  1. Funnily enough, I agree with this. I know a LOT of people from my own friends list have had their rounds wiped, and as they are all regular, high round players, they were actually fine with it. They all agreed that it gave them a reason to play all the maps again. Personally, I would have been fine to have mines wiped also, as I play the game every day still and don't mind redoing all mines again. I can still sympathize with those who are pissed about it though. This whole debacle reminds me of those who also suffered from rounds not recording in BO1 a few years back. That went from just a few, to literally thousands overnight. ATVIAssist did not offer any kind of help or support on that issue back then either, so expect no help this time around. Buy our game, but don't expect to get any support on issues after purchase. Awesome I really do think we give the guys at Activision and Teyarch too much credit sometimes. This is a joke system for what is one of thee biggest selling titles of all time. Engine is a laughing stock in the industry, so much so that EA, Bethesda and a few other companies have actually released statements saying such. ATVI Support is a joke, Activision is a joke, and so are Treyarch. Problems like this should not be happening, and if they do they should attempt to address it. They have not even ackowledged this error! Terrible.
  2. There was a game settings change/hotfix, but it did not fix the leaderboard. Surprised to see a hotfix all the same. What the hell could it be for!?!
  3. Kicked out of my round 92 Origins run for a system setting change!?! Game didn't even save. Thanks Treyarch.

There was an update or something? Lame. You should play Local like me so you don't get kicked.

Man that's bad luck - welcome to the ruined high round club down to live or system update :)

  4. So... I checked my leaderboards earlier and a LOT of people from my friends list have had their scores removed, and numerous people are complaining about it on Twitter. Seems a lot worse than it first seemed. :O
  5. I was watching a friends live stream last night and it happened to two people playing. I could not get online last night either. Unable to connect to server nonsense. Possibly doing maintenance and messed something up.
  6. No, I am sorry. I noticed how my reply could be percieved as if I thought that, but I really didn't. It is hard sometimes to post on forums without seeming to come across wrong. I only think BO1 trumped MW2 because it, as you said tried to make maps a little different, and more arena like. MW2 is the game I played more MP on than any, and every map was awesome, but when BO1 came out it had much larger, open maps that you could use multiple strategies on. Sure the noobs ruined the style of play eventually, but for the first few months the MP was amazing to play on, and in my honest opinion, just edged out MW2. Since then, I feel that MW3, BO2 and Ghosts have all had terrible MP. I know not everyone will agree with that though. I also felt that reskinning old "fan favorites" was a desperate and weak move in my opinion. MP died with BO1 for me. It was the last great MP game. Still, I fully understand you and many others will consider MW2 to be much better than BO1, but I appreciated the different route they took (at first).
  7. ^This is exactly the point I was trying to make, and the stat's don't lie. I did not provide the supporting evidence you did though Clay, so thanks for the support on it. It is pretty well known that Ghosts has been a poor release in the CoD franchise, and it has also been noted by Activision themselves. DLC sales have also been drastically lower than expected, so they have tried several tactics to boost sales, including free weekends, massive reductions and mass advertising to attempt to boost sales. I have also noted a lot of Youtubers slate the game and also refuse to cover Extinction. I completely agree with you that this could potentially be seen as a good time to try and make some money off the people who have stuck by Black Ops 2 instead. The camo drops could have been them testing the water on the MP end. They could also have a different developer do maps for zombies. Raven Software made Kino after all, and that is one of the most successful maps in the series. Statistics aside, my main point is that I fully believe that money could still be made from micro transaction maps. Remakes (possibly re-themed) versions of WaW maps similar to those on CoD:Online could be welcomed. Sure they are not exactly new to us, but brand new maps would require a lot more time due to having to try and incorporate a storyline and most likely an EE. Remakes seems like the quickest and easiest way, and I think they thought along those lines originally anyway when they included all the previous maps loading screens in the BO2 files. It still seems unlikely, but we all know how money hungry Activision actually are, and if they cannot boost sales for Ghosts, who knows.
  8. I remember BSZ going into Turned to test out whether that affected rank, and he took some 100+ downs over the course of several games and did not derank from Shotguns after reobtaining them just recently. The thread was one I made about whether Grief or Turned deranked you or not, and I am sure he also said that Grief did not affect rank. There was also the tweet from Jimmy about these game-modes not affecting rank. This would all make sense too if Jimmys recent tweet about the rank being alive is true. It also explains why some people were obtaining shotguns when far from the required K/D that many (including myself) suspected as being the secret to the system.
  9. As Mega said, it is your overly aggressive responses to people some times, and especially when it is on a matter that you are passionate about, like DLC 5. I have edited my post though as I don't really want to be having this arguement. I see what you are saying on the subject, and my stance is that I don't agree. That does not mean I am looking for a fight. I just feel that there is enough people who play zombies regularly to warrant a profit in any new maps that dropped, whether it be via micro transactions or a bundle. This would be even more evident now that we have an extended off-season, and would actually make sense, but I just don't see it happening. If it was going to happen, they would have tested the water months ago with a remake of Verruckt or something and tried it as a micro transaction to see how well it sold, but that does not mean it would not sell now, just because we are a few month on... just that from a marketing stance, you would expect them to do it earlier in the games life span. Going back to one of my original posts... Borderlands 2 got a DLC drop nearly 2 years after it released and it sold in healthy numbers. I know there is probably a lot more people playing Borderlands 2 than zombies, but it is testiment to how well a DLC can sell long after the original title was released. Still, apologies again. I was not looking to bash you.
  10. My point, as I have clearly stated several times already, is that there is profit to be made if they DID go and release another DLC when you claimed there is not. I am not trying to degrade you in any way, so my apologies if it seemed that way. When I said your statement was "flawed", it was because I genuinely felt it was, in terms of the fact that you seemed to think it was not profitable for them to release DLC at this point in time. I was NOT saying you are flawed as an individual.
  11. I did say "on occasion", not regularly. Still, I am only pointing out that, although it sold well, a lot of people either traded in Ghost or stopped playing it. Activision have done everything to try and get sales, including free weekends, heavy discounts and mass promotion and it is not working. Still, I am not trying to start arguments about which is better. You seem to have a dislike for earlier Treyarch MP titles, where as I prefer them to IW's. It is all a matter of opinion at the end of the day. I personally think MW2 was just out done by BO1 MP. WaW MP was also really well done. My opinion on the OP, which is supported by statistics is that a zombie only DLC or Micro Transactions could still cut a profit even after 5+ months. I think it could because numbers for zombies is strong enough. If 50,000 people paid $5 a map, or $20 for a bundle, that would be $1,000,000 return. I am sure it would not cost even half that to produce some reskinned maps. The reason why I don't think it will happen, and why it didn't happen in the first place is because zombies moved to the MP engine, and that would mean they would need to remake the maps from scratch. It would have took too much time, and still would.
  12. My opinion on Ghosts being a flop is down to statistics. There has been, on numerous occasions, around double the amount of people playng BO2 online than Ghosts. The huge lack of coverage across the main Youtubers for Ghosts. The lack of passion or excitement about the game across most of the forums. My opinion on most of the zombie community shunning Extinction is based on a number of reasons. The lack of people who post within zombie sections of forums also posting on Extinction forums, or the fact that the number of people playing Extinction is quite low, especially when compared to zombies. Also from general word of mouth when I converse with people across several forums. I accept though that this is not concrete evidence. The fact that people still play zombies IS a selling point, and PROOF that they can still make money from it. Your argument that people still play HL2 is your own condtridiction, seeing as Valve continued to make money from that game YEARS later! If you genuinely think they could not make enough money from an all new, all zombie DLC for Black Ops 2 even after 5+ month of abandonment, the you are wrong! My argument is that the numbers are still high enough to cut a decent enough profit, and I think I am right. Still, we will never be able to prove the point either way as it will not happen. There will be no DLC 5, so no point in arguing about it.
  13. My reasoning is that your argument is flawed... plain and simple. You are claiming that there is no profit to be made from a zombie only DLC, when you are clearly wrong. They could easily make money from it. Ghosts is a flop, and the zombie community has largely shunned Extinction. There is still a high volume of players playing BO1 & BO2 zombies across all 3 main platforms, and that figure is enough to cut a decent profit. You are the one being rude and arrogant here, not me. You are unwilling to listen to other peoples reasonings, and claim your own to be solid, when it is not.
  14. Plenty of other games, like Borderlands 2 get DLC over a year after release, so you cannot just assume that just because a game has not seen any proper action in months that it suddenly become improbable. I also think your argument for it being non-profitable is flawed. Even if MP fans abandoned their copies of BO2, a zombie only DLC would only appeal to the zombie side of the community anyway, and almost 99% of that community will have retained their game. 3arc DLC drops are mostly profited from the zombie community anyway, so it would still be very lucrative for them if they DID go ahead and release a zombie only DLC drop. With that being said, I do agree that there is very little (if any) chance of a DLC 5!
  15. Yeah, been over here for the most part. CheeseGrater is here now too! I knew of both spots you are referring to (Behind Gen 1 door & the spot beside the wheelbarrow), but after trying them both in in the past, I found that they barely shaved much time off compared to camping behind the tank station (as you said in the past over on the ATVI forum), and after trying it again tonight in a practice run have decided to stick with that one. It means I can open up the whole map if need be. Built the shield at the workshop and it went well. Planning on putting it into practice properly tomorrow. Should comfortably make 100 I reckon.
  16. Yeah, I quit out of my round 67 on MotD through boredom and never really tried again after that. Might try again at some stage, but I remember the 60's being 10+ minute rounds, and that just put me off going higher. It's as you said... being spoiled with these fast camping strategies is ruining other maps. I have heard others unpatching the Sliq, though I have never actually done it myself. I don't play enough of Die Rise to be honest. You need to shoot the White sign behind the noodle bar or something, right? I used to do the escalator, but you can get from 2-60 in roughly an hour and a half in the key corridor, so it is a lot quicker to be honest. You can get to 80 in 3 hours if you are lucky.
  17. Yeah, I normally avoid Cherry like the plague, but it was mid round, and it was also my 8th perk I was grabbing. I ran past and picked it up thinking it was flopper. I knew it was going to cost me eventually. Still... I think I could do 100 using that strat easy enough, so yeah... I think I will get that 100 eventually. I have also been messing around on Die Rise looking for fast strategies. Fastest to 60+ I know of is camping down in the key corridor with a packed AN and the sliq. Actually a HELL of a lot easier than I thought it would be. Watched 5and5 do it and he cruised it. Tried moving from there on 60 straight to the noodle bar and play it out kiting the zombies and using the sliq. Made it to 66 and got kicked, so need to go back and re-do it again at some point. Tried doing MotD again a few days back, but once you are set up on that map, it just get's ridiculously boring. No true fast strats on that map it seems.
  18. Gave this a try tonight. Got to round 86 and took my first down, and foolishly it was to be the end of my game after taking Electric Cherry from the wunderfizz machine on 75 by mistake and despite saying I would down myself at the end of a round and let it go, I kept ending the rounds without managing to keep one and it cost me. The down I took on 86 was a trivial down that I could have easily avoided, and aside from that one mistake, it was actually ridiculously easy to camp AND train behind the tank station. Was not even playing serious and I got to 86 in roughly 6 hours. Did not beat my 88, but I am safe in the knowledge that I WILL beat it using that strategy. Nice one man. +1
  19. I don't know why he said it took him 40 hours!? I have seen someone get to 121 in 10 hours, so can't see it taking 30 hours to get through another 41 rounds on top of that. Unless he was including breaks, work and sleep. lol.
  20. You can get to 100 on Buried in roughly 5-6 hours doing the 'Resonator & Turbine' strategy at Jugg. Maybe longer, but not by much. It only took me 3+ hours to get to 74 doing it. I am excluding setup from that time though... just from when I start it at Jugg after getting my perks, box smashing and PaPing.
  21. Yep... I have had that happen before a few times. Map looks actually pretty good. lol. Never had or heard of it snowing permanently though!?
  22. ^This. If anyone on CoDZ could write a solo strategy guide, it is YOU! Maybe me and Chopper prior, but you have clearly proven to be head and shoulders above us (for now! ). I will try your strategies over time, and my aim is to obviously better you, but until then, I kneel before you. Your strategies and guide have been nothing short of spectacular, and I think you can easily be the sites new Superhands, though personally I would love nothing more than to see return of the master himself. Anyway... if we get the chance to revote for a new user of the month, you have my vote man. Keep up the awesome work... you are a credit to this site!
  23. Looking for one person to break 70 on Origins with me tonight 2 player. anyone down? I am good to go in 1 hour.

Fuck it isn't, I could have started now as well and gone for a really high one! Let's try the weekend for sure, I fancy another 70+ coop, would be my 3rd BO2 one.

    3. DeathBringerZen

      DeathBringerZen

Yeah, I think Origins would be easy enough to hit 70+ on 2P. I already had a 62 recorded and we were breezing, but the connection I was on was terrible and it ended up costing us the game. No matter... I am down for the weekend. Keen to hit 70+ on Kino too at some point if you are down?

    4. Chopper

      Chopper

Yeah for sure on Kino but that's definitely a weekend jobby me thinks....I can do that for sure not this weekend but the next...I need to plan out my high runs very carefully and in advance ;)

  24. Yeah, the Resonator above Jug and the Turbine in the courthouse is the fastest strategy on Buried. I got to round 74 in 3 hours doing it. You will not get many kills doing it, but it should only ever be the round that counts, not the other stats.
  25. I personally liked Tranzit as a map. It only became tedious when the realization set it that there was nothing more to it. That is when it became apparent that the map was seriously lacking. I am unsure if it was down to technical restraints, but the map definitely needed more perks and more weapons. A map that size should NOT have contained the limited wall weapons it did. They should have capitalized on it by having specific wall weapons in tough spots like on the church wall or in the fog somewhere so that it was possible to train there, but also tough to do so because of the Denizens. The lack of perks was unforgivable. Aside from the co-op only Tombstone, it was practically WaW perks. I say that, because Stamina Up was originally going to be a WaW perk. Even if it was to include perks like Mule Kick, Deadshot or a fire resistant perk would have been nice. They did not have to include PHD, fine, but the other perks? or even better new ones!? The choice of weapons for BO2 in the box were also poor. They did not balance them well. Most people I knew who played Tranzit either smashed the box for a Galil, a Raygun or both. None of the other weapons got a look in. Maybe the HMR or RPD before nerf, but even they were relatively poor. There was no real inspiration with the weapons... just chucking in MP weapons again, and not taking into account the sporadic differences between MP play and zombies. SMR is fine in MP but possibly the worst weapon in zombie history. Sure we can say the mystery box is a gamble, but did they have to make it THAT bad? What the hell is the purpose of the War Machine!?! Tranzit could have been saved by having the NavCards unlock something new on that map. A new perk or two would have done it wonders. Even unlocking Wunderfizz. I know there is problems that can arise from playing with people who have done all the NavCards and people who have not, but I am still sure they could have done something. Anything...
