Argh not much gets past old Tac daddy. It's cool you found a newspaper article dated the same day that mentions the Devil Dogs. I'm not too concerned about timelines & dates anymore. @ Jason - I was wondering if it was a Teutonic Knight aswell. All the clues are there in Buried. A few of the books point towards Jacob Grimm. - Grimm's Fairy Tales - A Treatise on Law - Wheel of life - Philosophy, politics & poetry It's funny that this incorporates Giants among other things. This is part of my further theory on the possibility of the Norse myths being incorporated. There is the picture in Tranzit of Thor's hammer which I discounted as anything relevant. The garage at the Bus Depot has White Horses on the Logo. This was a reused texture from Black Ops, though in BO it was written in German & translated to "White Horse", possibly referring to Odins Horse. Is this the horse that the voice actor was trolling with before the game came out? I have been thinking that Agartha maybe "Asgard". We will see what happens. Can't wait for this cinematic.

I thought I'd share some of the things I've been looking at over the last week. The main structure that this thread is based on is obviously fictional. This is just some info on what it could be. No doubt, this side-quest will be monumental! Most of this is just wikipedia links, but if your interested I have highlighted many key words to search for. Think the game mechanics & features of buried were made to make it easier for people to rank up? I can make it to round 50 nearly every game (if I have the time) 5000-7000 kills to 1 or no downs makes you K/D a lot better. I know that there would be other factors, but to me it just seems that they made an easy map because so many people whinge about the ranking system.

That's kind of saying " there are only 4 or 5 Zombies in each map, the rest are reused textures?" The picture of the Pudong skyline shows that it's not 1960, but there are too many contradictions to be accurate. Round & round & round we go. No-one can prove a date

Though it's highly probable that the "Since 1996" just refers to Treyarch, there are many other things that point towards the date of the map being played at least after the year 2000. Firstly - Jin Mao Tower http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jin_Mao_Tower Construction started - 1994 Completed - 1999 Along with the Oriental Pearl Tower, it is part of the Pudong skyline. Its height was surpassed on September 14, 2007 by the Shanghai World Financial Center which is next to the building. The Shanghai Tower, a 128-story building located next to these two buildings and now under construction, will be even taller. In-Game Image - Notice where the light is shining on the right, that is the Jin Mao Tower, next to the Shanghai World Financial Center. The Oriental Pearl Tower is also shown. There are soldiers wearing the SDC uniforms, the hi-tech fridge & more than likely the name "Great Leap Forward". There is probably a few other things aswell. You can go around in circles forever trying to pinpoint a map date, I think it's impossible & I think it's part of the story. Everything is mixed & merged together. There are serious issues with the zombies timeline. The only date I would take for canon is Verruckt, because it states the date when you start the game.

These are the Lightning strikes that I'm talking about. You can see them on the 1st & 4th pictures of my original post. Also to note, if you zoom in on the DLC Card, you can see that the energy beam is going into the center of the Megalith formation. These are the ancient ruins where sh*t will go down.

This concept art shows the ancient ruins. Megaliths of Brittany It seems to be a Megalith formation. From what I have read, Brittany, France, contains the most Megaliths in the world. Their Alignment seems to have a lot to do with wind flows & are located near coastlines. They also have relation to the "Tower of Babel" & "The Great Flood". (Brittany may not be the actual location of the map though) Oh & did I mention "GIANTS?" Sorry of this is a little off topic. I haven't seen anyone mention that the 4 characters are all in the same uniform. Why would 4 people from 4 different countries all be wearing the same military uniform? Hopefully that explanation will be included if there is a opening cinematic.

@ Kered - I've been watching a lot of World War 1 film & the imagery is truly devastating. The guy on that clip sums it up completely "I think this will change alot of people's perceptions of the first world war" @ Briggzy - I have rewatched the trailer a lot of times & you are probably right, in real time it doesn't look like they disappear, though I was taking lots of frame captures & with the ones I posted, it looks like they just vanish? It may just be the lighting, I was pretty drunk the first time I watched the trailer, maybe I was just seeing things Though it seems that when the lightning strikes down to the ground, that these strikes are coming from the Airships? It will be interesting if the Biplanes, Airships & Electrical strikes have any gameplay impact or if they are just included for atmosphere? Another thing I would like to know is if they are German or French Planes & Airships? Are they on our side or are they on the Giants? Thanks for the replies

In the Origins trailer we see in the background of various clips, images of some type of Airship. I'm not too sure if this would be French or German? Or if this would have any gameplay involvement?
