  1. This map is amazing. One of their best yet, honestly I feel like it combines the best of Tranzit, Die Rise and Mob into one, yet adds its own new improvements to the table. The map feels like a combination of Mob and Die Rise, tbh. The vertical element of it is much like Die Rise, but the gameplay is much like Mob - tight passageways, little open space, lots of corners and dark places. For weapons, we get our faves from Die Rise back, but with enhanced customization as to where we want them. To make the map a bit more old western style, the Remington Model Army replaces the Python, and instead of Who's Who and afterlife, we get Time Bombs (sadly you can't have these and Monkeys together). The Time Bomb is going to prove critical for high rounds in this map, especially on Solo, I think. In a nod to Tranzit, the Paralyzer is basically a "good" Jet Gun. And, building on MotD, we have a new HUD. Also the Trample Steam and Turbine are back - each of which is the signature non-weapon buildable of their debut maps. The PaP is difficult to reach, like in Mob and TranZit. Overall I think this map is just really good overall. With the big guy as a new weapon and assistant, and with Vulture Elixir and everything else this map has to offer (along with the best BO2 EE song yet), I think this map will be popular almost as much as MotD and in my opinion it's a better map). Also considering they even brought back Turned along with Grief, it feels like they are both trying to "re-do" Green Run's flaws, and make something better than MotD by putting everyone's favorite features into one DLC, with the Ray Gun Mark 2 to boot. David Vonderhaar may have said "Uprising is Treyarch's most fan-centric DLC yet", but Vengeance has by far surpassed it.
  2. I think Lithium is right. We'll either see no extra game mode, or something new that we haven't seen before. Also, good to see you posting, M1sterPrestige.
  3. Also the Ray Gun (and Ray Gun Mark II? Some please confirm this) can't be stored in the fridges.
  4. The LSAT is confirmed for Buried. Since there will be a bank there , I'm guessing that it will be converted to a HAMR (or RPD) if stored there, when you take it out on another map.
  5. Personally I wish 3arc hadn't added this. One of my favorite things about Die Rise was that it was a hybrid of Tranzit style and traditional style maps. It had perma-perks, 2025 weapons, our new 4 and other BO2 zombie elements yet it retained that traditional feel where you had to earn all your stuff and open up the map as the game went on. With them adding these features so late, I feel like it makes it too much like Tranzit. Don't get me wrong, I like the way Tranzit is, but it felt more unique the way it was before. Just like MotD, I like each map to have a very unique feel... and I think that this late addition flies in the face of that.
  6. Once you pass the 40's, the only thing that effectively kills the monkeys other than traps is the Thundergun. Sadly... ammo becomes an issue. So use the traps as much as you can and do all you can to keep QR and Jug safe. The others don't matter. Flopper is easy to get back (though you don't need it past 40), Mule Kick is not worth bothering with, Speed Cola is alright and Staminup is fine too. Prioritize QR and Jug. That's what matters. If you run out of Thundergun ammo, you can also shoot at the monkeys to get their attention and try to lead all of them out to a trap.
  7. I've been thinking the same thing. Also, I'm gonna bet the next DLC pack's name starts with "I".
  8. The SVU is certainly the best wall weapon in Zombies. The only others that even come remotely close are the Thompson (not MotD version) and the AN-94. What sets the SVU on a whole other level is the combination of its amazing power and its huge ammo capacity. As others have stated, no other wall weapon has ever shown itself to be so reliable for doing the killing into the later rounds, in fact, other than wonder weapons, there isn't a box weapon either as good as the SVU (DSR 50 fanboys would try to argue, but the fact of the matter is that the SVU has twice the ammo and a lot more than half the DSR's power). As others have said, DT2 and Deadshot simply buff this by a huge margin. Those who say that the lack of iron sights is a problem are doing it wrong. You don't really need peripheral vision to shoot a hoard of zombies effectively. Just train them up. I feel like the SVU is overlooked a lot. Most people aren't used to using sniper rifles in zombies, so a lot of people just buy the AN-94 (and tbh, if you can't make it past round 30, you'll never see why the SVU is so good). But the SVU is amazing and it is the best gun in Die Rise other than the Sliquifier. It's my favorite weapon in multiplayer as well, thanks to my Zombies roots. I love it.
  9. @birdman How is it different? Oh, gosh. Where do I begin? You do everything your way. You do all the work to set up your game your way at your pace. You open PaP on Tranzit by yourself. Camping is much harder. You control the flow of the game. You handle all the zombies, all the time. There is minimal forgiveness for any mistake. You can't have your partner save you when in a jam. Games are faster and can often go much longer than co-op. Overall, imo Solo is the best way for you to test your skill because in the end it is all you. You can only go down 4 times a game other than in Mob. The principles are similar to co-op but trust me, being good at one is not the same as being good at the other.
  10. I like how some of you like to forget that a lot of people play more Solo than Co-op, and that it's easier to get shotgun rank on Solo. Just because a shotgun player isn't a revive monster does not mean that they don't care about other players in the game. Solo plays out a bit different than co-op. Some think Solo is a truer test of skill than co-op, and some think the opposite. Now where I'm going with this is that you can be amazing at zombies and have great stats and shotguns without being a team player. And with that, some shotgun players can't make it past 40 on Solo maps. Shotguns show skill unless glitching is involved either way. I have said this elsewhere too, but not all shotgun players are mean, and yes I do think most shotgun players have more skill at their favorite map or mode than the average player. Shame that many are rude though. If you want to know whether they are truly good play with them and look at their stats. If they have over 100,000 kills than they are likely seasoned veterans.
  11. Nice thread, Eternal. I really like the idea of another snow map. It'd be really cool to have a map like that, maybe one where you could go both into a base and outside of it. What I really wonder too is how the heck could they finish up our zombies storyline in two maps? I bet you we won't be done with zombies at the end of this game. Things are moving too slowly imo.
  12. I have seen it in the rotation too but thought it was a single Five Seven. It actually looks a little like a Tac-45. Great post.'
  13. I wasn't talking about you, so don't take it personally. But there are players who even the most rank-hating people can't deny show that you can be very good at zombies and have the highest rank while still being both an amazing team player and/or an incredibly good solo player. Some examples right off the top of my head include YouTube monsters RelaxingEnd and ChristianR87, and KingJaq and Steve.
  14. I'm with you there, if they are nearby with monkeys like that, I'd be mad at them for not helping. Those people are indeed annoying but to say that all shotgun players are like that displays a high level of either ignorance or idiocy.
  15. I'm àlso kind of surprised at how much bitterness I'm seeing here from some people about ranks. Honestly I think BS is right; skull is free to get, knife is easy (got it before I even knew how the ranking system worked), and shotguns is hard. If you can't get a knife there are only a few reasons for it: -You play too much Turned. -You messed up way too much when the game was released. -You spend too much time getting perma-Jug. -You're bad at zombies. On the flip side, if you have a good track record of consistently playing good, long games, you will rank up. Plain and simple. Don't hate on those who do, if you do or don't play that well. Easy.
  16. I think you're negatively stereotyping way too much. While as I said earlier, having shotguns does not make you KingJaq, in 98% of the cases I've seen, the shotgun players are indeed better at zombies than the lower ranks. I'll also add to that that while it is good and important to revive downed teammates, in a lot of cases there's no way you can revive someone, so just staying alive is the best option. For example, I was playing MotD last night and was running outside the Cafeteria. I got downed, revived myself and ran for the gondola. As I got into the gondola, one zombie got in and double slapped me. I told my partner not to worry about it. There was no way he could have gotten me up and we both knew it.
  17. I'm going to defend the opposite perspective. I feel like ranks and stats is a good idea, it just wasn't implemented perfectly. The idea of ranking people based off of their stats is a nice thing and it gives you something to play for other than for kicks and giggles. I'd say it was a favor to the better players of Zombies, just like persistent Jug is a favor to the lower level players. Way2g00 is right as well. Having shotguns doesn't mean you're KingJaq by any means but it does show that (in most cases) you aren't bad. However shotguns are becoming less and less valuable as a measure of skill due to all the glitchers out there. In the end of the day what really matters (imo) is how far you can go, not your K-D. But it does give you a goal to go for with a visible reward. One of the main flaws with the ranking system is Turned. In the end play as you like - for.fun, for stats, whatever.I recommend you play with friends and not randoms though. And if people back out, your round counts, now. Treyarch fixed that. I just wish they'd make it so custom games didn't affe/ct stats.
  18. Ferguson wasn't the warden of Alcatraz. He was just a regular guard, as seen by 1) what he did (patrolling the prison after 9pm), and 2) what he wore (guard outfit). We have no reason to believe he was the warden.
  19. And for lots of training spots, play TranZit
  20. As the other guys said, Sal doesn't say "video game". Just"game".
  21. Traps are the best thing for a high-round player ever. Never run out of ammo and have infinite kill power (except the Tower trap in MotD). My main gripe with them is that I don't get credit for the kills. I would probably have 60,000 more kills on my record if I did. Instead, even though I get high rounds (I can get 50 just about every time I try MotD solo, I have at least 5 times already), it comes out negative with K-D for me cause of the traps. Probably gonna stop playing MotD after I make my 100+ game successfully, because it messes with my K-D so much. But overall, traps are the best thing ever for high rounds. Only a combination of Traps and a high-power wonder weapon like the Thundergun is better. Just cause you have to stay in certain areas to use them does not make any difference at all, in fact you could argue that it balances them out by making them harder to use.
  22. So do the people in MotD. So.. you're saying that all the Black Ops 2 maps take place in the future, because all of them use BO2 multiplayer weapons that are featured in the 2025 part of the campaign? How about the Cold War weapons in BO1 that you can use in the Zombies maps, that supposedly happen in the 1940's? Maybe in the end Treyarch just allows you to use whatever the weapons are from the game you're in, for gameplay reasons... She says "This is the future! ...Kinda" when she picks a Ray Gun out of the box in Die Rise. Considering the context, and that Marlton also makes a comment about reliving his childhood dreams of being a superhero when he picks up a Ray Gun, I don't think that Misty talking about the futuristic concept of laser-style weaponry proves anything. And your proof for this is...? I'm of the opinion that Green Run and Nuketown both do not take place in the future, as in, not after 1980 at the latest. But Die Rise is definitely confirmed to have taken place in the future, as in post-1996.
  23. Same here. I am somewhat paranoid about the updates after seeing what they did to the Sliquifier and Jet Gun... That aside I'm also pissed that I was kicked from Xbox Live for this, when I was on Round 56 on MotD. >.> Edit: also looks like they have given up on trying to fix Die Rise's remaining glitches.
  24. In MotD, for killing this is all I use: Blundergat Ray Gun M&S LSAT Galil DSR 50 AK47 MTAR For points to use on Traps: Uzi MP5 M1927 I don't really use anything else. =P
  25. Are you playing local? I had a game paused at 56 but due to the Xbox live update today, I was signed out and all my work was gone.
