  6. hey thanks man, glad to see that some people still enjoy a conspiracy theory from a conspiracy nut lol. really interested to see where Extinction goes - and quite hoping that it's got more to it than meets the eye.
  7. My most memorable, and favorite moment of Black Ops 2? Would have to be launch day for ORIGINS. Myself, Way, Festo & Werf got up at the crack of dawn - and literally just played for like 8 hours straight. Inside of those 8 hours - I can specifically recall screaming for my life while being chased by the Panzer. The amount of excitement, terror and all around wacky fun was off the charts.
  8. Ah sorry didn't mean to do sock-to-mouth. One last question - why are the O4's statues holding swords, and not staffs? I really hope it means we're going medieval.
  9. I agree that there is a lack of idea threads, but IMO it has been that way since BO2 launched. This was several months after I joined the site, and I remember that even after TranZit & Die Rise came out - I was still making threads about Operation Paperclip, Shangri-La Mountains, and other "old" topics. The problem lies mostly with the way that they made the "story" in Black Ops 2. In Black Ops 1, the zombies storyline was cryptic - but at the same time gave you a nod as to where you were going next. You had the "Golden Key", the Focusing Stone, and the Vril Device following you through maps. You slowly grew wary of Richtofen thanks to audio cues. When the end came, it was THE end that fans had hoped for. Sam & Richtofen swapping bodies, playing in outer space, blowing up the earth, but then you returned to earth via Area 51 portal annnndd... is this earth? is it just a graphical glitch? Insanity. Literally leaves you at the biggest possible cliffhanger. In Black Ops 2, the zombies storyline we'd come to know from BO1 was all but non-existent. Instead, we get a multiple narrative/multiple outcome storyline set in a whole different timeline seemingly ages after the events of Moon (which we never really get an answer to). More questions are given then answers. Each map is more confounding then the next, and on top of that - a lackluster cast of "less than hero's" who are literally just doing what they are told. Richtofen had a plan in BO1, does any mortal being have a plan in BO2? We STILL don't know!!! As far as I could tell, no one in the N4 knew what the f*** they were doing - they were questioning it the whole time. The Flesh, the Rift, the Nav Cards - it never. added. up. But then, we were given ORIGINS. With ORIGINS, we learned that element 115 rips things through time and space, & in it's most pure form is bright blue. We learned that the O4 were normal once, but that's not all we learned. We learned that the O4 have much more history than we could have ever thought. Festo, pretty much hit the nail on the head. After the events on Origins anything we would have would be nothing short of a guess. The only thing that was really left to go on was run of the mill child Samantha and sirens. Which has already been discussed a few times. So basically we are at the point where anything we write would be fanfic and should be posted under stories. LACKLUSTER? NOTHING SHORT OF A GUESS? The problem is, you guys are taking Treyarch's bait. They want you to think that it was all a game, and that the ending is the "end all" explanation. You are taking the most blatant obvious thing, and using that as the sole determining factor. You MUST LOOK DEEPER. Why are there statues of the O4 in a room that has been sealed for centuries - long before their birth? In the statues, why are the O4 wearing clothing with the same symbol as the generator/Agarthan (as MMX proposed) zombies? Why is the picture a drawn image of the O4 sporting the generator/Agarthan zombies symbol clothing again? And why are they holding up staffs in front of a shocked crowd who are clothed in robes? What is that shining city in the back left? Why does it say "first" in Latin? Why Latin? Why does Richtofen STILL have the MotD blood vial? What we have, my friends, is a gold mine of questions and futures. The ending is far from lackluster, and in terms of "guessing" - we are going back, back, back. Farther back then we've ever been. We will learn why the O4 have gigantic statues, and what they did to achieve such an eternal honor. I'm working on a thread called "There and Back Again: An Agarthan Story", and I'm going to cover all this in detail.
  10. annnnnnnd the DLC names have officially been released. Put together each first letter, and it spells ODIN. Like it or not, we're getting more and more evidence that ODIN is super important - and that perhaps it hasn't played it's full part.
  11. Onslaught Devastation Invasion Nemesis O.D.I.N. Activision included the names to the DLC in the most recent e-mail they sent out. It is unclear as to whether this was intentional, or not - but considering Activision sent it out themselves with the art, I'm going to say that this isn't a leak.
  12. thanks for the feedback, guys. I finished up the campaign, and couldn't find any further ties to Extinction other then ODIN/events involved with ODIN. We'll have to wait until the next DLC to find any new information. I'm really interested to see where these bugs came from, and as someone said above - if they were here before us.

  14. Duece mother f***ing Costello. Dude, you helped me do the Easter Egg on ORIGINS. I think you're buddies with "ImTomCruisingIt". Regardless man, awesome to see you CoDZ. and great tips on Extinction! We will have to jam a game soon. and as for me and my prestige on extinction? I literally just reached my first relic. Nice thread Way, awesome advice - though it's not quite the same as experiencing it with you first-hand ;)
  15. SPOILERS AHEAD. Extinction - the very end of human beings. To understand how this all started, we must look into the campaign of Call of Duty: Ghosts. The Middle East has been devastated by a Nuclear attack, all their oil resources along with it. The remaining oil-producing nations of South America form the Federation in response to the ensuing global economic crisis and quickly grow into a global superpower, swiftly invading and conquering Central America and the Caribbean. The Federation hijack and gain control of the Orbital Defense Initiative (ODIN), an orbital space station superweapon that utilizes kinetic bombardment, and use it to destroy several cities in the southwestern United States. The Aliens: "Extinction: Point of Contact" takes place 2 weeks after the kinetic bombardment. The Ghosts campaign takes place 10 years after the kinetic bombardment. The aliens themselves appear to be hybrid/mutant forms of insects - resembling beetles, scorpions, etc. but almost crossbred with mammals. Couple that with the fact that the ODIN strikes unearthed the aliens from the ground, and the whole things just screams "alien bugs" to me (ala Starship Troopers). It bares mentioning that not all the aliens come from the ground, they have some sort of communication system - as they are able to hail giant meteor "nests" from outer space, in which explosive bug-like aliens will emerge after crashing into the earth. and now for the question on everyone's mind... Why Don't People Talk About Aliens in the Ghosts Campaign? + Throughout the campaign, there is no mention of aliens, "killer bugs", or anything out of the ordinary. This can lead us to several scenarios in relation to the events of Extinction (I only list 2 but I imagine you all can come up with much more): Scenario 1 (The Realist Approach) - Extinction mode has no relation to the campaign. The only linking factor was ODIN's kinetic bombardment, and the connections end there. The story, however, does not end - and it will be revealed in DLC. The universe is separate from the campaign universe. This scenario is the more plausible. Scenario 2 (The Conspiracy Nut Approach) - Extinction mode happened unbeknownst to the general population that survived the strike. Remember that the kinetic bombardment only occurred in several cities in the Southwestern United States. Most of the population in those cities were probably killed in the ODIN attacks, and the few survivors were evacuated in the following days. "Point of Contact" occurs 2 weeks after the strikes, so this would give the government time to evacuate people before they realized the aliens were emerging from the ground. I'd be inclined to believe that any survivors that hadn't been evacuated within 2 weeks would either be dead from exposure, or dead from the aliens themselves. Dead men tell no lies. The government covered up the aliens from the mass public. There was enough hysteria as it was with the kinetic bombardment, the last thing people needed to worry about was an ensuing attack from subterranean aliens. Plus the USA was weak after the ODIN attacks, if news spread of the aliens then that could be "the straw that would break the camels back" (i.e. send the US further into chaos). No one talks about the aliens 10 years later, because no one KNOWS about them. The only people that know are elite government officials, and the extraction unit involved with "Point of Contact". Perhaps they also know that the problem is widespread, worldwide. Time will tell. This scenario is the more extreme. That ^^^ is what I believe. I'll be looking over the facts more closely and adding to this thread as information presents itself, and DLC becomes available. Thanks for reading, and please let me know what you think - if you agree, disagree, or if you just want a hug.
  16. not bad at all. certainly better then I thought it was going to be. convinced me to buy the game.
  17. Friends, Slayers, Meat-sacks... Welcome back to CoD:Z. It's been a long 2 weeks. Please keep an eye out in Site News for a "Staff Update" thread in which we will talk more in-depth in regards to the reasons behind the down time, what we're doing to change it, and what's in store for the future of CoD:Z (all fantastic things, I assure you). So please, stop by BoomByeYeah's playdate thread to play with some of your favorite CoDZ-sters. Take a gander at MMX's storyline in General Zombies, you know you've missed it. Perhaps take a pit stop to share your thoughts on Extinction in our new COD: Ghosts section. and of course, let us know how many chicken sandwiches you've eaten in EJ's off topic extravaganza thread. Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.
  18. count me in cah-bon (boston accent). stoked that it's for a Hospital from my hometown area.
  19. If you would like to continue this discussion with me in a PM, then go for it. I've said my piece, you can interpret it however you want. I won't have this thread turn into a debate about a debate.
  20. Nuh uh you totally stole that method from JohnnyYouTuber. All the pro's do it. On a more serious note, the crazy place is super easy after you've completed the EE. It's pretty much like a huge open area, 4 people can train at once - good times. Up until then, it can be a little hectic. Infest hit the nail on the head when describing the places to train in there pre-EE.
  21. True... but a futuristic weaponized microwave is quite different then an electric fence (an invention utilized since 1905). You can't see microwaves, just like you can't see electricity - BUUUUUT the guardian "field" extends into an external radius, virtually allowing ANYONE to walk into a guardian field. The electric fence is internally charged, and does not have any kind or radius other than direct contact. I know you were kidding, but yeah, all the same. I can't believe that it would be just the same terrorist survival mode from MW3, except where you are expected to have 40 terrorists run blindly into an electric fence. You are misrepresenting what I am saying. I'm not saying that electric fences can/cannot exist without aliens or zombies. I'm saying that, in response to Naitrax's post asking about why everyone thinks it's aliens, these are the reasons why I believe people immediately jump on the "aliens" bandwagon. I'm looking more at the subconscious behind the hype/rumors, not trying to make a compelling logical case. I think you could have given more picture examples as to what aliens and zombies look like. I've never seen them before! :P
  22. see that's what I'm saying. something as stupid as a zombie, or as unfamiliar as an Alien might fall for such things. it's hard for me to believe that a terrorist would run full on into an electric fence.
  23. naw, it's all just hear say at the moment. like I said, it seems to be mostly based on the augmentations to the Ghosts Skull logo. Making it have sharp teeth, seemingly alien. also - would terrorists run head on into an electric or fire trap? I think not. Certainly not to say that terrorists are smarter then Aliens, but more so - I believe we are dealing with something that would be susceptible to an electric fence possibly because they are not experienced with such a normal thing. Zombies run into traps because, well, they crave blood and that's all they can think of. We have to consider who would be running into a "electric fence" trap. also the inclusion of "relics" makes it seem along the lines of a "vril device"... if you will ;)
  24. Given the nature of how they altered the "Ghosts" skull, I'd think this is the biggest driving point behind the whole "aliens" thing. I.e. it looks like an Alien, so it is Aliens. Fire and electric traps? Oh no you didn't, IW.
  25. Zombies is the future of CoD:Z Forum. One-off copies are nothing but that. Remember "chaos" mode in MW3? With the "perks"? Yeah. Personally, I don't think it's going to be called "Extinction"... It's ACTUALLY going to be called: "WIZARD ALIEN TERRORISTS SPONSORED BY DORITOS, MOUNTAIN DEW, AND DIABETES!" Here's the promo art, furreals:
