Could there be a third zombie map or mode on launch?
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in General Discussion
It still does not explain the clothing on the person looking more modern and the poster not fitting the theme of SoE which is as Treyarch stated, a homage to the gothic film noir style of movies from that era. It looks like nothing like a film noir poster nor does it referrence SoE or Morg City. The symbol on the card could feature in all maps so just because it is on a characters hand doesn't mean it is map specifc. As for the campaign mode, Why would they have mentioned it by now? If previous track records are to be used then that is the last thing they would do considering they normally keep all zombie content secret until the last few months. The SoE and Giant reveal were pretty early this time around and I fully expect a campaign mode to still surface. In the style of Nightmare Voyager, nothing is confirmed or denied so lets just wait and see shall we. ;) -
Coming from someone who is a part of the custom scene and aware of how modding works, even you must admit that if this was a troll it would require some serious skill and talent to pull it off. Especially as BO2 is not moddable in this way. It is by far the best troll I have ever seen in my whole time troll busting in this community. I have seen some amazing work and been able to find faults in them but this just looks incredible. Kudos to the guy either way. Seems weird to go to such effort just for a troll though.

Could there be a third zombie map or mode on launch?
DeathBringerZen replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in General Discussion
My point exactly. There is no way that the 'Only the cursed survive' poster was in anyway linked to SoE. The character and clothing do not even match for a start and secondly it does not even look like a picture that would fit the theme of the map. The RKLSS picture I still feel is also linked to this 3rd map/mode and not just a "sex sells" t-shirt. If so why would it be a part of the Black Ops 3 t-shirt range and not Black Ops 2, ie: being Misty's ass. The early reveal of the 2 already known maps convinces me even more that when they said "this will be the most ambitious zombies yet", they mean it. I still expect a zombie campaign mode to surface and it to revolve around these images. -
This is what bothers me the most. The video shows something that looks pretty damn legit, and with no mod tools available for BO2 this kind of thing would require some pretty damn good skills with special effects software to make, and for what, a small troll? I am still convinced this could be real, and if not then what an absolute waste of time (and talent) making something so trivial.

It is still as of yet unconfirmed and could still be a troll. Looks the part, but then again the community has been fooled with impressive looking fakes before.

So it seems that a new Easter egg has been found on Tranzit. Yeah, no shit! Reddit user reseaux made the following thread explaining what he did with a video link showing it in action. I have not tried this myself so as yet I am only assuming it is legit but it sure as hell looks like it. If true then kudos to reseaux for the find. https://www.reddit.com/r/CODZombies/comments/3gdvbw/new_tranzit_easter_egg_found/

Ok, so up till now we have had the reveal of Shadows of Evil and the bonus map The Giant. Without buying a special edition the stock map would be Shadows of Evil and our main storyline getting a map that is potentially one not everyone would obtain and with it not being a stock map then it means the storyline is either no longer important and is being concluded with The Giant to appease those who set themselves on fire after completing Origins. With that being said, a few things bother me. One is that I cannot really see the Shadows of Evil map carrying on in DLC so is it just another bonus map and we are still to see what the real map and new story mode is going to be? Two major hints we have been give but not overly discussed are as follows... RCKLSS T-Shirt Only the cursed survive What we have here is 2 zombie related images that were revealed that do not coincide with anything we have seen before, so are they linked to another zombie map or mode? The assumption is that the above image could be Misty. Whether it is or not, it's definitely not Heather Graham and not a character from The Giant obviously, so is the mystery woman linked to the 'Only the cursed survive' map or mode? It seemed very strange to be getting a celebrity "break-away" map on launch and my guess is that this map is just an addition that is designed to beef up the zombie content and the real reveal has yet to happen. I am expecting a new map or mode that will be linked to these images. Any thoughts?

Yeah it would be a good chance to actually get the channel up and running properly, especially during on-season though we should really stream anything up until then. We all game so no reason not to stream while doing it. Get's the channel some air time. @Craig I love it mate. Looks good and I think will prove to be a popular edition during the on-season.

So, what were the spires for? -Speculation-
DeathBringerZen replied to Tattoo247's topic in The Giant
Well you are actually when you chose to reply to my comment debating on whether the story was poorly executed, and if you don't want the thread to go off-topic then why did you even reply to me if the first place then with an off-topic comment? Also, just because the events of BO2 may not have been pointless in your eyes does not make it factual. You are entitled to your opinion though. -

So, what were the spires for? -Speculation-
DeathBringerZen replied to Tattoo247's topic in The Giant
The original idea for the spires from Tranzit is unlikely to be the same idea they concluded with in Buried. I am pretty sure they didn't really know what they were planning with them and just threw out some half-assed purpose towards the end. Richtofen tells us in Tranzit "Hurry, or the dam Maxis built will destroy you all". This dam is no longer mentioned again, nor is the repolarization device Maxis mentions to us. It could be they were just lying to us but the spires definitely feel like some worthless addition to the storyline. The three spires are in locations that match where the rockets hit. We power them so that either Richtofen can repair the rift or so Maxis can enter Agartha. Why we need to return to Tranzit after collecting the navcard on Buried to activate the tower in Greenrun just to return to Buried to finish the end-game is the reason I believe it was half-assed. Why have us go to Greenrun just to enter a card in the machine and quit out is stupid. Then there was the very poorly edited and rushed feeling end games. The Richtofen end-game was a rehash of the Moon ending, with Richtofen once again gaining God like powers and erasing Maxis from existence, or Maxis getting his way and destroying the world... again, all while played out in a very unsatifying and horribe way where we listen to One of these Two speak only to wait a few seconds to hear a response from the other. It was a dark moment for the zombie team and most likely the reason Zielinski parted ways with Treyarch. The N4 storyline was a tragic mess that offered very little in the way of mystery and instead sent us on a wild goose chase powering towers with no real purpose. Their existence (The N4) has very little significance to our story and the EE's were no different. They told no story while we carried them out and gave us very little to add to the story Once complete. -
You can play any disc based X1 game offline without an internet connection. Title updates are not necessary to play anything. How would a console even know you needed a title update if it's not online. Point being even if you have started a title update and it cuts out midway, you can delete the title update and continue playing offline.

It's probably Gersch or Yuri, but whoever it is, it definitely isn't Marlton. It's Yuri or the left of the Ascension poster and it is Gersch on the right hand side getting trapped inside the Kasimir Mechanism by Yuri. It resembles Marlton but it's not him.

Zombies "Campaign"?: Reaction Thread
DeathBringerZen replied to GRILL's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
We're not locking the topic just because you feel we should. Why should it be locked anyway? and what makes you so sure there won't be a campaign mode? This is a forum where we discuss things related to zombies and discussions on whether there will or will not be a campaign mode are welcome. -
Zombies "Campaign"?: Reaction Thread
DeathBringerZen replied to GRILL's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
Well the description of the video has now changed and they have removed the "All-new zombie campaign mode" with "All-new zombie mode", so either this is designed to hide the fact there will be One or simply because there will not be One and it was a misprint. If they did include a campaign mode then I think @RedDeadRiot is right and it will be more of a challenge based mode where we do similar tasks to that of MotD and Origins but on a grander scale that unlocks more of what we are doing and why we are there in the first place. I can't see how a campaign mode along the lines of a normal CoD campaign could work in zombies anyway, so either a quest based mode or a Left 4 Dead style progression of areas is my guess. -
When is it to late to get access to the Beta?
DeathBringerZen replied to ViolentVoltage's topic in Multiplayer
Like previous Beta's that required codes, expect the BO3 beta to go public after 48 hours. They did it with a few games previously and I expect them to do the same this time around also. They just offer it exclusively to people who preorder special editions so as to boost sales prior to actually allowing the beta to go live. -
they didn't say that anywhere in the interview did they? I watched the whole thing but all i remember relating to zombies is more about it's origins and not any new info about BO3 zombies Not that I heard, no, but based on other info we have gathered like the monorail system, which would suggest a BIG map to hold something like that I wouldn't be surprised. I have actually been told a while back now that there was going to be a campaign mode this time around. Won't start pushing that one though as I don't want to drag up the whole "Who told you this then, your dog?" thing again. Everything I have been told so far has been true though so I am expecting this to be also.

It never happened in Germany...
DeathBringerZen replied to SupremeJJ's topic in Research & Development
He did, yes. He totally used the American's by pretending to give them these exclusives over teleportation and wonder weapons in exchange for funding something that would make his betrayal meaningless in the end. He used them for funding to get access to the MPD which he was fully aware of since teleporting to it and touching it, gaining knowledge of what it was and what it does, while poisoning his mind in the process. He gave the Americans all his scientific secrets in exchange for something greater. They were not aware of that of course but with his advancements in science who were they to think anything more sinister was behind it all. They funded him and he eventually gained access to the MPD through it. They were heavily involved, albeit mislead in the process. Either way, my point stands. He tricked them in the 60's but even then, if we had moved back to Griffin Station after Shangri La I find it highly unlikely it would have been from 2000+ onwards because I find it unlikely the American's would not have used the Nevada teleporter to take over Griffin Station and claim it as their own. ie: Moon was supposed to be set in the 60's. -

Richtofen gave the Americans the secrets to the teleporters and wonder weapons in exchange for funding for Griffin Station so he could get access to the MPD because Maxis refused to fund the development of such things. That is the reason for the map Five and why he has a portrait in the Defcon room. They funded the whole project. Why do you think it's there, and why else would the teleporter be in Nevada rather than in Germany? -
It never happened in Germany...
DeathBringerZen replied to SupremeJJ's topic in Research & Development
There is no sign of the Americans having been there since the actual construction of Griffin Station, nor is there any sign of them having used the teleporter to travel there and take over or even upgrade the station. Considering there has been a teleporter in Nevada since at least the 60's and 30+ years having past since the Die Rise poster I find it very unlikely that the U.S. Government would not have taken hold of Griffin Station well before then. Also, when you say "suspend out disbelief", that is the problem with the zombie storyline. How can we suspend our belief/disbelief when we pick at the littlest of things? As a community we scrutinize every little detail so why should we suddenly discount something as major as this one? In my own personal opinion, Moon was supposed to be set in the 60's but it got messed up because the heirarchy failed to actually pay proper attention to the storyline and fucked it up along the way. If it was undisputably supposed to be set in 2000+ then they failed to take into account a major factor that would go against the storyline. 30 years of having a teleporter to the Moon is a LONG time to clear the station of infection and discover (and use) the MPD. -

DeathBringerZen replied to SupremeJJ's topic in Research & Development
Yeah, but these events you talk of only happened when BO2 came out and pretty much messed the storyline and timeline up. Before the confusing Tranzit and Die Rise everything was easier to understand. They just messed things up to the point where we now assume Moon did take place around 2025. This is why people start coming up with multiple timelines and pockets of time in bubble crap. What Die Rise has done is confuse the situation. Tranzit to an extent but Die Rise more so because the city used (assumed to be Shanghai) was clearly still unaffected until at least 1996 onwards so we are forced into accepting that Moon takes place later or there is indeed multiple timeslines. Neither of which I am completely satified with. How would it even be guaranteed that the computers or power would still work after at least 60+ years since they were installed in Griffin Station? or that the Americans would not have since been there and took over? In my opinion they fucked up the storyline when they decided to make it that far into the future. Outbreaks of zombies in different areas of the world over a 60-80 year period? It just seems really silly to me.
