  1. It was Chinese New Year in Die Rise. Sure, not the same date, but the same significance. There are no smoking sings in nearly every Zombie map. I've always thought that was strange.
  2. Hello Codz. This is just a fun thread I thought I should share. There has been some speculation as to who Brutus actually is? - Is Brutus really the guard Ferguson? - Is Brutus the controller? - Is Brutus the Warden? Well, I think I figured out who Brutus really is..... It has alot to do with Brian Tuey. For those that don't know who Brian Tuey is, he is Treyarch's Audio Director & he has been responsible for most of the awesome sounds that have gone into every Zombie Map, from the easter egg songs to the creepy sounds you've heard in any corner of any map. He is a legend of the Call of Duty: Zombies game. Anyway, on topic. Brutus is really Brian Tuey's Dog:- Brutus, "a giant pit-bull that clocks in at about 90 pounds" Brutus has been used for his sounds & speech abilities since at-least World at War & is probably responsible for alot of the Hellhound sounds. Taken from the World at War Intel Blog around the time of Shi No Numa http://community.callofduty.com/community/call_of_duty/english/worldatwar/blog/2011/10/17/developer-focus-brian-tuey-audio-director So when Mob of the Dead was released & we were introduced to the character named "Brutus", I sent a twitter message to Brian asking if his dog is still used in the game. Though it doesn't confirm anything, I think this is where the name Brutus comes from. As I said, this is just a fun thread. 8-) I wasn't going to post this but anyway, here is a Twitter post in which I received a reply. (I hope you don't mind Brian....) Though that was as far as the conversation went, he did 'Favourite' the 2nd one. Brian Tuey, your an absolute Legend of COD: Zombies & so is your dog Brutus. Much respect my friend.
  3. Great thread Bagel. Lots of info & effort you put into this. I've come to the realisation that defining an actual date is pointless as there are too many contradictions & inaccuracies across nearly every map starting with the HARRP note found in Shi No Numa. Another note found in Kino der Toten & FIVE also have a date of 1975. And don't even start with the gun dates. If you look closely on the side of the Tommygun in MotD, there are about 6 or 7 patent dates (I can't remember exactly) 1945, 1973, 1992? plus more, which is very strange. Sorry for no screenshot. When (& if) the story is finished, I think it all has to do with Die Glocke & Time Travel (as such). The Zombie story is all about this device known as "The Bell" In the Black Ops 1 campaign intel "Project Nova", there is a paragraph which states:- "Analysis of the rumoured Die Glocke device to be anything from an anti-gravity propulsion system to a time machine. A statement from Agency case officer Chase Retilund? Details his interrogation of a low-level research assistant who claimed he saw a "mirrored device that allowed the viewing of images from the past." The subject of interrogation died of unknown causes shortly after providing his statement." "mirrored device that allowed the viewing of images from the past." - This is what I believe is the key to the storyline & may explain all of the inconsistencies of dates/timeline. I think that the events have occured & we are re-enacting them at a later time. We are viewing images from the past.
  4. the an94 wants to have a word with you... So does the PPSH!!! (if it was a wall weapon)
  5. Great work making these videos already. Brains to you Liam.
  6. Welcome back to CoDz mate. You sure have strong will power for no spoilers. I'm sure you'll enjoy this map pack. Hope to see some awesome posts from you again soon. Enjoy your Slay!!
  7. This interview was added to the news feed on COD Elite today. I thought people might be interested in it if they don't go on the elite site. The link is below & the interview is in the spoiler box. Exclusive Mob of the Dead Interview Treyarch’s Executive Producer Jason Blundell MAY 16, 2013 https://elite.callofduty.com/news/xbox/418
  8. Congrats to you MMX. I've done that a fair few times myself. Spend ages getting setup, only to fall down that stupid hell hole in the Power room. You now have the MofD soundtrack!! Great comp Podcast Crew. I wish I had the time to enter. This is another great initiative from you guys.
  9. Another solid observation & topic Mr Titan. You sure are wearing those Cyan robes well this month. The songs do tell so much about the story & with any art it can be interpreted in many ways. It's good to read your perspective & relating each song or lyric to different characters. The change in Richtofen's character is interesting through the Radio Transmissions. Well pointed out ther mate. I like how you bring up Full Metal Alchemist. The plot sure does have a lot of similarities to the zombie story. Though I don't know much about the manga series or movie, there is a spin-off which talks about Shangri-la aswell isn't there? The MotD Pach-a-punch Camo also looks like some of the symbols from that series. MixMasterNut brought up the point that it looks like 'Alchemy Transmutaion Circles. With the PC version being released today we shall get a good look at the PaP textures. Transmutation circles are what alchemists use to perform alchemy (I don't know the meaning of different colours?) some links about FMA - http://www.personal.psu.edu/crm228/essay2.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fullmetal_Alchemist Edward and Alphonse Elric are two alchemist brothers searching for the legendary catalyst called the Philosopher's Stone, a powerful object which would allow them to recover their bodies (which were lost in an attempt to bring their mother back to life through alchemy). After their mother's death, Edward became determined to bring her back through the use of alchemy, an advanced science in which objects can be created from raw materials. They researched Human Transmutation, a forbidden art in which one attempts to create or modify a human being. Sorry if this is too far off topic. Keep em coming' Fated!
  10. Thanks GRILL. My first "Hot & Stickied topic" Mega Über props to Killallzombies. This should be his thread. Thanks again.
  11. Since the Die Rise forum is coming to a halt, I'm bumping this back onto the front page unless someone has an issue with that? This is my 1100th post. ;)
  12. Bloody Brains Shooter. Man I love your stories & summaries. I haven't looked into all the dates & details for Motd, so I thank you for putting them in one beautifully written thread. I shall be using this thread many times over the next couple of weeks as I work on a project of my own. Great work again mate & thanks for spending the time writing this. I will have a few re-reads of this.
  13. @ Kered You might be interested in the thread below. It is a strange glitch that happened on Mob of the Dead. Kind of similar. There is also a comment of the same type of thing happening in Die Rise. Keep up the good work mate. I commend you for all of your testing. http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=149&t=32050
  14. Brains you Rissole! You having a PS3 sure helps the forum while you wait for DLC. This may relate only to MotD, but my first thought were along the same lines as GRILL. When the TranZit Nav Card is finally accepted, I wonder if something happens to the Nacht Der Untoten building? Both the Spire/Obelisk & the building are in the Corn Maze. There has to be more behind that. Great work again Rissole!!!
  15. Mmm, this just seems like the Der Riese Pack-a-Punch 3 gun glitch all over again. In WaW Der Riese, you put your gun in the PaP then buy a weapon, you then select bouncing betties just as you take your gun from the PaP & Wallah! You have 3 guns. It's the same type of action/button sequence, it's nearly identical. Instead of the PaP it is the fridge. Treyarch have put a punishment hotfix to stop it. You now loose your points & your guns. EDIT - video added to show the similarities. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiivWYstqmc
  16. Good post Bagel, Thankyou. All the quotes will be available soon
  17. Though the image that shows up through the sniper scope may not be anything related, I remembered reading this thread. Reznov in Zombies? Reznov lost his index finger in World at War & on the WaW Der Riese loading screen there is an index finger. However, the finger is not present on the Black ops version. I can't remember exactly how & when Reznov lost his finger, maybe this is just coincidence or, was Reznov part at the "Battle of Der Riese"? We all Should know that one of his missions/goals was to kill Steiner & he is definitely involved in Zombies. PS - I'd still like to know how & why Woods got the "115" Tattoo on his arm. Just something to keep in mind.
  18. Great post McGRILL! The "Bags under the eyes" look very similar.....
  19. Paper Machet Guru - probably a reference to the most famous escape attempt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_1962_Alcatraz_escape By September 1961 Morris, West, and the Anglin brothers were planning an escape attempt, which they carried out on the night of June 11, 1962. They fabricated dummy heads from a mixture of soap, toilet paper and real hair, and left them in their beds to fool prison officers making night-time inspections. They escaped from their cells by crawling through holes in the cell walls which they had dug with spoons over a year's time. This put them into an unused service corridor. West could not make it out of his cell and was left behind. (Look familiar? You go down this corridor in afterlife to open the Shower/laundry door. They used spoons to dig holes through their cell walls!) From the service corridor they climbed a ventilation shaft to reach the roof. The trio then climbed down from the rooftop, scaled the prison's fence and assembled a raft from the prison's standard-issue raincoats and contact cement. They pumped up the raft on the northeastern coast of the island. At around 10 p.m. they climbed aboard, shoved off, and started paddling.
  20. Hopefully there will be some tie in between the Kino wall writing "Abigail" & why Misty's middle name (as such) is Abigail. I'm sure Misty is somehow linked to the original characters including Maxis & Samantha for this reason.
  21. Yeh that's why I included that particular shot. The blood stain goes from the shed to the fenced off area (or vise-a-versa) there is a big pool of blood at the shed door that you can't really see in that picture. It's strange that the area is fenced off & covered with bodies inside. When I saw the title if the thread I thought your onto something. I still think its an interesting scene. Especially with the blood 'drag' marks between the two points. Still an interesting observation Bobby.

  23. I assume your talking about this square fenced of area next to the lamp? If so, it's unfortunately not the Weasel. There are 4 or 5 bodies wrapped up in there & what looks like his hat is actually a leather type of bag over the bodies head. I can see how it would of looked like his hat if you saw this in game though. (sorry about the crappy screenshots, I'm on my phone)
  24. 1. So you can get 'Power-up Drops' on the bridge when you use the 'Redeemer'? Is that only from Brutus? 2. How long does the Acid Trap spray for? 3. How long does it take to recharge? 4. Where do you start your rounds? 5. What are your escape routes or alternate routes, both in the cafè & in the Cell block? 6. What are the other areas you train before the cafe? 7. What were your round times - 20, 50, 80, 100? I might think of some more. Thanks Perfect
  25. Your a Beast Perfect! You even trolled me with the video. I was waiting for it to change to Round 1.1.5. & you .......... I would like you to list your early strategy in getting setup & at what round you obtain different Perks & Weapons etc. And at what round/time do you start your Acid Trap strategy Can't wait to see your full guide. Thanks again.
