"Jet Gun" is NOT a Wonder Weapon!
DeathBringerZen replied to WaWandBlackOps1ZombieLover's topic in TranZit
Amen to that! I consider the wonder weapon(s) of a map to be the gun that all the noobs will race to the box asap (and without consideration for Juggernog) and dry hump it till they get it! Wunderwaffe, Thundergun, Winter's Howl, Scavenger, Baby Maker, Wave Gun, Jetgun, Sliquifier, Blundergat, Paralyzer & Staffs. All of them are the maps specific wonder weapons, 115 based or not! To argue otherwise is beyond retarded!- 32 replies

Definitely Black Ops 1 for me. I don't hate BO2, but I found the maps to be very uninspiring for the most part. Tranzit is a good map in terms of it's layout but the features and content destroyed it completely. Die Rise went back to a similar style as the BO1 maps but for me the layout let it down really badly. MotD recovered the series well but it went right back downhill again with the terrible Buried. Map had no balance to it whatsoever and felt like the zombie team had just given up and decided to throw everything into it without real thought. Origins is very fun on solo but horrible to play on co-op due to the constant issues that arise. BO1 is not completely bug-free itself but the maps certainly had a lot more balance to them and were a lot more fun to play in my opinion. I would much rather play BO1 during this extended off-season that continue to play BO2.

Well, I know Treyarch have promoted Moaning Camels (NoHandedGamer) streams several times and have had devs in there before talking or playing with him and this dev said that the DLC 1 map that would feature TEDD on a tractor was actually all but finished but they scapped it and went with Die Rise at the last minute. That would mean the map is still out there, and if that was the case it would have been nice if they finished it and released it, even if it was only as a source file on PC. Shame as I actually think it sounded a LOT better than Die Rise.
-
Apparently, a Treyarch dev recently confirmed that was actually the genuine planned DLC1 and was scrapped and replaced by Die Rise due to the communities reaction to Tranzit. It was on Moaning Camels Twitch stream, and I am sure you could probably find it easily enough if you tried. The dev said the map would be set in a farm area, but they scapped it in December and ended up going with Die Rise which was a map idea by Alex Romo (SparkyMcSparks). He had already mapped around 70% of the map as a side project. I cannot guarantee this as fact, but I can't see why the dev would lie, and there is supporting evidence on Sparky's site to suggest it could indeed have been the case.

Yeah, I agree that buried is easier than Ascension. I know Ascension is easy also, but I find the zombies are more aggressive in BO1 and the side stepping zombies can be a nuisance at times. Still, once setup, Origins is potentially the easiest map out of them all. Behind the tank station with the Ice Staff is about as easy as it gets.

So I thought people were better than this....
DeathBringerZen replied to ThunderGlove142's topic in Call Of The Dead
Man, you are lucky to even find more than 200 people playing CotD these days and yeah, almost all of them are kids or glitchers so I wouldn't waste your time to be honest. You can find people willing to go back and play BO1 maps on here easily. I'm one of them. Feel free to add me if you wish. GT is on the left hand side. -
I found that by swapping a staff for a wall weapon, it would send the staff back to excavation but would not bring up the command string to pick it back up again rendering it lost so I would not recommend doing that to be honest.
-
Yes, this is a rather common issue with Origins, and unfortunately will never be fixed (Thanks Treyarch!). It happens when a player handles a staff built by another player or when they go down with a staff and bleed out. It only seems to affect upgraded staffs. There is a known fix though. If playing a 4 player game, only have the person who builds a staff handle that one staff. You cannot build more than one either unless you are playing with less than 4 players. Basically the minute a person touches a staff they did not build then you risk losing one of them. This means you cannot swap staffs around with a team-mate or you will lose a staff permanently if you trade it out or die with it.

Mocking, I do not dispute your argument, nor do I agree with it. The ending opens up an interpretation for us all to choose from. Maybe the map is canon, maybe it's not. I don't look at our debate as an arguement... I look at it as two minds trying to find a solution. Maybe I am right, maybe you are. Hell... maybe we are both wrong! The only people who can produce any kind of clarity are the people responsible. I love having debates, and none more so than with you! Why you ask? Because you are straight to the point. You follow a similar believe as me... that Treyarch get more credit than they deserve. Yes, Origins was a shit-hole of a mess that shouldn't have happened, or at the very least should not have presented the story it did. Also that BO2 was a disaster in general. I love opening a discussion with you because you always are willing to respond and actually debate about it. Sometimes it can get heated but at least you are willing to defend your corner. I have no issue with your resposes, proof or not. I accept your arguement but I do not necessarily agree with it. I honestly believe that Origins was intended to be a part of our storyline but they misinterpretated how we would percieve or accept it. This is why I believe it was supposed to be canon but that they will change their mind upon the release of the next game. I believe they intended to draw a line under our current storyline, but will now change that path due to peoples overwhelming hatred at how BO2 turned out. It seems the devs DO bow to our commands (if overwhelming), and will alter their plans based on this. Origins was supposed to be the end of one story and the beginning of a new one. This will ultimately change now though, due to the disdain of that cinematic.
-
I understand and accept that answer, but that can also be viewed as a cheap way of taking the heat away from the devs for spectaculary screwing up the storyline. The first few sentences of Jasons breakdown though suggest otherwise, and without solid proof I refuse to give the devs credit where it is not due. I genuinely believe they just fecked it up and it's on our shoulders to fix it up for them by finding a way to tie it in somehow. Not saying I am right and everyone else is wrong. Far from it, but I just feel they have too many times in past contradicted themselves with the storyline that there is no reason not to think this again. If it does turn out to be non-canon then what was the point on the maps storyline, or even ending for that matter?
-
And do you have solid evidence to back you up on that one? Not saying it isn't, just saying my assumption is that it was not supposed to be originally, but it will be come the next game.
-
I agree with this. I do not necessarily believe Origins is supposed to be set in some, "alternate" timeline. The whole basis of the map being set in an aternative reality came from that one description of the map that was put there by some site admin guy, not necessarily a dev. "Origins is exactly what it say's on the tin. We are going back to the moment when our heroes met for the first time! Nikolai, Dempsey, Takeo, and of course, Richtofen, and this is not for the faint hearted. These characters are meeting surrounded by the horrors of war. We have a larger scale than we have ever done before, further enhanced by dynamic weather, from rain, fog rolling in, snow falling. In true zombies style, our WW1 has a dramatic twist... diesel punk! The map feature 2 new era specifc weapons... the MG08 machine gun... WOW! and a new starting pistol for the first time which is the Mauser, and both have been give the diesel punk asthetic. We've introduced the zombie tank. This is a defendable platform that can move around the map that you can use to fight off the zombie horde and also possibly discover a few Easter eggs along the way. Oh by the way... did I mention the giant robots? We have 1000ft mechanical giants striding across the landscape. That gives a verticality and scale that we've never seen before in zombies. It also provides hazards, or oportunities for the skilled player. This zombie map really has to be seen to be believed" Nowhere in Jason Blundell's breakdown does it mention alternate realities or timelines. Only that one line from the map description on the CoD site and then David Vonderhaar's tweet about it being one of many possibilities, which I must add only got posted after everyone complained about the trailer and how it was completely contridictary towards the current storyline and timeline. My guess is that it was not supposed to be an alternate timeline originally, but seeing the communities reaction to the map they will no doubt make it non-canon when the next game comes out.

Actually, there is two locations for the hidden Yellow level. Both are on the hedge inside the middle of the maze. One on the hedge beside where the door can appear and one on the opposite side from where the door can appear. It also took me over 50+ games before I discovered this.

I was just about to point out that very same thing. Still, the loading screens on zombies confirm the maps and possibly ideas in-game have comic book elements to them, but I would not single them out to be ideas that came directly from L.B. Cole. There was literally hundereds of comic book creators back in the 20's, 30's, 40's etc that all had heavy sci-fi undertones to them. There was also a lot of comics being produced in the early 40's that features nazi's, and I can only imaging that some of them features similar aspects that feature in our beloved game. I think the Dev's definitely used some of the comics as inspiration but I doubt they went for one single author, and if they did, I doubt it was L.B. Cole's works. The Raygun for example is not exclusive to his comics. It has features in thousands of other comics and is probably considered an expected feature in any sci-fi comic franchise.

Well, I believe that Kino had a stock setup (4 perks only) because it was supposed to be the map that came with DLC 4 for World at War, and it eventually became the stock map in Black Ops instead due to time constraints. It did eventually get Mule Kick added to it at the end of the Black Ops season. Personally I would have prefered PHD but I think it was down to the popularity of Mule Kick in Moon that saw them decide to add it to all maps in the end. It was also probably also to counteract the 3 gun glitch people were using on Kino (and possibly other maps, I'm not sure on that one). If we ever do recieve 'remakes' in a later game as DLC I would like to think they would mix them up somehow. Change the perks and weapons, possibly reimagine the map settings? It would give the maps a renewed interest rather than just playing the same boring map on a new console. I barely touch some maps these days... I certainly would not be enticed to play identical versions again unless there was some kind of change to them.

Saw a video a loooooooooong time ago that showed someone noclipping the PC version, but the actual Earth you see if just part of the skybox that is in use (see here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skybox_%28video_games%29) so I don't really know what you are hoping to see. It is just a flat still 2 dimentional image.

You can find them by using the search bar at the top right. Just type in the usual suspects... "Tranzit continuation", "After the achievement", "Tranzit next step", etc. Same searches can also be done on the official Activision forum found here : http://community.callofduty.com/community/call_of_duty/english/black_ops_2/forums/zombies The ATVI forum was a lot busier back in the day with threads popping up every few seconds. Try typing in a few things into the search and you will find tons of interesting threads.

I don't doubt for a minute that there is not a lot of people out there still searching Tranzit daily, but even a cryptic tweet like that will not tempt most people back to it because none of Jimmy's previous cryptic tweets amounted to anything. Back in Dec 2012 the forums were crazy with people searching for more and even saw a few trolls join in with the fun. I put in 100's of hours into tearing the map apart looking for more. The map will never see a return to those days simply based on a tweet. Hell, even if someone came out and confirmed for a fact that there was more to Tranzit, I think it would likely only get a little attention in comparison to it's inital faze. Take Halo 3 for example. Bungie confirmed for many a year that there was still one Easter egg undiscovered and it was eventually for a few days ago. 7 years later!? Despite fans knowing that the EE was still there, not a lot of them continued to search for it. I fear Tranzit would be the same as the undiscovered EE could be anything... even something small and insignificant. The Halo EE turned out to be merely a Happy Birthday message. Not saying give up... just explaining why some people can't be bothered anymore is all. I lost my passion for it a long time ago but would love for them to just confirm there is something. I would get back on it in a heart beat.

Yeah, sorry about last night man. I am down to do it tonight if you want though?
-
It is almost definite that there will be no more in-game patching done to BO2 seeing as the last known in-game patching was in September of last year.
-
The reason why it has not generated much interest in the fact that Jimmy is a trolling douchebag and has already put out several "hint" tweets that all kind of contradict one and other. Supposedly we need to run faster, wait appropriate amount of time, close our eyes so we may see, a cart is a cart etc. There is a lot of unused quotes in the sound files that supported the idea of a continuation, but then again, there is a lot of unused sounds files for each of the DLC too so unless they actually came out and said there definitely WAS more to Tranzit, I don't see an influx of EE hunters coming back to it anytime soon.
-
I would keep it in log form for the time being. It goes in line with how we are fed the storyline by Treyarch and allows us the audience to paint our own picture on how events pan out. It is more fun that way. You should definitely do more of these though, and soon please!
-
Very good read Nait. I could actually believe this to be real transcripts from events between maps. Looking forward to more of this from you. Brains awarded!
-
Completely agree. It has no logical though put into it. It is in essence just 8 player survival. Why they thought the paralyzer and buildables were a good idea to include is beyond me, but yeah... at least Cell Block was thought out well enough to work perfectly but Borough is just terrible. In the few games I have played, most people just play it out like survival or glitch. No one seems to actually try griefing much on it!? Turned on the other hand is a little bit more suited to the layout.

The ice Staff parts cannot be found in the same area. They only ever spawn in the 3 seperate areas, namely around gen 1/2/3 for the first part, NML for the second and around church area for the 3rd part. There is no way that the 3 parts can ever be found around the same area. Lightning parts also only need to be picked up for the power ups to spawn in the 3 lightning staff areas. You do not need to build the staff.
