~EJ's Pro-Tips~ Need Some Advice?
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Don't you remember the ten commandments of the mystery box cult that Tankeo made? The idea is that all noobs are in a secret organization called the mystery box cult. It's called this because good players aren't as dependent on the box but noobs blow all their money on it. Glorious. It is impossible to get all 8 perks at the same time on moon solo. However you can get all 8 perks in one life if you hack a perk machine. This takes the perk from you and gives you a refund. You can use this to trade out for other perks without having to go down to get rid of them. In multiplayer the only way is through the Easter egg. As soon as you have your long-term strategy for the game set up, hit the box until you get either a dragunov or an L96A1. The dragunov works better. Upgrade it and at the end of a round you can lure him to the pool beneath the MP40. Then just shoot for his upper chest / neck / head area. Don't go solely for headshots because if you miss it is a serious waste of ammo. Anyway, after using about half of the gun's reserve ammo he will die. It's amazingly powerful against him. If you want you can hang on to your sniper and repeat this process to get all 8 perks. Note that this is more effective than a scavenger because a single scavenger shot can kill 24 zombies, but a sniper can only kill 3. It is much more efficient to waste a sniper's ammo on George than the scavenger. And don't forget to empty your weapon's ammo into him before upgrading it! Well I've never done this, but I know that if you pick up a normal death machine drop (not from George) while already holding a death machine, it just restarts the 30 second timer for using the power up. So I don't see why this would work. I'm going to have to say that this is false. Also if you are holding the DG-2 and pick up a normal death machine you lose the DG-2. -
For the record, the Die Rise / GLF boss does have a name. They are called "Jumping Jacks" by the devs. Just sayin.

We've bee. So focused on traps and what not, we've forgotten about their baby brother, the buildables. Now that we know the map is taking place in Alcatraz, what FITTING Buildable ideas do you all have? When I say fitting, I mean (for example) a wonder weapon idea could go on any map. Try and focus on buildables that would be good specifically for this map. For instance, the trample steam was fitting for due rise because of the focus on verticality. One idea I see all the time is a head lamp that improves visibility. What ideas do you have?

~EJ's Pro-Tips~ Need Some Advice?
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Thanks a lot! I will add this to the OP. This thread hasn't gotten much attention in the past week, but we're still here, ready to drop a pro-tip for all of your noob-tastic needs! -
Traps are your best friend in high rounds, because by then you'll likely be rolling in at least 100,000 points. But no amount of points can refill your wonderweapon when you're out. Thad when ye almighty electro barrier comes in handy. 1000 points grants more than 24 kills if used correctly. But in multiplayer I ignore traps completely. I'm mostly a solo player. To be honest I'm great solo but multiplayer I'm not quite as... Well, whatever. Anyway 75% of the time I flip the switch in MP, I do it to cover my back when running away (usually to revive.) but I always hit the wrong switch and just cut myself off But I'm glad to see them back! Plus they all look new. (acid sprinklers? Spike ceilings? Indiana jones style!)

~Parallel Universe~ Is Richtofen Still In Control?
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in Mob of the Dead
I'm personally favoring the parallel universe idea, but I'm open to others. For example, Red-Eyed maxis is in control. He simply turns the mystery box red in order to further demonstrate his power. Not because it physically makes him more powerful, just because it shows him basically saying "I do it because I can, bitches!" in explanation he could say as the announcer "why didn't the other two ever have FUN with this like me?" to show that he is simply changing stuff because he can. -
~New Boss~ Scariest Map? They Weren't Kidding!
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in Mob of the Dead
Oh god please this. Maybe a sign on who's performing the song? Each map's Easter egg song's artist corresponds to the characters on the map. For example, Elena = O4, Nova = N4. So we'll either be seeing a new artist (highly unlikely. Fans would react negatively.) OR an old artist will return. However, since they usually correspond to a group of survivors, maybe the N4 will appear as non playables, like through an Easter egg, and Clark will return. Or *gasp* O4 and Elena! But A7X was on CotD so you never know. -
I don't know what it could be for this map, but in my Binomial Nomenclature thread I mention that each actual map name refers to a geographical location associated with a historical event. Since the timeframe is still up in the air, we can't be certain yet what historical event could be represented.

~Parallel Universe~ Is Richtofen Still In Control?
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in Mob of the Dead
It's possible, but like I said, the mystery box seems to have been changed alongside the eye color. This didn't happen in the transition from Samantha to Richtofen, so why would it happen from Richtofen to ... Whoever? unless the reason the eyes changed is NOT related to a controller changing. And juggerwicho pointed out that the SNN box light is yellow, but in the black ops version it is blue. It is unclear why they chose to change from yellow to blue from SNN to Der Riese, but I doubt it holds any story significance. The point is that maxis (or anyone else) taking control WOULD change the eye color, but NOT the box light. Edit: this theory is not necessarily a true. however if it is, I bet they'll try to work in some gimmicks related to the parallel universes. Nothing game-changing of course, just little things. Maybe the mystery box or perk jingles play backwards? That would be cool. -
What I would like to point out first is that the mystery box light has always been a blue beacon, shining straight up in the air. Even when Edward came into control its color hasn't changed. However, we clearly see a red light going up into the sky from out of Alcatraz. Some have said that this might just be a pack-a-punch mechanism like the lighthouse from Call of the Dead. However, even if it was, we'd still see the blue light somewhere else. So we can only infer that the red light seen is from the mystery box. Also note that the eyes of the zombies are red. This normally signifies that the person in the MPD has changed. However, not even a change of the controller has ever affected the mystery box like this. So we can rule out a change in the controller as the cause for this change. The eyes and the box started as almost the same color blue, and ended up being about the same color of red. Both of these (the eyes and the box) are associated with the aether. This has lead some to believe that the reason these colors are different is because this map takes place in a parallel universe. Ok, I can't really post a pic because I don't have the ability to make one now, but I took a picture of blue eyes zombies, and gave it an inverted color filter. Guess what color their eyes turn? RED! The fact that the inverted colors match up shows that the Alcatraz map may in fact take place in a world parallel, or opposite to ours! That is only one good piece of evidence to support the parallel universe theory. If anybody wants to contribute more, it would be greatly appreciated. Anyway, if their eyes are red and in an inverted world, in OUR reality their eyes would still be blue. So if this map IS in a parallel universe, richtofen is still in control.

NEW PERK IDEA: NUKEOZADE
Electric Jesus replied to Z0M3IE_SLAYA_115's topic in Research & Development
This is a really cool idea! It's balanced, but effective! Is the name supposed to be a reference to "lucozade?" (spelling?) They don't sell it in America but I've heard of it. -
First Look at MotD Wunder Weapon (pics) / Perk & Ray Gun too
Electric Jesus replied to GRILL's topic in Mob of the Dead
I doubt it will be a troll, since you actually see him holding the bottle, which is only possible in-game If it is purchased. I wouldn't want the whole "two weapons put together" thing from moon again. It was cool but it would be very Un-creative to do it again. If it was a double barrel shotgun with a different type of ammo in each barrel, that would be cool. One idea I have is that you need 5 parts to build this weapon. 3 form the actual weapon, and 2 for ammo. However there are 5 types of ammo scattered around. (fire, ice, acid, lasers, and water for example.) you have to pick 2 of those to use, and you can only change it while the gun is completely empty. Each type of ammo has its own effect, and it will be based on your choice. Back up, I dun got me a flame throwin' acid shoopin' shotgun! Woo america! -
~New Boss~ Scariest Map? They Weren't Kidding!
Electric Jesus replied to Electric Jesus's topic in Mob of the Dead
Check this shot out. The shadow below the head resembles the profile of a dog's body in a sitting position. This reminds me of a theory I made a while ago about "Shadows," who have half-teleported. For example the teleporter shuts down while they are using it, causing half of their mass to be in the aether or some other dimension. This would make them "shadows." essentially they are like ghosts. Transparent, dark, intangible. However the solidity of its head seems to go against this idea. But again. Shadowy form Big horns Evil looking Head only is on fire It's totes a demon. -

Electric Jesus replied to GRILL's topic in Mob of the Dead
Looks almost like a double barrel shotgun. My god, it really DOES look like a double barrel shotgun! Hmm. Based on the prominent color it's effect involves the color green. AND it's a shotgun. I feel vaguely reminded of something I posted long ago... -
Here is my idea. When you bleed out, you enter purgatory. While in Purgatory, you are literally locked in a cell in the prison. It is in an area isolated from the rest of the team. In other words, you CAN NOT access the cell or it's immediate area unless you die. Think along the lines of kino's teleporter rooms. Now you can have up to 3 people in this room. Or maybe their purgatories are all separate cells? Anyway, my main idea is that you can access switches in purgatory that you use to interact with the "real world." so, in order to complete the Easter egg, one person had to sacrifice themself. For example, there are 4 switches that must be activated simultaneously. 3 are scattered around the map, and one is in the death cell, AKA purgatory. So one person must sacrifice themself then activate it in time with the others while dead. OR The person in purgatory can see things written on the walls which they must convey to their team which is still alive. Something like that.

If they were actors filming a movie, Treyarch would have said that in the description like they did with Call of the Dead. Treyarch flat out said this is set during the prohibition era. viewtopic.php?f=149&t=30375 They mentioned the prohibition era when talking about the time setting. They never actually said "the events of this map occur during the prohibition era." so this is not necessarily true. I personally think it seems likely that they could be actors in a present time period map. All of the stuff that seems old are just props and stuff. For instance, the mini Uzi is present, even though that is a very modern weapon. However the tommy is also present, but since they are portraying mobsters it makes perfect sense. Doesn't the presence of a prop tommygun seem more likely than the mini Uzi traveling back in time?

When you get a game over, the moon crashes into Alcatraz. great game. My first thought was towards the illuminati, but now I don't think so. With the horns and fire looking design it resembles the demon head thingy seen in the trailer. Maube as part of the Easter egg you have to lure them towards those eyes to light them up? Or kill the enemies next to them?
-
If it had a true inverted color scheme, the characters' skin would be blue. Since we aren't playing as smurfs, I can see that the things that appear inverted are the wonder weapon, the box light, and the eyes. What do these have in common? They are all connected to the aether! Just thought is point that out. I can't be sure of what significance it holds yet.

Mr. Blonde from Reservoir Dogs (such an amazing movie) What's-his-face from Usual Suspects (also an amazing movie) That other guy from the Sopranos And I don't recognize the 4th guy but I know he is from Goodfellas. This is going to be so awesome. My only problem is that it WASN'T MISTER PINK!!! Come on. He was the best one.

Finally! Someone agrees! I honestly think this will be set in modern era, following the CotD filming idea. That would account for future guns AND the Uzi, which is a "Modern" gun, as it is in MW, which takes place around the present. (hence the fact that it is modern.) Let's see... There are some striking similarities between call of the dead and mob of the dead. Firstly the name is an obvious reference to the former. Secondly are the real life people. All are centered around a main topic. (horror actors / mobsters.) They are both tangential maps, breaking off on a different direction which is still relevant. Bearing in mind how similar these two maps are, and bearing in mind that CotD took place during the present (relative to the time it was released) is say this map will likely take place in 2013. We might see another clue that tells the time setting, like the director take thingy on CotD. Bearing THAT in mind, we can assume that green run is decades before present day. Much time has passed. It is likely that in the time elapsed, the 3rd tower has been completed, the system is finished, and Edward is ejected from his seat in the aether to be replaced by.... Someone. It could be maxis. Like I said we've never physically encountered anyone with red eyes so it could be a character who is yet to be introduced. However like I said a while ago, if red is just the default eye color and NOBODY is in control, then it may be following along my Stalemate Associates Theory, which you can read HERE If you're interested. I honestly feel like it could actually happen like this. It might be involved with the Easter egg for MotD.

Mob of the Dead Discussion/ Trailer Analysis
Electric Jesus replied to JMDogg's topic in Mob of the Dead
Well amen to that! there are very few circumstances under which this phrase DOESN'T apply to zombies. -
I started to watch this, am I going to die? Seven... Days... But seriously, I hope it's something scary.

Mob of the Dead Discussion/ Trailer Analysis
Electric Jesus replied to JMDogg's topic in Mob of the Dead
You guys keep saying stuff like "hellhounds were sent back in time! So we're the guns! That's how we have future stuff back during prohibition!" don't you think it more likely that the new new 4 (Jesus, what do we call them? The Alcatraz A4?) into the future? That would account for the possible presence of hellhounds and all the future guns. You might then ask "why then, EJ, would the zombies have red eyes?" everyone immediately assumes That it takes place before Sam was in control, where some other entity with red eyes was in control. Or even that nobody was in control, and red is the default eye color. But maybe this is in the future (relative to die rise, for example a short while after die rise.) maxis's plans have succeeded, and richtofen is no longer in control. So now either nobody is in control (following the default eye color idea) or maxis is in control, and he has red eyes. OR someone else could be in control. Tid would have to be someone who has never appeared in physical form or hadn't been introduced yet, since nobody had had red eyes so far. Also IMO that is NOT a hellhound. But that just me. -
One thing I brought up in a different topic was this. What do we have here? Zombies with red eyes (associated with evil) Big ol' ball of fire (associated with hell) Evil creepy monster thingy *cheerleader voice* put it all together and way do you get??? Flaming evil red-eyed Monster! WOOO!!! So maybe... Maybe it is literally a demon? Edit: @flammen But couldn't they have attempted to teleport a different kind of animal before fluffy? Because we all know what happened VERY shortly after the fluffy incident. I doubt maxis had time to scribble a journal entry while being mauled by a hellhound in a locked room.
