Black Ops 3 Achievements Revealed
DeathBringerZen replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
I agree it doesn't look that bad but my point is that even with the tabs, this info is going to be everywhere very quickly and people will hear about it either way. Users will mention it in other threads or in chat inadvertently. Some things are just hard to shy away from unless you choose to go off the grid, which most won't. In an ideal world it would be good to avoid spoilers but it's near impossible these days. It will be even more disappointing if it turns out DOA2 is an unlockable mode as all surprise will be lost. -
Black Ops 3 Achievements Revealed
DeathBringerZen replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
Because as I mention above, any reply to that particular achievement would also require spoiler tabs and pretty much the majority of the discussion would be censored, and let's face it... you would have to be literally living under a rock not to hear about Dead Ops 2, whether it be from another social media outlet or from another member in chat or over Skype so what you are asking for seems reasonable from the offset but is irrelevant in reality. When I say irrelevant, I mean because you would hear about it regardless of a tab or not. As for the assumption that I did not fully read the thread, I can assure you I read all of it and picked out your particular quote for the reasons listed above. As for a leaks policy thread, I assumed we had already made it known but I am sure we can arrange it, but it will be short... 'If known Activision affiliates, ie: CharlieINTEL, Liam, Milo or major Youtubers are discussing it openly then so are we. If it is obviously sensitive information or content that has been illegally obtained or leaked and is not being discussed by the aforementioned channels then it will be removed.' -

I will be on Xbox One mate. Not sure about Adam but I know a lot of the regulars I run with will also be on X1 irregardless of DLC exclusively on PS4 or not. -
Black Ops 3 Achievements Revealed
DeathBringerZen replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
With all due respect, if the thread is an achievement thread then every comment posted would require being in spoiler tabs as any discussion within the thread would be regarding the achievements so ideally if you didn't want to know about certain things it would be wise to avoid the thread completely. You would find it very difficult not to press on a spoiler tab sometimes anyway. With regards to the no leak policy in place, we have already said on several occasions now that if any major affiliate of Activision is openly discussing this then we are too. The achievements have been discussed by said affiliates now so pretty much everywhere outside of this site is well aware of Dead Ops returning so in all fairness this is not really a debate we should be having. Twitter, Facebook, Youtube... it's rife with spoilers for these achievements. I cannot see how these things are now considered leaks? I still strongly disagree with allowing discussions or postings on stuff like leaked images, loading screens, map details and other stuff that is obviously sensitive but the achievements for every single game that comes out on console always get leaked early and it was no different with the BO2 achievements so really, this shouldn't be the big deal that some think it is. -
Black Ops 3 Achievements Revealed

I was not meaning any of the members here either (who were previously a part of the PTG community), but Benn was notorious for calling both maps by those names and it spread throughout the rest of the zombie community. Either way, I am not pointing fingers or accusing anyone specific, just saying it is petty and pathetic to continue using such terms for the maps. We are better than this here at CoDZ and despite the maps being poorly recieved by many we still respect Treyarch and their work here and would prefer not to see such terms used is all. I think we all know how poor both map are by now without having to belittle them. -

DeathBringerZen replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
I was not meaning you directly Alex but the first wave of 'Transhit' & 'Trashtown' renaming on a wider scale started over on PTG and their community started plastering it everywhere. Both maps where definitely poor in comparison to older maps but I would like to think this website is better than having it's users resort to childish antics. It's vulgar looking and instantly brings down the users post when you see things like that. -

The zombie team nor Jimmy were ever the intended leads on MotD or Origins and he was not pushed aside at any stage. The campaign team were always the intended lead for MotD and Origins, just as they were with Der Riese and Shangri La. I am not sure where you are getting this from but if you have a source on it I would love to read it. -

Completely agree. Sick of seeing the PTG generation tainting the forum with their stupid play-on-words names for maps. I liked Tranzit. Was a bit too empty for a map of it's size but I spent 2 good months on that map. Nuketown is trash in my opinion but I will not lower myself to calling it 'Trashtown'. People need to grow up a little and just accept that not everyone agree's with or wishes to use silly names vile and ignorant Youtuber's came up with. -
"Nero Blackstone" & "Shadow Man" - Character Inspirations
DeathBringerZen replied to PINNAZ's topic in Shadows of Evil
When I was at the Glasgow Comic-Con on Saturday past, I stood at the front of the stage while Robert Picardo was getting interviewed at at one point the interviewer discussed his role in the Call of Duty series (apparently he has voiced in other BO or CoD titles) and they asked him about his role in Black Ops 3 to which he replied... "Unlike my previous roles in the series, this time around I am a character within the zombie mode. A shadowy figure aptly named 'The Shadow Man'. I cannot say too much about the role as I am sworn to secrecy but my character is an unseen figure who guides these 4 damned characters who are trapped in hell set to the backdrop of a city set in the 1940's. It's a brilliantly dark film noir setting." "The one thing I can say though is that my character likes to give out advice and it is not always wise to listen or follow their orders". That is all he said before they moved back on to his TV and film work. I did take note that he said the characters were trapped in hell, which kind of makes sense that it is tied to MotD but could just be him meaning the game just being a hellish nightmare of sorts. Then there is him saying the character gives out advice that should not always be followed. Makes me think he will be the narrator of this map. Not overly related to the thread but worth a mention nonetheless. -
The only thing that bothers me in this announcement is that Shadows of Evil will also be on last gen, meaning the map may not be as big or ambitious as I had hoped for if it is capable of running on last gen. Maybe it will just be a dumbed down survival map based on SoE with the characters, voices etc but not the same map.I hope so anyway. Aside from that, I personally think that this reeks of a desperate cash grab by ATVI and really they should have just left it at Advanced Warfare. No annual CoD on previous gen may actually have helped shift people over to next (or current if you are "that guy") gen quicker.

NUK3TOWN PREORDER BONUS MAP
DeathBringerZen replied to RedDeadRiot's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
The underground area in the cornfield was actually a misquote from the Reza Elghazi interview. You know... the one which also had the Tranzit "endgame" quote as well. lol Basically I think Reza wasn't completely clear on the layout or plans for Tranzit when he did that interview and the underground area in the cornfield is actually the lab at power. This can be proven as you can no clip under the cornfield area and there is nothing at all. Yes, areas can load into blank areas but there is usually at least a few stray models still visible and unfortunately there is nothing under the corn fields at all. As for the "endgame" thing... I think that was just an idea they had floating around the office, no doubt inspired by the custom mapping scenes buyable ending system. They probably thought early in development they wanted to try it out but ended up saving it for MotD and Origins as it would go against the idea for the N4 characters storyline to end a map and win. Reza even tweeted out months after BO2 came out that if there was any other secrets still to be found relating to a major EE then sworn to secrecy or not, someone would eventually spill the beans which to me confirms that all major quest related EE's have been found already and any undiscovered eggs are minor and probably only references to things the dev's would probably get. -
NUK3TOWN PREORDER BONUS MAP
DeathBringerZen replied to RedDeadRiot's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
Someone from Treyarch definitely did say it. I specifically remember reading an interview by a dev regarding it and even linked it on this very forum during a discussion with MMX who also doubted it many months ago. The interviewer asked how they would port over the fan favorite MP map to adapt into becoming a zombie map and they said that obviously due to it's small size that they would be looking to expand it somewhat, and maybe feature an underground section or expansion to Trinity Avenue. It was not rumor as I proved by spending hours upon hours searching for that interview just to prove it to MMX. They may have changed their plans due to time constraints or the interview was done early in the maps development but released later after it was officially announced but that does not take away from the fact that they did say the plan was to make it bigger in scale to adapt more to the zombie mode. -
NUK3TOWN PREORDER BONUS MAP
DeathBringerZen replied to RedDeadRiot's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
It's funny you should say that because when I was playing with @CovertGunman on the beta during a match on Combine I said that the map reminded me of Nuketown. It had two buildings you spawn behind and within seconds you are in the center of the map or flanking the sides and engaged in combat. With a map like Combine there was no need for another Nuketown in my opinion. It would have replaced it in the communities eyes as the new small and hectic map to get some quick kills in. Unfortunately it will now most likely be overshadowed by the Nuk3town map. I also am quite sure we will see more reimaginings adapted to fit the new in-game mechanics. One I would be happy to see though is the much rumored Moon MP remake. I think it would be amazing to play MP in Griffin Station. Hell, I would not be against the idea of several zombie maps becoming MP maps but originality would be my preferred choice though. -
Dunno if it was mentioned before, but the "Don't go hunting" part... What if it have something to do with "Hunter's Cabin"? The "If you go there now something will be up and running...But stay to the path. Don't go hunting." Tweet was regarding the leaderboards which were down/offline for around 3 days. He posted this tweet at the same time they went back up/online. They first Tweet still bothers me though to this day. I couldn't match it up with anything. Another tweet that also still bothers me to this day was Jimmy's... "if you have been there but don't go back, then how do you know? If it can open but you don't open it, how will you know? Follow the signs to" Still though... I have never seen anything come from any of Jimmy's trolling tweets and as nothing has been found in the coding to suggest an EE in Nuketown (which it seems to relate to), I just take it as him trying to get people to play the game rather than him genuinely helping us discover lost EE's.

NUK3TOWN PREORDER BONUS MAP
DeathBringerZen replied to RedDeadRiot's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
The term "fan favorite" is thrown around far too loosely nowadays by Call of Duty Developers. Although I definitely agree that the original BO1 Nuketown was a personal favorite of mines, I was not so big on Nuketown 2025 nor Nuketown Zombies. They have had 3 years to make this game. Why are we getting any remakes or reimaginings? I can understand the Der Riese remake to tie in with the zombies storyline but come on... surely they could just make a newer, more imaginative close quarter map than could become the new Nuketown in the eyes of fans. Yes I am still keen on seeing what they do with the new map and maybe it will surprise us but I won't lie when I say I am pretty disappointed to see them going down this route again and expect each DLC to feature more MP "fan favorites" getting the 'too lazy to be creative' reskin/reimagining. Ever since BO2 through to Ghosts and AW it's been remake after remake after remake. Either be creative and make brand new maps or just release all of these fan favorites on a separate DLC or stand alone product. -
Could there be a third zombie map or mode on launch?
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in General Discussion
Well from inspection I have not seen any of the CharlieINTEL threads on these data mines being taken down, only videos that show the actual coding or play any of the audio files so I think even ATVI are aware that these things are too wide spread now to demand people stop discussing them but are still actively striking any channels showing any of the content. The problem with these kind of leaks is that there is community members who don't wish to have the game spoilt for them by reading any of this stuff or listening to the audio files so obviously we don't want to spoil it for those members and may have to insist on spoilers being added to threads discussing and early leaks. Asides from 4-5 perk jingles I did not read up on any of the coding leaks or listen to any other audio clip. Didn't really have the time and was not overly interested either. Not much you can take from the coding seeing as BO2 had a shit ton that never got used and pointed towards much more within Tranzit for example that never got used so it's hard to judge what is and what is not going to actually be used. Seems official now though that we will be getting another Nuketown MP map, titled Nuk3town 2065. Also hearing that it looks 99% certain we will be getting a zombie campaign mode now too. This is about all I have taken in outside of the jingles. Also heard today from a few Twitter accounts that we are supposedly getting a zombies beta next month. I will believe that when I see it though. -
Could there be a third zombie map or mode on launch?
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in General Discussion
As long as CharlieINTEL is reporting on in then we can discuss it but I think it's safe to say we will not be allowing any direct links to these audio files as long as Treyarch or Activision are pulling them down. It''s a bit hard not to discuss it though seeing as the entire community has already either heard or are aware of their existence and are discussing it everywhere else. -
Could there be a third zombie map or mode on launch?
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in General Discussion
http://charlieintel.com/2015/08/27/new-details-on-zombies-leaked-in-bo3-beta-pc-files-theater-mode-campaign-references-and-more/ So it seems the PC files may be pointing towards a campaign mode or story mode within Black Ops 3 zombies after all, with the PC coding having been data mined. This could of course just be unused code but if there is going to be a campaign mode, and I am sure there is, then I doubt it will be on SoE or The Giant, so could this be more evidence to suggest a 3rd map or mode on launch? I think so... -
Destinys LFG site(s) are hugely popular considering they are a relatively new thing and I am pretty confident that a zombie LFG site would be equally successful. Think about it, how many wasted hours have you and other slayers spent searching public lobbies for a legitimate team? Scouring for people with mics and when you find a group you then try to work out whether you have time for a proper game or people to do an EE with? This will cut out all of that and people will be able to instantly match up with an appropriate group to do whatever they are looking to do. If you want to do an EE desperately you could find a group within minutes rather than trying to arrange it for 2-3 days away. Zombies has grown to the point that Activision are trying to emulate it across other developers Call of Duty titles and I think it is a small cost to try and bring this into fruition. The change it brings to finding games versus going into public lobbies should be enough to warrant people backing the idea alone.

Yep, this is an epic idea for sure. Imagine having seperate catagories for World at War, Black Ops, BlackOps 2 and Black Ops 3. Map specific sections, Easter egg lobbies, casual and high round team finders. We could even cover custom zombies. This is a no brainer and something that will prove to be hugely popular is a very short space of time. I look forward to seeing this come to fruition.

This is what also bothered me when I watched @Rissole25 video. As soon as I saw the binary code it made me instantly think this was the same guy who was doing all the trolling back during on season who was always putting out cryptic binary posts over on the ATVI forums. I think it is safe to say that this is definitely a troll now. All the hallmarks are there and no one known to the community has managed to replicate it. Amazing work on the originators part though. Hope it was worth the mild coverage it got at best.

Amazingly worded post that is perfectly fitting. I have not interacted with Kieran as munch as I would have liked to but I have spent countless hours reading some of his amazing threads and his contribution towards CoDZ has been incredible through the years. Definitely a legend around these parts.
-
Great read @Shooter The one thing that bothered me about the Giant trailer was that it took the MTD for Origins Richtofen to show up, so how did the Origins Tank, Nikolai & Takeo get there? Could the EE relate to freeing the O3 test subjects? I am really keen to see where The Giant takes the storyline.
-
That is a pretty good point. I am going to jump into a game of Tranzit now to try this out myself. I will edit a clip and watch it back. If it does not display the 'Round 1' lettering on the screen from where I start the edit then we could just have busted this once and for all. Trolls always tend to leave a mistake behind and that could very well be the error we need to finally debunk this one. edit: Tried it and couldn't get it to work so I am still unclear on whether or not this is real. Could be linked to which EE you have completed prior. I believe Maxis gives you drops at the tower and Richtofen does not, so it could be a bonus EE for a side you are aligned to, but the more I look into this the more I am thinking it is fake. Only people to show it working are complete unknowns. Not a single person I know has replicated this so until we have accurate steps or concrete proof then I am done with this one.

The thing about modded lobbies is that all the modified game-save file does is allow access to the in-game console that then allows players to use various console commands on the fly, like God mode, noclip, infinite ammo, flying etc but these mods cannot allow the player to add new effects like the fire engulfing, the monkey bomb explosion effect or the spawning of portal and where they take you. I have now seen 3 videos of people claiming to have gotten this to work an all 3 are different videos from one and other so there is definitely something about this that could suggest it is indeed real. Again, if not then the guy who make it is pretty damn clever but I am still inclined to believe it could be legit.
