The Partially Cyclical Omnipotent Samantha Theory
GRILL replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in Origins
I think we are supposed to be looking through the POV of the Tank doll, as we never see Tank's doll during the end cutscene, while we see WaW-BO Era, Richtofen, Takeo and Nikolai (along with Samuel and Russman under the bed), so I think what seems like a video camera is supposed to be us looking through the PoV of the Tank doll (aka, us as the players) while Samantha plays with "us" Ah yes, I think you are right. Well, disregard my comment about the video camera then lol. Good catch Misty. -
(7/15 update:) Richtofen still has the blood vials in the Giant intro. So, remember the ORIGINS reveal trailer? link for mobile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... B_9esQucmw Around 00:50 seconds, it starts panning up Richtofen - showing off his equipment. At 00:54 seconds, we can see that Richtofen is carrying 2 blood vials. 481B & 386A. They were the inmate ID numbers for two of the prisoners in Mob of the Dead, Sal DeLuca & Finn O'Leary *** There are no steps in ORIGINS detailing these blood vials, so perhaps we will see them in the Giant. In game blood vial:

The Partially Cyclical Omnipotent Samantha Theory
GRILL replied to MysteryMachineX's topic in Origins
very nice theory, Murder. Gives me hope for the future. The only "hole in your theory" question I have for you is - if it's WW2, how does Sam have a video camera? She clearly uses it as the "eye of the beholder", because she knocks over zombie action figures while making sound effects - and then carefully sets it down so it's a double shot of her and Eddy. Later, it is clearly illustrated that the device is a camera by the dog, Fluffy, knocking it over - skewing the angle. I'm unsure if they had a handheld version of the video camera so early in history. EDIT: TheRealMistyBriarton pointed out to me that the POV is actually from the Tank Dempsey action figure's view, not a video camera. Disregard the above paragraph! I think that the gramaphone is a great point in regards to what time period it would be - but I would argue that perhaps it was just used for aesthetic purposes, such as all the other items in the room (chalk drawings, fake perk bottles, posters, etc.) so - were Sam and Eddie both in control for ORIGINS? Considering that there are both yellow eyed, and blue eyed zombies? (regular zombies = yellow, templar zombies from the crypt = blue). Another thing I wanted to point out was the specificity of the zombie/enemy action figures. We have a zombie from Buried (cowboy hat), a zombie from MotD (barb wire wrapped around him), the Panzer Soldat from ORIGINS - all very detailed toys, yes? Well, let's have a look at our O4: Those are the WaW-BO era O4. One would think that the toy company making these action figures would have made younger figurines as well, as I can attest that in my childhood days, there would be multiple versions of the same character (i.e. Tank Dempsey, young Tank, Ascension Blood Splattered Tank, Astronaut Tank). I'm not sure what it could mean, but I figured that it was an oversight worth pointing out. -
Origins EE "Little Lost Girl" Written Steps + Staffs
GRILL replied to Ehjookayted's topic in Origins
hey all, just updated the OP with in depth instructions on ULTIMATE staffs. Cheers to Briggzy for all the information he gathered/researched. oh also, let us know if anything is incorrect - or anything needs to be added. Feel free to PM Ehjookayted and myself with corrections, as I fear it may get buried amongst all the wonderful discussion here in this thread. Happy slayin'! -
well, we've learned that: We haven't had a clear shot at Maxis on the operating table, but Treyarch released a new trailer today that gives us a top down view of Maxis when Richtofen is lobotomizing him. http://youtu.be/JXCmVrdQXWo I just posted that picture because I thought it was sad that the only time we've ever seen the "real" Maxis (i.e. not a photo) was when he's a shriveled corpse with his head chopped in half.

Sounds ALOT like Brutus. Brutus is child's play compared to the Panzer Soldat. Does Brutus have mechanical arms that he can literally launch and pull you toward him while your trying to run away? Does Brutus SHOOT FIRE at you? I get what you are saying in terms of running after you, head shots, being able to clone himself, - but the Panzer Soldat is a whole different ball game. He's tough as nails, and can take you down in one hit. He is not as simple as Brutus. There is no easy way (as far as I know).
-
Ray guns work great. Also, if you get on the tank - I'm pretty sure the soldat can't get on it, so yeah, he'll just kind of stand there letting you shoot him... even if the tank is cooling down,

Can you elaborate on where you find the Ice disc? (I.e. are the four stone tablets "the excavation site"?) Nice job on these locals though.

Game play video!!!

even though it's just a sign that could easily mean the REAL definition of "No Man's Land" - it still gives me hope.

"One possible view of how the zombies came to be" -Vahn
GRILL replied to FatedTitan's topic in Origins
wait - so did they, or did they not include new footage of ORIGINS? I remember they had server issues, then pushed it back a day - now I don't know what the hell happened. edit: NVM. just found it. Just the same trailer, but with the unaltered Samantha ("Americanized") voice. qiq38yis-tU http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... iq38yis-tU Vahn starts talking zombies around 15:45. edit 2 - transcript: ... and then the server crapped out. -
Must be The Replacers, I reckon. I always wanted them to tie in the eclipse stuff. Always thought it was a missed opportunity.
-
Would sincerely doubt that. They made it pretty obvious that it's Samantha given the achievement, and her speaking in the opening. It'd be weird if it wasn't Samantha. Yup, I agree that it'd be weird if it wasn't her. Tac pretty much summed up how I meant it:
-
Who else could it be? I don't think it would be a grown woman based on how Richtofen says "the girl" Perhaps someone we haven't met yet? There are no certainties until the DLC comes out...

All letters have transcripts in the OP viewtopic.php?f=155&t=34432 But here you go:

viewtopic.php?f=155&t=35347&start=30#p328482 welcome to the forums, Nico Ace! I'm going to lock this thread just to direct all conversation about the modified cinematic to TheNathanNS' thread (in the link above), plus - your request has been answered
-
thanks everyone for the content (picture & transcript). OP updated. Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii like it!
-
that is SO strange. why would they manipulate the voice in one version of the video, and then leave it regular in the other version? Perhaps another oversight similar to the misspelling of Nikolai's last name? +1 TheNathanNS, awesome find.

here's "a" staff! almost looks to have wunder waffe like properties.

THAT... IS.... EPIC... VRIL STAFF FTW

Just wanted to say that the Vril Ya had Vril (115) powered staffs. Just figured I'd toss that info in, to mingle with all the theorizin'

Treyarch officially released the achievements for PS3. Like with MOTD and Buried, PS3 get the achievements before Xbox do for some reason. First on XBOX Live! ... except for the cheevos.
-
Festo - just wanted to pop in and say +1 on the analysis. probably one of my favorite parts of being a CoDZ member is reading the trailer breakdown threads sad though, that it'll be a couple years before we get another one of these... :(
-
awesome Liam, thanks for posting this. the staff's are the most intriguing part to me. FUS-RO-DIE!!!
