Most likely an achievement. But it will probably get old quite quickly (similar to Who's Who, a cool little gimmick which got old real quick. But I hope not!

First Look at MotD Wunder Weapon (pics) / Perk & Ray Gun too
Naitrax replied to GRILL's topic in Mob of the Dead
Okay, after seeing Flam's post above me, I am thinking it is either Tombstone or PhD. PhD more likely -
Maybe. I just don't think there is a reason for the N4 to be here... seems more fitting for the O4: Trapped on Moon, finally escapes, then trapped in Alcatraz... THE IRONY!!! Could be... But I don't thing 3arc would do that after just releasing a game mode where we become a Zombie.

Thanks gais! I really appreciate the support! Heres a cookie for both of you :3 *hands Lenne and Shooter a cookie each*

Hi gais, its Nai here. I just wanted to reintroduce myself to the community. I am starting over. I wasn't very active before and now I am going to try my best to serve the community in any way possible! It helps my state of mind if I reintroduce myself here so I just wanted to give myself happiness!

Very well thought out. This would explain the candles and skulls everywhere, plus the pure red room in the cell block (visible from the aerial off-shore shots) Also I believe the ghostly hellhound-looking being to be a demon who got greedy and now feeds off souls... SO yes nice theory and I think it might be spot on!

Mob of the Dead Traps/Weapons/Perks Confirmed/Rumored
Naitrax replied to Spartica4Real's topic in Mob of the Dead
I saw that screenshot too.. but after seeing the trailer, that map look too cartoonish to be real. Check this out: Look at the pictures at the end. Acid Rain trap? New WW?? Also it was pointed out somewhere that there is a set of spikes on the roof somewhere. -
I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say this is it. It will serve a purpose to finding a secret, and that may be all. I hope we get to FREE spectate people and visit part's of the map that we want to see. This also relates to JuggerWhicho's theory. INSTANTidea: What if it let's you play, but when you respawn, your game's progress is SAVED, so next time you enter Purgatory, you continue where you left off??? It could carry over through multiple games... Or maybe Purgatory is a buyable thing off the wall: "Press and Hold X to enter Purgatory. Price: 2000" Buying Purgatory is key to solving a part of the EE. You enter and defeat the ghost's to unlock the Cell. OR MAYBE WE HAVE TO KILL THE WARDEN WHILE IN PURGATORY TO OPEN A SECRET CELL?!?!? So many ideas...

Mob of the Dead Trailer Analysis! NOW WITH "MAKING OF" VIDEO
Naitrax replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Mob of the Dead
After all these discoveries we've made about parallels, how (story wise) could we POSSIBLY tie in an Easter Egg? Hopefully it's a breakaway from those damn Spires and the Richtofen/Maxis war. Anyway, there seems to be what looks like crystals on the workbench? What could we use them for? I'm glad they're bringing back the 'scare' factor from Nacht and Veruckt. I miss the dark colour scheme! This map is shaping up to be the BEST map ever! EDIT: Something else I just thought of. For a split second in the trailer, we see a Teddy Bear in a bloodied cell. The bear is a symbol of Samantha. How would the bear get here if Sam hadn't been here??? This could also back up my theory of the Ghostly Hellhounds... EDIT 2: It hit me in the shower (if you know what I mean ). What if the 'thing' we see in the trailer isn't a Hellhound, but a DEMON? It seem's to be stationary... What if we have to energise this demon for it to leave us alone and allow passage? Maybe feed it zombie souls? Or Bullets? -

Mob of the Dead Trailer Analysis! NOW WITH "MAKING OF" VIDEO
Naitrax replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Mob of the Dead
Hmm, I'm not so sure. Like I said, this map is set before the first Hellhound was even created. But, Treyarch likes to mess with us. Yes they do. The've got everyone EXTREMELY curious as to who is master of the Zombies? We can't exactly power a Spire for Richtofen/Maxis because this far back (assuming Die Rise takes place in the 2000's) it probably wouldn't have any effect. Plus Richtofen has no power over anything here. This is true, but we have seen the power of time travel in extreme amounts, so anything is possible. Also, HOW DID THESE ZOMBIES GET HERE??? Alcatraz is an island. Wasn't the first meteor containing 115 found near SNN? And it was quite a time after this... So many mysteries to be solved! -
Just going to post this here, for the record:

Mob of the Dead Trailer Analysis! NOW WITH "MAKING OF" VIDEO
Naitrax replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Mob of the Dead
Since we're on Alcatraz (with all the ghost stories), could it possibly be a new type of Hellhound? THE GHOSTLY HELLHOUND!!!! -
I was writing this at the time you posted your thread. It took a while to write because I had other things to do, and would come back to look at it and write a bit when I had spare time.

As has been reported, there will be a new feature in Mob of the Dead known as 'Purgatory'. I delved into this and came up with this: The word "Purgatory", derived through Anglo-Norman and Old French from the Latin word purgatorium, has come to refer also to a wide range of historical and modern conceptions of postmortem suffering short of everlasting damnation, and is used, in a non-specific sense, to mean any place or condition of suffering or torment, especially one that is temporary. (Taken from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purgatory) This interest's me greatly. Will we be seeing a temporary 'torture' once we have died? Or will it be like this? A place of transfer as in the Christian religion?: The Catholic Church gives the name Purgatory to the final purification of all who die in God's grace and friendship, but are still imperfectly purified. Though Purgatory is often pictured as a place rather than a process of purification, the idea of purgatory as a physical place is not part of the Church's doctrine. (Taken from the same page as the last one) Once we 'die', we might enter a place of torture! This could definitely tie in to the map's Easter Egg (which will most likely have a Solo variant due to a Campaign dev working on the map ) Or could Purgatory be a new perk????? Let the theories fly!
-
Another thing to note is that there is a ORANGE box light. This could tie in with other facts like we have a 'new' controller. Maybe this new commander thing could be the being Richtofen was hearing in his head?

Once again, a VERY well thought out post by you Requix! I remember us discussing this yesterday. Yes, this thing has some importance in the Zombies universe. Irony that Vertigo is a side effect of Nitro-Glycerine, and people usually experience vertigo around high buildings? The sign is above a zombie spawn, and I increasingly see the zombies ,with a headache-type motion before pulling barriers down, at this window! Maybe they were patients of the Foot Reflexology shop?

Activision and Treyarch will not stop zombies here. They make WAYYY too much money off the series. I personally hope Treyarch split from Activision entirely for the next gen. A perfect, not rushed to be out by November game. Most glitches found and patched before release. I don't mind if we have to wait 2 years for the next zombies game. Just don't rush it. Splitting from Actigreedy would be beneficial to Treyarch. We'd all support them and if they coded all the maps into one game with 50 DLCs (that's too much tho) we all would let them thrive!
-
Very well thought out. Great work on putting this all together! I have a few things to add: Samantha may not have any control over the zombies anymore. The reason they still say "Sam!" I believe to be from repeating the same thing over and over. Like a catchphrase: say it a few times and it begins to stick. Also if she still had some element of control over the zombies, why would she not use that control, even in the slightest bit to stop the zombies off the crew for a while? I am beginning to think after reading this that by choosing a side (Maxis or Richtofen) we may follow different paths to 'enlightenment' by powering three spires for one. Nirvana for Richtofen (didn't he have a quote about Nirvana in some map?) and the other for Maxis because he seems to have no care for human beings and is a machine similar to GLaDOS from Portal. What do you think? Again VERY well thought out post and this will be helpful in solving the mystery of Maxis and Samuel!

Just thought of something awesome! If you have all the perks when the EE is complete you get a 10000 point bonus!

No crawler no circles "challenge".
Naitrax replied to A Drunk Soviet's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I enjoy running circles with friends. The amount of teamwork you can work into them... It gives you a rush, gathering them all together and running into the bar on Town while your friends Mustang & Sally them to high hell... Anyway my favourite way to stop circle running is to camp near the Navcard table. Trample Steam on the window, two in the centre, and one spare. Friends spaying while I knife the zombies... Made it to round 30. It was amazing... -
Wow guys! Getting some AMAZING ideas coming along right here. Combining all these ideas into one would create the perfect Buildable perk machine plan: Parts: 1. Life core: Dispensed at spawn, every time you leave the room another one falls from the roof/sky (depending on the scenery) Appearance: A rainbow flashing orb that gives off a nice, warm glow in your inventory. 2. Base: Each base is found close to the build area. Appearance: A solid metal plate, similar to the Trample Steam mesh. 3. Perk-a-Body (see what I did there? 8-) ) Found in various locations. Interchangeable per Rissole25's idea. Appearance: It would look exactly like the actual perk machine, just removing the glow and base. 4. 115: Gathered by killing 10 zombies around the perk machine build area. Blue wisps fly into the machine if done correctly. This acts as power to the machine. The Super Perk-a-Cola: Once every machine is built, a new core will be dispensed at spawn. Flashing gold and silver, this orb can be added to the hidden machine, located on a corner somewhere. Once attached, go to each perk machine and hold X/Square while approaching the machine from the side. Either a gold or silver own is obtained. The silver orbs are built on left table, while the golden orbs should be built onto the right side. Once complete, a new perk will be able to be purchased for 8000 points: Effect Immunity (or whatever, chosen for the immunity to the harmful effects of 115) This perk will take up one of your four slots BUT allow you to buy all the perks in one life! Anyway hope you enjoyed my idea, all thanks to everyone who posted here. Who knows? Maybe I'll one day brainstorm a map as good as Stop Mocking Me0's!

4th dlc what people want and map editor ???
Naitrax replied to SlinkerCoder8's topic in Research & Development
What if they released the mod tools to make maps to pc, then there was a way somehow we could USB-them over to our consoles? -
I meant this as in only 1 perk buildable. This would mean it only brings the perks down to 5. One buildable machine per map. I was hoping it would be the new perk from that map plus the new perk from the previous map. Eg; If it was implemented on CoTD, The buildable would be between Deadshot Daiquiri and PhD Flopper (or Stamin-Up)
