haha thanks Experience, it's always good to get feedback. If you take a look at page 1, you'll see that myself and MMX had some very in-depth discussions regarding how possible this all is. Many of the things you touched on were included in our conversations. The zombies are being controlled by Samantha, who is exclusively sending them after Richtofen. The history of the COD Zombie's version of Shangri-La is still up to debate IMO - but this is how I sum it up: - Shangri-La is connected to the hollow earth theory, and the civilization of the Vrill-ya. It is located in Central West Asia. - the Vrill-ya and the people of Shangri-La lived alongside each other. The villagers mined unradiated 115 for the Vrill-Ya, and the Vrill-Ya in turn gave the villagers enlightenment, along with positive attributes associated with unradiated 115. - Once all the 115 was mined, the site was to be completely moved. The Vrill-Ya used their technology to make the Shangri-La temple and surrounding area somewhat of a flying Vimana, it was always meant to travel through time & space. - Richtofen & Maxis completed the first truly working teleporter (and by truly working, I mean - it could teleport someone farther then behind the next wall). Richtofen was the test subject, and he was teleported from Der Riese all the way to the cavern under what would be Griffen station on the moon (there was oxygen somehow stored in the cavern). - This is the same cavern that housed the MPD, and upon touching the pyramid - Richtofen would never be the same. It bestowed another presence into his brain, an alien, demonic presence. This presence knew exactly where it needed to go, and what it needed to do. - Possessed Richtofen (as he is from now) then was able to use the MPD to transport himself to Shangri-La, and this is where my own interpretation starts to really kick in. The entity inside of Richtofen is basically related to the Vrill-Ya somehow. Whether it was an exiled member of their community, or just perhaps just an alien with a common lineage - EITHER WAY, it wants revenge. It visited Shangri-La to essentially tell all the other Vrill-Ya that they are doomed, and he'll be coming back with an army. - Several days later, Richtofen strolls back into Der Riese as if nothing happened. From here, there is no radio catalogued evidence that Richtofen returned to Shangri-La - but for the sake of this theory, he did return with 115 weapons and completely eradicated the Vrill-Ya. He then enslaved the villager workforce, and upon forcing them to keep mining 115 - he also had them radiate it (which in turn is what led to them all dying out). Unradiated 115 = potential positive properties, radiated 115 = more powerful but cancerous. *this is when my theory happens* So, the zombies aren't there until the 04 was there. Which would make Shangri-La perfectly explorable until the O4 were teleported there, and Sam started re-animating the corpses.

GRILL replied to HavingaHardTime's topic in Mob of the Dead
welcome to the forums, havingahardtime. Are you playing on Original or Easy? On Easy mode, I believe nothing EE related is attainable (i.e. Hells Redeemer, Golden Spork, Free Blundergat). I may be wrong. Asides from that - try going for at least 50 kills on the bridge. -
a'hoy Travis, the forums welcome you! Enjoy your stay

Richtofen Actually Good? Maxis Evil
GRILL replied to FatedTitan's topic in General Zombies Discussion
very nice post, fated. Really interesting how you brought in "Undone", makes me think that the whole story starting from Nacht was "undone". Which in turn makes me wonder if the story was actually "done", and how this may be involved with breaking the cycle. I have long thought Richtofen to be bipolar, or under possession - as I have seen outlined in many videos. I think you are totally spot on that he was changed after touching the MPD. He was a logical doctor with a fairly monotone vocal intonation, and then suddenly, he's a Van Wilder-esque maniac with a vocal intonation that could be described as flamboyant AT LEAST. "DEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAR DIARY" I think says it all. Chances are the human side of Richtofen was unable to compete with the presence inside of the MPD, thus giving it total control of his "carrion" (dead or decaying flesh of animal). Now when people hear dead or decaying flesh, they immediately think zombie - I'm going to contest that and point you a different part of the description for "carrion"... the use of the word animal. To me, the use of the word "animal" goes hand in hand with the MPD presence calling a human "vermin". If you've seen the Matrix, you've seen how Mr. Smith describes the human race - as a parasite, a disease... to paraphrase, he saw the human race as vermin. Fated, you've really cracked a window and I can smell the fresh air of theory. I need to think on this all some more, and I'll get back to you. Awesome thread. -
I've used this image once before, but this thread begs for repetition: MIND BLOWN the board in the cafeteria, the halfway to hell club, the ties to Ferguson - I'd never realized any of this. Your analysis is a pillar of knowledge, and overall EPIC. Question - are you going to delve more heavily into Arlington's "Icarus from Mars" drawing/symbolism?

I took a look at the IMDb information for Mob of the Dead. I am unsure if this is only pertaining to the opening scene - or to the whole level... Writing credits + Jason Blundell story - has worked on BO & COD3 + Craig Houston writer (story) - was a lead writer for CotD, has worked on BO, WaW, and apparently is the singer for one of the zombie jingles + Corky Lehmkuhl story - also the creative director for MotD, he worked as a writer & creative director on BO Art Department + Ken Harsha associate art director - no ties to any previous COD Animation Department + Adam Rosas animation director - has worked on BO & MW3 don't know if this helps, but yeah. Clearly they aren't a lot of zombie vets (asides from Craig Houston) on the IMDb side. I'd like to find out the specifics, but considering how different this map is from the others - I'm thinking it was the campaign devs. We'll see though... hopefully.

I'd like to get Dual Wield for the Uzi. but yeah... kinda hard to top an ACOG Ray Gun lol

I'm pretty sure that the superhero is just supposed to be a made up character. On the superhero's chest - you can see there is a sun. Arlington named the plane "Icarus", as he knew it would always get struck down (Icarus crafted wax wings to fly, but they were melted from the sun). Superhero's got a sun on his chest - I'd just call him "Icarus"... not shock gibson, or any other trademarked name. We know that Arlington did the drawing, we know that he is familiar with the tale of Icarus. In the end - the real question is... what does it all mean? Icarus did not listen to advice, and thus - drowned. I'm still trying to figure out how the tale of Icarus ties in on a larger scale.

Who knows indeed. The problem is that the jump scare man has facial hair. Russman is an obvious first choice, because he's appeared most recently. Reznov, I'd love if it was him, but there are several things about the face (wrinkles, nose size) that make me think otherwise. Something to ALWAYS consider is the blank portrait in Kino: We've still never figured out who the mystery man is, and he's appeared in loading screens as well (cheers PINNAZ): Mystery men have long since been a part of zombies, I can only hope we get some more concrete answers to this jump scare fellow soon.

I too had this experience last night. I was knifing at an enemy holding meat, and I seem to have grabbed it as I melee'd. I can't say anything to holding down an x button. I was able to get out of the "slow-run" mode after a round restarted. Here is a video of my experience: po0LbkCf3f4
