From the test carried out by one of my friends, his group only had to knock of the 5 helmets in a single round, not at the exact same time. He shot the 4 brutus helmets off then a team-mate shot the Brutus on the island and it triggered the noise. There was a good 10 seconds between the 4 on the bridge and the 1 on Alcatraz and he STILL got the sound.
-
The sound can be heard by shooting off 4 Brutus helmets on the Bridge and 1 brutus on Alcatraz. I am not sure of the requirements prior to this, but someone has verified it to me through a clip.
-
The orange light in the sky IS the box light. This can be confirmed by staying on the bridge in a co-op game while your team-mates return to the island. Watch as their afterlife symbols appear beside the light, followed by their GT's. Final confirmation is watching the light disappear when the box moves, and reappearing when the box respawns.

A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Mob of the Dead
With the ranking system being what it is, I cannot see them hiding something major that would require up to NINE downs. Maybe something small, and irrelevant to the game, but not something big. -
The latter I suspect. If it WAS easter egg related, then it would be screwing over players that are not taking part in an EE. Since I put it to them, they have not responded to it anymore, other than on that one occasion!? It is the same with Die Rise. Putting your Trample Steam down can sometimes result in it floating away, never to be retrieved again. 2 patches later and they STILL ain't fixed this!

A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Mob of the Dead
Yeah, I was thinking it was maybe something to do with Brutus, but he might be tied into a different EE now, that a certain group are talking about now. From the story I found online, I am thinking it is something more to do with afterlife's, but maybe not. Shooter is right though... Arlington would have to have wrote it down for a reason, but maybe we are just overthinking something. Either way, I will continue to try a few things out and see if anything comes out of it all. -
A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Mob of the Dead
I was hoping to do some experimenting with it last night, but I ended up going out for a night on the town. Will definitely be going into a game tonight and will try a few things out. Might try using all 10 switches, leaving the last one as the one on the roof. -
Yes, this has been happening for over a month now. Poor thing is when playing on solo, it is impossible to catch it, and you cannot pick up another one until that one breaks, which is on some occasions, never! When put to ATVIassist, they said they do not answer Easter Egg related questions!?!

A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Mob of the Dead
I just can't see Treyarch actually wanting player to legitimately 'down' themselves. Ranking system is too important to some people. If there IS something to the 9 lives thing, then it is more than likely something to do with 9 Afterlife downs, as opposed to genuine downs. Staying dead could be a 'third' possible scenario, though that may be a little far fetched at the minute. -
A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Mob of the Dead
If this is the case, then there is 10 switches in Alcatraz, and that rules my theory out. Still think there is something we are not getting from this 'A Cat with Nine Lives' quote. Well, it was just a thought, but thanks BS for confirming the 10 switches. Saves me the time! Back to the drawing board... -
A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Mob of the Dead
- spawn - warden's office - showers - near mp5 - near gondola (up) - infirmary - near juggernog - circular stairway - inside gate on docks Yes, that is 9 switches total in the map. what about the one in the generator room? Is there one at spawn? How could I have missed THIS!?! Where in spawn? Suppose I am just about to go into a game so will know for sure. Still think there is something to this, but can't quite put my finger on what. I counted 9, and if 9 is the case, the it is a coincidence worth investigating. Infest, I love that last post. Good stuff... -

Thanks or the confirmation on this Infest. This does make it rather interesting. I will be going into a game very soon now, so will try it throughout the game and listen for anything untoward. May even be a way to allow a player to complete the Pop Goes the Weasel on solo. Either way, the origin is an interesting fit with the theory, so we shall see. -
A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in Mob of the Dead
I am more thinking along the lines of listening out for any notification sound upon having the same person use all 9 switches in one match. If there IS 9 switches, which I am sure there is, then maybe it means using them all. Possibly not, but the coincidence of having 9 switches, and the origins of the quote itself make it something worth testing out. -
A Cat has Nine Lives : Origins

Sure, why not. I will be going into a game this evening, so will upload it after I am done. -
So, having still not worked out what the 'A Cat has Nine Lives' means on the loading screen, I looked up the origins on the saying, and apart from the usual 'Feline Reflex' statements, I found one article of interest... Do you know why cat's have nine lives -- or did you ever wonder why people say they do? This is the story. A very hungry cat entered a house one day and found a plate of nine fish that were going to be eaten for dinner by the nine starving children who lived there. The cat was feeling a little selfish that day and ate up all of the fish in nine quick bites. With no food on the table, the nine starving children died of hunger the very next day, along with the cat who died from eating WAY too much. When the cat went up to heaven and spoke with God, God was so angry with the cat that he threw him out of heaven and made him fall for nine days all the way back to earth. To this day, the cat still holds the nine lives of the starving children in his belly, which is why he must die nine different times before he will stay dead. Now... the last part underlined stood out to me. There is 9 afterlife switches. What if each player has to use each switch in a game for something to happen? I will test it out myself, but thought I may mention it to see if anyone has already tried this out. Sorry if this has been mentioned already.

I remember seeing a lot of behind the scenes footage from the Treyarch studios, and see them recording sound effects using the dog. Had NO idea that it was Brians dog though, OR the fact that he was named Brutus. Excellent work here mate, even if it is just for fun.

**Tower of babble** Maxis quotes analyzed** Need Help!!
DeathBringerZen replied to Mr.Dr.Professor.Sir's topic in TranZit
Yeah, [WKZ]Clan is right though mate, you were not clear enough in the original thread, but he IS one of the good guys on these pages, so it would be wise to have him on your side. If you edit the original message stating you believe there is more to Maxis, and list the thoughts you have on how to achieve this, then people will understand it more. It worth your while man, because you are actually really smart, and I think you may be onto something (minor or major), so this is the site you definitely want to push it on. -
**Tower of babble** Maxis quotes analyzed** Need Help!!
DeathBringerZen replied to Mr.Dr.Professor.Sir's topic in TranZit
Hey man. I see you have brought your theory over to these pages also. You will definitely find people more approachable on here, as this site has a lot of story enthusiasts and they are also a lot more friendly. You should probably go into detail on it more though, by stating more clearly that you... BELIEVE THERE IS MORE TO THE MAXIS SIDE THAT WHAT WE KNOW ALREADY! Most people on here though, like the Activision forum, have felt let down by Tranzit, and have given up the hope there can be anything else until all DLC is in place. Things that made us hope for more were the Navcard and Table, but they appear to be accounted for now. The orbs and the beams also made us believe there HAD to be more, but nothing has come from them either. When I spoke with you, I genuinely believe that the missing Maxis quotes still need to be accounted for, and DO tie in with the ToB more than a continuation, and you, along with Reaper2009 are the closest I have seen to getting anything more out of it. I still believe Tranzit holds secrets in it's current state, and I actively encourage you to continue hunting, despite any negativity that comes your way. If you find nothing, so what... I enjoyed every minute of my hunt. -
Old Zombie Maps For BO2
DeathBringerZen replied to Gingervitus101's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Well, they have incorporated an in-game shop, and we have already seen NTZ for sale at 400MS points for the single map, so no reason why they would not add older maps into here for purchase. They are only going to be making money from the zombie community through the DLC, so why not go down this road. Many a slayer out there would love to add to their leaderboards while playing maps like Kino, Der Riese, Ascension or Moon. Treyarch want to make money, and they have over a years life in BO2 after all DLC is in place. I reckon they WILL offer us old maps through the store. It would be foolish not to. -
Proof that Paris may be a DLC map?
DeathBringerZen replied to SirPlasticDucky's topic in Mob of the Dead
Ah... apologies. I kind of went off course in order to explain the history of the Moon map originally being planned as a Paris location, and then the possibility of it being redone for the future. -
Proof that Paris may be a DLC map?
DeathBringerZen replied to SirPlasticDucky's topic in Mob of the Dead
No disrespect, but MANY a person predicted a prison map. It was kind of an inevitability eventually. The Paris map idea is a possibility though. It was the initial plan for Moon, but from all the little bits of information I could gather on it, it seems the cancelled it due to restriction with the engine/console, but they have progressed a lot since then, so we may see Paris again after all. If they planned on using Paris before, then it must have been due to having something impressive planned with that area. -
Potential Explanation for the Flickering Perks
DeathBringerZen replied to Taklok's topic in Mob of the Dead
BOOM! That is a major loophole in the theory right there. Shame, because it had potential. -
Well mate, we are still waiting to see what PTG reveal for their 'Grande Finale' on MotD, so we will soon see if it is in relation to this or not.
-
I hear that man. Even the Activision forum has people bashing each other every day. Benn has something, but my reckoning is that it is NOT as major as he is making out it is, and his little 6 part series is just his way at inflating his ego, and trolling the community. Pfft...
-
Phew... that took a LONG time to read through, but as usual mate, you did it well. I am sure Benn was trolling about the bells though, seeing as he put out a tweet afterwards, stating that us 'scum' took the bait over on the CoD forums, and now he would move ahead with the real reveal. Guy has issues. SMH Anyway... another fantastic thread mate. Really enjoyed the history lessons here. :)
