I like it! Be sure to post a picture of the completed project, I'm sure many of us would like to see it. Myself included. :D
-
Yeah man no dice. Still a great effort though, they do look similar. I still give you props.
-
My name comes out as 666. I was also born on 6/6 so in 2006 it was 6/6/06.

Hey now I like Green Run, still play it every once in awhile. Somebody on my friends list beat my record so I'm gonna have to play the hell out of it to reclaim my #1 spot. I may just have to bite the bullet and say that Mob of the Dead is my favorite map. I like the dead bodies everywhere and the atmosphere it has. Reminds me of playing Diablo 2 when I was younger for some reason. The first time I played it, it blew my mind pretty good. 8-)

Its crazy to think that after BOII is over, the next time I'll be playing zombies will be on either the PS4 or the next Xbox. Maybe with Illumiroom? I wonder if the next gen consoles are going to be impressive. And I'm sure we'll get more Zombies. Would be awesome if Treyarch branched off and made a stand-alone zombies game. I would play the shit out of that.

Here's mine.

This really is an incredible guide! Thank you. :D
-
Thank you for the support! I'll have to try that out, would be good because that way you are not wasting your afterlives in the early rounds. Sounds really interesting and if you can get Jugg on round 2 with 5k leftover I will definitely add it to the thread! Thanks for that bit of info, time to experiment. Added the "Icarus" and "Golden Spork" sections. Also did a little misc. editing and revising. 5/14/13 added "High Round Strategies" and "Hell's Redeemer" sections. Did more editing and revising. Changed the intro banner also. If you want you can submit a high round strategy area and I will add it to the appropriate section!
-
Great strategy man! This is pretty much the same as mine except I do the infirmary dog first, then go get jug. Plus I never really utilized the Acid trap, will be sure to try that now! Seems like it would be MUCH easier. I will usually get downed because of the zombies pouring in through the entrance.
-
I wouldn't mind having a few CoDZ members on my friends list. My friends list has a bunch of people but only a handful play zombies. Send me a message if you like, I'd like to get down! Also want to get the EE for die rise and MotD if anybody wants to. Thanks for this strategy also, sounds like it would be fun! Props for writing it out!
-
Really good strategy man! Enjoyed reading it. Will give the fan trap a shot, never used it before. Oh and welcome to CoDz man! Hope to see you around!
-
Just added the first revision of the guide. Haven't gotten around to adding any strategies yet. Once again if you have a solo strategy you want added, post it here and I will do my best to add it when I have time!
-
Interesting. Certainly was a good read man! Hope others can chime in because I want to see what other people speculate .
-
Definitely am! My main goal is to get the strategy that I can really understand and make it as simple as possible. Multiple strategies are welcome also and will be added when I have time. I'm thinking about tinkering with the structure a little bit this time around. Maybe add in a definitive "starting" section, then have an actual strategy for after you complete the starting section? That's where I could put my strategy, your strategy, and whoever else's strategy that collaborates with this thread.

Welcome to my Mob of the Dead solo strategy guide! This guide will be following the same format as my last guides so if you enjoyed those ones, I'm sure you'll like this one too. This map has a bunch of different things going on, and I will do my best to completely explain everything. It took me awhile to figure out how this map works on my own, and I am still perfecting the strategy, but I wanted to get it up on CoDZ. Hope you enjoy it! Note: This guide is currently a work in progress. There are 3 seperate workbenches in Mob of the Dead. Unlike the previous zombies map, you are able to build at any of the workbenches. Their locations are the Cafeteria, Docks, and the Cell Block. Also, there is an extra workbench in this map, there are only 2 buildables that require workbenches. Also, there are 2 different buildable items (3 including the plane). They are the Acid Gat Kit, and the Zombie Shield. In order to get Hell's Retriever, you are going to need to feed the 3 hound heads the come out of the walls at certain locations. All you need to do is kill zombies until it dissapears and leaves a red aura around the marking on the wall. The three areas the hounds are located is the Cell Block, the Docks, and the Infirmary. You can then retrieve your Hell's Retriever by visiting the Citadel Tunnels. Just keep following the hallway and if you fed the 3 hounds, then you will have no problem finding it! If you are having trouble making trains or getting to high rounds in general, this guide has some amazing techniques that work for dodging zombies. Thank Ehjookayted! In order to get a free blundergat, you are going to need to use Hell's Retreiver on 5 skulls. A free blundergat appears on the desk in the Waren's Office. Here are the five locations for the skulls. 1. Right outside of the Library. Inside of a cell sitting on a toilet. 2. Another is outside the window next to the Speed Cola in the Warden's Office. 3. The third is on the building next to you when you are on the Roof. It is on the corner of the other building. 4. The fourth is on a pillar next to the boat on the Docks. 5. The final skull is near the Jug machine. You will need to throw it up at a light post in the corner. You can also get it from the Gondola. Icarus is the plane that is located on the roof. There are 5 parts scattered throughout the map. You have an advantage playing solo, which is you are able to lug around all the plane parts at once. You will need the Warden's Key in order to obtain the parts. Here are the locations for each of parts. 1. The first plane part you want to get is the Uniforms. It is located in the Showers, near the Cafeteria. You are going to want to open the door and then power the washing machine. 2. The second part is at the Spiral Staircase. You are going to want to go into Afterlife at the top and remember what numbers are on the walls as you go down to the number machine. Enter the numbers in and take the part. 3. The third part is on the Docks. Open up the fence with the Warden's Key. Shock the box and then revive yourself, grab the part and leave. 4. The fourth part is in the Warden's Office. To get this part you will need to shut off the generators in the Generator Room. There are 3 generators. 5. The final part is in the Infirmary. It is very simple and right next to the door to the Roof. The Hell's Redeemer is an upgraded version of the Hell's Retriever. It is very simple to get and not hard at all as long as you do it fairly early in the game. I'd recommend putting Icarus together and doing this by round 15. It's possible afterwards it will just take longer. You are going to need to visit the Bridge in order to get Hell's Redeemer. You have to remember to not to shoot any bullets or use anything other than the Hell's Retriever. This is super important otherwise you will not be able to get it. I like to stay two full rounds on the bridge using only the retriever. It won't take long you just need to watch out because the fog is hard to see through sometimes. Make your train next to the PaP machine. Use the electric chair and arrive back at Alcatraz. While you are running back to your training location, toss your Hell's Redeemer into the lava pool underneath the first hound location. You will not get your retriever back and it will be blinking on your HUD. This is a good thing. Now you need to start a new round after you threw the hatchet into the lava pool. Go into the Showers. Use the power box to shock yourself into purgatory mode. Head towards the room that has the Hell's Retriever. What's that? You should be able to pick it up while in purgatory. Enjoy it! The redeemer appears to be insta-kill forever. I personally went to round 80 and it was a big part of clearing the rounds fast! The Golden Spork is a fantastic addition to anyone's arsenal. It is also very simple to get. You just have to make sure you have already been to the Bridge at least one time and have Hell's Retriever Head towards the Citadel Tunnels and Warden's Office. Once you are there, turn around. On your left there should be a movie poster inside one of the cells. Throw your Hell's Retriever at it. It should unveil a hole and an afterlife symbol should be on the other side. Use the power box to go into afterlife mode. There should be a new hallway on your left. Enter it and you should see a spoon on the ground next to a crack. Shock it and make sure it disappears. Head towards the Cafeteria. Once inside the Cafeteria, head towards the back. Inside the are where the zombies spawn in, there should be a new spoon located on the table to the left. Throw your retriever at it and you should loot it. What seems to work next is getting kills with the Vitriolic Withering inside the Showers. You will hear an indicator when you finish. It will sound like a laughing zombie. Find the room with the bloody bathtub. Approach the tub and press the use button (X for x360). Your spoon should have stirred the blood. Press the use button once again and your Golden Spork should pop out! The spork is said to be a one hit kill up to rounds 30+. Mob of the Dead is a great and very fun map. Treyarch did a good job with this DLC and I am thoroughly enjoying the experience. This just makes me more excited for the next DLC zombie maps! Have fun everybody. Once again this thread is not finished yet. Feel free to post your strategy and if I see it as completed and functional, I will add it to the strategies section. Questions/Comments? | Post them here!

First Impression on Mob of the Dead/Alcatraz Island?
Sluggo replied to Tac's topic in Mob of the Dead
I found it to be pretty damn awesome. I really like the dark and dungeon-esque the artwork went with this DLC. Reminds me of something out of Fallout or Diablo, in a good way. I always preferred games that are full of torture chambers and monsters, so this DLC hits home for me. Its interesting too that they added the GUI for parts, unless they added it to all zombie modes, haven't played the other DLC's in quite a while. Overall, this is a great addition and I am enjoying the DLC. Hoping to get to a decent round and find my way around soon enough! 8-) -
Yeah I now always build the trample steam, just because it helps so much to get the free perks from the boss zombie rounds. I feel you on not being able to post. I wrote this thread with a cigarette burning on a laptop with an awesome buzz going. Okay, I'll admit they probably are not the same circumstances as you..
-
Hell yes guys this is what I like to see. Now if you don't mind I will add those up to the top when I have some time, probably later tonight. Collaborations are the way to go on a good thread in my opinion. This site could make a google docs presentation that users can add their guides to.. Or we should just make one. Good shit.

Thank you PINNAZ! Much appreciated. It took me awhile to get a hang of Die Rise, especially when playing on old CRT TV's that are half the size of my home TV.. I lost my knife because I kept going down at such low rounds. Yeah I have been experimenting with the Sliquifier since creating the guide. In conclusion, the Sliquifier kicks major ass. And yeah, that room is so huge its very nice to get to high rounds! I have multiple people on my friends list that made it to 50+ pretty quick. Many thanks friend. Yeah there are plenty of little areas to get stuck in, as well as plenty of corners to take that help out exponentially. Anybody can feel free to post some of their methods or tips/tricks and I will gladly add them to the main thread if you so desire .

By boss zombie I meant the nova jumpers. When I wrote the guide (I had typed it in notepad part by part) I didn't know the names of things yet. I am going to change China Room into Buddha room, because it seems more wide-spread. Just like when I read "face the dragon before round 2" I had really hoped there was some type of zombie boss you could fight. Thanks dude! I would like to know what you did if you don't mind posting. I want to keep this thread updated with the fastest methods to get started. I am hoping on trying 50+ very soon also. Too bad I don't have a nice flat screen to play on during vacation! I hate old CRT TV's.. Thank you. I am planning on writing a similar guide for each of the DLC zombies maps. I have one written for Nuketown on my desktop PC at home, just seems very late to be releasing now.

Welcome to my Die Rise solo strategy guide! This guide will aide you in getting to high rounds on the new Revolution DLC zombies map, Die Rise! This map can be very confusing at times with its almost optical illusion room layouts. This guide won't teach you everything there is about Die Rise, but it will get you started in moving around and getting a grip on the new map. This will take me awhile to complete, so I hope you enjoy it! Note: This guide is currently a work in progress. I am currently on vacation and I just want to get everything written down. When I get home I will update the guide with new graphics and if a map is not completed I will try my best to put one together. Once again welcome! This strategy is fairly simple. What you are focusing on is getting to the area where you will train at, with the goal of building up a stockpile of points to get you set up for the long run. You will also be using the new wonder-weapon, the Sliquifier! Just like with the Tunnel on Green Run, the China Room is going to be one of the best on Die Rise. Hell, the China Room may just be the best area to train in all of the maps so far! I hope this area takes you to where your goal is and I hope you have plenty of fun achieving high rounds! Once again, Happy Slaying! If you noticed anything wrong with this guide/typos/whatever, feel free to leave a reply/PM and I will fix it as soon as I am able to.

No problem, the more theories the better. I am on Xbox and am going to try some more things in Tranzit. Think I may go get the Jet Gun this time and tinker around with it. PM me if anybody wants to join.
-
I was in a game where I was testing theories, and I tested yours. Nothing happened. I had the upgraded ray gun, I shot that sign, the clock in diner, the clock on the Church, and even the door that makes the beams show up. Couldn't get anything to work. By the way, by the clock on the church, are you sure thats a clock? It kind of just looks like a circle window, unless I am not looking at the right thing... If that is the case then I never shot the church clock with the X2 ray gun.

I feel if there was an alternate bus route in the game right now, it would have been discovered. I am a believer that there will be more bus routes, just in an expansion. Look at these pictures I took while in theatre mode with no fog: http://i.imgur.com/DchyM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Ub5cB.jpg The first picture, is between tunnel and diner, and the second, is between bus station and tunnel. This is how the roads would pan out on a map. http://i.imgur.com/Bem7V.png I'm betting that they will remove the barriers, then the bus will be able to take that alternate path where there may or may not be more stops. Or, it could just be a loop around the tunnel, who knows .
