Mods better change the Der Eisendrachen forum name.... hahaha
-
Very strange that they changed the Map name & also added more Rockets. There is a large mountain that is visible on the left hand side now too. (Ice Caves?) @Lenne What do both Map titles translate to? @MixMasterNut The first ever mention in CoD Zombies of Der Riese was spelt incorrectly too. Note found in Shi No Numa ~ Die Glock (spelt wrong aswell) Der Reise

@Schrödinger Please make the images viewable on the thread. They are such great screenshots/images & seems a waste that you have to click a link to view them. Are you having trouble making them show when you post them? Because I know it can be tricky. Make a new line, right click your mouse & "paste as plain text", then press enter. (Or click on the clipboard image to the left of "Size" on the text edit menu bar. It should instantly show the image/picture if done correctly. Your pictures are great please show them on the thread so people don't skim over your post. BRAINS to you

As for the sign, it's just another Easter Egg. It says: "Black Ops Beers, Alcohol, since 1945". YES!!!. That is so cool. Nearly 2 years later, I learn something about Die Rise!! @Everyone, if you haven't already, Drop some BRAINS (likes) on this thread because DragonGJY has posted some great content here. Thank you again @DragonGJY & @Schrödinger "Black Ops Beers, Alcohol, since 1945"

@Nightmare Voyager Yep, just checked the Cell ciphers, Milo has decoded these a few weeks ago & there is no mention of the Hospital. Knew I read it somewhere. Thanks for telling me that it was from the Diary Entry. As for the jumpscare being Maxis? There is no other link to him or the orginal story in MotD. The Fireworks are a reference that it is New Years Eve. You can do an Audio Tour of Alcatraz (which Treyarch did) & there is a prisoner that talks about hearing the Fireworks on New Years Eve & the sound of all the people (& women) laughing coming across the Bay. Treyarch tool LOTS out of this tour. Hence the Audio Headphones at the end of the Easter Egg. If you get a chance, Youtube "Alcatraz Audio Tour" Agree to disagree on the jumpscare, but as yourself have posted above, there seems to be lots of interactions between these two groups. I still think a detailed thread (even if there are some speculation parts included) would be pretty cool. I'm sure there would be alot of things by the end. EDIT ~ Just looked at Al's Diary, it doesnt' say anything about a hospital? just says "When I get out" Al's Diary Entry

We seem to be discovering alot more references between the Mob of the Dead & Shadows of Evil Groups. Yourself & @Tac have made some great points above too. That's a cool quote. @Nightmare Voyager maybe you could make a nice detailed post of all the subliminal links/references? Small list of things ~ Mob of the Dead Plane Names appear as Business names Sal Deluca Coat getting Drycleaned Various character quotes Also want to post this again. This is too much of a coincidence. Al gets a Sniper rifle from the Mystery Box & says this quote. talking about a Magician having a magical cabinet that looks like the Mystery Box. Then on the Roof you get a jump scare which could be Nero? The quote is titled - vox_plr_3_wpck_snipe_d_3 (This refers to getting a sniper rifle from the mystery box) And we know what happens when you get a Sniper Rifle & look through the scope on the roof - Is the Mob of the Dead Jumpscare really Nero? Also trying to find one of the MotD Cell Ciphers. Pretty sure one of them talks about being in hospital? If it is from the Weasel's perspective, this could be what Jack Vincent is talking about? Weasel blowing himself up?

Just wanted to add a sypnosis for one of H.P. Lovecraft's short stories titled ~ The Colour Out of Space It is almost a parallel to the Reporters Phone Call # 1 The Colour Out of Space Synopsis Boston - New England 1882 Meteors Farmer - Fruit Seller Strange Vegetation Locals wouldn't talk about it Very similar stories here. l think it was @BlindBusDrivr who pointed this out to me. So Brains to you.

@Nightmare Voyager JJ's Newspaper stand a reference to Treyarch's Spiderman games? I'll pay that. And I hadn't even realised that Widow's Wine could reference Spiderman too. Cheers mate!

So if you didn't know or hadn't realised ~ All of the Business / Shop names are named after Treyarch Employees All of the Boxing Posters are surnames of Treyarch Employees All of the Boxer Photos are Treyarch Employees So here they are ~ Business Shop Names Chang's Laundry Yaw Chang - Senior Character Artist CJ's Printing Inc CJ Connoy - Producer Zac's Hats Zach Gonzalez -- Associate Producer Blundell's Baked Goods Jason Blundell - Director, Campaign & Zombies / Senior Executive Producer Schmidts G. Henry Schmitt - Game Designer Harsha's Hotel Ken Harsha - Art Director Harsha Cigerettte Ken Harsha - Art Director Zandi's Smoke Lounge Ali Zandi -- Level Designer Nesbits Cafe Justin Nesbit -- Level Designer Zazings ? Jade Coast Trading ? Hippos' Cafe ? JJ's Newsstand ? Goldfarb Fabrics David Goldfarb - (ex) Lead Designer for DICE This one is interesting as he is the only non-Treyarch Employee. A few disagreements between Treyarch (Call of Duty) & DICE (Battlefield) make for this Easter Egg... ================================= Boxing Photos The Heads on all of the Boxers photos are Treyarch Employees Wall (Left Half) Zach Gonzalez -- Associate Producer Ryan Higa -- Senior Engineer ? ? Henry Schmitt -- Game Designer Mike Anthony -- Senior Game Designer Wall (Right Half) Peter Livingstone -- Tech Lead of Zombies Evan Olson -- Senior Engineer Darwin Dumlao -- Senior Artist Mark Maestas -- Senior Game Designer Wade-Hahn Chan -- Game Designer Ji Hye Lee -- Associate Artist Old Time Radio Table ??? Ali Zandi -- Level Designer Justin Nesbit -- Level Designer Anthony Saunders -- Level Designer Telephone Table ? ? ================================= Boxing Posters Bryce Houska – Environment Artist VS Peter Livingstone – Tech Lead of Zombies Lee Souder – CG Artist Versus Anthony Saunders – Level Designer Justin Nesbit – Level Builder VS Ali Zandi – Level Designer/Artist ================================= BONUS ~ Mob of the Dead Characters Names Deluca Shipping Sal Deluca Al's Barber Shop Al "Weasel" Arlington O'Learys B&L Finn O'Leary ================================= I had about 6-8 Boxers named & the rest were named by an absolute accurate source. (Check the SOE: Zombies Library) Some of the shop names could be incorrect. If there are any that I missed or if you can fill in the gaps please do!

This update just seems to be stuff that wasn't finished when the game was shipped..... 3 years Treyarch! But you just needed an extra 2 months. (Fix the Bugs & Glitches before you add more content!) Also so heard that Theatre mode has been updated & Dolly Cam is back! BUT! Have they patched The Giant catwalk glitch? I am yet to play a co-op game where people don't go into the glitch at round 6....

Quoting this picture again because - THAT. IS. AWESOME!!! All of the Architecture is identical http://www.salzburg-burgen.at/en/werfen/erlebnisburg-hohenwerfen/geschichte.htm Look at the BELL TOWERS! I wonder what lurks down here? Oh, and it is also a Falconry Centre. Eagles Nest anyone? (even though Hilters "Eagles Nest" was in Germany) There was also a movie made there in 1968 titled "Where Eagles Dare" Hohenwerfen Castle Tours TO THE ICE CAVE BATMAN! Eisriesenwelt Werfen Ice Cave Tours All of those video tours are well worth watching. You get a good idea for what a map layout may be. Considering both of these places have tours, Treyarch have probably done a field excursion here -
Thankyou sooooooo much @SparkyMcsparks Have some hard earned BRAINS! That makes this thread 10 fold better now!!! I can't thankyou enough mate for commenting on my thread

I have heard that it can be translated to Iron Kite too, which can make sense. As I believe that the "Iron Dragon" or "Iron Kite" is referring to the Rocket shown in the promo picture. Rocket = Iron Dragon / Iron Kite
-
Kinda surprised that DLC1 has been announced when the game is only 1 month old. But thinking about it makes sense. Play Station had conference & this announcement is just pure Christmas marketing from Activision. Buy BO3 for Christmas & while your at it, why don't you buy the season pass that also includes all of these maps. Theres no point marketing something at the start of January, just after Christmas has passed. (Its going to be 3 months till this is available on Xbox!!!)
-
Der Eisendrachen = Iron Dragon. Iron Dragon = Rocket / Missile If that is a rocket in the top right corner you could assume it will be WW2 era, but also with all of its history unearthed. Here comes the Medieval Zombie Knights like on the SoE PaP wall. And going by the coordinates on the Scrap paper, looks like there will be an Ice Cave & "The Frozen One" will come into play. Also I can't help but think of 9 3 5 = I C E

The only reasons I can see the Junction (Stamin-Up) Grapple would be used for is if you were coming up the Subway Rift stairs as a shortcut. But in most cases you probably have activated the Crane power before you have opened the subway door but still, it could be used as a shortcut to do all the Subway & Junction things in one go. Same for the Footlight High street Grapple. It would be used if you were down in the ground near the newspaper stand to get to the upper level which could lead you around to the Producers Wig Box, the Perk Machine & power the stairs. Probably put there so that if you caught the train instead of coming through the Junction you can activate a of those things, though you have to open 2 gates on the upper level first to do this & it's quite a distance. I wasted so much time & Beast modes in my first games trying to figure out what I was meant to do with the Junction / Stamin-Up Grapple. Everything I just fell back down. I was like "WTF are the controls? Where am I meant to go to?" noob

This guy reckons he has got shadow of evil worked out.

Haha. That's awesome. "We're going to cross to Billy down on the ground" "Are you calm Billy?" "What about Billy? I don't know any Billy, never known a Billy my whole life" Thats a cool video. Laughed the whole time. -
Nice tip @jross cway hopefully this is accurate & caused from equipping the gumball. Even though it's mainly for the alternate ammo. How were the Perks obtained? On SoE or the Giant? were they as normal power up drops or after teleporting in the Giant? give us some more info.

I've only played the first 2 missions of campaign, so I haven't unlocked anything. @Tac bought the game purely for the Data Vault so maybe he can help out here & you can dissect this further

Code/Cipher Idea to Remember - Number to an Image
PINNAZ replied to yourmapper's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Haha. BRAINS @yourmapper I read this thread when you first posted it & didn't realize this was used in SoE! Awesome stuff mate -
I've been spamming The Giant since 2XP. I am at Prestige 2 level 25 (I think?) & have maxed out 3/4 of my weapon kit. Constant round 30's within an hour make for great XP. I think I maxed out the Dingo & some other Assault Rifles in a single game during 2XP. I really only enjoy playing a full game for an hour or 2, a map that I can get setup on quite quickly & then survive for as long as I can. I am no high round player at all, so a quick game is a fun game. (I played alot of Town in BO2 for this reason) I really got into Zombies in Shi No Numa, trying to get all the achievements there & then spent countless hours playing Der Riese trying to get the "Perk-a-holics Anonymous" Achievement (Survive to round 20 without perks). I am still using those same strategies as I did in 2009!!! Start at the ledge of Teleporter Z-B, drop off, circle the Power are then go to the Catwalk. Then Circle back around using the Traps. And I am still having fun after playing it countless times for 2 weeks solo!. I am really glad that The Giant is on Black Ops 3, as I know, if I want a quick game of Zombs & have fun, I can always fire up "DER RIESE"!!

"Nero Blackstone" & "Shadow Man" - Character Inspirations
PINNAZ replied to PINNAZ's topic in Shadows of Evil
Been meaning to post this for a while now. One of the first things I did when I first played SoE was try to figure out how to get to Nero's Landing, to get a good look the the poster I spotted in the Promo picture. To my surprise, it is not there and the room has been slightly changed since that promo pic. I was very disappointed as I thought they had completely removed Nero's surname due to copyright or defamation reasons and this poster would not exist at all. But, It is found within the Subway rift, still, the surname has been removed. But it is the same poster. Also found in the Footlight District around the Newspaper stand are copies of "Magician's Weekly", which have the name "Nero Blackstone" on the cover. (FINALLY - CONFIRMED!!!) This magazine cover is in the Prologue video but again, the cover is different & it just says "Nero's career up in smoke". Here are the Screenshots taken from in-game. -
I don't believe the easter egg is done yet...
PINNAZ replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in The Giant
My post didn't save so here it is in short. Treyach had had the opportunity the recreate (probably) the most iconic Zombies map, the first ever map to feature a multi step activation sequence & they don't expand on it for the remake 6 years later? There's got to be something more or Treyarch have made a massive mistake by not doing so. Treyarch had to tell us the first time that an EE even existed. Surely they have expanded & tried to out do themselves this time around? #TBT ~ "Elevate your Achievments" https://community.callofduty.com/community/call_of_duty/english/world_at_war/blog/2011/10/19/elevate-your-achievements Listen up! Mysterious reports keep pouring into our HQ and these new reports are bringing more then just new intel concerning our latest threats. Just when we started to wrap our heads around the idea of a zombie outbreak, we're now receiving reports of paranormal activity affecting our troops! While some of you soldiers may have witnessed something strange, we happen to know that there are still some secrets that have yet to be discovered within Der Riese. That Germen research facility from Hell holds a fair amount of riddles behind its walls, and we're thinking that they're just waiting to be solved. While it may be no secret that there is a hidden achievement to be gained within Der Riese, the exact procedures are still rather hazy for us generals on the sidelines. We've heard scattered reports and rumors of a machine known as the Fly Trap. Supposedly activating this Fly Trap device is connected to the coveted achievement. We're not sure how to activate it, but we did see one of our skilled snipers carrying the achievement, so maybe we should ask him. If you troops happen to be heading back to Der Riese for another go, please remember to keep your wits about you and rely on the strength of your teammates. We've lost too many good soldiers and I'm not talking about the ones who've become zombie chow. Our psych ward back at base is filled with G.I.s whose heads are filled with voices of little demons. They say that these tiny voices won't leave them alone. The voices are begging them for another game of Hide and Go Seek, whatever that means. Well there you go. We've told you troops what we know about Der Riese, so now it's your turn to share some stories. How has Der Riese been treating you since it opened its cursed doors? Have any wartime horror stories worth sharing? Sound off below. Vosty - One of the first people (if not the first) to "Activate the Flytrap"
