I don't believe the easter egg is done yet...
DeathBringerZen replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in The Giant
I would take that with a pinch of salt Craig. I have had 2 people who claimed to have tore the coding for Shadows of Evil apart and claimed there was nothing more to that EE, yet people found out how to upgrade the Arnie's since then and have yet to find out how to upgrade the WW. This would be something that would surely stand out in the coding if these EE's were that easy to spot. I was also told by someone recently that the 2 current EE's for The Giant are not that easy to spot within the coding and apparently this individual couldn't even find the free perk EE in the code themselves. Long story short, these guys who claim to rip the code are not reliable sources for definitive answers on whether there is more or not. If they can show me the exact executable coding for the already known EE's then fair enough but all I hear on various platforms is that there is nothing more in the coding, but I am yet to see evidence of this and not just people claiming as such. -
Brand New SOE Easter Egg - POSSIBLE SPOILERS
DeathBringerZen replied to andizzle's topic in Shadows of Evil
It is a step to upgrade the Arnie's though not just a one-off novelty feature so it would be something you would see regularly if you chose to upgrade them. I get it and the donuts are just for fun but it's zombies... it's not really supposed to be that kind of humourous. Not complaining too much about them though, just find it a tad too gimicky for my liking is all. I am sure I can look past it if I ever intend on upgrading the tacticals. -

I do agree and find it odd that they would send our characters back to Der Riese only to have younger Richtofen kill the older Richtofen and that's it! It just seems like such a pointless reason and with Treyarch themselves confirming in their ComiCon Q&A that The Giant would have an EE, it makes me want to believe they meant more than just 2 simple ones that were discovered on day one by most players. This long into it now though sees hope fade but I refuse to give up completely on this one. As for who is on your side and who's not... everyone get's a fair chance on this forum. Some people let the whole thing get to them a bit too much a times, hell, I was just as nippy back in the Tranzit days. Passions run high within this community and we can all get carried away with ourselves but you are a user on here and you will be treated like everyone else. I believe you were only trying to find something new and unfortunately the map is bug ridden so that makes somethings hard to determine as to whether it is a genuine find or just a visual glitch. Either way, I appreciate what you are trying to do. :) -
Brand New SOE Easter Egg - POSSIBLE SPOILERS
DeathBringerZen replied to andizzle's topic in Shadows of Evil
I have heard it upgrades the Arnie's only and is unrelated to the WW. It's a nice little nod towards 'Spaceballs', but like the donut tripmine I find it a tad too comical and gimmicky for zombies. It lowers the tone of it for my liking and I hope is not something they plan to carry on with throughout the other DLC maps. -

Respect goes both ways, and your earlier attitude is not something we welcome here at CoDZ so please try and be more respectful towards other members in future. Regarding the OP, I agree that time is ticking on this one. I have seen the reddit posts but they are not 100% concrete on the still being photoshopped. You can call proof but I have scanned the picture myself through photo dectective and it came back inconclusive. As for the video, I am not denying that it's possible to edit the lighting but it looks pretty legitimate to me so I am willing to give the members the benefit of the doubt until confirmed otherwise. I do think the longer MadGaz stays silent the more chance there is of it being nothing though, that being said... You don't have to believe it, but be respectful nonetheless. If you are not interested then you don't have to comment on it. -

This is awesome. I genuinely though that any side quests in The Giant were definitely over then this shows up. Also gives me renewed hope of there being more to find within SoE. -
I was getting crawlers from the packed Wunderwaffe without having a secondary weapon packed so I am sure the bug was there regardless of the rest of your loadout. Hope it is fixed though because the Wunderwaffe was your get out of jail running weapon for high round runs and playing without it feels strange.
-
It was the unpacked version. Was only testing it because it showed up in the box during a spin so I though I would check it out. Didn't try the packed version yet.

Vanoss Gaming Easter Egg Attempt
DeathBringerZen replied to Hells Warrrior's topic in Shadows of Evil
lol... how NOT to do that step, but hey, at least they had the time of their lives failing at it and that's the entertaining part. -
Anyone else notice if the Wunderwaffe has been buffed? I tried it out a few times yesterday and it seemed to kill all zombies it chained instantly, albeit after a brief few seconds making the initial chain. Didn't see any crawlers or zombies continuing to beat me down. They definitely nerfed early round zombies though. The animation is as if they are caught up in the Widows Wine web. Pretty funny.

How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?
DeathBringerZen replied to steviewonder87's topic in Shadows of Evil
Yep, that is what I am hoping for too. The slim chance someone out there has failed to figure out that one thing, but even then it's unlikely someone hasn't stumbled upon it by now. I do, as each day passes, show a lack of hope. I really hoped this map would be their most ambitious (as earlier reports stated) but already Origins has casts a massive shadow over this map in terms of features. -
How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?
DeathBringerZen replied to steviewonder87's topic in Shadows of Evil
Well I hear you on that front definitely, but remember how the retriever was upgraded or the Acid Gat. They had no narrative... just purely by chance they could be upgraded. I don't agree with how the campaign team execute their Easter egg's but no narrative doesn't always mean no secret. I am of the persuation though that if you or other affiliates don't report it then it doesn't exist. Only because no other major secret has ever been discovered within the first week of a map, so I doubt one ever will. -
How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?
DeathBringerZen replied to steviewonder87's topic in Shadows of Evil
Yes, that one is known now but the real and most obvious question is, when you go to the effort of making and renaming a weapon for the purposes of being an upgraded version then surely it has more of a purpose than the gumballs. I am of the persuation that based on MotD and Origins then there HAS to be a way of upgrading this weapon legitimately. Not sure how yet but the fact that the upgraded version is a legitimate weapon in the weapon set cycle it has to be obtainable. Edit: An example being the Sliquifier in BO2. In the PC coding it was called the Sliquifier 2.0 and even had a place holder but the gun was not altered in anyway visually, only the ammo count. The gun in SoE is actually renamed and the portal effect is different with the ammo account raised. It has to be added purposfully. -
Nah, only on Shadows of Evil. I don't think you get points on The Giant though don't quote me on that.
-
I have always been able to get the points from all the other machines in every match I have played so those ones are not selective but I have never managed to get it from Stamina Up despite trying numerous times. Tried sliding towards it, going prone and crawling close to it then standing and going prone again and nothing, not even once. Definitely seems to be because it's on a platform. Either way, all the others pay out all the time, unless someone beats you to them in a co-op game that is.
-
You get 100 points from all the perks on the map except from Stamina Up and that is only because it is sat on a plate so you cannot go prone in front of it. Also noticed you can no longer rubber band a zombie at a window on the map as the now hit quicker than before so you get downed after several seconds.
-
If you interpreted that from my comments then you are mistaken. I love the map and think it is really well designed, looks fantastic and is generally just really good fun to play on. The only thing that bothers me is the side quest and forced rituals to open PaP. I also loved Mob of the Dead but absolutely loathed having to build and refuel the plane several times a game, every game we played and although Origins was also in the same mold at least opening PaP wasn't too bad. The zombie team did a terrible job with their BO2 maps for the most part and same with the EE reward system but the steps were at least fun in Die Rise and Buried and didn't involve much rinse & repeat of killing zombies. The campaign team make beautiful and interesting maps but their obsession with killing zombies during side quests is really starting to wear thin. They did well with Mob & Origins though so I expected better than this, but they have time to improve so here's hoping.

My feelings exactly. Such an absolute joke of a step. It's like the sharpshooter step on Buried all over again... a forced 4 player step that does not appeal to people who want to run a high round 2 or 3 player match. I just don't get the logic behind these side quests these days. They don't even understand their own community and seem to be obsessed with 4 people playing at all times.

Yeah, it's pretty disappointing that the EE cannot be done on solo but if the reward is what people say it is then that would be pretty self explanatory. There is also no real need to do it solo as it does not have the same effect as Origins where it changes the map structure for easier training. Still disappointing though nonetheless.
-
I agree on that overly frustrating PaP method definitely. It's quite annoying having to do all of that on solo everytime I want to play, but thankfully I will never use the swords in a solo game so I only really have to do the sacrifices. Personally I think the main issue here is that the campaign team don't seem to engage with the community like the old zombie team did. They don't have proper channels to relay feedback and even with the channels they do have available, they don't seem to interact with people on them. I feel this seasons zombies is going to be put out no matter what we think of it and I also think that the EE's will carry on this same trend regardless of our feelings towards them. It was the same story with Exo-Zombies. Every EE was complete and utter garbage with meaningless rewards but as each DLC passed the EE's remained just as poor, in some cases poorer than the previous. Raven didn't listen or didn't seem to care and I expect this to be the same with BO3. What is it with Call of Duty developers refusing to interact with their community? Bungie talk to us all the time about Destiny whether it's their community managers or even Developers posting on the Bungie forum or reddit but CoD dev's just don't seem to care about anything other than daily hotfixes for MP. I thought zombies was helping to keep CoD afloat these days?

I doubt the Margwa masks are anything more than cosmetic, same with the silly and pointless donut tripmines. As for the Giant EE, there is already 2 small ones that offer side quest style rewards and with no first step in sight I cannot see there being a proper EE on The Giant to be honest. I always assumed it would be us waking the test subjects but I have seen nothing in-game that could start the process and no narrative from any of the characters suggesting we need to hurry and do so. On the topic of the SoE EE. I have several issues with it. First one being that it seems to be 4 players only. Why are we going down this road again Treyarch? After MotD and Origins I was hoping to see the end of these ridiculous 4 player EE's, and with Mob being possible with 2 players and Origins solo I had high hopes the campaign team were going to seriously deliver this time around but no, here we go again with the ridiculous player capping. I doubt I will ever do this EE more than one time despite the semi-decent reward because I don't play 4 player games very often. My second issue with it is the fact that the campaign team have literally just reused all the mechanics from MotD and Origins again. Is this the new EE trend? Killing zombies in multiple spots around the map with a little bit of trial and error thrown into the mix? More stupid steps that don't make sense and are not story driven? If this is going to be how EE's are throughout all the maps then this season is going to be just as bad as the BO2 season was. Stop making us fucking kill zombies in EE's steps. We do the side quests to get away from the killing them so why are you so lazy as to lack the imagination or creativity to make steps that don't require a zombie soul to power some random, stupid bloody artifact!?! Did the people who made all these artifacts back on ye olden times not figure out another method of powering mystical objects outwith using the souls of the undead? Jesus Christ... My last issue is the swords. They are absolutely terrible. Never try using one is higher rounds unless you can't be bothered playing anymore because it's ultimately going to cost you your game. I loved the idea of them before the map came out but having actually had a chance to properly mess with them I can safely day I doubt anyone will ever seriously use them in a high round game. All this aside I love the map. Easily one of the best zombie maps to date. Great visuals, brilliant atmosphere, fitting music and ambience. It's a fantastic map to get us started with only let down by the horrifically bad EE and rubbish sword. Also not a fan of the bizarre second PaP features. WTF are they all about!?! Garbage aside I give this map 8/10

I would definitely put it above Tranzit but I do agree that it was a huge disappointment. This rinse & repeat with killing zombies here, there & everywhere lacks imagination and is boring. No narrative or guidance through the hit or miss steps was also a bit of a letdown. Shame.

I think it is terrible in it's current state. It can still kill zombies but it's too slow doing so and that can lead to death pretty quickly. I can only assume they will patch it at some point because it is going to be pretty unpopular otherwise.

I was told a while by by someone claiming to be "in the know" about the list of games to be included in the 100 games that would start the ball rolling so to speak and BO1, BO2 and MW2 were all a part of the list. Even when I told him that Activision were not going to be supporting the Backward Compatibility program he said "trust me... they definitely are." Guess he was right after all. Regardless, this is amazing news. Potentially getting ALL the zombie maps on one console is as good as it gets.

Black Ops 1 confirmed to be coming to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program next month, with BO2 and MW2 set to follow soon! Amazing news for X1 owners. All the zombie maps on 1 console!
