All other stats count though, so it is considered boosting. Still, I could not care less whether people choose to boost their stats... it's their choice. People who have shotguns online through boosting are the guys who will leave a lobby straight away when other shotgunners show up, or will quit out a game instantly as soon as they go down. All I care about is rounds, and when I find a glitcher on my friends list I just remove them instantly... no matter who they are or how long I have known them. I like my leaderboards to be competitive.

Best Bo2 Zombies Map and Why
DeathBringerZen replied to chosenone's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Mob of the Dead for me. It has the best atmosphere, a great layout and some very nice features included. The lack of Stamina Up on the map and the very odd choice of perks included did kill it somewhat though. Origins would have definitely have been my first choice if the map was not so damn broken. -
He can be describes as an antagonist through his acts in-game, but regardless of this, he is still a main character in the game, possibly thee main character, so that classes his as a protagonist no matter how you choose to look at it. His actions are also not his own, seeing as his madness stems from his prolonged exposure to element 115. He is seen as a normal enough person in Origins, and over time his work with 115 and then touching the MPD saw his mind warped. I also still feel his actions were those of a lesser evil than Maxis' were (so far anyway...). Either way, I see your point, but there is no denying he does fit in line with the description of 'protagonist'.

protagonist prəˈtag(ə)nɪst/ noun noun: protagonist; plural noun: protagonists 1. the leading character or one of the major characters in a play, film, novel, etc. I think Richtofen is covered under this description. He was thee leading man throughout Black Ops 1, as was proved at the end of BO1 and when BO2 came in to play and Dempsey, Takeo & Nikolai where all but abandoned. He was also a major part of the BO2 storyline, though I agree he became more of an antagonist in that game. Still... 2 games out of 3 sways him over to being an protagonist as opposed to an antagonist, does it not?
-
@MMX - I would consider Richtofen to be the protagonist, yes. He was percieved as an evil genius trying to gain ultimate power, but he wanted a world to rule over. Maxis however could easily be seen as the antagonist. He destoyed the world for his own gain without care. He is the villian in my eyes. I have always felt that Maxis was the greater of two evils in this tale. Maybe he was not the bad guy originally throught the story we were fed in the radio messages, but he turned out to be the greater of two evils in the end. Richtofen was definitely out protagonist throughout the early part of the games storyline.
-
@Boom - If they actually went with artificial insemination of Eddies character in the next game, I would officially give up on that games storyline straight away and just go back to playing the game to kill zombies and nothing more. I would like to think that it would guaranteed be NOT the case, but the way Black Ops 2's storyline turned out, I am not ruling out anything, but I am willing to bet that there is little (1%), to no chance (0%) of Eddie being the gay protagonist Edward Richtofen's son, biological or not. It seems pretty obvious he is actually Richtofen, or the inspiration for his character.
-
I think it video game land, when you see a character being portrayed as a homosexual, then you should rule out real life scenarios of gay men actually still baring children. There is more than enough quotes in-game that confirm 100% that Richtofen was definitely a homosexual male. There is 0% chance that Eddie in the cutscene is Richtofen's son. It's just a complete non-starter. He would have definitely have mentioned him at least once during all of his quotes across some 10+ maps.

I have played Die Rise quite a bit lately trying to work out the fastest solo strategies and I have not noticed any difference with them myself. I honestly don't think they patched ANYTHING zombie related in the most recent update.

The 'right' way to play zombies
DeathBringerZen replied to Chopper's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Well, I like to play both methods, that way I balance out the fun side of playing with the serious side of attempting high rounds. Take Origins for example... I am currently trying to work out the very best method to get through rounds fast and I found it by keeping the door to Gen 3 from Gen 1 closed, and also the door leading into Gen 3 at the semtex area, with the gramophone at the fire tunnel, essentially locking myself/ourselves in that one area. Got to 79 solo doing pretty much just that one strat in 5 hours (inc the EE and obtaining my 4 additional perks slots). Would have went further but died trying to get an ammo going round on the tank. Same strat got us to 62 co-op on a terrible connection in 4 hours. I have a lot of fun trying to work out these fast strategies, even though it IS a grind like you say. I save fun games for 4 player matches. They are a chore to chase high rounds on, so I just relax when playing these games and just try to have fun. Maybe do an EE or just use the game to chat with people. -
Long theory about Nuketown and Broken Arrow
DeathBringerZen replied to Cheesegrater28's topic in Nuketown
Yeah, I have not seen Lukey post in a while. He really dug deep into Die Rise. Dedicated his time to that one map and drew some interesting conclusions from the character quotes regarding Broken Arrow. You have managed to put together a much more in-depth version of the events thought, and it is definitely the most plausable one I have read. Good job man. -
Long theory about Nuketown and Broken Arrow

Great read Cheese, and I agree, it is a very solid theory. Best one I have seen yet for explaining Broken Arrow and the purpose of Nuketown. +1 -
Named and shamed - The Glitchers
DeathBringerZen replied to Hells Warrrior's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I have used the Moon pad glitch in the past, and even learned a handful of other glitches in BO1, but I have never EVER used a glitch to boost or get high rounds. My hate for glitchers steams from having so many games ruined by them in the past, and also seeing maps end up with brokem features like the tank because of glitchers. -
I would hardly say that is a valid comparison. It would more be the case that it is not related to the main storyline, which it possibly isn't. Still, the same Green has been found in Origins now as seen in Boom's picture above, so I stand corrected.
-
I stand corrected. Guess you just have to look hard enough for their inspiration. lol.

Named and shamed - The Glitchers
DeathBringerZen replied to Hells Warrrior's topic in General Zombies Discussion
As much as I hate glitcher's myself (and God only knows how much I hate those damn glitcher's!!!), I think MMX is 100% right here. Naming and shaming does NOTHING! If anything it gives them a platform to work on, but at worst, it see's a few people avoid them completely. At the end of the day, I hate glitchers! More so than probably ANYONE on this scene. I have actively spent hours searching for them just to ruin their games, and it eventually wore thin with me. I just love to see to them fail, but naming and shaming has never worked for me. If anything, complete humiliation in-game has always proved more affective. If you are aware of a definitive glitcher, add them to your block list and tell your friends who they are (ie: ME!), but don't ever make it public! It gives them more attention than they deserve. Rather than name and shame, do what I do 99% of the time... Tell them you are LIVE STREAMING the game, and that they are getting viewed by 100+ people! Guaranteed they will leave instantly! -
You mean the Green one? In fear of repeating myself, I still don't see why they are saying it is inspired by Origins. If it was the same Blue, then fair enough, but Green!? I think the ad guys at Treyarch need to actually play the games they are marketing.
-
I think you are right. I am sure it is just one of the 4 new reticles on offer with the 4 skins. The 3 stripe will belong to the 'Beast' camo. The three bullet holes were for the 'Dead Mans Hand' camo, and so forth.

Very enjoyable read Tac. You never fail to impress me. -
@Treyarch - Please fix the broken tank!
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Origins
I think we noticed it more so because we basically were playing several games of Origins a day, 7 days a weeks for about a month. If you are 3 bars or less, there is a 50% chance of it happening. We have tried everything to beat it too. We tried jumping up and down while riding it, we have had players stand on the railing and even tried running behind it and only getting on it at the last minute... nothing matters. Once bump or lag and you go down. People on strong connections who are local to each other, like 4 players from the UK all on 4 bars will only ever see it happen if you get a spike lag while riding the tank, otherwise it will be smooth sailing, but even if you never see it, the fact that they would do something as silly as to put a death barrier inside something that moves (over bumps might I add) and a player has to use it if trying to complete the EE is very, VERY silly of them. The tank was exploited only when stationary. Surely the could have programmed it to only have the death barrier when motionless!? Either way, just another of the many issues with Origins I'm afraid. Still a great map though, but very broken. -
@Treyarch - Please fix the broken tank!
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Origins
Whether it happens to you or not, it does still happen, and to a LOT of other players. You only need to lag just ONCE on the tank to die. It has even happened to hosts when they get spike or console lag. Some people can get lucky and avoid it, especially if they are host, but that does not take away from the fact that it is still game breaking. How could they not know this would happen? A moving object with a death barrier inside it?? It has disaster written all over it to be honest. -
If they had hotfixed the box into all 3 maps, we would then have the choice of which map we opened the reward on. It would have also added some much needed longevity (and purpose) to the Easter Eggs. For example, if we finished all 3 eggs and activated the box on Tranzit for our reward, we would in-turn reset them all, so if we them wanted to activated the box on Die Rise, we would need to do them all again, and so forth. As they are, the box is not worth triggering apart from getting to hear the (badly edited) conversation between Richtofen & Maxis. It was all very disheartening in the end.

You could always knife lunge up into the glitch with him. If you sit on the same tanker as him, the zombies all run away and no one get's any kills. I used to do it to piss them off. They would eventually quit out or end the game if the pulled host, but I just liked doing it to piss them off. Same on Ascension. If they got into the glitch by PHD, you could pretend you are wanting to go in too. Then when the crawler is passing behind the player in the glitch and the crosshair goes green, lunge forward and you will knife into the player downing both of you. That one always caught them off guard. lol. There is a lot of glitches that you can get them when they are in them, but not all of them. If I find someone in a glitch I know I cannot get them in, I just leave.

This... The problem with the N4 EE maps is that the rewards are all redundant. None of them are worthwhile... especially for the effort required. Tranzit gives you a power up, Die Rise gives you non-permanent perks, both of which are obtainable through easier means in-game. Buried gives us perma perks, but 99% of the community has persistent Tombstone, and it seems to be ever lasting, so perma perks is pointless. They should have had a 4 perk limit on Buried (no way of obtaining additional perks outside the EE). Then the reward would have been MUCH more in demand. The end-game rewards are no better. A permanent fire sale on the easiest map available? 4 gun Mule?? If the end-game box was available on all 3 maps, it would have been a much better feature. We could then pick what map we wanted to get the rewards on and it would have made for a fun experience. Having it only on Buried was a terrible decision. M&S, Mark II and the SVU and you are set on that map. A permanent fire sale and 4 gun Mule is pointless. Origins is just as bad. Opening up the crazy place is OK for noobs, but serious high round players will continue to run outside, so it feel even cheaper.
-
Yeah, there was one there that they did patch, but it got exploited again by placing the shield in a slightly different spot. Basically, there has been a fresh glitch on that walkway since the game launched. When they patch one, another is found quickly. Classic Treyarch.
