief. My first game of buried. Pressing the button. Getting awaken the gazebo on my first try. Upgrading all 4 staffs solo in one game. (On the 2nd attempt.) Getting a sweeper and a vitriolic withering at the same time. Maxing out my bank with the SVU. Getting trashed by "him" in the bus in my first game ever. Reaching the 1720th global rank in grief. We can't leave out multiplayer, can we? Getting a triple-collateral. Dozens of hilarious ninja defuses. Finally getting diamond SMGs. Randomly joining DarkJolteon's game just to be obnoxious. Going HAM in search and destroy on a regular basis. Scraping a positive K/D. (1.08) And above all having an amazing time kicking ass with my friends, and occasionally kicking my friends' asses too. Say what you will about it, but black ops 2 was an amazing game, and I'll always remember the experience.

You've stated your opinions. You've stated that you disagree. Bam. That's when you drop it or take it to the PMs. Come on people. Back to business. Thou shalt not troll thine own teammates. Completely apart from the grief argument, this goes without saying. But I can't tell you how many times my "teammates" have literally trolled me to death. Come on. Why do people go out of their way to ruin someone's game? That's just so uncool.
  12. Much more appropriate. Thou shalt raise the max ammo on high and count to three. The number to which thou shall count shall be three, and three shall be the number of the counting. The number to which thou shall not count is two, nor will thou count to four. Once thou hath reached the number of the counting, then shall thou retrieve the Max ammo.
  13. Good point about the hacked box weapons. Another similar one: Thou shalt maintain thine possession of the hacker, or alternatively stop bitching when the biodome gets decompressed. I kinda gave up on the biblical dialect halfway through that one. :mrgreen:

The more you know. anyway my point still stands, but we're still no nearer to finding out the BO3 timeframe. You all know I'm a nice guy, and I would never bash on someone unjustly. Still, having said that, PTG can go die in a hole. Let's leave those fools out of this. We should start referring to PTG as "He who must not be named."
  17. Also we know that the crew didn't time travel from kino to ascension. And we know ascension takes place during the Kennedy presidency. So kino must be set shortly before the events of ascension and "five." So now that we have a confirmation (or as close to a conversation as we are likely to get) about the zombies / campaign timeframe relationship, we still need to figure out when BO3 will be set.
  18. Alright guys, I had to do it. Tankeo Dempsaki's 10 commandments for the mystery box cult. For those of you who don't know, these illustrate stereotypical noob behavior. In other words, DO THE OPPOSITE! The Ten Commandments, set forth by the almighty mystery box himself. 1: Thou shalt not open any doors unless I await you. 2: Thou shalt worship me, and only me, as the key to your victory. These beings known as "Perks" and "strategies" are false prophets, and following them can only lead to your destruction. 3: Thou shalt bestow all points upon me, for by this tribute your faith in me is proven. 4: Those who deny me shalt not be revived. 5: Giving points unto other beings, such as the False Prophets, shall lead to your destruction. 6: My bounty is plenty, give unto me any weapons you do not desire, for you will surely get a better one next time. 7: Follow me, and only me, wherever I may roam. 8: And unto those who have been overtaken, and are not followers of the Almighty Box, who have refused it's ominescence and Forsaken themselves in doing so, offer no help, and no pity. 9: Thou shalt spin around three times, dive to prone and shoot all four corners. 10: He totally stole that Wundergun from you.
  19. It makes a difference because if kino is actually not in the 60s, then it doesn't match up with the campaign, and that ruins that theory. That way we won't have any way to estimate the timeframe of BO3 zombies relative to its campaign.

Kino is set in the 40's* as it was supposed to be in WAW's Map Pack 4 which was cancelled due to MW2's release date so Kino was moved to Black Ops. *: The Nazi flags are also proof enough of Kino being set in the 40's. But they time traveled forward from Der Riese to kino. I thought all the flags were just left there since WWII. Would you bother breaking into a cinema filled with zombies just to update the decorations? Ain't nobody got time fo dat. Edit: I knew about the WAW map pack 4 switch-up. Just because it was going to be in WaW doesn't mean it couldn't have changed up time periods. Look at call of the dead. It takes place in 2011. Time travel throws some major curve-balls directly into the faces of the zombies community. Even if kino was in WaW it could still take place in a different time period, which I really think it does.
  21. Well forgetting the whole playing with dolls thing, each game's first zombies map takes place in the same time period as the campaign, and then works from there. For example all world at war maps are in WWII era. Kino, five, and ascension take place during the 60s, like the campaign. However as black ops DLC progressed it worked forward into the future. In black ops 2 we start out in 2025 (or somewhere in the future in that general area.) just like the campaign. MotD and Origins mixed that up a bit of course, but whatever. So this begs the question: when will the BO3 campaign be set? Presumably not too far in the future past BOII. Maybe a direct continuation. In that case we might get closure from the N4. Of course it could just begin an entirely new story with new characters, in which case zombies could be in any timeframe. I'm leaning towards it taking place mainly just after the N4 pressed the button. We could close up that door and proceed to open another.
  22. One thing I really liked that they mixed up was the power system. As efficient as Germans may be, throwing one giant switch to turn on the entire map is redundant. Some people thought MotD took this change too far and complicated it too much, which is understandable. However the conversion generators were beautifully done. Namely because they can be turned off without turning off your perks after buying them like with turbines. It was a really nice breath of fresh air to hear "thump-thump SCREEECH" on mob of the dead when entering afterlife, or maxis yelling "CONVERSION PROCESS ACTIVATED" or whatever instead of the famous "CLUNK wubwubwubwub" So much onomatopoeia.
  23. As another title reaches the end of its life cycle, we are faced with that ever-present question: what will we remember this game by? World at war was always famous for the Wunderwaffe DG-2 and it popularized the original four perks. It introduced hellhounds, pack-a-punch, teleporters, and most of zombies as we know it. Black Ops was often remembered for Mustang and Sally and the Thundergun. PhD Flopper was also a main focal point of BOI maps. This was the game where Easter Egg hunts became a big deal. So how will we remember Black Ops II? I think the Raygun Mark II was a particularly prevalent weapon. Buildables are a given. What do you think? What did you find noteworthy or remarkable in BOII? Please don't say something like lag or lack of effort. This is not another of the thousands of threads that focus on negativity. Stay nice. Stay classy. -EJ
  24. I'm too nice. Seriously. That includes going out of my way to try and revive even if its basically hopeless, buying doors when I have the least points and no guns, and Letting other people get the first box hit or whatever. I don't know how to say no when a teammate asks me to do something. In solo it's mostly not focusing. I mean I'm a train artist, I can tell you that. I mean I have the moves. 8-) but 95% of my solo downs are messing up my train and trapping myself between 24 zombies and a hard place. It's not like I'm impatient, but I just lose focus after a while. Also I am literally unable to listen to 2 people talking to me at once. I zone out and become completely unresponsive for a few seconds if I focus too hard on two voices at once. It doesn't affect gameplay, but communication. This is only an issue because nobody I know has any social etiquette and consequently can't shut the hell up while someone else is talking. That's all I have to say about that.
  25. All that does is swap the attachments. Once you have an upgraded gun there's no un-upgrading it or re-upgrading it. The ammo would stay the same. Also from a gameplay perspective, 2000 points for upgraded ammo? Nah. Looking back, regarding the warning sign on the machine, it might not be such a bad idea to pack-a-punch your hand. One-Inch-Punch for days. :mrgreen:
