What is strange is that 3arc have given the playable characters fictional names, unlike in Call of the Dead. As I said in the other thread, this may because of some legal issues playing as real life criminals? Rather than introduce 4 new characters, 3arc use iconic mobster/gangster movie stars for the simple 'wow' factor. On topic of the time/era of the map, one thing could be whether the Warden's headquarters are destroyed or not. The building was destroyed during the Native occupation of Alcatraz. Alcatraz Warden's House http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warden's_House_(Alcatraz_Island) The Warden's House was the home of the wardens of the state penitentiary on Alcatraz Island, off San Francisco. It is located at the northeastern end of the Main Cellblock, next to Alcatraz Lighthouse. The 3-floor 15-room mansion was built in 1921 according to the Golden Gate National Recreational Area signpost, although some sources say it was built in 1926 or 1929 and had 17 or 18 rooms. Today the house is a ruin, burned down during the AIM (American Indian Movement) Occupation of Alcatraz on June 1, 1970. Like many sites on the island, the house is reputed to be haunted.[4] Several guards reported seeing the spectre of a man with mutton-chop sideburns during a party wearing a gray suit and brimmed cap, leaving the room icy cold and extinguishing the fire in the Ben Franklin stove. But more likely it will be part fiction & there will be contradictions like every other map.

By the name "Rock", I was more thinking like this. Trust you & your dirty mind Flammen. Also, The 'Occupation of Alcatraz' happened in 1969. Green Run Project - 1949 Great Leap Forward - 1958ish The last 2 maps/chapter names have been historical events. What other name could it be? I'm wrong on most occations, ask my wife.

"Right of Discovery"? "Devil's Island"? Occupation of Alcatraz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupation_of_Alcatraz Beginning on November 20, 1969, a group of Native Americans called United Indians of All Tribes, mostly college students from San Francisco, occupied the island to protest federal policies related to American Indians. Some of them were children of Indians who had resettled in the city as part of an urbanization program encouraged by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) from the 1930s to the 1950s. The BIA hoped to give Indians new opportunities in the cities, as many Indian reservations were isolated from job markets. The occupiers, who stayed on the island for nearly two years, demanded the island's facilities be adapted and new structures built for an Indian education center, ecology center and cultural center. The American Indians claimed the island by provisions of the Treaty of Fort Laramie (1868) between the U.S. and the Sioux; they said the treaty promised to return all retired, abandoned or out-of-use federal lands to the Native peoples from whom it was acquired. (Note: The Treaty of 1868 stated that all abandoned or unused federal land adjacent to the Great Sioux Reservation could be reclaimed by descendants of the Sioux Nation.) Indians of All Tribes then claimed Alcatraz Island by the "Right of Discovery", as indigenous peoples knew it thousands of years before any Europeans had come to North America. Begun by urban Indians of San Francisco, the occupation attracted other Native Americans from across the country, including American Indian Movement (AIM) urban activists from Minneapolis. IDK? I hope they don't call it "The Rock"

Sorry, I'm late to the party, but I've literally been in TranZit. So we have Movie stars that do the voice overs & the playable characters are modelled on them aswell, yet 3Arc have given them "fictional names". I think this may be because of legal issues having criminals as playable characters? There's something strange going on yet again, but it may have something to do with this? I doubt this is a 'Call of the Dead" style movie & I'm unsure at which time this would be set. It could be a time setting prior to Shi No Numa & Der Riese. A cool real-life mystery to tie in the mobsters would be the story of the 3 (4) inmates that have never been accounted for. The legend of - "Escape from Alcatraz". Perhaps when these guys were escaping, the full outbreak occurred & here we find our new characters? (but that was in 1962) "Escape from Alcatraz" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_1962_Alcatraz_escape I guess we will learn some more after the next reveal & it's only 2 weeks away from release. "Devil's Island" or "Right of Discovery" anyone? Ray Liotta is "Billy Handsome" Joe Pantoliano is "Al 'The Weasel' Arlington" Chazz Palmentiri is "Salvatore 'Sal' DeLuca" Michael Madsen is "Michael 'Finn' O'Leary" Look at the background of the screenshot I posted of Joe Pantoliano. I imagine that would be the red room you see from the aerial shot. Some type of ritual indeed. Not only the skull on the table surrounded by candles reminded me of the Shangri-La Shrine, but also all the bodies wrapped up. They are everywhere in Mob of the Dead. Someone likes their scented candles?

Great analysis Flammen Read this Webpage. The Thompson Sub-Machine Gun http://www.vincelewis.net/tommygun.html The first Tommy gun to see military use was the Model 1928, used by the US navy during its expedition in Nicaragua. Called the "Navy" model 1928, it was fitted with a heavier bolt to bring the rate of fire down to six hundred rounds per minute. With the start of World War Two, the U.S Army procured a large number of these Navy Tommy Guns, and marked them as U.S Model 1928A1. The British commando's, paratroopers and many infantry outfits were equipped with the Tommy Gun, and it was issued with several thirty round box magazines as the drum magazines were too bulky for an infantryman to a carry. Below is the M1A1 Thompson submachine gun, with the cocking lever now situated on the right-hand side of the receiver. This was the most popular model and was used extensively by the Marines, U.S Army and Commandos in World War Two. -
I hope thats a PPSH!!!!! Tommygun?

Good Stuff! The former Asylum has a total of nearly 3 pages & this asylum has many in only 5 months. Is it possible for someone to go through the topics in here & move the ones that aren't up to scratch to the Story Discussion section. Speaking of this, could the Story Discussion be moved to the front page (above the Asylum) as a forum which is noticeable for users that just want to ask questions or post ideas that aren't Asylum posts? This makes the general section a lot less cluttered too. Is it also possible to have the 'Map Speculation' topics in here moved to the "Future Zombies" section? Although some are of high quality, they don't really belong in here. I hope there is some action on this & i look forward to some great threads bring created in here. Thanks again.

I was going to add this part to my OP, but I think I'll just post it here unless something comes of it. There's probably more, but anyway.... Vietnamese Festivals & Events Ghost Festival - Tết Trung Nguyên http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Festival This festival is viewed as the time for the pardoning of condemned souls who are then released from hell. The Ghost Festival, also known as the Hungry Ghost Festival, or Yu Lan is a traditional Chinese festival and holiday celebrated by Chinese in many countries. In the Chinese calendar (a lunisolar calendar), the Ghost Festival is on the 15th night of the seventh lunar month (14th in southern China). In Chinese tradition, the fifteenth day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar is called Ghost Day and the seventh month in general is regarded as the Ghost Month (鬼月), in which ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm. Distinct from both the Qingming Festival (in spring) and Chung Yeung Festival (in autumn) in which living descendants pay homage to their deceased ancestors, on Ghost Day, the deceased are believed to visit the living. On the fifteenth day the realms of Heaven and Hell and the realm of the living are open and both Taoists and Buddhists would perform rituals to transmute and absolve the sufferings of the deceased. Intrinsic to the Ghost Month is ancestor worship, where traditionally the filial piety of descendants extends to their ancestors even after their deaths. Activities during the month would include preparing ritualistic food offerings, burning incense, and burning joss paper, a papier-mâché form of material items such as clothes, gold and other fine goods for the visiting spirits of the ancestors. Elaborate meals (often vegetarian meals) would be served with empty seats for each of the deceased in the family treating the deceased as if they are still living. Ancestor worship is what distinguishes Qingming Festival from Ghost Festival because the latter includes paying respects to all deceased, including the same and younger generations, while the former only includes older generations. Other festivities may include, buying and releasing miniature paper boats and lanterns on water, which signifies giving directions to the lost ghosts and spirits of the ancestors and other deities. This festival is viewed as the time for the pardoning of condemned souls who are then released from hell. The "homeless" should be "fed" and appeased with offerings of food. Merits for the living are also earned by the release of birds and fish. The lunar month in which the festival takes place is colloquially known as Tháng Cô Hồn - The month of lonely spirits, and believed to be haunted and particularly unlucky. Influenced by Buddhism, this holiday coincides with Vu Lan, the Vietnamese transliteration for Ullambana. In modern times, Vu Lan is also seen as Mother's Day. People with living mothers would bear a red rose and would give thanks while those without, who can choose to bear a white rose; and attend services to pray for the deceased. Mid-Autumn/Moon Festival - Tết Trung Thu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Autumn_Festival The Mid-Autumn festival is named "Tết Trung Thu" in Vietnamese. It is also known as Children's Festival because of the event's emphasis on children. In olden times, the Vietnamese believed that children, being innocent and pure, had the closest connection to the sacred and natural world. Being close to children was seen as a way to connect with animist spirits and deities. The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, during a full moon, which is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar, close to the autumnal equinox. Offerings are also made to a more well-known lunar deity, Chang'e, known as the Moon Goddess of Immortality. The myths associated with Chang'e explain the origin of moon worship during this day. One version of the story is as follows, as described in Lihui Yang's Handbook of Chinese Mythology: After the hero Houyi shot down nine of the ten suns, he was pronounced king by the thankful people. However, he soon became a conceited and tyrannical ruler. In order to live long without death, he asked for the elixir from Xiwangmu. But his wife, Chang'e, stole it on the fifteenth of August because she did not want the cruel king to live long and hurt more people. She took the magic potion to prevent her husband from becoming immortal. Houyi was so angry when discovered that Chang'e took the elixir, he shot at his wife as she flew toward the moon, though he missed. Chang'e fled to the moon and became the spirit of the moon. Houyi died soon because he was overcome with great anger. Thereafter, people offer a sacrifice to Chang'e on every lunar fifteenth of August to commemorate Chang'e's action. Aside from the story of Chang'e, there are two other popular folktales associated with the festival. The first describes the legend of Cuội, whose wife accidentally urinated on a sacred banyan tree. The tree began to float towards the moon, and Cuội, trying to pull it back down to earth, floated to the moon with it, leaving him stranded there. Every year, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, children light lanterns and participate in a procession to show Cuội the way back to Earth. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also known by other names, such as: • Moon Festival, because of the celebration's association with the full moon on this night, as well as the traditions of moon worship and moon gazing. • Children's Festival, in Vietnam, because of the emphasis on the celebration of children. ======================================== Thich Quang Duc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thich_Quang_Duc Thich Quang Duc (English pronunciation: i/ˌtɪtʃ ˌkwɒŋ ˈdʊk/ tich kwong duuk; 1897 – 11 June 1963, born Lam Van Tuc), was a Vietnamese Mahayana Buddhist monk who burned himself to death at a busy Saigon road intersection on 11 June 1963. Quang Duc was protesting about the persecution of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese government led by Ngo Dinh Diem. Photos of his self-immolation were circulated widely across the world and brought attention to the policies of the Diệm government. Malcolm Browne won a Pulitzer Prize for his renowned photograph of the monk's death. After his death, his body was re-cremated, but his heart remained intact. Quang Duc's act increased international pressure on Diệm and led him to announce reforms with the intention of mollifying the Buddhists. However, the promised reforms were not implemented, leading to a deterioration in the dispute. With protests continuing, the ARVN Special Forces loyal to Diệm's brother, Ngo Dinh Nhu, launched nationwide raids on Buddhist pagodas, seizing Quang Duc's heart and causing deaths and widespread damage. Several Buddhist monks followed Quang Duc's example, also immolating themselves. Eventually, an Army coup toppled Diệm, who was assassinated on 2 November 1963. Further Reading - The Buddhist Crisis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_crisis The Buddhist crisis was a period of political and religious tension in South Vietnam between May and November 1963, characterized by a series of repressive acts by the South Vietnamese government and a campaign of civil resistance, led mainly by Buddhist monks. The crisis was precipitated by the shootings of nine unarmed civilians on May 8 in the central city of Huế who were protesting a ban of the Buddhist flag. The crisis ended with a coup in November 1963 by the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, and the arrest and assassination of President Ngô Đình Diệm on November 2, 1963. Rage Against The Machine (Self-Titled Album Cover) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rage_Against_the_Machine The album's cover featured Malcolm Browne's Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph of Thich Quang Duc, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, burning himself to death in Saigon in 1963 in protest of the murder of Buddhists by the US-backed Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem's regime. The Tunguska Event - A Map, Finally?
PINNAZ replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Research & Development
Running trains in the destroyed forest would be pretty cool. Getting chased by "Drop Bears" First of all, welcome to CoDz. It's great that you found that info yourself. Top marks. Second, Tesla's not just a guy. Look deeper into his history. Are you using Wi-Fi Internet? And the YouTube videos talking about a BO2 wonder weapon being called a Tesla Gun have it totally wrong. The Wonderwaffe DG-2 is called the tesla_gun in the games coding. It first appeared in World at War's Shi No Numa. @ Electric Jesus - Actually, CarbonFibah wrote about Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower causing the Tunguska event in his first theory the smarty pants. http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?7423-Carbon-s-First-Theory-6-17-2009 -
There is a sixth orange dot in the centre of the Der Riese moon, you can kind of see it in my screenshot. That was taken with no-clip & it's a lot clearer ingame obviously. My cap card is not the greatest..... I like your link with the Wu Xing too. It may prove to have some credibility.

I'm sure there is also another medical type sign/advertisement in the room behind the tramplesteam table. I'm overseas ATM so I can look or get a screenshot for you. You might want to check that out too.

Great link Eternal. I think I read this thread when you first posted it but for some reason never commented. I had one of those Nokia ???? Can't remember what model it was? Haha. What a bucket of rubbish compared to the smartphones of today. Nearly everything I post on CoDz is from my phone. I'm actually writing this in a secluded resort in Thailand. Argh technology. Argh the foresight of Nicola Tesla! Back on topic. MixMasterNut wrote this great post about how COD Zombies is the new Pacman. I can't find his post, but it was great. Everything is nearly identical aswell. Brains for the Snake game relation Eternal.... Edit - Just realised the post above Way was a spambot from Australia. Probably bumped this thread.

Great thread Shooter, & great discussion all. I have only just realised that the 2 Fu Dogs are both 'Male'. The male dog holds the ball under the right foot, the female holds the pup under the left. I had never really looked into the 'Balls/Orbs/Pearls' until you posted this. So when I had a little look.....I opened up a can of worms! I hope i don't go too far off topic here. So many things to discuss, but not enough free wi-fi time. I'm currently in South-East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand) & have taken great interest in the Fu Lions aswell as the relationship between the Dragons holding the balls) Die Rise Side Quest Ball My Pictures of Fu Dogs Balls 8-) Flower of Life This link has things from ancient alphabets to Freemasons & Templars, all based on the Flower of Life http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_sage1.htm The complete flower of life does have another use. If you overlay a map (after getting the correct scale) with the complete flower of life, all sacred sites, standing stones etc, will sit at the centre of six points. Dragons http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Chinese_dragon The Dragon & the Pearl Document http://www.thunderbolts.info/tpod/2007/arch07/070628dragonpearl.htm Notice that the Pearl from the left claw/leg/arm of the dragon is missing. Nine Dragon Wall http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine-Dragon_Wall Dragons on Roof Dragons on roof of Taiwan Confucian Temple http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan_Confucian_Temple I also read somewhere (I can't find the article) that Confucious wrote about the flower of life & Tree of life. That maybe worth looking into. Dragon Lore PDF http://whisperingwood.homestead.com/Dragon_Lore_course.pdf Exerts- The giant red dragon of the Apocalypse (Rev. 12) gave rise to the use of the beast as symbolic of Satan in Christian art and literature. Apocalyptic beast: {Biblical - Most likely Middle East} A creature mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Bible. It has two horns, speaks like a dragon, and bears the mystical number of the devil. According to Chinese mythology, a dragon has to spend 1000 years under the sea, 1000 years in the mountains and 1000 years among men before turning into a real dragon. Before that he is a small serpent prisoner of a stone, called a “serpent’s egg”. After 3000 years, the dragon escapes and take his adult form, the stone was known to spill a magic liquid called “inky blood”. The dragon is considered to be a mythological animal of Chinese origin, and a member of the NAGA (Sanskrit) family of serpentine creatures who protected Buddhism. Korean Dragon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_dragon As with Chinese dragons, the number nine is significant with Korean dragons and they are said to have 81 (9x9) scales on their backs. However, the dragons often appeared without wings and occasionally a dragon may be depicted as carrying a "dragon orb" known as the Yeo-ui-ju in one or more of its claws. It was said that whoever could wield the Yeo-ui-ju was blessed with the abilities of omnipotence and creation at will, and that only four-toed dragons (those which had thumbs to hold the orbs) were both wise and powerful enough to wield these orbs (as opposed to the lesser, three-toed dragons). The dragon in Korea was often more of a spiritual symbol, living in mystical palaces beyond the physical realm, representing the power of the soul. It was only later, with the influence of Chinese culture, that the dragon came to be connected with the Emperor, who himself was associated with rain and agriculture. (The Orb in the mouth may also related to other Dragon origins, I haven't looked into it enough) Bonus for MixMasterNut! Dragons in other Cultures - Mayan and Aztec: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiuhtecuhtli The Mayan "Kukulkan", later the Aztec "Quetzalcoatl", was both good and evil, and it was thought to rule the four parts of the Earth. The greatest god of the Aztecs was "Xiuhtecuhtli" who took on many manifestations, one of which being the fire serpent. There are parallels with the Chinese myths in that Quetzalcoatl is described as being able to take the form of the Sun and is depicted as being swallowed by the Earth serpent thus causing an eclipse. There's so much I could include but don't have the time right now. Sorry to talk about Dragons so much & sorry for the messy post. Seeya all.

I don't quite understand your link here. So the sign with the really small writing on Die Rise (which you have been trying to figure out) translates to those 3 words? How did you come to the link of Missoula? Does the description just sound like TranZit? Also, Mount Whether is a location that the Bus Driver mentions. Sorry, I'm just a little lost on your link?

You taking the piss Mix? The pictures below are taken from Rissole's Nuketown Loading Screen thread (page 2) http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=25002 At the start of the game, all Perks are already assigned their spawning position. When the game starts, the perks fly back up into the (top of the 'stem') mushroom cloud. This may just be some programming mechanic? But MMX could probably write something creative to include this in the story. What I like to think is that, Nevada had endless resources of Element 115 underground & the government (or whoever) were mining/excavating it by 'underground detonations' (like the 'Sedan' test). When the nuke was detonated, it caused 115 to be released into air (along with the perk machines to be sucked into the mushroom) more zombies were created aswell as activating the perk machines ready to be drunk by our fighters.

Was this 'Moon' a big, bright white light? Underneath/below the map? If so, this lighting is on every map. I don't know anything about game programming, but I think it has something to do with the actual games lighting effects.
