Just a theory of mine, but I don't think Sam is the Zombie controller in MotD. I'd like to present a different theory to explain the identity of the MotD Zombie controller. The voice seems to be the same as the demonic announcer we used to hear before Richtofen took over. There seems to be a public impression that this deep, evil-sounding voice is Samantha. Why do people think this? Because it's confirmed that Sam did indeed control the Zombies while sitting inside of the pyramid on Moon. But does this prove that the voice is Sam's? I don't think so. Let me share some observations: -In Der Riese, the first time (as far as I'm aware) that Sam interacts with the player, her voice is different than the voice that announces power-ups. It is a deep, evil female voice, but different still. I believe this trend continues in subsequent maps such as Moon. -Richtofen repeatedly mentions voices, notably when he first finds the moon pyramid. -The Zombies have red eyes in MotD, not orange eyes. Coincidentally, orange is a brighter shade of red (red and yellow to be exact). -There are some unanswered questions, such as "where did the VR-11 come from, and does its name signify anything?" and "what is the source of Richtofen/Sam's power?" and "why does Richtofen say 'my power is fragile'?" and "if MotD happened in the 1930's-1940's, how would Ed/Sam be controlling the zombies?". There's other things I could bring up but I'll keep it short due to being on my phone. My theory is that there is a greater and very evil being in the Aether who is is the default zombie controller. This is the voice that Richtofen heard, and the one that announces power-ups. The one we'll see in MotD. I suggest that Samantha was possessed by this being and that's why the Zombie eyes were orange. Red is often associated with evil (Star Wars for example) - but if you combine red with yellow (could represent Sam's childish innocence) then you get orange. I also doubt that a little girl would be so evil (killing people like Richtofen's crew on Moon) if s he wasn't possessed. This could also explain why Richtofen wants more power - his will may be stronger than that of a child but perhaps he wants to be more powerful than the being in the Aether so he won't be possessed.

My thought is that we build the plane to escape the island but that we continue to play after achieving this goal. As per the story, the characters will leave the island, but we'll keep playing as usual. Maybe we'll get a movie clip after the game ends, showing the plane leaving, similar to the final clip in CotD with George talking after the game ends.

The Blundergat (Wonder Weapon) discussion thread
Dahniska replied to Dahniska's topic in Mob of the Dead
I doubt it. I bet it has a new name. I wonder if it has infinite damage... but even if it doesn't, I'm sure very high rounds will be possible on this map because we now have traps, for the first time in BO2. -
Just saw this on the preview (if this is the wrong spelling let me know). Apparently it's a shotgun (most likely buildable) and shoots 4 shots (at a time? or one at a time?). Is it a one-hit kill at all rounds, or just a powerful weapon like the Scavenger? If you upgrade it it shoots green shots. These appear to stun the Zombies, and they can be shot again by any weapon (at least it looks like this) and they blow up in a green slime a little like the Sliquifier's effect. Omg, so hyped. If I got any of this wrong, please correct me. Add your comments and thoughts below. I am so hyped, I'm a bit mad I have to wait another week, fml.

thats a good way to look at it we already have the two most powerful gun weapons to choose from plus a sliquifier that usually never needs ammo. but i don't see why you would need it on green run. pick your wall gun, your ray gun (or M&S) and the jet gun. thats already 3 great guns. From a Solo perspective, you're right, Mule Kick in Green Run (at least TranZit) isn't that good (though I could see it being very useful in Town or Farm). But I would like it to be in there because not everyone only plays Solo. In Co-op, not everyone could have the Jet Gun. Green Run weapons are generally sub-par (when compared to the other maps so far) so having 3 might be useful for Co-op, especially if you were to combine it with Tombstone.
-
Mule Kick is OK, but it depends on the map really. I consider it to not be useful on most maps, but I do like it on CotD, and I wish it was available on Green Run. On Die Rise I hate it and for that reason I often push for not going for free perks. All I need is the basic 3 (Jug, DT and Speed) and Who's Who. I usually get QR pro with a guest if I lose it since it's so useful especially with Who's Who, so I don't need Quick Revive. Honestly, with the Sliquifier, AN-94 and the SVU being available as they are, I don't see Mule Kick being worth it on Die Rise. Especially since we now have improved DT and Who's Who.

I'll have to try this out for myself. This could prove to be vital for saving partners who go down in the power room. Nice video dude! Does this only work if the elevators are above you, e.g. can you drop and get onto the power room floor if the elevator is on the bottom?

Insightful. Nice post man!

Ranking System/Accounts Question
Dahniska replied to UserName2's topic in General Zombies Discussion
3. You can sign in as your main account, load Zombies (and see the option to play your DLC map), sign out via hitting the home button, sign in as your extra account and you can use the DLC. -
Just wanted to point out that BO1 has 10 playable Zombies maps, while BO2 has 3 (1 of them has Grief, smaller survival maps and Turned, but still). Not too surprising more people would be playing a game with 3x as many maps, especially considering the ones in BO2 do get boring.

Give it back infinite kill power like it used to have. Improved reload time. Make the chaining effect better, take away the annoying slime puddles, more ammo, chaining without the gun equipped. Essentially return it to its former glory, with a few improvements.

Recoil ruins HAMR, MTAR, & more
Dahniska replied to ZoMBiE MaSSaCrE's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I noticed this too. The HAMR is much nerfed. I think perhaps the reason the Galil and M16 are still fine is because they're from previous COD instead of BO2. Good thing I usually use M&S/Ray Gun instead... As far as DSR vs SVU I'd have to say SVU takes the cake due to its larger ammo magazine. Wish it could get iron sights though... -

High Round Strategies on Tranzit after patch? (40+)
Dahniska replied to NeedaLittleRevive's topic in TranZit
I'm trying to figure out an effective way to use the electric trap for high rounds. It might be a lot more viable if turbines didn't break so quickly. The turbine's weakness makes it almost necessary to use the electric trap near the bus depot, or at least so it seems. I'm going to try to make a good electric trap strategy one of these days, and if it works, I'll post it to Youtube. I already have some ideas, but I'll need to put them into effect first. -
People I was playing with online said that the power station glitch in TranZit is patched. About time.

http://community.callofduty.com/message ... #413598236 This was put out several hours ago. Looks like some fixes have been done to Die Rise and Green Run. I'm curious to find what they patched. There's also been a patch for PS3 I think, but I didn't find the link for it.
-
I'm assuming you're talking about the Maxis Easter egg. For this, you should have the Trample Steams placed on the Power Building first, then the last two in the spawn building. Place the balls on top of the ones in the spawn building right after you place them down. This worked for me.

Heads up! Turned mode WILL add to your Kill/Down ratio!
Dahniska replied to MF_MaxiMillion's topic in Turned
I'm sure there are some people out there like this, but it's certainly not all. Some people believe it or not really do not care either way. I do believe you Chopper, but I've seen some of the people on these forums saying "wish I had shotguns" one day and then "who cares about stats" the next. If they don't care, they probably wouldn't be posting "who cares about stats" in threads like these where the OP is trying to address those that do. It gets annoying after a while, though I (and others too most likely) often don't bother responding to the very pessimistic comments. -
Heads up! Turned mode WILL add to your Kill/Down ratio!
Dahniska replied to MF_MaxiMillion's topic in Turned
I count myself with you. I'm sure a lot of people who say "who cares about stats and shotguns" are people who either don't have the skill to get there (glitches and exploits aside) or who messed up when the game was new and have no motivation to make it up now, so they try to make themselves feel better by acting like they don't care. To us, doing well consistently is fun in and of itself. And yes, Turned is a big letdown. It should have separate rankings and stats. -
Official Ranking System Discussion and Theories
Dahniska replied to way2g00d's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Been a while since I posted here, so I'll post and share my observations/experiences. I've played regularly since back when BO2 came out. I started with a relatively low K-D, and was stuck with the knife emblem for a long time. As the months passed, I went from thinking "oh wow, I made it to round 29, gosh this was really lucky" to "round 40? easy" because I've improved that much as a player. I got my shotgun a while after getting Die Rise. Took many games (mostly solo, going to round 40 or higher) for me to finally get the shotgun emblem. I remember that at the time, I had about 270 K-D (pretty sure I had over 200000 kills). It was ridiculous how hard it was to get. Ever since then I've been watching my K-D ratio closely, and my goal has been to maintain it at about 350 K-D. I don't have the statistics exactly since I am at work, but here's what I remember from last I checked, yesterday. 1700+ revives ~549000 kills ~1600 downs 1.53 accuracy Most of my games are TranZit, or Die Rise. I avoid Nuketown overall simply cause I hate Jug's random spawning, and I find the other options boring. I aim to use M&S, Ray Gun and/or the Sliquifier in most games. M&S is amazing to get your accuracy up. To me, kills matter more than any other stat (except downs). I think TranZit and Die Rise are the two best maps if you're looking to rank up: TranZit, because it's generally easy and the bank allows you to set up for a good game early; Die Rise, because of the Sliquifier. I recommend these to other people. I've reached 70+ in solo on each of these maps without glitches. Focusing on stats can get boring though, so I do play public matches or matches with my friends often. I use Solo mostly to rebuild my K-D if I have bad days. I've only ever gotten perma-Jug on accident and if you want to rank up, you should never get it. Custom Games shouldn't count towards stats. I have a few friends who got shotguns and imo at least 2 of them didn't deserve them (they reset their stats, then used GK room/easy custom games to build K-D). So yeah, if you want shotguns and you're having a hard time, my best advice is to get better at your maps and play a lot. Solo is best for getting up K-D, but remember to have fun. Don't give up, success doesn't often come quickly. -
I'm used to recovering at high rounds or helping people do so. There are two main strategies that have helped me with moderately good success. It really depends on if there's a teammate willing to help or not. First off, always (no matter what) have a trample steam set up to fling people from the top of the Escher building (upside down building) to the power building. You can either set it up so you fling to the "lonely corner" or to the room near the MP5. This trample steam is useful for both of my strategies. Try to start the round with the highest port player (the one who people spawn closest to) sitting right next to Jug. This is vital! Make sure you get Jug immediately. If possible, have the person who went down go with someone to the room with a hole in the floor (top of the Escher building). Since he has no guns worth speaking of, he should grab a B23R on the way for points building. He can then run a train on the floor below the hole, and his friend can run right above (to kill the zombies and help keep him alive). Stay alive till the end of the round, then go buy whatever. The other strategy if you're alone is to pretty much do the same thing, but alone. Use the trample steam to return to the power building so you can do the loop and buy ammo, returning to your spot once you do. If you can't do these, you'll have to wing it. Try and stay near a wall weapon if you can, something you can grab ammo for, and keep it calm throughout the round. Proper use of Who's Who can save you a lot of pain, so I do recommend it. Going to the China Cafe isn't a bad idea if you feel comfortable using the SVU and Who's Who, so that's another option.

I love Misty, and prefer playing as her most of the time (this is probably because she is a bit similar to Dempsey - I liked him more than the others of the O4). I used to be picky about using her and occasionally I do reset my game until I get whatever character I feel like using. But as time has gone on I have learned to appreciate what each character in BO2 main story Zombies can bring to the table. If I don't get Misty, I like using Marlton. He honestly has the most variety of quotes, and the funniest ones too. I don't especially like either Russman or Stuhlinger. In Tranzit, Russman seems like an idiot, but in Die Rise he and Samuel both seem a bit smarter and more wizened. I'll take them now and then, don't have much like or dislike for either. Of the O4, I like Dempsey probably the most, then Takeo. I'll take Richtofen if I get him (though I think I get him far too often). I can't stand Nikolai in most maps, so yeah. I know he has a lot of fans but he seems totally like an idiot (like Russman) so I avoid him if possible.

You can play Solo online you know.... I know what you mean though. Personally I'm stronger at solo play, but as others said, co-op is good for morale and keeping things from getting too boring. I get less downs on solo and higher rounds. Eh, I use Solo to build K-D mostly, stopped trying for high rounds cause there's so many glitchers on the leaderboards. I'll be honest though, I'm starting to get a little more picky about the people I play with...

Tom, that was amazing, now I really want to see the sequel videos. I always knew that those weapons were bad... but now I know even better, since I know why. ^^

[For 3ARC] Issues across consoles/PC collection list V.1.2
Dahniska replied to Matuzz's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yep, it's happened to me too (though I didn't figure out why it happened). Had to solve it the way you mentioned, except I didn't buy the Galvaknuckles again. lol
