  1. Just a thought for you to consider, but I tried a lot of ways to start MotD while I was going for my 100. In the end I settled with never opening the laundry door from the MP5 - this makes it easier to train the cafeteria area in Solo. From there I took a more slow approach to setting up and stopped stressing getting all those kills from the laundry on Round 1. After I figured that out and made sure to always use the gondola to get Jug after I died, the map became so much easier and I was able to reach my goal. Just something to consider. Try it sometime, you might like it.
  2. Glitch. Somewhat sad that a lot of randoms refuse to play Origins now with you unless you want to do the whole easter egg so they can do this glitch and proceed to sit in a corner for the next 3 hours.
  3. I liked Black Ops 2 Zombies more than its predecessor. I was there at its release and was there to buy each map pack the day it came out. And I played each map when it came out and enjoyed it (except Buried, that got boring in 3 days). I admit in retrospect that some maps are not as good as others... but each map is very different, and I feel like each was an experiment for Treyarch. I'm confident that if they decide to continue making Zombies, that the lessons learned in BO2 will help Treyarch to make the next one better.
  4. I enjoyed reading this. I think you've got some great points and I hope a bunch of other people will also enjoy the read! The part about the black stone and the pieced-together picture, and the reincarnation or rebirth of the O4 characters definitely gets me thinking. It seems clear at the very least that Origins is in some type of time loop.
  5. I've experienced similar glitches as well... and so I avoid the tank as much as I can. I don't even like being near it in a Solo game when it's turned off! The thing is treacherous. There's a few other things in Origins that need attention too: -Hacked leaderboards -Fire Staff glitch with the charged shot that zombies can run straight through, untouched (this has gotten me killed so much that I practically have given up on the Fire Staff for any type of camping) -Easter Egg step with the staffs in the robots - no one does this the right way anymore cause of the glitch/workaround -Generator Zombies not dropping Max Ammo when killed with certain weapons (Ice staff for example) -Glitch in walls near Fire Tunnel, zombies can be stuck in there -Robot foot sometimes refusing to open when hit by splash damage -Lightning Staff glitch with the orb of electricity permanently stuck in the air -Fist and upgraded fist not hitting zombies at point-blank Can't think of any other issues off the top of my head, but the things I just mentioned could certainly use a fix!
  6. Eternal bringing back that theory of no more Treyarch. lol Looks fun, but nothing incredible. Black Ops 3 (or equivalent) needs to come soon!!! More, give me more! No, not a bit less! I need more Zombies. Whatever hype I may have had about this COD online thing is mostly gone, lol.
  7. You can also find these mounds with air strikes. I did it by accident in a game earlier.
  8. I don't want to say that I agree with you entirely or disagree entirely either, but I do agree with you that "Samantha" in Origins does seem to be much different than before. New voice, new awareness of stuff and a different sense of purpose and focus. And why does this new Samantha have new voice quotes when drops appear? The whole deal about the ancient evil that was unleashed by Richtofen's excavation work doesn't seem clearly answered by Origins, once you get into the game itself. It makes sense that the evil in question might be Samantha herself, and that perhaps this Samantha isn't the little girl we knew.
  9. Passing 70 on TranZit. I worked so hard for so long to get good enough to finally pull it off. Getting my high round on Origins. So much work went into that game as well. Finally getting my Mob high round after taking multiple breaks from Zombies cause the map was so frustrating lol. Reaching 2.00 KD on multiplayer after resetting. I went all the way to Prestige Master again and thought I was gonna be stuck on 1.8 forever, then slowly it went up. Making my friend dashboard after he joined my multiplayer lobby to try to mess me up. Getting diamond Assault Rifles. That one took a long time. To be honest Black Ops 2 is my favorite COD of the ones I've played and I think I've booked more time on this game than any other one on the Xbox 360. I checked my stats on COD Elite several days ago and found that I've clocked over 58 days worth of time playing Zombies on Black Ops 2 (Xbox Live). @.@ May the next 3Arc COD be as epic as this one was.
  10. Were all the generators powered up? Before you do that step all must be on.
  11. In solo you can only get 4 perk bottle dig spots. I recommend you leave out Cherry and get every other perk. If you pick up the free double tap last you can have all 9 perks in Solo. Picking up the double tap sooner will be the same as if you had bought it, but you can pick it up whether you have the perk slot for it or not. If you pick up the free one you can't buy it from the Wunderfizz. Hope this helps!
  12. Nice posts 83457. I'm going to politely disagree with you on the buildables section you wrote, for the sake of discussion and sharing opinions. I actually consider the workshop a rather viable place for the shield in Solo. The Shield is by far more useful than the Drone, since the amount of times that shield has saved my life is just unreal. In solo all you have to do is train up your zombies and keep the train right behind you as you go into the workshop. I've never gone down in there ever while picking up a shield. The strength of the workshop for building the shield is that if you like to run behind the tank station (one of the two best strategies I know for the high rounds), you can easily get another shield whenever yours breaks without taking a long time to get it. The wind tunnel is good too, since it's by the other really good high rounds training spot. The drone really is bad. I've tried it a lot and really here's what I think: it's good to use if you're trying to get to 50 without building a staff. That's about the extent of its usefulness really. Nice posts though. I like seeing people put up their ideas on Origins - the map truly has a lot of options to think through.
  13. Yeah, I would love to see some high-def Misty pictures. Looks pretty nice!
  14. Apocalypse. It has the (imo) best Zombie map for BO2. On the side, Frost is a really good MP map, Pod is decent and the other two (Takeoff and Dig) are average maps. If not that, then Uprising. Mob is the other really good Zombies map for BO2, while on the MP side, I love Encore and I think most players really like Studio. Vertigo and Magma are nothing special though. The other two both have side bonuses (guns for MP and Zombies) so you kinda want those too. I dislike all the Vengeance maps but I do like that Mark II.
  15. Dreams, by Rogue. Here's a link to a video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Gk2piQ_OJY
  16. Did you try it with the door closed? I've seen a few people who sit there but they don't take full advantage of the spawn potential like my friend started doing, so I've never seen footage of anyone camping there in the 50's. That's why I posted this, I feel like it would help a lot of people who struggle training in the mid rounds due to the crazy spawns. Edit: Found it. I'm surprised no one has posted any of his videos on these forums.
  17. Kind of shocking how many people like Lightning when it's so bad. Ice is by far the best as far as usability and (imo) has the coolest look when it kills them and the coolest look as far as design goes. I'm surprised Fire isn't more popular. o.O
  18. These powerups spawn after you get/upgrade Lightning. You don't need to do anything else. Source: Tested it twice. Also Max Ammos seem pretty rare to get this way, especially on Solo. Also you can use this to get Fire Sales if you never move the box. A useful tip for Solo players who don't want to move the box but would like a shot at getting box guns.
  19. They don't spawn behind you. It works exactly like I show in the video. As far as Panzer(s), in Solo you only ever get one... so when you see him land, shoot a blizzard and swap quick to Boomhilda. No problems there. In Co-op, I recommend Player 2 uses the Fire Staff, so you can use that in Co-op (or swap to Boomhilda). If you never managed to get a good secondary, you can actually just headshot him a few times with the Ice staff after shooting the blizzard. Panzer really should never be an issue, but you gotta deal with him fast- just his flamethrower can get you red.
  20. Hello friends. This spot (discovered by my friend bloodyhawk6222) is in my opinion the very best place to camp in Origins. To maximize effectiveness do not open the door to generator 3, and use the Ultimate Ice Staff. This strategy works until the early 60's effectively, after which you are better off leaving the spot and running trains to conserve ammo. To use this strategy you need: -Ultimate Staff of Ice -Boomhilda -Juggernog (derp) -PHD Flopper (recommended) -Speed Cola (recommended) -Zombie Shield (recommended) -Monkey Bombs/Air Strikes (recommended) You could try using other staffs but Ice is by far the most effective. If you get low on ammo, throw a Monkey and get out of there! Sometimes a glitch will happen where a zombie will not spawn and instead be stuck in a wall somewhere nearby, keeping the round from ending. If this happens simply run over to generator 2 and back, and he will respawn. If the Panzer Soldat spawns, simply shoot a blizzard and switch to the Boomhilda to kill him. This spot is most effective on Solo, but works in Co-op as well up until the late 50's. seAu459huTA If you went and tried this out and liked it or used it to get to high rounds, please leave me a comment! I'd like to hear about it. This video is unlisted. Edit: Link added for mobile users, thanks InfestLithium! https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... eAu459huTA
  21. I tend to do the same, although I attribute it mainly to boredom. Example - I only use 5 perks on Origins. Most games I can get my additional perk, and then forget about it. Others, I get bored camping wherever, and then spend time sprinting around the map, in an undetermined pattern, looking for digs. Been caught in the fire tunnel, been squashed more times in blood than I care to remember. Boredom. Zombies is pretty easy when you are doing HKR, it's pretty difficult for anything to go wrong. Things go wrong when you have to adapt unexpectedly, or you lose concentration. Yeah, I hear you on that one. It's the times like when you run out of ammo, or when the generator zombies or Panzer show up, that things get really sketchy. The generator zombies are the bane of my existence in Origins. I would offer a suggestion on the dig spot thing you mention, Chopper (assuming you're talking about the orange ones for perk slots). I search for them in each solo game and get all of them (I know you only really need 6 optimally but I like having all the slots to help buy QR from the Wunderfizz). You can check every spot except the church in 3 zombie blood drops. That's what I do, I systematically search at the end of each round that I can with Zombie blood (for 2 of the three routes - the other one I take as I can get it). I found that doing it systematically like that really makes it much easier and faster to get all perk slots, though there is some luck involved. I strive to take luck out of the equation as much as possible by being systematic.
  22. Thanks Pinnaz, and sure Chopper, I'll add a more written out thought process for what I do there (was adding bits at a time in the video but it'll take a while as I'm not totally focused on that right now).
  23. My main problem, which ends almost every one of my 50+ games, is this: I make a bad judgement call about when to be in a place that is of questionable safety. I usually think I can be there (passing through, or there briefly while waiting for something), and then I go down from that. The main fix to this is to only leave your spot when you absolutely need to. The problem is, I try to limit the amount of times I do anything risky, but sometimes I get put in a spot where it's one risk or another, and sometimes I pick the wrong one. So yeah, working on having better decision making. At the end of almost every game I play, I ask myself: "What did I do wrong? How did I die?" Makes it easier for me to avoid repeating the same mistake next time.
  24. My highest round without building any staffs in round 57 with no downs. Was no challenge whatsoever to be honest. That is one of the reasons I don't enjoy it. I get what you are saying about the 'Damned if they do and damned if they don't' though. Not every map is going to be to every ones taste, but I just felt Origins was not a good map for a final DLC. It has no holding power for me personally. It got boring after a week of release and I have only played it once since the first week. Tried going back but after a few rounds I just give up on it. Same for most BO2 maps. There is no challenge to any of them. Maybe NTZ but I personally think that was a wasted and rushed opportunity. All the other maps are extremely easy to hit high rounds, and it is more so that zombies has become time based rather than skill based. My own view is that Treyarch intentionally made zombies easy on BO2 to cater for the people who were not so good at the game mode in an attempt at cashing in on the mode more so than ever. On WaW and BO1 it as a challenge to hit high rounds. This is not the case anymore. The only map I think is made specifically for people who are bad at Zombies is Buried. TranZit and Die Rise have banks too now, but TranZit is a bit hard cause you must learn how to get around the map. Mob, you must open up the map and you need good teamwork to get far. Same for Origins. I don't really see how it's easy to hit high rounds on maps other than Buried. Most are a little forgiving with in most cases being able to take more downs than before, but that's about it. Oh, and weapons are generally better in BO2 due to DT2 but there's much less traps. In the end you must be able to train and be consistently good at making good decisions to get far in BO2 zombies, just like BO1. Buried excepted, of course. I don't see how it's just about time and not skill. Takes ages in BO1 as well, and I feel like in Origins especially the zombies have smarter AI.
  25. I personally love Origins. And I used to hate MotD, but now I think it's one of the best maps for BO2. Mob and Origins are the two maps closest to Classic Zombies in BO2, mainly because you must earn everything as you go along. I love the fact that you have to earn everything. It makes the game fun and challenging. While I loved Tranzit a lot, especially before any map packs were released, I think the bank (and the more recent persistent perks added by Vengeance DLC) hurt the game and cause more pain than gain. The bank encourages players to be lazy and takes away the need for survival skills and careful point accumulation/spending. The persistent upgrades (especially Tombstone) make the game far too easy, or are distracting from the true heart of Zombies gameplay. As far as the easter eggs... well, I think that there is too much emphasis on them in BO2, yes. However, I do like that in MotD/Origins, the things you earn to equip yourself are part of the easter egg. Makes sense to me. I hope more maps are made like Origins. That map has probably become my favorite because it is the hardest map in the game (I'm not counting Survival modes). It takes work to succeed in that map and it's not forgiving of error, and it rewards smart decision making. Now that is what I want to see in a zombies map. Yes, making the staffs and doing the easter egg is tedious, but think of how good the staffs are. The fact that you get such good weapons just for doing fetch, puzzle solving and killing zombies is really cool. I feel similarly about Mob. Die Rise was a bit like these when it was released, but it was a bit of Tranzit style too. I liked it a lot at release because I felt it was a good fusion of Classic Zombies and the newer style introduced in Tranzit. I'm sad that it was patched later to have a bank and to ruin the Sliquifier, turning it into more of a Buried style map. At the end of the day, I feel like Treyarch really tried to make a map for each type of zombies player: there's Buried for noobs/casual players, Mob, Die Rise and TranZit for intermediate level players, and Origins for the hardcore players. At least that's how it seems to me. As InfestLithium said, they do have to change the game up a little bit. I'm overall pleased with Black Ops 2 Zombies and I also think that Origins is one of the best maps yet. I valued Tranzit for the same reason as Origins: I love replayability. If you don't like the map, it's your choice, but you're missing out. However, there's a map for everyone.
