A New Mauser Picture! + A code that needs to be unraveled!
GRILL replied to Speedo Cola's topic in Research & Development
a simple machine-pistol with an attachment SCOPE... (do you get what I'm getting at? the scope has to do with the x-ray qualities) it's okay if you feel that it doesn't need x-rays, though edit: let me be clear that your theory on the latin numerals is WAY more believable than mine, not debating that lol. -
I kind of think so as well. The "CXS" is the most intriguing part for me. Mocking me made a good point: so a gun perhaps infused with 115? CXS could also be an abbreviation for "Coherent X-ray Scattering" - a scientific coined term. Either way, we know that Maxis worked for Mauser. Mauser was a real German arms company founded in the 1800's.

awesome connection PINNAZ. The battle of Cambrai literally lines up PERFECTLY with this most recent letter (as in, the assault was the day after it was penned!) One question though, are you saying that the "tanks" are supposed to be the "giant metal men" the British author is talking about? I find it hard to believe that a giant metal car would be referred to as a "metal man" (but of course, you might not even be making that argument at all). This is where my head is at: "strange lights in the sky" - Die Glocke, or possibly Vril spaceship technology "a mysterious plague" - 115's effects on Man after the Tunguska event "giant metal men" - I have no f*#^in' clue. Perhaps Vril ya in a space suit?* *edit: MMX has informed me that the Vril ya had robots to do their work for them.
-
Just wanted to point something out: every single one of the letters has ended in an ellipses "..." which leads me to believe we'll be getting another letter from each author - hopefully AFTER they are in the field. Edit:

Nah, WaW is the actual story, the BO1 maps are not "reboots" they are just replays. They are for nostalgia and gameplay only Remember that whole thing about hundreds of alternate timelines? Yeah. I think the BO remastered collection was just that.
-
well, you have to understand time travel is a tricky thing. one disruption, and you've created hundreds of alternate timelines with alternate outcomes. if all it took to time travel was a Wunderwaffe being shot at a teleporter, then I'd be willing to say anything is possible - which could mean the WaW maps took place in a different timeline.
-
hmmm... that would kind of... oh what's the phrase - "mess with everything we've come to know and accept" But I can tell you this - I would NOT mind that. This is more of my style thinking, but we still have one more letter (I hope). The time between the two posted yesterday was about 3 hours, so keep refreshing 3arc's FB!
-
what's strange to me is that only the first letter seems to be an actual "letter from the field" - the rest of the letters seem to be more in the vein of "letters from right before I go into the field". I wonder if we can expect to see more letters from the original writers, or if we'll have to wait until the map comes out...

locked because I can already see the flame war firing up. both sides have made their points, and in the future - if all sides are civil then the thread won't be locked.
-
you make a good point. I just read it in my head in a British accent and it sounded spot on, by jove! I'm officially changing my stance to that this is from a British perspective.
-
Yeah, that's why I just left it at "American". I'm not sold on ANY of this letters being from the O4 (yet), but I suppose time (travel) will tell. and yes, I know that joke was made on page 2... but it was worth it.

"scuttlebutt" is synonymous with gossip.

thanks Liam, posted. Transcript: To me, this totally sounds like it's from an American British individual. "Fritz" was a commonly used named for German's in general (along with such names as "kraut"). Giant metal men, though? Ohoho this IS shaping up to be something insane. I hope that i'll be at the site within a month or so to learn the truth with MY own eyes... I'll update as more letters emerge... EDIT:
-
Just checked, no additions to the zombie menu. Seems to be only a facebook thing for now. Agreed. Those are the most plausible outcomes ATM, but I'm still not 100% on the 1st note being Maxis. I'll update this thread as more images emerge...

about 3 and a 1/2 hours in between the posts. here is the "Letters from the Field" album link - to anyone who wants to keep refreshing it: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 723&type=3

*such weapons are secured looked like an R to me at first as well, lol. So - any reason why the first note has a wood/background and the second note has a leather background? Perhaps just different types of journals? The bark is strange though...

Thanks Liam - updated thread title & added the new note to OP. .... so Japan, huh? ... the emperor, huh? VERY interesting/confusing.

The UNanswered Questions of BO2 Zombies
GRILL replied to Infected115's topic in General Zombies Discussion
why does the LSAT have "adios" written on the side of it? this is the same for multiplayer - but it's in zombies as well. some say it's a reference from the movie Alien... I, otherwise, am confused. -
so with the new note on Facebook, we now have a date to possibly toy with: applying this date to the Mauser picture - we could then suggest that perhaps it's Jan. 5th or 8th, 1917: To me, it could be either January 5th - or January 8th... I really can't tell but what I do know is that there was a Eclipse of the Moon in Gemini on January 8th, 1917. I doubt it's significant, but it's quite interesting regardless if the date does turn out to be the 8th.

"adament" - correct spelling: adamant (dictionary link) "optomistic" - correct spelling: optimistic (dictionary link) ... yeah I'm sure yeah, I think it was in haste that they wrote this - which could explain the spelling errors. +1. Zimmy's just sitting back laughing. Pretty much my exact feeling as well. Something to note is that perhaps we have a date for the "19xx" Mauser picture that Liam posted in his "DLC 4 HINTS" thread:

we've got a thread going in General Zombies for this viewtopic.php?f=100&t=34432

it's 1917 and IDK about Maxis. Does he strike you as an individual who would make spelling mistakes?
