Oh yes the power grid I thought that was somewhere else. Like I was saying in another post this is a very fishy place in my O. Any possible routes to stand near it?

I refuse to believe that we are finished. It drives me crazy that we don't even know where we're at with it and everything is confusing as balls and nothing can be ruled out because nothing has any context whatsoever. In the previous easter eggs, we didn't just randomly scour the map with no instruction and no idea. We generally got put in a direction and went on from there. It's hard to believe or understand that we can get Richtofen to briefly talk about 'The navcard thingy' but we don't know if there's any dialogue prior or after. JZ asks us about where we're at and it lines up with what i'm saying. It's like the whole community every other week is like "I found something!!!!" and over in the 3arc studios, one of the devs is like "Hey guys, they found step 23, i wonder what they find next week."

Anyone questioned the fact that there's a bowie knife in the game? If we have the galvaknuckles, why exactly bother giving us a bowie knife aswel? Totally unrelated, just wanted to throw it out there.

Are you trolling? Game Devs would get fired faster than you can blink if they were stupid enough to leave old assets in a live map. They are not so incompetent as to just leave game assets and code that still work in their game just for kicks. And the fact that it says 'INCORRECT navcard' as opposed to just nothing or an error message implies that there is a correct navcard, ergo, there is more than one. If he is bullshitting, i like his more than i like yours.
-
I see, i stand corrected then. I've picked it up myself but my memory is far from perfect.
-
Correct me if i'm wrong but there's only a 'incorrect navcard' and something like 'navcard successfully activated' (i can't remember exactly). So just because we're picking something up from the back of the bus depot and taking it to this machine and getting a 'incorrect navcard' message, doesn't mean what we have is a navcard. Again, correct me if i'm wrong but you get the message even if you haven't picked it up and have nothing next to your points. EDIT: I am wrong, it does say 'Hold x to pick up NavCard'.
-
And another thing that i'm sure someone has probably thought of, is there evidence that what's behind the bus depot is a 'NavCard'? From what i can see, people are just assuming, i mean i could be wrong but what we pick up could be anything. When i look at the navcard reader, it looks like something you would swipe. The image for what we're calling the navcard doesn't look like a swipe kind of card to me, looks like a hotel room card.

Unfortunately, the issue is that people are all caught up on this TOB bullshit. The achievement gives you the impression that you've 'completed' something, so from there we're all confused as hell. What you're doing is precisely right! But unfortunately, it could just be the TOB. I believe that the TOB doesn't get 'completed' as the achievement hint would suggest, i think it's a prologue. The TV in farm has Maxis telling us about building a plan B should something terrible (like the earth burning to a crisp) happen, he talks about building devices that sound like what we're doing at the pylon. My theory (feel free to ignore this forum, i know you have enough already) is that Maxis's 'plan b' was a reversal of the effects on the earth through these devices like the pylon. So everyone's talking about time travelling and how to manage it but i haven't heard anyone making the connection that the device we're working on could be exactly what Maxis hinted at, something that could help in the case of a cataclysmic event. The only way i see he could help is by reversing damage, so maybe that's how we get to have a nice, clean, town. Doesn't necessarily mean going back in time though and he hasn't just built one of these devices, so for all we know, the pylon has a radius that would only reverse damage in Tranzit, not over the world. Which would be fantastic for the game devs, it gives them a great way to expand into DLC -which also ties into how we see tranzit on a globe, suggesting there are more worldy locations. If this has been said, then just ignore it. Although not very helpful, it is what i've gotten out of all of this.

You're saying that if something is not going to be seen clearly, there's no reason to give it a higher resolution. This is totally true, but the fact is that if you're going to have a skybox and you need a real light object (so an actual source of light (like the sun) instead of just light being emitted from the skybox itself) then it doesn't have a texture. Light objects are not textures, they can't be high or low quality, they are engine-rendered sources of light. I don't even know what that is, it looks like a low-res texture but it's difficult to tell because you're in split screen. My initial guess is that it's an environment source. The whole map is not dynamically lit, some parts are lit by lights that don't actual exist in the rendered -visible- game. The power room is a good example, it has a couple of these lights that are outside the map but emit a radius of light that gets you the super bright effect. It's called an environment object, which is possibly what that light is -it's inefficient to place lights everywhere in order to have the map generally lit. Since the Sun isn't doing that, it could possibly be this light. Another thing to note is that more often than not, the light object is the color of the light it emits, so a global lighting solution such as the one i'm talking about would be a neutral color -white. If you don't quite understand that, let me know and i'll give a better explanation of what global illumination is. I don't have all the answers, but i can sure as hell help to point you away from the wrong direction. I know it's not very helpful to shoot down ideas, but if i were in your position, i'd rather be proven wrong than hoping to be right indefinitely.

BirdDog Dan Tranzit EE next step train station |Update|
Midnite replied to blackfire561's topic in TranZit
That's because it is unfinished. I'm sorry but anyone who says otherwise is ignorant. You could completely ignore the TOB achievement EE and still do the stuff with the NavCard and hear what Richtofen has to say about it. We're all grasping at straws because (and this is only my theory) it's difficult to know what the 'next step' is if you don't even know what step you're on. -
Yeah, i just looked around (i should've really done that before posting, my bad) and it has been found before, it's even in the wiki. Just another stab in the dark, sorry forum. http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Marlton_Johnson

First step of the TOB is turning on the power, it doesn't necessarily mean it's the first step of this easter egg. It's blatantly obvious that the TOB is not one and the same with what we're doing. My strong belief is that the TOB is sort of a prologue to what we're working on. But that's just my opinion though.

Has this been found already or is it new? 3arch didn't have to put anything on his watch. And i always thought his character was suspicious, one of Marlton's random quotes is (something along the lines of) "If you help me out of this, i'll tell you what's really going on here". Please tell me other people have heard the quote again, i really don't want a witch hunt on my ass with people telling me i'm a liar. I'm not going to make wild assumptions, i'm just saying that the character attracts attention and he has a number on his watch that doesn't need to be there. Any other characters with interesting watches? :P

What makes you go straight to 'it's a moon'? There are a ton of in-game light objects that appear the same. And if there was going to be a 'night time' in the game, they wouldn't store a light down there like that. They'd replace the skybox. I have experience in game development, so i'm telling you what i know to be fact. The only conceivable reason for a dev to put that alleged 'moon' there, would be if the game had that animated upward, into the sky. But even then, it wouldn't be there, visible at all times -it would be triggered. And following my own advocacy, if they were going to animate it up, it would firstly be much higher res and if i was a dev and i wanted a moon rise, i'd atleast have a moon texture, as opposed to a light object. Don't take me wrong though, i do hope i'm totally wrong and i don't like to be the idea killer but what i'm telling you is based on knowledge of how games are built. It's the same reason i know that the only way for 'alternate routes' to exist is if the game loads in more of the map, something i've never seen happen before on any map -so unless you're teleporting into an instance, i doubt 3arch would pop in a quick load and let you go on your merry way into the horizon of a new map area.

And it's not just the fact that not knowing the first step makes it difficult to figure out others. Has anyone considered the idea that some of the stuff we try isn't working but could be right? For example, if we know step one, we can then do step two. But if we were to discover the second before knowing or doing the first, the second wouldn't work anyway. It's a sad thought that doesn't really help anyone but what i'm getting at is that instead of taking random stabs in the dark for 'the next step' why not just try and find the first step rather than trying to find random things all over the place. I'm honestly not trying to discredit people, it's just that 3arch are not idiots. They do things for a reason. Right now it's just a cluster fuck or information and tiny action-reaction events that we haven't tied together in any way. The only 'theory' i would like to suggest is that the whole of Tranzit could've been put together in absolutely any order, maybe if we focues on the Bus Depot being the beginning of the easter egg, it might help us understand/find the second step (whatever that may be).

I can appreciate the fact that it must be annoying when people make topics that don't really add to anything but there's genuinely something that i wanted to ask. Where does the EE begin exactly? With all the others, there's a starting point, an instruction, a beginning location. I don't really see where that applies with Tranzit. The navcard has nothing to do with the TOB achievement EE because you can completely ignore it and still get the achievement. So where exactly does it start? The thing i've heard that even mentions something outside of the steps of the TOB is when Richtofen says something about 'The navcard thingy'. Does it start with you finding the navcard+meteorite on your own? Because usually we've been able to piece things together due to having an order. The first step helping you figure out the second and so on. Judging by NGT's videos, any of the stuff they've found could be the first step, everything is just out of order. Do we know of anything that's directly impacted another? So one step leading to another or an action? Excuse the ignorance, it just seems painfully obvious (or maybe i'm totally off base here) to me that maybe if we knew what step 'x' was, we could then figure out step 'y'.
